This place is a bit Tardis. Meaning on the outside the place looks tiny, then you enter and bam the place looks twice as big. The inside is a tale of two worlds a mash up of old fashioned and cabin modern. I ordered the Root Beer Bbq Baby Back Ribs ($34 - full rack), this is dry rubbed pork ribs, house made root beer bbq, with southern corn succotash with bacon, and sweet potato fries. They were delicious you could actually smell the root beer. I can't say I tasted it, but what I did taste was addicting. The succotash and fries were both excellent. The person I was with ordered the The Paisley Pig Sandwich ($17), which is a pulled pork, root beer BBQ, chipotle slaw, on a toasted stout beer bun. Served with chips. She thought it was excellent. The service was very good and super friendly. The food came out super quick. Overall an easy 5 stars. Would I return? Absolutely. Tucked between a few neighborhoods in Holland, the Paisley Pig is a friendly little gastropub. We went on a rainy evening, and the atmosphere was upbeat and lively. We had no idea how big the portions would be, so we got more than we needed, and still had plenty to take home. Both the pub fries and the Burrata or Notta pizza were delicious, and could've easily been shared between four people. We're looking forward to visiting again soon and bringing some friends along with us! read more

We tried Paisley Pig for the first time last night for dinner. My wife had the Reuben which was a combination of Pastrami and Corned Beef. The sand which was amazing! Grilled perfectly, generous portion of meat and very tasty. I had the Fish and Chips and it too, was very good. Lightly battered with flaky fish, also generous portion. Portions are pretty huge. A pizza is a thick 14" so it can easily feed 2 people. The fries at 10.50 were pretty good but not nearly so terrific as many reviews suggest. If you like fries they are good to share and you won't be upset by any stretch, but please don't think of them as award winning. We had Truffle Along pizza and it was delicious. We also had the kale bowl salad and it was very good if slightly heavy with cheese and dressing (wish it had more greeens and slightly healthier). Just had lunch at Paisley Pig, which is a favorite of my daughter who lives in the area. First, they are doing such an amazing job following protocols of Covid. Sanitizing everything, tables apart, serving food and drinks in throwaway containers. Waitress in masks and checking us out with a handheld credit card machine that I didn't even touch...Love all the work they are doing around the virus challenge...Kudoz! She began to explain how unpredictable walk-in reservations can be but my mind had already given up on eating there. "Boatwerks Waterfront restaurant" hung proudly on the wall above, with Becky underneath still trying her best excuse; or at least she looked like a Becky. In any case unbeknownst to whatever her name is was that another hour of waiting would ruin the road-trip's timing. We had to eat soon, and we we had to make it up north by nightfall. Sitting in the car outside shortly after this deflating exchange my girlfriend spots "paisley pig" in a list of restaurants nearby. only a couple of reviews and not many pictures to boot - I remained unsure. "I can give them a call and see if they have a wait?" She asked. I grunted. A minute later we were on our way. Arriving at The Paisley Pig (S Shore Dr location) something seemed off: too many cars outside for such an average place. Was this correct? Were there several Paisley named joints in this town? Are we at the one to be at? Despite these questions we were here and here apparently had food with no wait so here we would stay. "We have a table right over here for you" Nice. Corner booth, very nice. Teenage server they could have cast for Netflix's Sex Education. Sure, fine. There's a labor shortage I hear. A full bar with some seemingly excellent choice of liquors and a cocktail list to wake Milk & Honey off their laurels? Now wait a New York minute. What kind of place had we just walked into? Why is Blame Canada the best bourbon maple cocktail name ever and why is it this good? Why do Burrata and raspberries pair this well together? Who has the authority to make such a sublime Mac & Cheese dish and call it 'pig Mac'? Why is this the best pizza I've had in Michigan? Why are all Pub Fries in the world an immeasurable disappointment with the exception of these? WHY IS THIS PLACE NOT THE FIRST ON THE LIST OF ANY FOOD PLACE IN HOLLAND? However, as to giving proper identification, I provided a picture of my lost ID via phone, along with my lost ID form that I received from the SOS, as well as my SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. I have had no issues with any other bars proving my identity or age with the documents I presented; the waitress not only scoffed when showed the documents, she would not even READ them. This place was away from