Wow! I was so blown away by every aspect of our experience at the Palace Arms. I had mentioned, on opentable.com, that it was our anniversary and my husband graduated with his masters degree. Upon being greeted at the entrance, the hostess congratulated us on both events. We were seated and I was given a rose. Through out the night, every staff member came to our table to congratulate us. The service was impeccable. So here is what we ordered....at the recommendation of our waiter, we ordered the smoked pheasant soup. Get this soup. It was voted one of the top 100 dishes to have in Denver. It is creamy, smokey and delicious. For our main courses, I got the scallops. They were perfectly done. Perfect portion size. Beautiful presentation. My husband got the sea bass. Perfect, again. We split their "interpretation" of cheesecake. It involved bites of cheesecake with several different types of sauce. Strawberry, chocolate, lime, etc. At the end of the meal, they also served us homemade macaroons. The whole experience far exceeded our expectations. It was one of those things where with every bite you are saying "This is unbelievable." Then on to the bison with foie gras . . . very rich. Finally, the chocolate soup. Me and my friend road tripped to Colorado, and after eating "road trip" food for a few days we decided we need some real food. That combined with the fact that neither of us had ever eaten very fancy, we decided to try something new and eat at the Palace Arms restaurant. After dressing up in our fanciest H&M clothes we decided to try and look like royalty and eat where not many young college students venture. So the adventure began. As soon as we walked up we knew we didn't belong here, but we decided to pull out every ounce of manners that we had ever learned from our mothers. When we sat down we instantly were treated like VIP's. We were checked on by about 5 different people throughout the night and everybody was extremely polite and made sure we were taken care of! As far as food goes, it was possibly the best thing my taste buds have ever experienced. I got the "loin of lamb" and I couldn't tell you any of the ingredients other than it had Lamb in there, mixed with a variety of extravagant combinations. Made reservations just several hours prior to arriving on a Saturday. If you decide to come here, ORDER THE CAESAR SALAD. You will not be disappointed. Your server will make the dressing and prepare the salad in front of you. Everything from the dressing to croutons to lettuce was spectacular. They offer bread when you arrive. Try the onion brioche, if they have it. Onto the entrees: I had the salmon (48). The skin was crispy, but the flesh was soft -- almost like sashimi, but not as raw. My mother had the halibut (50), which was equally delicious. The halibut was cooked to perfection and served with mushrooms. My sister had the Colorado Trout which came with really tasty potatoes. They didn't have any vegetarian options on the menu, but when requested, the chef put something extraordinary together! The presentation was great and the food was excellent. It was a combination of roasted veggies and duck eggs. We finished dinner with the banana foster, which they also made in front of us. The banana foster comes with two scoops of homemade vanilla ice cream. We honestly could have split one order, but ordered four and we finished all of it. Service was excellent. In this case, that means it's taken a year for me to have two trips to base a review on, because the Palace Arms is a fancy, special occasion place. I have been twice, both times on our anniversary. The first year everything was outstanding! The food was amazing, the service was impeccable. The second year was just a shade less impressive. The servers seemed hurried, and it was a bit of a let down from the year before, though the food was just as incredible. The palace arms feels like the kind of restaurant your grandfather saved paycheck for so that he could propose to your grandmother. It has a unique old school atmosphere that is complimented with fabulously rich and heavy flavors. Inside the stylishly old Brown Palace hotel is the Palace Arms, that has a 19th century European motif that gives it a special charm, setting it apart from the typical high end Denver restaurant. I had the tasting menu that started with pressed pork, followed by the table side Caesar salad, entree of Rossini and dessert of Creme Brûlée. The pressed pork was so so, prepared a lot like pressed duck it is pan fried crispy pork belly. It didn't do anything special for me and I've had much better pork belly elsewhere. Table side Caesar was well done with a perfect consistency and flavor, aside from the cheesy jokes by the server. The Rossini was absolutely perfect! Served with rapinni (spellcheck) and Demi glaze, topped with a piece of foie gras. I have to say that the foie was a bit over the top and didn't add anything new to the dish but I mean it's foie gras on a steak so I can't really complain. The meal was excellently crafted and I could taste the slightest of details, like the Demi glaze's rich stocky flavor, or the rich fatty egg yolk in the salad. Hands down the single best dining experience I've ever had. As mentioned in the other reviews it is pricey but that should be fully expected and is worth every penny IMHO. The service was professional, efficient, and pleasant. I overheard our waiter telling on of his other tables that he'd been at Palace Arms over 11 years. That is a lot table side ceaser salads and bananas foster, both of which were expertly made for us and were delicious. The Foie Gras was excellently prepared as was the Buffalo Rossini. My wife had the