Went in for lunch and ordered a pizza and salad. They charged me $12 for a side Caesar salad. Ridiculous! The menu mentions to add on salad to any entree for $4 however apparently the caesar isn't included. The serving staff should tell people that when they ADD A SALAD TO THEIR ENTREE. The best part was asking the waitress about it after receiving the bill as she stood next to the manager (I assume manager based on her attire). She apologized and the manager just stared at me. This is one of my all time favorites in Davis and I will continue to come back here for as long as I live in Davis! The service is always great and timely which is a plus. In addition the food is delicious! The fettuccine arrostiti is so good with a delicious creamy citrus sauce and chicken cooked to perfection! The pappardelle Bolognese is the perfect balance of creamy ricotta and meaty bolognese! If you're looking for something with more of a kick, I highly recommend the pork fusilli that has a delicious habanero pesto sauce that is amazing. Met my son for dinner here. We were seated quickly and met by wait staff. Our drink orders were taken along with our appetizer order of calamari. The calamari was excellent. We then placed our dinner orders. I can easily recommend their Spaghetti Carbonara. It was outstanding, especially if you like garlic. Paesanos is one of my favorite restaurants in Davis. It serves up quality Italian food in a beautiful restaurant with great service. I would be happy to come here just about any day of the week. The main reason to come to Paesanos is the pasta. There are quite a few dishes on the menu, but I'd like to recommend three in particular. The first is the fettuccine aristote. I love fettuccine alfredo, but it can often times be too rich for me. The Fettuccine aristoe is a lighter version, but still full of amazing flavor. Rather than just being cheese and perhaps chicken, this dish adds a different sauce that has an amazing array of flavors. It's tangy and rich at the same time. It's a dish you just have to try in order to understand it. It's my go-to dish and I highly recommend ordering it. My second recommendation is the pork fusilli. This is an amazing dish that combines spicy pork, cilantro, and sour cream with fusilli for a well-balanced pop of flavor. Fuzio used to have a dish like this that I actually prefer over this one, but my friend swears by this dish. It can be a bit on the saltier side, but overall this is a wonderful dish that is a winner. A surprise third dish I would get is the spaghetti and meatballs. Why get such a standard dish? Well.. Paesanos does it right. There is a quality to it that I think is really difficult to replicate at home. Paesanos elevates its taste to heightened levels that certainly does surprise. Want an appetizer? Go for the polenta fries. Such a great idea! If I had one gripe about the restaurant, it'd be that they would serve Coke over Pepsi... but other than that this is one place I'm always more than happy to dine at! read more

Three stars for relatively small portion sizes and had to wait a bit past my pick up time. Although it was Valentine's Day and they were super busy. The "prawn" scampi contains shrimp, not actual prawns. Prawns are a lot larger. It is also VERY garlicky. My daughter ordered it and we all tried it. The dish contains capers which would have been a lovely flavor with this but unfortunately the garlic overpowered them. Mind you, we are an Italian family and use lots of garlic, so I know if it is too garlicky for us, others will find it too strong also. The prawns were big and slightly breaded and came with garlic bread and pasta was flavorful. I ordered the pork fusili and wow, it was so yummy. My little nephew ordered the kid pepperoni pizza and he devoured it, it reminded him of the Triple Play pizza from Round Table. We went around 6 on Saturday. Was told an hour wait, totally expected. Gave her my number. Checked in around an hour, 3 were 3rd in line. No problem. Another 30 min go by, we check in. Apparently we responded by canceling. Turns out she misunderstood my number and they texted us, didn't hear back so cancelled. At first the hostess made this seem like my issue, I showed her my phone and let her know that is not my number. Celebration continued... In my family it has been a tradition to celebrate our Mother's Day (and Father's Day) on a Monday, the day after. It has been like that for many years for us. The food was very good- no complaints there. On the other hand, the service was unbelievably slow. Worse than that, so rude. We were seated outside at 8 and ordered at 8:07. Appetizer finally came out around 8:40. At 9, 50 minutes after placing our order, I let a staff member know that they should cancel our food at this point. She proceeded to go to the kitchen and then come back and let me know that the ticket had only gone in 25 minutes ago, not an hour as I had said, and that the food was ready.
