This place has gone to shit. It's at best a Motel 8 The grounds are nice but rooms are old and nothing special!!!! Front desk lady was rude as hell. Don't book through Trip advisor. Hands down one of the worst hotel/resort stay experience I've ever had. I recently stayed here to be near a wedding venue and everything was disappointing about our King room. They should be ashamed at what they charge people to stay here. The only positives are that the room was large and the grounds outside were scenic and looked nice. The room smelled moldy, stale and dirty. It was so bad that we had go out and buy an air freshener spray. Walls were vile and looked like they hadn't been cleaned properly in years, carpet is stained and gross and smells, the whole room looked like it needed to be fixed up. Bed, pillows, sheets were horribly uncomfortable and the bath tub floor looked like it was out of a dorm room, not a resort. Our blow dryer was actually melted from over use and burning (major hazard, can't believe they left it in there until we complained), which I found out within a few minutes of trying to use it to get ready for a rehearsal dinner. We had to speak to 4 different people before getting a new one and ended up being late to our event. The icing on the dumpster cake is when they lost power for at least 5 1/2 hours and I had to go to friends hotel in a different town to get ready. I get that the power issues were likely out of their control but I've never stayed at a hotel that didn't have generators. The staff was smug, horribly rude, and not accommodating at all when we expressed our disappointment with the numerous issues and asked for some sort of compensation (which we didn't receive). Front desk guy actually told us to "take it up" with the electric company... Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. read more

Horrible experience. We have stayed at this hotel before and it was not bad. This time however, there was a mistake on our hotel bill ... and the front desk staff refused to correct it, continually saying it was my fault when it was not. The mistake turned out to be only $20 difference in the actual price of the nights stay ... but what is up with refusing to correct it? Here is what happened: Since I was a repeat guest and had stayed there before, they sent me an email with several promotions on it for the month of March. We were headed for Temecula for the weekend and I saw the email in my inbox (without even really reading the whole thing). So I called reservations and told them I had an email from them, and wanted a room for Saturday night. They quoted the rate as $139, I got an email confirmation with the rate as $139, AND FINALLY I asked the from desk if the rate of the room was $139 and they said yes. On Sunday morning I got the bill around 11:30am, and it said the room rate was $159 + tax for the "Bed and Breakfast Special." I called the front desk (from my cellphone, because the phone in the room was not working) and the guy who was working there (who by the way, was there at the front desk when I was checking in) at first acknowledged the price because I had that email. Then he said he needed to check with reservations. He gets back on the phone and says that reservations said I had asked for a "Bed and Breakfast Special" which I had not. I repeated that I had an email with a confirmation of the room rate ... he said that did not matter because it was $139 for the room and $20 for the breakfast, which was no where on the email receipt or when I checked in. Also, by the time all of this was figured out .. to add insult to injury ... they had stopped serving breakfast. Yes, the room is nice and big with a big patio and nice grounds, and we actually had a newer LCD TV (aside what the rest of the other reviews are saying). The bed is a king size bed and really nice. ITS TOO BAD THAT WE HAD THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THE STAFF EVER, AND WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. NOTHING IS WORTH GETTING RIPPED OFF ON THE BILL. Wish I am able to give a negative rating. This is the dirtiest/most run down hotel that we have ever stayed at. The place is falling apart and bug/spider infested. Employees have a lack of empathy and could care less about your comfort or your stay at the location. We had no hot water in our shower. My husband has multiple spider bites on his body. The safety lock on our door was busted and haphazardly put back on the molding. The shower/tub had been refinished and the refinish was pealing off and shards of the refinish were in the bathtub that we had to clean so they wouldn't cut our feet. When maintenance came to look at the shower they tracked mud into the room and bathroom and didn't clean it up. We spoke to the front desk in person and from the room and they wouldn't even entertain the idea of a refund and couldn't move us to a different room either. So our advise is to stay as far away as possible from this hotel. Motel 6 would be a much better choice than the Pala Mesa Resort. read more