Wyagu Beef that was also incredible. The only thing that I didn't absolutely love was the lobster bisque, I felt it was average for lobster bisque. My wife had the Consomme and said it was fantastic. The atmosphere is impressive as they have art and other paraphernalia that once belonged to Napoleon Bonaparte, pieces that should literally be in museums. My recent meal at the Palace arms was probably the most memorable and excellent meals that I have had in a long time. We had a small party in the private dining room (Independence Room) which was the perfect venue. It was in celebration of our wedding. When dining at the Palace Arms, you feel like you are stepping back into a more classic time which is something that is quite unique and refreshing. We had them prepare us a wedding cake (chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate ganache). It was absolutely splendid. I can't think of a more perfect restaurant in Denver for a special occasion. I'm so glad we decided to have our special celebration in the Palace Arms. The Brown Palace will forever be a really special place to us. The hotel is rich with Denver History and now is an important part of our own personal history. Both my husband and I are excited to come back for future anniversary dinners and special occasions. Just immaculate and outstanding!! My husband and I did some research on "top-notch" restuarants around Denver, since it will be our first time there and found this place. After reading lots of reviews, we thought we'd try this restaurant. This restaurant is worth every penny on food and service!! If you're looking for something simple, this is not the place, but if you're leaning toward a memorable evening, you should definitely go here. We were very impressed with the gentleman who seated us laying our napkins on our laps and moving the table side to side for seating access. The waiter handed us a novel of wine lists which was a little overwhelming but they covered each and every wine on this planet. However, thank goodness for Eric (sommelier), who was super knowledgeable on the wine list and was able to dial in our palates on what we wanted and then suggested wines we wouldn't even have thought about and ended up loving and drinking instead. We had the 8 course meal, due to celebration of our wedding anniversary and MBA graduation of my husband. It started off with a fresh and crisp lobster salad and ended with a table-side preparation of cherries jubilee-and since it was a special occasion, Eric stepped in again and suggested a great full-flavored Port that matched it perfectly. Everything was great about the restaurant and servers! The only disappointment was the deconstructed keylime pie, which was super tart and the sorbet hidden in the middle didn't match our taste well at all. Dinner here was such a amazing experience! The decor is beautiful and it truly is a historic landmark in Denver. The customer service was phenomenal and the food was to die for. I brought my boyfriend in for dinner and boy was it delicious. We had the table side caesar salad, tagliatelle with black truffles, filet, halibut and the bananas foster. Our favorites were the tagliatelle, filet and the bananas foster was certainly a must! I highly recommend this fabulous spot especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. I had low expectations for Palace Arms during restaurant week (It's a pretty limited menu), but was BLOWN AWAY by the service, atmosphere, and the food. Yes, we visited for RW 2010, and before we left I glanced at their menu online. You have a choice of 1 appetizer - Caesar Salad for 2 prepared tableside, 2 entrees - Salmon or Beef, and 2 desserts - Chocolate soup or macaroons. (In the case of the dessert there is really only 1 choice, because I'm not going to go to Palace Arms and just have cookies for dessert. It's just not happening.) Basically, I felt like I was going to a wedding, and I had to choose my main course - beef or fish? I had very low expectations because of the very few choices, and seeing as it was rated at 5 stars on Yelp, I had much cognitive dissonance going on in my head. I was also expecting the restaurant to be dead, being Tuesday night and all. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at how busy the restaurant and lobby of The Brown Palace was. It was buzzing! We were seated and had to wait a few minutes before I could order my drink, but besides that wait we received very attentive service throughout the night. The Caesar salad for 2 prepared tableside was a little bit of show, and a lotta bit of delicious. I almost licked my plate, but then remembered where I was. Both me and my wife had the Beef offering for our main course. It was basically a deconstructed Beef Wellington, and it was out of this world! Topped with foie gras that had been pan seared to keep its shape and a beautifully flavorful demi-glace, the beef was cooked perfectly to my asking and juicy and tender to boot. Everything about this dish screamed luxury. It was plush. Finally, for dessert, Chocolate Soup! Oh, what a treat this was. I was intrigued when I saw it on the menu, and it totally delivered. You know the scene in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (The Gene Wilder one, not the Tim Burton one, although it had this scene too) when the winners first enter the factory and see the chocolate river? Ever since I first saw that when I was a kid I wanted to drink from that river, and Chocolate Soup finally let me live out that dream. Rich, velvety chocolate washed over my tongue in an explosion of perfect sweetness and chocolate. I had to peer into the kitchen to see if they had the chocolate river flowing