So, we made a special trip to Pala to have a late breakfast. Always had good experiences ther, in the past. We get in line, and there is only one party ahead of us. We wait .. and wait ... and wait. We can see at least two tables are open, but the receptionists aren't seating anyone. After ten minutes, or so, I turn around and there is a line around the corner. Finally, we are seated. We wait ... and wait ... and wait. No coffee ... no server. Meanwhile, AT LEAST two parties who were seated after us order, get their coffee, and their food. I go to the receptionist and tell her nobody is waiting on us. THE RECEPTIONIST takes our order. I ask her if the Pala special comes with hash browns AND pancakes, because I don't want both. She doesn't know. I order it, anyway. We get our coffee ... and wait ... and wait... and wait. No food. I see the manager. I ask her to check on our order. Five minutes later, she brings our food. "Sorry, you waited so long," she says. "I'll give you free hash browns". I ask her who our server was supposed to be. She says it was supposed to be Jose. We finally finish our meal, and Jose comes over to clear the table. First time I've ever met my server after eating my meal. When we go up to pay, I ask the cashier if we really have to pay full price for the meal. She calls the manager over, and the manager says, "I gave you free hash browns". So ... Visited on 2/3/2018 at around 7 pm. Ordered sweet potato fries. Rubbery and old. Chef should've never had these leave the kitchen. Server was okay, but hostess...Not pleasant when I asked her to repeat herself, due to shortage of english knowledge. Went to Pala the other night and was hungry. Decided to try the Pala cafe. I ordered the country fried steak with a side salad and an iced tea. The salad came out first and it the lettuce wasn't as fresh as I like it and close to wilted. When the country fried steak came out it was hot and the veggies had good flavor. The mashed potatoes were very good. Some of the country fried steak was chewy but for the most part it was good. It took a while to get seated because a lot of the players were ordering to go at the hostess stand. The wait staff should step in and help the hostess get those dining in seated. I would come back and try the club sandwich as the guy who sat next to me had a really large portion. I'll come back and try again. read more

Place is always off the chain. Sergio is always on top of his game. I recommed him. Always treated as a reguler. So many choices to breakfast to dinner. I get the chicken buffalo sandwich on sourdough. Not on the menu but sergio can make it happen. Its fire with ranch and a ice tea. read more

A great cafe inside a casino. Been here a few times and it has been good. Both times for breakfast and the food was better than I expected. The current time I visited I got the chicken fried steak chicken and waffles. Basicly chicken and waffles. It was awesome. The chicken was huge, along with the Belgian waffle. Plus it came with a side of country gravy, which I could have ate with a spoon it was so good. Forgot to take a pic, but trust me you won't leave hungry with this meal. read more