I went to a restaurant in the resort, reservations made previously, and ordered. They took 50 minutes to bring my order, only for it to be the wrong plate. I informed them about their mistakes but all they did was make excuses about the tired kitchen staff and did not replace my food. Already dissatisfied from the dinner incident, my husband and I went to our room to sleep the frustration away. We wake up little past 12 AM because of numerous unmoderated drunk people, over 10 people, in the pool/jacuzzi making a ruckus. After I woke up, I found many bug bites all over my body, and my husband saw a few bugs with the dim light we had. This was probably the worst experience I had in a resort. I will never go there again nor recommend others to go there. read more

Totally sucks. Golf. Rooms. Price. Won't EVER play or stay here EVER. Stayed here with an Under Par golf promotion. First--the course sucks. Fairways in terrible condition. Greens slick and unfair. And we made tee times three months ahead for TWO THREESOMES. When we arrived they put us out as a foursome and made one couple play with another twosome. Way way uncool. The bar--service friendly but you have to flag them down. Prices UNBELIEVABLY high. Scotch on rocks? $13. La Crema Chardonnay? $13. Really?? Out in the sticks?? The food was good but... When a bill for 6 is over $300 for drinks and bar food. But the best was yet to come. Our room had connecting doors on BOTH sides. Really loud a'hole guys on one side. Loud all night long. When they weren't yelling they were singing the old rugged cross. Way way uncool. Sounded like batchelor party on SUNDAY NIGHT. They were unbelievable. Also--you can hear the 15 from almost every spot on the course, as well as the rooms. This place sucks. Don't stay here. Don't play here. read more

The room was pretty bad. The furniture was beat up and the carpet looked dirty and had a lot of stains. The main dresser appeared to have had it's doors removed and the shelves behind were torn up, with no effort made to make it look better. There were paint spots on the wall that were covered up with mismatched paint. The room was also damp and smelled moldy. The AC worked but the thermostat was old and had some broken pieces on it. I'm glad my gf was a good sport through the weekend but we were both happy to go home. The resort had nice landscaping and the wedding venue looked great. But the buildings were beat up and old. The pool and jacuzzi were underwhelming, I was expecting more from a "resort". The restaurant/bar was decent and the golf course was above average. Wouldn't go back. read more

