Came here last night for dinner and was not disappointed. Sat at the bar and was pleasantly surprised at how well Olivia was able to manage the bar and still be able to interact with customers. Now, the food... Had the steak salad and I gotta say, the best I've had. They source their beef locally and don't skimp on the portions - and what creative a mix of vegetables. I'm back tonight and there's a different bartender. Service isn't at all as great as it was with Olivia. Waiting to order food and see if the experience is the same - food wise. Loved this bar and restaurant. Decor is clean and inviting. Fabulous bar and drink menu. Loved the Curry Bowl with generous portions of vegetables. One in our group had the Cobb Salad and the Pesto dressing is to die for! The Fish Tacos are super delicious and the Aioli Ghost Pepper sauce is evenly balanced with no t too big of a bite to it. I love the decor in the Painted Horse. It was open and friendly atmosphere. The staff was attentive and you were well taken care of. We started our meal with Firecracker shrimp with the ghost pepper aioli. It was definitely a tad spicy but still tasty! For our main dish my husband had the Asian Bowl which we thought was extremely tasty. I had the Cobb Salad. It was good but I expected smaller chunks of meat and more greens. Mine was also missing an avocado. I feel like there was probably better choices on the menu. My son had the kids Mac and cheese and fries, which he ate, so that in itself says a lot. read more

Decent place in downtown Bartlesville. Locals recommended we give it a go and we were not disappointed. Plenty of beer on tap, so the visit was off to a good start. We started with 2 appetizers ; zucchini and mushrooms / chilli fries... And more beer. They were ok... The main course we had the Cheesus burger and the Hangover burger. So worth it. This was an ok bar, but it closed a bit early. I guess it seemed late since everything else in town was closed at 9:00. They had cheap drink prices, and service was ok. We stopped by the painted horse to have a drink - they were recommended by our local host. Very laid back bar and restaurant in downtown- love the historic Mercantile feel and the place looks fun and very clean. We sat at the bar and ordered old fashioneds. Drinks were great and the bartender was very friendly as well as the rest of the staff. Also, found out that the owner also owns of my favorite restaurant at my home in Bentonville - the River Grille. We were only stopping for drinks, but the menu looks very good and they were highly recommended. I will definitely swing in again on my next trip. read more

The two tables next to us have had two parties seated, fed, and left as we wait....I'll will keep you posted....... Update...Restaurant closes in 55 minutes , the race is on. After 90 minutes we got our food. Of the 4 entrees, two were correct and two were wrong but the food was good, not great, but good. . My favorite part was we ordered two Ribeye steaks and when they came out they were two very different cuts of meat. I had the Cluck and Squeal which is a pasta dish with grilled chicken chunks and bacon. Smothering the meat was a five cheese sauce, flavored with a hint of jalapeño. It was very tasty. Pleasantly surprised to find this delicious restaurant on my last trip to Bartlesville. For a small town this restaurant has a big city feel to it. My husband and I tried this place out after a 5K run yesterday and it exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is loud, bar type with TVs for games, an upstairs as well as a patio. We decided to sit outside on the patio by the fireplace as it was more quiet. The outside is very relaxing and we got a table right in front of the fireplace. The food was incredible. We started off with the hummus appetizer which is quite large and comes with housemade chips, pita bread and some veggies for dipping. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a house salad for lunch which was incredible. I was iffy on the salad as the quality can vary significantly from one place to another (like iceberg wilted with a few tomatoes throw in vs real lettuce with fresh veggies). The salad was the latter!!! It was upscale, real lettuce and fresh veggies which even included some red pepper and fresh carrots. The pulled pork was the best sandwich I've ever had and came with some aioli on the side which was incredible. My husband ordered the plain Jane burger with jalapeño pimento cheese and said it was awesome. We ate so much that we didn't even need dinner! We will definitely be back!!! read more

FBA (Fat boy Approved) 4 Belly rubs! Showed up with 12 people and no reservation at 5:00 on a Saturday. Took a few minutes to get our table but was faster than expected. Beautiful decor and ambiance to boot. We had mixed drinks and they were spot on with my bloody Mary going above and beyond with all of the fixings. The appetizers - especially the mac and cheese balls were belly rubbing delicious! The onion strings were better than Dink's and that's a hard one to beat (if your from the surrounding area you will understand this). Me and my wife got steaks, her was a sirloin and mine the prime rib. They were both cooked point on and had wonderful flavor. Her steak had a tendon running through it and made it particularly tough to cut and eat. For not being a "Steak house" my prime rib was absolutely delicious! Now the table we were put in was dimly lit, and the service was a mite slow, but it was because the place started busting at the seams moments after we was seated. We will be back that is for sure! We went here Thursday evening. We've been here plenty of times before & was usually a great experience. Thursday was the worst. We received our food an hour and 30 minutes after we were seated (we were seated immediately and was there for 2 hours). Our appetizer came out almost the same time as our dinner and was cold, no warmth to it. When we finally received our dinners, my daughter's cheeseburger was overcooked (she ordered medium) it came out well done and zero cheese. My other daughter ordered sweet potato fries, they were left off. I ordered my burger medium rare- it was past the well done point and the cheesy hash browns that was ordered on the side instead of on it was left off completely. We ordered drinks and they were decent so we thought we'd order another round of drinks. After waiting until we were done with our dinner and was ready to go we requested just to cancel the drinks since it had been so long and after sitting for two hours we were just finished. I will say that my husbands steaks was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. I'm not sure if they've recently hired new help and they just don't have them trained correctly yet or what but it'll be a while before we try them again after that. read more
