Honestly love Paik's noodle. Their jajangmyun is just like what my mom and the church ladies used to make, the noodles are especially good and the serving is so generous it's enough for multiple meals. Their dumplings and garlic chicken wings are also to die for. They give you a generous portion of yellow radish to go with your food, and their observance of COVID guidelines is really good. They also pack food up really well and I would say it's a really good value for your money. The owners are super nice as well. Not my "cup of tea" or in this case "bowl of noodles". We ordered 3 of the 4 things on the menu (really 6 things on the menu cuz 2 are available with rice instead of noodles) cuz they didn't have the last item yet. Weird, but they told us it will be available in December. My brother said "they probably didn't learn how to make it yet . Jjajangmyun (black bean noodles also available with rice) was the best of the 3, but not great. Sauce had lots of big chucks of veggies but didn't really have any meat in it (shrimp nor pork). Just very small bits n like 5 pieces n I'm not exaggerating. The sauce was way too sweet for my liking n couldn't taste the flavor of the black bean sauce itself cuz the sweetness overpowered it. But the noodles itself was fantastic. Texture was on point and cooked perfectly!! It takes both noodles n sauce to make a great bowl of Jjajangmyun!! Sauce was a miss here. Jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup also available with rice) again noodles were great, had lots of veggies, not a lot of seafood (shrimp, mussels, squid/octopus nor pork) but the broth tasted like a packet of ramen noodle soup base. Didn't have any kind of seafood taste at all n very little seafood in it. Total miss!! Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was ok. I love the Korean style one that has the clear light colored sauce vs the Chinese orange colored sauce and I've been wanting to find a place that serves it and here it is. BUT the pork was a bit chewy and the batter on the pork when it sits a few min. with the sauce makes the breading soggy n chewy. Weird texture. It may be better if they just served it separately n used it as a dipping sauce. The last dish is bokummyun (stir fried noodles). They said it's not available til December. Didn't say why but it's prob a plot to get you to come back next month. So I may just have to go back to try it. But most likely will not be going back for the rest of the stuff. I raised up in Asia and I should say that here has THE BEST jiamppong noodle I ever had in United States! The taste dominates and price is adorable, that being said so so service? Never, every time when I walk in always received the warm greetings from the owner. I would say most of those who rated this restaurant with low grades may barely try the Hong Kong Paik's Noodle in Korea before. The soup is authentic and rich with hours of stewing and it no differ from what I tried at Busan, Seoul and L.A. You can feel how smooth and delicious the noodle is while having the noodle along with soup together. Panchan is also very traditional Korean style sliced yellow radish and super crunchy, tasty and authentic. We decided to try brand new place Paiks noodle today The service was not attentive. We had to waive and call them to come to our table even when they were not so busy(just few tables). We ordered Jjamppong , jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk. The spicy noodle soup was so disappointed( i barely ate the noodle soup, nothing much except just noodles and soups) the jajangmyeon was not my favorite either. Paik's Noodle is an outstanding restaurant to dine at for two simple reasons: the food and service. At Paik's, you are greeted at the door by the friendly staff who are genuinely happy to see you. If you want to feel welcomed and at home you will love Paik's atmosphere. The staff was super helpful when helping me choose a dish and explained the options available. I ended up choosing the Jjambbong and was amazed at how fresh the fish was. My food was served very hot and came to the table very quick. There are other Korean restaurants in the area, but you would be foolish to not dine at Paik's. I've been coming here reguarly since the opening because of my kids loving noodles here. Food is good but I wasn't a huge fan of this place due to lack of menu selections. Now they are adding more and more menu which i more more selections to choose. It's one of the very famous franchise from Korea and getting better and better. We love coming here when the gray-haired gentleman server is working. He is very attentive and friendly and makes the whole experience worthwhile. However, if he isn't working, it's a completely different situation. This evening, for example, we went for dinner and didn't see "our friend" (the male server) working. The place wasn't that full and wasn't that busy. We were directed to a table, and then waited for at least 15 minutes to have someone come take our order (and this was only after one of the other servers had noticed us waiting and called our assigned server over to take care of us). Once our food was brought out, no one came back to check on us or even bring us the bill. I had to go up to the register to check out. One thing we have noticed in the absence of our friendly server is that white, non-Asian customers like us are treated differently than their Korean clientele. I know that many of the staff don't speak English fluently, but that shouldn't stop them from providing the same hospitable service to all customers, regardless of any language barriers. read more