First our room wasn't ready at 12 like they told us. So they estimated a 1 o'clock check in... Yeah that didn't happen. They knew we had to be on the road for our wedding at 1:45 and completely unable to get ready!!!! So we had to keep out stuff in the car til after. Go to check in at midnight when we get back from the wedding and because the room was purchased for us by the wedding, they wanted to call the groom for permission to give us the room key... Yeah, on his WEDDING NIGHT! So I had to give them my credit card to charge the room to. Completely rude considering my family had half the rooms in this place the last two nights... We arrived at 2pm. The gal at reception (Ajay) informed that check-in is 4pm (why so late???), and that our room was presently being cleaned and would be ready in 35 minutes. At 2:45 we returned to reception, and Ajay said '..another 15 minutes'. Other people were milling around in reception and we learned that they too were in the same boat. At 3:15, now over an hour since we were told 35 minutes, Ajay said '..another 10 minutes'. At 3:50, a gentleman appeared next to Ajay, and apparently sensed our angry vibe as I approached Ajay. He aggressively pointed to a sign on the counter that said Check In 4:00. I said that's fine and good, but we were told at 2pm that we'd have our room in 35 minutes. He protested angrily, saying 'that was an estimate'. Finally, at only a few moments before 4pm, we received our key. Had they been honest up front, we'd have left our bags and attended our affair that started at 3pm. Instead, we missed a big portion of our event. It's a shame, because the bartender, maid, and waitresses were all sweet. The food was good, drinks good room fine. But man, those two up at reception ruined everything. Well worth trying again. Pala Mesa resort has had its share of ups and downs. I am very happy to report things are looking up! As a resident in Fallbrook I like to frequent most all of the popular places, including Aquatera at Pala Mesa. The Sunday brunch is now one of the very best in San Diego featuring an omelet bar and about a dozen other breakfast treat including oatmeal, french toast, pancakes and an assortment of meats. A friend of mine decided to have a birthday boys golf tournament here, so we loaded up the motorhome with food and booze, and headed down here. We arrived around 10am, and set up the beer pong table (P.S. They didn't let us have that table up for too long). We were able to drink our beers in the motorhome, and didn't really get haggled for the beers we carried around the parking lot, which was cool. We snuck a bunch of beers into our bags and started the golf tournament. The course was nice, and well maintained, and was relatively challenging for a novice golfer like myself. The rest of the trip was a blur, because I was relatively hammered. But the course was cool, you've just gotta be good at sneaking in beers. The golf cart girl was really nice, as we had to order some beers and ice from her. Overall it was a cool experience. I enjoyed the course, and the staff hospitality was great. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IN YEARS!!!!! Last night we had a rare opportunity to have a nice date night and not have to worry about picking up/ dropping off our daughter and being her personal taxi so we were super stoked to go to Aqua Terra. Unfortunately we were so disappointed! We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and of course they didn't have us on the list. The hostess was all over the place, running around looking beyond stressed, all the while there was a long line of people trying to check in for their reservations. She said she would have our table ready in about 10 minutes, so we grabbed a drink from the bar and took a seat outside whee she said she would come and find us. Now the view and whole ambiance of the outside area is so beautiful. I love having drinks on a golf course at sunset. It's always so pretty. So this is the reason they get a single star..... For the view ONLY! 25 minutes later, we walked in a looked at the hostess asking if our table was ready. She looked at us, said who are you again? This blew my mind. She said she sees so many people at nig she didn't remember us. We told our name, said she told us 25 minutes ago that she would come get us when our table was ready. Just ridiculous. She was young and inexperienced in customer service clearly. We finally got seated..... Once seated, I noticed 2 serves arguing over who would take which tables downstairs. It just looked so tacky and unprofessional! Our server finally came over to our table and we ordered drinks. He wanted to take our drinks and food order at the same time which I absolutely HATE to do. I like to get my cocktail, and look at the menu on my own time. Either way, we did what he wanted seeing as they were SOOOO understaffed and had way too many people in the restaurant then they could deal with. 25 minutes later......I repeat 25 minutes later, the busses brought the bread and some water. Still no drinks. I had to ask him to check on them because our server hadn't been seen in that whole time. Granted, no other tables around us had their drinks and they all looked pissed off as well so I didn't take it personal. Busses came back, said they weren't ready yet...... 30 minutes later still no drinks. We got up from our table and left. How unfortunate! The menu looked great, although very pricey, but the service is just horrendous! We will never be coming back here and I hope management looked at their reviews and tries to initiate some sort of change cause that is really bad! read more