I went super late at night (around 2 a.m.) and this place really hit the spot. Service was friendly and fast (the guy serving us said they don't call him Flash for nothing!) and the food was hot and delicious. I ordered the Rueben sandwich, and my boyfriend ordered the corned beef hash (no bearnaise sauce). Corned beef hash was corned beef hash--f*cking delicious. Hash browns were nice and crispy on the outside and the eggs were scrambled perfectly. I could have used a little bit more sauerkraut on my Rueben, but aside from that, they didn't put too much dressing, and the rye bread was buttery and toasted, just the way I like it! This is not the "bisness!!!" I've given it a second chance and the Cafe disappointed me much more this time around. The first time I had steak and eggs and the steak was ... horrible! Tough with no flavor. Sooo this time around I order salmon with crab stuffed ravioli ... OK the salmon was perfect it terms of being seasoned and cooked just right, but they messed it up by drowning it in some pinkish-orange sauce that was for 4 raviolis. I mean it was swimming and I was completely turned off. The staff is friendly but the service is a little slow. This place surprised me.... I was expecting so so food, and so so service, but we got neither. The food was absolutely delicious, and I only ordered a club sandwich hot, but it has to be one of the best I have had. And our waiter was great, not to distant, and not to up close. It was a Saturday night and indeed of gambling food. I wanted some sort of sandwich and decided to go with the Philly cheese steak... The service was great and boy was our waitress on top of everything. Every 5 minutes she asked if we needed anything or any refills. When we ordered food literally arrived it was no more than 10 minutes. The sandwich was like a foot long and came which fresh crispy fries .. I have been to many holes-in-the-wall, think alley way dives in old LA Chinatown, NYC off-Canal, San Diego's Barrio Logan. None however, compared to what was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST dining experience I had in my life. To start, the so called hostess greets us without even making eye contacts. Our waitress, literally frisbeed the menus on our table, and WALKED off. My bbq bacon burger came with a gooey sauce (served on the side) that makes a McRib sandwich looks and tastes gourmet. My wife's salmon sandwich, well, there were two buns and something that resembles frozen fish sticks, which we left untouched. The cobb salad came without any dressing. When we asked, our I-DONT-WANT-TO-BE-HERE-TODAY waitress didn't apologize, and snapped the "what dressing do you want" response. Holy cow! I have had MUCH MUCH MUCH better service at Denny's, IHOP, and even 7-Elevens. Is this a restaurant? Do these wait staff work for a living, or are they successful models volunteering their time, as a courtesy to the casino? Lol. All and all, food was a 0 out of 10. Service was a negative 5 out of 10. Oh, I couldn't even find the manager to complain about this. Given this was part of Pala, wouldn't management care about how badly this place is run? Bottom line, if you are hungry, get a bag of chips from the vending machine. It tastes better and you can forego the aggravation. read more

I ordered the veggie burger and their homemade potato salad. I wasn't a huge fan of the salad due to lack of flavor (I had to add salt/pepper and a little bit of hot sauce) but the veggie burger was amazing! My friend order the club and had them toast it...she devoured it as well. Service is a little slow but expected because its a busy casino. read more

My friends and I have eaten at Pala every time we have come to stay which is numerous times a year. We have never had a problem with service or food. The portions are so large we normally end up splitting any meal. They are very accommodating with any type of request. The only issue I have with them is there coffee is way too strong. read more

Best filet mignon EVER. I always love stoping here when my husband and I go to Pala. They always make my food amazingly and the waiters/waitresses are super nice. They know us by now, we stop by so much. But they always make my food to perfection. I look forward to going and eating here. I highly suggest getting the filet mignon. The service For the waitress was awful, her name is Cristina she was so rude!!!!!! She didn't even greet us, she even threw our plates at us!! The food took to long for them to serve it to us!! This is a decent little cafe. Good food, good prices. Nothing spectacular. It was a little perplexing to see a line of people waiting to get in, and a row of two-tops shoved together to become four-tops when most people were in couples. They could have gotten us in faster by better utilizing their tables. Our waiter was very nice, but very scarce... the table next to us had their server visit every few minutes, and we waited like 10 to pay the bill. It was very strange to see our server handling tables far away... why not assign tables in groups? Oh well, we weren't in a hurry. You guys get a 5 star only because the service was superb both times I've went late late night! The host is friendly and the wait staff, which I did dine really late and had two different waitresses on two different occassions. Pleasant experience. They are very attending and personable. I don't get that feeling like I'm being rushed or get the feel that they are tired from thier job even late night early morning. These people were either trained really well with the service or they have really good experience and happen to like thier job or at least show it! I had the pastrami... it was ok... the toasty bread made it good but they could add some juices or dipping to the sandwich... another time I had the pala breakfast... everything was good. I'm glad the breakfast wasn't greasy!!! I was just really pleased with my waitresses always with a smile on thier face and always checking up on me, Great Service!!! read more

The staff was a bit inattentive, but the food was better than expected. The fruits were freshly cut instead that nasty sticky old fruit you would expect from a casino cafe. Every ingredient in my omelet was thoroughly cooked without any burning or mush and the side of potatoes was surprisingly flavorful.