I first visited when they opened back in 2015. The food was really terrible back then. The place was clean and efficient, service was always nice but the jjajangmyeon was just awful. Fast forward 2020, in the age of Shelter-in-place with Wuhan coronavirus. Not many restaurants are open for business to begin with and I had visited them just prior to the lockdown and the food had actually improved tremendously since 5 years ago. I had a take out order last week and the ordering process and curbside pick-up was seamless. The food was prepared just prior to my arrival and stayed hot until I got home. Their jaengban-jjajang was really good. Just the right amount of spiciness to complement the black bean sauce and the seafood. I consider myself somewhat of a jjajang-myeon connoisseur and this dish is something I can stand by. For the money, it is also a huge value given its portion. Food: We ordered jajangmyeon platter and sweet-spicy shrimp. The platter was very sweet, and the after-taste sweetness got worse. Shrimp was OK. The sauce was good, but it made the batter very soggy. Sanitary practice: We asked for more onion and yellow pickled radish, and the waitress took our little bowl for a refill instead of bringing us a new serving. Also, her thumb touched the food. This is a gross unsanitary practice and increases the chance of cross-contamination. They still had the silverware container at each table, which again is a problem with cross-contamination. POOR COVID PRACTICE: This restaurant is very spacious, but the tables were still placed too close to each other. We had to approach the cashier because sitting with our masks on was not a clear enough sign for the waitress to bring us the check. When we wanted to pay with Apple pay, instead of having the scanner available for us, the cashier asked us to hand over our phone with a code so she can scan it! IS SHE SERIOUS!!! This is the DUMBEST thing I have experienced. On this day, they were busy because SGD was closed due to COVID exposure. To the manager of PAID'S NOODLE: Please pay attention to the details of safety practices. The risks your customers have to bear are too high because you are tone-deaf to COVID. read more

Delicious Korean noodles! One of the best jjajangmyun around in the suburbs. Very well priced and tastes pretty authentic. The sweet and sour pork is unique - very good and worth trying. We brought in a large party of 13 this afternoon to celebrate my wife's birthday. They were able to accommodate us quickly and the food came out quickly. They were nice enough to play happy birthday over the speakers (not too loudly to annoy others) and also graciously comped my wife's meal. We came here on a Saturday night with our 2 little ones. The restaurant has a nice relaxed ambiance and offers only a few selections on their menu. This is reasonable though since it is a specialized Korean/Chinese noodle place. We ordered the jjampong, jjajangmyeun, sweet and spicy wings, and shrimp mayo. Everything tasted delicious. Their jjampong and jjajangmyeun were very flavorful but not too greasy, which we really liked. Service was definitely above average for an Asian restaurant. Ive been to a lot of Chinese/Korean restraunts all over the world. I have to say, this is simply one of the best. Their fried food is light and batter is delicious- pork, shrimp, and dumpling. Even their shrimp is clean. Their JiaJiangMyun noodles taste fresh, not sweet, and well balanced. You feel good leaving. You dont feel gross even if you've over eaten. Service is great. My friend and I went here for lunch Friday. I've been here before and love the food so this is more about the service. When we were going to leave my friend asked for a TOGO container for her soup. She was charged a $1.00. Ok but then after she discovered a hole in it and it spilled all over the table as she tried to pack it to leave, all the broth/liquid spilled out. The restaurant was packed with customers of Korean ancestry which is a good sign. We were a bit confused by the layout upon entering. However you should seat yourselves at a table and one of the nice ladies will drop by to take your order. Service was friendly and quick. It was a very casual and friendly environment, I could hear some of the servers talking and laughing with each other. I ordered the jajangmyeon, and I thought it was good, but nothing super amazing. Prices seemed to be reasonable. I used to go to I think senoya buffet to get jajangmyeon (which I believe is closed now), but now I mainly go to the Assi food court, so I'm always curious to find other restaurants that offer it. read more

I live across the street and have been ordering food here for several years. Mostly pickup due to Covid. Love their food, specially their noodles. But I will not longer be coming here after the way my friends and I were treated. I came with a group of 7 people at 8pm. We just came back from then Renaissance Fair so we were all dressed in costumes. The restaurant was half full and we were told if we were dining in we have to leave by 8:45 pm since they were closing by 9pm. We were told to wait for a table to open. We didn't understanding because there were 5 (2 seater tables) available next to each other and we could have easily scooted 3 of the table together. Also the 3 ladies working behind the counter were just standing there doing nothing. We asked if we could be seated in the booths at the back and we're told that area was closed. After about 5min waiting, we decided to leave. We walked next door to Banchon instead. OMG what a difference of night and day. The employees were super nice and the food was great.