This was a HOLE in the wall. The TV and furniture are outdated and the walls are very thin. We could hear our next door "neighbors" and upstairs "neighbors". Well, it was better than expected. Stayed here for one night via a discounted rate of $79 from Welk Resorts prior to a timeshare presentation the next day. After seeing all the reviews, I was expecting some sort of roach motel. Fortunately, it wasn't so bad. Rooms: yes, they are older. The place was built in the 1960s-1970s, and for that it's held up reasonably well. Expect scuffs on the desks, cracks in the granite, stains in the carpet, and a not-HD-TV (flatscreen though). That said, the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious (and the free wifi worked fine). For $79, no complaints. For their regular rate, probably not worth it. They are apparently updating in 2 months and redoing everything, so maybe it'll be worth it in 2 months. Service: great staff service. The heating in the room wasn't working, so called the front desk who sent someone over within 15-20 minutes despite it being late at night. Turned out the wires were burned out, so he had us moved to the room next door and went and got the keys for us to spare us a late night drive back to the front desk. Food: Sunday breakfast buffet was subpar. $14 for an omelette bar and a smattering of hot food (sausages that did not taste good, pancakes, hash browns, and eggs benedict) and soggy fruit. I have been to Pala Mesa quite a few times. Once for a weekend-long wedding and a couple more for happy hour on their Aquaterra deck or for brunch or dinner inside the restaurant with friends. You can expect to find a homey golf resort with older, but nice amenities. This place isn't modern. It has a lot of charm. The rooms are nice, mine came with a mini fridge, sink, and view which was very much appreciated. The room was spacious too! The grounds are my favorite part - I woke up with the sunrise while the rest of my party was sleeping to take some very amateur shots of the gazebos, staircases and wedding venues. It is an absolutely beautiful place for a fairytale wedding! Lots of great places to take wedding pictures. And the staff takes care of everything! The basic gym is kind of off the beaten path, but it's a nice warm up run or walk along side the driving range to get there. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we ate a lot there since it was one of our only options but there was no room to complain - I would have eaten at Aquaterra every meal even with a lot of other options. They even have a sushi happy hour on Fridays from 4-6:30 where select rolls are 50% off - and they are beautiful gourmet rolls. They do some kind of special promotion every night I think which is fun. I can't wait to escape to this local gem again when I get a chance! read more

One star seems too much for this dump. I recently stayed here for my daughters wedding. Also a part of the power outage issue. While it was inconveniencing and caused us to relocate our place to get ready, it was NOT the sole reason for my poor opinion. Our room was the quality of a cheap motel with a sign outside noting "no hourly rates available". You see those signs in poor parts of big cities riddled with prostitutes. FYI We had no heat in our room. The refrigerator and the television did not work. I had to walk 2 buildings away to get ice. And I could hear the person in the room next to mine brush their teeth and release their bowels. I can't believe this place is a wedding venue!! Thank God my daughter wasn't getting married here. When I checked out a day early (planned 2 days. Couldn't get away quick enough) and I noted the issues, the clerk told me there was an outage in a 10 mile radius and no hotel was capable of accommodating me. Not true. Thank goodness!! Our venue was 2 miles away and had plenty of power. Not to mention a best western would have been cleaner, had working ice machines and accommodating service. Please note once again that these issues were the night before the power outage. They had absolutely nothing to do with SDGE. This was a poorly run hotel with no regard or knowledge of what a class act location entails. I would not recommend staying here. If the golf course is worth it to you then stay elsewhere and golf for the day. read more

This place has a beautiful location. The view, the greenery, the sky, especially at night it lifts up with all the starts but unfortunately needs some much work. It's very dated. The stairs are not safe, the railings are broken and fixed with nail and wood. Light fixtures from outside the building we're hanging over, the beds were very uncomfortable. The throw pillows were actually seat cushions (yuck). This place has a lot of potential but unfortunately no one has invested any love into this place. I'm only going to speak about the Pala Mesa Resort from the perspective of someone who was planning a retreat for a church. My thoughts and opinions might carry over to someone planning a business event or wedding, but all in all it is regarding using hall space on the property, ordering food through banquet services, and booking rooms for attendees. It all starts with Sarah Raymer who is just kind and extremely responsive. Felt like even before I could contact her she was reaching out to me answering questions I didn't know I needed answered. I travel a lot with work and Sarah was very patient with my lack of response while on the road and then wouldn't panic when I would call and email her 5 times in an hour. Finally the contract signing is just easy and I actually trust this group to live by their word unlike other resorts that nickel and dime you with what isn't in the contract to make their money. Next I worked with Beth Hunt and Lorena Duenas. These ladies are epic professionals who never pestered me and always delivered when I emailed them with plan changes. Our group went from 70 people to 130 almost overnight and they got us extra rooms (for the SAME price) AND adjusted the meeting space without charging us a premium. That's great service. During the meeting James was quick to get me everything we needed right away and was always available. The food selection is great considering our group needed to eat vegan for Lent which is extraordinarily difficult to do for 4 diff meals. The garden pavilion is gorgeous and I would get married there in a heartbeat. We held our morning liturgy there and it was a lovely experience. All around we enjoyed working with Pala Mesa. Sure the rooms aren't brand new but they're way better than a retreat center. We'll be back next year for sure. read more