downtown, which is not a bad thing but something to consider if you dont want to go that far. We went in quite late on a Saturday evening, so there seemed to be tables available for walk ins. We did have reservation. Our server Keegan was a nice and soft spoken person and was patient with our questions. The inside can get loud but the ambience is more of the fun kind than the romantic kind. My husband tried few of their beer throughout dinner and I went with the smoked liquor cocktail. Obviously smoked liquor is an impressive and flashy looking drink. Nonetheless, the cocktail in itself was very smooth and tasty! For dinner I ordered the lobster roll and my husband had the cuban sandwich. My kids got the nachos and mac & cheese. I am aware that lobster roll is a misplaced order in a place that is all about pig but it seemed like one of their best sellers, so I didnt fight the urge. No regrets because the sandwich was great! My husband enjoyed his cuban a lot as well. But honestly the star was the nachos - we had no idea how HUGE it would be and that it came on potato chips. The pork was so very tasty and tender and the chips and toppings just added up to be a great combo. None of the chips were hiding out without toppings/sauce and each chip got to be the star of the nacho. Within us we couldn't finish the nachos even though we couldn't stop eating it! Paisley pig is by far some of the best food I've ever had. We had the crabby pizza and the award winning shareable fries, and man were they SO GOOD! We had a lovely experience at the Paisley Pig. Our food was delicious, and our server was great. The spinach and artichoke dip was unique (with red peppers and caramelized onions), and I really enjoyed it. They also accommodated our little guy, which is always nice. We luckily came in for an early dinner and were able to get seated right away, because it seemed like they were going to fill up with reservations a little bit later. I will note, it's not super cheap! But, I still felt the value was there between the food, service, and atmosphere. Lastly, the parking was pretty awful. Maybe because snow was piled up, but there didn't seem to be adequate parking at all. So my hubby and I came to pick up an order of a full slab of ribs and swapped out the corn for the green beans and kept the seasoned fries. The meat fell off the bone but the bbq sauce just didn't really do it for me. There was tang but no kick to it. They have a great menu for fall drinks. They all sounded really good. Started with the pretzel appetizer which was yummy. The pretzels were very salty and fresh. It came with a spicy mustard sauce and a cheese sauce. Then I split a build your own pizza with a friend. I'm glad I did split it because it was HUGE! Just have a pepperoni pizza but it was the best pizza EVER! The pepperoni was thick and flavorful, the crust was homemade and crunchy, and the cheese was fresh and so yummy. The pretzel bread appetizer was very good...not sure if the high price reflected it though. Recommended change: anything thats supposed to be crispy(as the name implies) will lose its texture if liquid is poured over or it's plated knee-deep in liquid. Maybe thicken it slightly to a glaze consistency or serve on the side or even perhaps just drizzled. Otherwise the flavors are perfection. Another really great spot for dinner in Holland. We started with a recommendation of the watermelon cider, which was incredibly good. So refreshing. We tried to stop at the cidery on the drive back, but unfortunately it was closed on Sundays. But back to Paisley Pig. We got the Harvest Burrata to share, which had butternut squash, spiced pecans, crispy prosciutto, and a hot honey drizzle. Delicious, and not normally a huge burrata advocate. Then went for the Smoked Brisket Burger, which had bacon, cheddar, provolone, onion rings, chipotle bbq, lettuce, and I got served with sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries were the best - on the savory side. I know there are disagreements here, but sweet potato fries are sweet. You do not need to coat them in more sweetness - it's overkill. The "Pulled Pork Nachos" do not have tortilla chips in them. The "Crispy Brussels Sprouts" are not crispy and are drenched in sauce. And lastly, the "Quinoa Power Bowl" had hardly any noticeable quinoa in it. I was truly puzzled by how poorly they named these items - that or how poorly they executed and served these items. We like the Brussels sprout salad but sometimes it comes with the right amount of Salmon jerky, sometimes hardly any. Sometimes there's a good full order; sometimes it's like a half order. Last night the salad was bone dry. Yes you could smother it with dressing but that's not how I like my salad. We asked for extra bread and that was missing. Problem is that when you have a take out order, who is going to drive all the way back to retrieve missing items? Also, what's with charging customers a container fee?
