    Zoe D.

Food: I'm already craving the jaengban jjajangmyeon again! It was the largest dish we ordered, the last one to arrive, but also the first one we finished. We asked for extra spicy, and it was fantastic--flavorful, satisfying, and cooked stir-fry style with that unmistakable "wok fire" aroma. If you're a spicy food lover, this is a must-try! I'd definitely choose this again next time... and probably every time. The tangsuyuk, however, was a bit disappointing this visit. It wasn't as crunchy on the outside or sticky on the inside as before. Even though it was hot, the texture tasted a little old. As for the jjamppong, we never seem to finish it, so next time we'll probably skip it and go straight for the jaengban. Service: The servers were clearly very busy, but they still took good care of us. Ambiance: Clean, clear, and comfortable! The food photos on the walls all look super tempting.

Consistently good food with solid service and priced right, whether for take out or eating in. Most recently we got the chajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tangsuyook (sweet and sour pork). The noodles are hearty and firm with the oh so savory sauce. The S&S pork is so well done-- the battered pork strings are perfectly fried and somehow not greasy and the sauce is sweet and tangy. The combo of the two is excellent! Friendly service with a no nonsense dining area.

Consistent restaurant to get Jjajangmyun, Jjamppng, and Tangsuyuk. I wouldn't say they are the best in the Chicagoland area but as a franchise, their quality is consistent. The pricing keeps going up, thus minus 1 star.

My go-to place for a jjajangmyun fix. Never disappoints and they are fast. My nephew had the jjajangbop which has a huge fried egg on top of the rice like omrice. They also give you a jjampong broth to wash down the rice. Portion size is bigger than other restaurants I've been to. Also needed to satisfy my fried mandu craving. Perfectly fried and crispy. Service is fast and courteous. Conversation friendly and roomy seating.

I've been a big fan of Chef Paik for a long time and have heard of this chain restaurant that he has. I'm so glad I finally came in to try it because it's one of my favorites now! Upon arriving, you usually pick where you sit and they'll come over with menus and water. The eating utensils are hidden in a built-in shelf on the side of the table which was cool. Since it was our first time, we went with the staples: Tangsuyuk, Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong. The Tangsuyuk which was SO delicious. I loved how crispy it was and that you could choose to either douse your pork in the sauce or dip it. We dipped it and it was amazing. The sauce was a perfect combination of sour and sweet - a must-try! For the Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong, they had 3 different version available on the menu, but I couldn't find an English translation to what it was so I asked for help - I believe some of the options are getting the dish as is or adding additional protein. For the Jajangmyeon, we got the version with added pork meat. It was incredible! The flavor was more on par with the Chinese version of this noodle dish. The side of onion and radish was also included! For the Jjamppong, we got it as is and it was very flavorful and spicy! The noodles were nice and bouncy and the amount of seafood was perfect. It was so delicious on the cold day that we stopped by. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and the food. I look forward to coming back to try more dishes!

Korean-Chinese food is a lot sweeter than most cuisines. The Tangsuyuk is a must. Pour the sauce over for more Chinese style sweet and sour pork (slightly soggy), or dip it for more Korean style. We got kkanpunggi and tbh I thought it was a waste of money. The jaengban jajang feeds 2 people and is excellent. I would get it over the regular jajangmyeon if you can. Also can't go wrong with the jjanppong.

We came here because SGD said their kitchen was closed. We thought it was just ok. We ordered the dumplings but it didn't look like the picture on the wall. It was decent - I prefer the ones next door at SGD. The mayo shrimp was nice and large and it was a bit sweet. The spicy shrimp was spicy which was nice. The best dish was probably the noodles with beef and veggies. I love the cabbage and didn't eat the beef. The noodles were good. The broth was flavorful. It was hard to get someone to help give us a fork or a bowl but other than that, it was fine.

We have been coming to dine in often but I see that I have not updated my last review. Food is consistently good, sometimes breading is overpowering on fried meat, but overall all food is good here.

We have been getting paiks recently but for take out. For take out if you get the black bean noodles they will put your sauce on the side. Portions are still large as if you ate in stores! The sweet and sour pork holds well even after a 15 minute drive back. Anything that has sauces on it will be soggy but still delicious!

We got 1. Jajangmyeon 2. Tangsuyuk - sweet and sour pork 3. Chili Saeu - fried shrimp in spicy chili sauces 4. Gochu Jjamppong - spicy seafood noodle soup with spicy chili peppers I love the combination of fried meats with these Korean noodles dishes. I'm normally not the biggest fan of sweet and sour sauces but these were executed so well. Perfectly cooked and crispy pork/shrimp covered in tasty sauces. Flavor and texture of the noodle dishes were top notch. Portion sizes of everything was good. Service was excellent. We had dress clothes on and they lent us aprons. Lots of seating inside but not cramped together. I'll definitely come back.

Checked out this place in Glenview after seeing it pop up when looking for Asian. It's a place that seemingly has lots of items featuring noodles. Paik's Noodle is a Korean restaurant. Has lots of items with noodles but has a problem about it. There's not much of choices for vegetarians as far as proteins. Has a pretty hectic atmosphere. If they're working so hard, why does it take so long to get the food? They're lacking in choices for vegetarians. It's $12 for Vegetable Fried Rice. The only thing basically acceptable, and that even needed modifications though. Make it vegan without eggs. The menu only has noodle items with chicken or seafood. It bites. Would have liked to try some of the noodles. Fuck. The others said their stuff was okay. Kind of greasy. This is like hit and miss. Being my choice the next time I probably wouldn't go here. It has a menu of only a few noodle entrees and not much choices for things such as proteins. There's almost nothing for vegans and vegetarians.

really loved this place! they let us choose where to get seated and we tried three dishes. the utensils were self served in a drawer on a table. the jajangmyeon was well flavored and the hoodles had a nice bounciness to them. really liked that they gave us sauce on the side for the tangsuyuk so the pork could stay crispy. the shrimp tasted similar to a honey walnut sauce which was nice and liked the cabbage underneath for some crunch. they both were battered perfectly and crispy which i've never had specifically this kind before. service was good and overall would come back occasionally for a casual meal!

My favorite of the night was the rose tteokbokki. The tteokbokki was perfectly chewy and I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. The popcorn chicken was also good and paired well with the sauce it came with. The bossam was on the dry side and the seafood pancake was pretty standard. The fries were good but wouldn't pay $10 for a basket of fries if we came back next time. The corn cheese was also good but the plate was small. There was a call button at each table which was convenient. Food came out individually as it was ready instead of all at once which was to be expected for our party size.

I really liked the natural-stone mini-subway style tiles on the walls. Like a lot of Korean places I have seen, the seats had minimal padding. I think this would be a great place for a date if you're in the area, a prize in an unassuming strip mall anchored by an auto parts store. Food was great, they happily and generously provided more banchan and also gave us complimentary bowls of soy paste soup that was practically jumping out of the bowl. As civilised as I tried to be, using my chopsticks and the cooking tongs correctly, I still felt like I completely stuffed my face like at a trough '^_^ it was all so good. Maybe to accommodate the neighborhood, the banchan was not nearly as spicy as we expected, so that might be great for someone trying Korean for the first time. Some might balk at the prices of some items, such as $24.99 for 1/2lb of raw meat, but we had a very enjoyable time and hope to come again.