We recently had a wedding in the Fallbrook area and Pala Mesa was the closest hotel available so we arranged to have a block of rooms set aside for our group. Our biggest complaint/concern was that the receptionist kept giving people different prices for the package we had arranged for our guests. We had to call and talk to management multiple times, very disconcerting. The rooms were nice, and everyone enjoyed the golf though. Hopefully they do better with the weddings held on property. read more

Update: Considering that the GM will only respond to my yelp review and none of my emails, and will only address the power outage, none of our other issues, my rating will stay at 1 star. Multiple parties from out stay have attempted to contact him to no avail, and it seems that each response he has for his yelp reviews is getting worse and worse. The 1 star is only given because their restaurants food is good (and I have to give 1 star according to Yelp). Service was terrible all around. My entire wedding party, including parents and grandparents stayed here for our wedding and we had our rehearsal luncheon here. The lunch was delicious and the lobby was beautiful. When we got to our rooms - we were extremely disappointed. The bathtubs bubble up under your feet, many guests didn't have hot water, flushing toilets, cable, or heaters that worked. Our heater was set at 80 degrees the whole time but with the 1 inch gap under the front door and 40 degree weather outside, the heater was no match. The hotel then lost power, which meant EVERY guest that stayed at this hotel was unable to do things like take hot showers, do their hair, or even turn on their lights. The hotel GM instructed the front desk not to offer any compensation, and never even bothered to apologize. When MULTIPLE parties within our room block attempted to speak with him, he kept his arms crossed and cut them off, blaming the power company for everything. You can't blame the power company for issues that occurred before the power even went out. We probably would have had a better, and cheaper, stay at the best western down the road. While the rooms are spacious, to say they are falling apart and dilapidated is an understatement. I am 100% disappointed in our stay, and my darling Mother-In-Law was completely embarrassed to say that she set up this block. We will never stay here again, and the general manager definitely needs more hospitality training. As we checked out, we heard many other guests that we were not associated with giving the same complaints to the front desk. read more

I'm here for a women's retreat with my church. We were not accommodated well at all. We were not treated with respect. It is painful to say but I do believe that race had a big part to play in the treatment of me and my sisters in Christ. We had a contract for 2 rooms being used, and due to rain we were asked if one of our rooms could be used. This wasn't the problem...the problem came when we weren't going to be accommodated for our being inconvenienced AND they wanted us to walk through the rain to access our room...not the guests that wanted to use the room...then we were told that we didn't have both rooms and our contract clearly stated that we had the right to both rooms. Management need diversity and sensitivity training. We are paying for everything just as each other guest that comes here. We should have been respected just as other guests. read more

We stayed here overnight for a reduced rate from Lawrence Welk Resorts as an incentive. Well, I am very surprised that they would have potential buyers stay in this establishment. Just because you have "resort" in a name doesn't make it so. Although not a Motel 6, I did have higher expectations. If you are looking for night life or things to do after 9, this is not the place for you. Bar and restaurant close around 10 and there is nothing around for miles. Check in-make sure you don't arrive before 4. I arrived around 3:15 and they refused to check me in. Apparently, my room was not ready-yet they were switching rooms for other people. Room-driving to our room, the layout reminded me of apartments or condos. All rooms look to be accessible from the outside. Buildings did need some maintenance, termites? Wood rot? Not extreme or falling apart, but I noticed. Walking to our room from the parking lot I noticed a pile of pine needles with trash near the ice machine, it was still there when we left the next day. There was also a bag of sheets and towels and a side table from the pool next to our door. Not sure if this was their welcome mat for us. ;) The room was non smoking but, there was a smoky smell inside. They did do some upgrades in the bathrooms-new shower heads, mirrors, and decor. The sink was extremely low-even for me and I am not very tall. Bed was not firm- good for those who like a soft mattress. We had a nice view of the golf course. And the room had a refrigerator. Pool-once I checked in they pointed out that I was fortunate to be near the pool. The pool is extremely small, my pool at home is bigger-add kids and that is one tub I rather not dip into. There was what looked like an old dog house in the corner. Bring your towels from your room as there were none at the pool. There is no drink service or food service that I could locate. On the upside there is a soda machine. restaurant-clean, open and the patio is nice if they seat you there. When we asked they gave me a firm no-it was full. We were seated inside with a nice view of the golf course. Food was good. We learned something that night-ordered the Porterhouse medium-waitress didn't bat an eye. What was served was a PORK Porterhouse! This was a first for us. And once we realized it, I was surprised that when it was ordered medium no one questioned it and it came pink in the middle. Still makes me gag a little. I also ordered 2 glasses of champagne,which they charged me for 2 Bottles instead of glasses. Welk incentives-when I booked through Welks they informed me of a 25% discount on breakfast and dinner. At check in they are supposed to include it with your room key. I had to ask for it. Also, you get a 25% discount but they tack on 18% gratuity on the bill. We always over tip for good service, and I hate when you are made to pay it. I did question the waitress and she was more than happy to pull out the coupon out and show me the small print. All I wanted was to see the check with the discount and without. This is when we noticed the extra charge on the champagne. She also said she didn't understand why the Welks Resort sent people there and it was all sales. Strange thing to tell a guest. golf- can't comment since we didn't play. To be fair I will also give the good points. Parts of the grounds are very beautiful-near the lobby and the outside patio area of the restaurant. The rooms are not cramped. The food was pretty good. I had the Japanese pumpkin ravioli and my husband ended up reordering a filet. We also had sushi-I had the salmon, which tasted very fresh and my husband had the firecracker roll, may of been called something else. But the portion on that roll was large and he did enjoy it. The service we had from the bar was attentive. (Please note if you drink your cocktail on the rocks I suggest you order it neat. They added water to my husband's scotch) Those were the only good points. read more

The only reason for the 2 star review is due to the $100 deposit we were charged and it has been just about a month and our money has still not been refunded. We called and were told it takes 31 days. That's ridiculous and this should be notated with the hotel info so that customers can decide whether or not they still want to stay there. Unfortunately, Aquaterra has really gone downhill in the last few years. We used to come at least once a month and even had a "club" membership because the food was so good! They had great steaks and a killer baked avocado appetizer. I dont think we are picky eaters but the cut of meat brought out for the ribeye was just awful. It was somehow lumpy and flat at the same time. Biting into a cut confirmed it a sinewy, fatty mess. I don't expect the best steak ever for $40, but I cannot understand how they could even serve that cut to a customer. Twice. We politely remarked on this when the waitress returned and they brought out another, just as bad, and the chef came to inquire and didn't seem to understand the problems we had with the meat. It was barely edible! In the past the service was hit or miss, but this night the staff did a good job. I really appreciated them bringing out another plate and the chef taking her time to see us. I'd like to think she can recognize a bad cut of meat and was just having a stressful evening or having supplier issues? Still very disappointed with that entrée. I also think the menu has changed for the worse overall (seriously where did the baked avo go!?!) and the plating used to be creative and pleasing, giving Aquaterra the luxury feel that matched the venue and prices. Our main dishes were served on some of the ugliest beet colored plates I've ever seen. The lone bright spot of the meal were the salads and appetizers (tempura asparagus, buffalo sprouts and spinach salad were all very good). A sunset on the patio with drinks and appetizers only would have been a great experience, probably. We will likely return, hopeful that they can get their act together, but so far the changes here over the past few years have been for the worse. read more

I am writing this review as a wedding guest. The venue was beautiful and the greenery created a perfect ambience. They even provided golf cart service to bring guests to the ceremony location which made it easy on us girls with heels. Parking was also free and easy. The set up was open and spacious, providing room for the cocktail area, dance floor, and table setting. All the waiters were courteous and polite. I have to dock stars for the food though... it was.... very unsavory. My chicken was way overcooked, asparagus not properly cleaned on overcooked, and rice had the constituency of mashed potatoes. read more

Came here for a wedding. The rooms and buildings are extremely dated and the golf course was not well maintained. I would have thought it was a low budget public course by the looks of it. I get the fact that it's not necessarily green because it's So Cal, there is no water, even so there was quite a bit of nappy grass. The service seemed pretty good during the wedding and at the counter but the food was less than impressive. I bet in the cooler months, the resort would look way different but it didn't look anything like the pictures looked like on the website and I would hardly call the place a "Resort". read more

Can I do zero stars? This place is run down. No AC. Tube TVs. Multiple ice machines not working. Excuse for everything. I can put up with outdated drapes, ugly bedspreads, twenty year old super soft mattresses, but no AC is ridiculous. Don't do it!!! read more

In the Temecula area for a wedding the bf and I decided to stay here rather than the Pechanga with the rest of the wedding party. Driving up to this "resort" I wasn't very impressed(I mean, when I think of a golf resort I think La Costa..) however I thought I should give it a chance. After driving 3 hours in traffic from LA I just wanted a smooth check in- The girl in who checked us in was SO gracious, patient and just nice, it was definetely a great start. We stayed in room 252, vaulted ceilings, not 5 star but satisfactory. Older tv, nice view of the green and a comfy bed... Honestly, for two nights I slept better than I have in so long! Was it the matress? The sheets were not high count, I think it was the cozy matress! I slept like a baby, seriously. The fitness center was ok, I was still able to get a workout in. It was nice walking on he grounds and the 18 holes didn't look so bad, there were several golfers up at 7 am ready for their game. I didn't eat at the restaurant nor golfed(though I wish I brought my Lady Fairways for the driving range) but for being in the middle of no where I would recommend this place for a city get away and a Temecula Wine Country tour. This review is solely for the exceptional service we received in booking, planning, and overall experience during our wedding process with Pala Mesa. We were married here this past September and had the absolute best experience. I have been coming to Pala Mesa for years as my parents have been long time members. We did our first walk through back at the beginning of the year but due to my husband just starting his job we wanted to wait until the craziness settled. Luckily we finally set a date in May and miraculously Pala Mesa still had the site we wanted available (I was shocked especially because it was a Saturday in September). We met with Briana to go over the paperwork and at that time got the majority of the planning out of the way. She completely went over and beyond during the whole process. Rehearsal Day - Briana took care of EVERYTHING. She told us where and how to stand and pretty much made it brainless (after planning a wedding it was nice having someone completely take the ropes). She answered all questions (even the stupid ones) with a smile on her face. Wedding Day - I was able to check into the bridal suite early which was perfect as we were having an early afternoon wedding. We arrived to the suite which had a nice card from the wedding staff and champagne (nice touch). Wedding staff came and checked on us at least 3 times before the actual wedding. Once the guests had arrived Briana came and got the bridal party. She told each of us when to start walking and even became a somewhat personal assistant by fixing my dress and fanning out the train as I walked up the stairs. The wedding went super smooth. I was so pleased with how the ceremony went. Honeymoon Suite - I'll leave some surprise in case you decide to get married here (five gold stars). More than anything I was so happy with the service that came along with the beautiful venue. Most venues it seems you book the space and then everyone leaves you just to figure it out. I love, love, love Pala Mesa! If we could do it all over again, we wouldn't change a single thing because our wedding was PERFECT! Our experience from beginning to end was EXCEPTIONAL! We still have friends and family who rave about how beautiful our wedding was and how much fun they all had. We had an instant connection with this venue and with our amazing wedding coordinator, Sydney Mole. She made the whole wedding process EXCITING and not as daunting as I had imagined it to be. There will never be enough words to express how much we appreciate everything that Sydney did for us. Her cheerful, bubbly personality made us feel very comfortable from day one. She was patient and kind and answered all our questions without judgement, and trust me, I had a lot of questions. SHE IS A GEM! Sydney also recommended that we hire an off-site coordinator to ensure all our details came together. Our day of went so smoothly because of the communication, attention to detail and dedication everyone had. Pala Mesa is soooo beautiful that you have to go see it in person to really appreciate every element they provide. As I walked up the stairs that led to the ceremony site, I immediately fell in love! I knew in that moment that these would be the stairs that would lead me to my new life as a married woman. While the ceremony space was clear of any décor when we first visited, it honestly doesn't need anything to add to it's brilliance. The beautiful hillside with lush greenery that surround their antique bell tower, the crisp waterfall as a backdrop and the large bell that you ring after saying "I Do" is all that you need! It's serene, peaceful and secluded, which helped build the romance that we were looking for. After we saw the ceremony site, we went to look at the reception space, and OMG!, it's breathtaking. Pictures really don't do it justice... YOU REALLY NEED TO SEE IT IN PERSON! The beautiful draping and amazing chandeliers makes this reception space even more magical. This permanent tent is the perfect mix of indoor/outdoor because we were able to enjoy the crisp outdoor air, it allowed our guests to move freely from tent space to bar and back, but also provided coverage for the comfort of our guests all night. I love that the dance floor was large and open and allowed our guests to dance and have fun all night without worrying about bumping into tables or chairs or even each other. We hired mariachi during cocktail hour and during our dinner service. The beautiful mariachi guitars, violin and trumpet serenated our guests until our DJ took over, started the party, and we danced the night away. Pala Mesa Resort provides so many amenities that really made our experience so special. First, they only do one wedding per day. This was crucial because it meant our wedding was the focus of the entire day and because of its secluded location, there were no wedding crashers. Their list of preferred vendors is amazing and I strongly recommend going with people who know the venue. We had an amazing bridal suite that was available as early as I needed on the day of my wedding. This bridal suite is just steps away from ceremony and reception space, which made it very convenient. We had a beautiful honeymoon suite and had champagne waiting for us in our room. Pala Mesa offered us a room-block at a great discount since we had a lot of friends and family who were from out-of-town. This was a major bonus that most venues don't offer. We also selected to do a farewell brunch for our guests who stayed overnight and the breakfast was AMAZING! We highly recommend Pala Mesa Resort for every occasion! They went out of their way to make our BIG DAY the most amazing day possible. As cheesy as it sounds, it truly was the happiest day of my life! We're so blessed that we were able to celebrate this next chapter in our life with all our friends and family in such a beautiful and magical space. Some of my good friends recently got married here so as a part of the wedding party I got a room here for the weekend. The room was clean and comfy. I wasn't there to hang in my room so the amenities were perfect for us. Staff was very friendly. The room seemed a little expensive but I guess that's what you can expect from a "resort". The grounds are very beautiful and a nice spot for a wedding. Another plus is that they're pet friendly, but they charge $50 for the pet fee. That's one of the highest pet fee's that I've ever paid. A little excessive if you ask me. Overall is was a nice stay. I probably wouldn't stay there for any other reason though. read more

Golf rates are going up? The golf course isn't busy in the afternoons so it's nice to play 18 in about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. However, the pro shop told me when I played last Tuesday that the price had gone up from $34 to $40. I showed them their own website where it said twilight was $34. They reluctantly ("I'll give it to you this time, but...") followed their own pricing schedule and charged us $34. The course wasn't busy at $34 for twilight, how many more golfers will they attract after the 17.6% price increase? read more

Can't express enough how WONDERFUL Alexis & Jacob's wedding at Pala Mesa Resort was! Both Luciana and Sydney were marvelous to work with every step up the way and were truly "personally interested" in making sure this special day went well! The Wedding and Reception venues were picturesque with the waterfalls, landscaping, wedding bell and so much more!