through it, and if they did, I was planning to dive in. We had the carrot soup, ocean bass and Colorado hamburger. All were magnificent. The cook sent chomps of tortellini and a sorbet intermezzo. Administration was first class. Wine list is brilliant. Had dinner here last night with friends visiting from Santa Fe. Dinner was fantastic, service was wonderful, our server Kendra made the night very special. She even took the time to answer some specific question I had in regards to the history of the bldg and she showed us a few special pieces in the dining room. 3 of us had the catch which was Haddock, AMAZING! The Palace Arms restaurant in the Brown Palace Hotel is perhaps the last bastion of luxury dining left in Denver. The dining room evokes the feeling of old money and the kind of civility that has long been left behind by more modern establishments. I found this grand dining room to be a treasure. The lighting is dim but not dark. On every wall there are beautiful antique flags and prints. But, don't let the antiques mislead you; this restaurant may have kept it's fin de siecle flair, but the food is very progressive. The chef is one-of-a-kind as he infuses time honored dishes like lamb medallions and crab cakes with subtle asian flavors. He even came to our table twice to chat and ask how we liked the food. It was that kind of attention that we really appreciated. Moreover, I can't remember the last time I had a caesar salad prepared tableside and it's probably the best caesar I've ever had - well balanced, subtle lemon flavor and crispy. The staff is cordial and helpful without being the least bit stuffy. And, did I mention that you do not need a jacket? By far the nicest dining experience I've ever had. We had the opportunity to come here for our first anniversary since we'd gotten married at the Brown Palace and it was included in the package. I already have a massive love for this hotel and its old-world style, and this simply was another layer of icing on the cake. The staff was incredible, and very helpful. My husband and I have never had a dining experience like this before, and they were incredibly helpful and patient, while continuing to give 5-star quality service. But the food, I can't even begin. I don't eat non-kosher meat, but there were plenty of fish options for me that were to die for (not so good on the vegetarian, but I've heard if you call ahead they can absolutely accommodate). The tuna and gnocchi appetizer I had was unlike anything I've ever eaten before in my life (you MUST order it), and the Alaskan halibut entree was delicious and perfectly cooked as well. My husband had a rabbit appetizer and the lamb as a the main course, and he hasn't stopped talking about how wonderful they both were. In addition, they remade a layer of our wedding cake to take home, and it was everything I had remembered and more. The only concern was the chocolate soup for dessert. It is literally a couple of pieces of cheesecake that they pour a good couple of inches of melted chocolate on. I don't know what I was expecting, but boy was it rich. Too rich. So rich that I made myself sick rich. But it was definitely was tasty, so maybe I'm just not used to food like that. Expensive, absolutely. First off - there is live music in the lobby from 430 -730. I suggest making reservations for dinner at 7 or 730 but getting there at 630 or 7 to enjoy the music and a drink in the gorgeous atrium before dinner. The band is warm and so talented, it was fun to relax and soak in the ambiance while watching couples dance. Great build up to dinner. Went for something special last night for our 13th anniversary. The staff were extremely attentive and service was of the highest quality. They treated us right with extra special touches after asking about any special occasions. There was a tasting menu so our only choice was between 6 and 8 courses. We anticipated small fancy portions so went with 8 but I was completely overstuffed by the end--that was my fault for miscalculating. Really when you factor in the delicious fresh bread options and tasty butter, amous bouche, and pre-dessert, it ends up being 11 dishes. Definitely would've chosen 6 courses if we went back again. I'd compare the entire experience to a high quality dance or orchestra performance...not all the numbers or renditions were a personal fave but I appreciated the artistry and skill that went into each piece. I think it's unrealistic to expect to love every single course since it is a set tasting menu and making everyone happy is impossible...go into it with an open mind and focus on the freshness and care for the ingredients, appreciate the creativity and the quality of it all and you won't be disappointed. So yeah, I didn't love and wouldn't have chosen to order every course if given the freedom, but I really could appreciate what they're doing. I feel like, if you "want it your way" go to Burger King. You're there to experience THEIR tasting menu. All that being said, my fave courses were: - the beef cheek taco on house made tortilla (WOW!) - the sort of deconstructed Caprese salad with black truffle (holy moly every piece of that was utter perfection) - the pork belly (so smoky and delicious) - Colorado ribeye with mushroom sauce (yum!) - watermelon granita with moscato (light and fresh, perfectly sweet) Didn't love: - cucumber soup - fish and chips - poached salmon - strawberry tart It was all kinda blah. The service was excellent but the food was only at best one star. We had the four course offering. We both had the squash soup and beet salad which was OK. I had the seabass, which was over cooked. My wife had the beef medallion which was over seasoned, over cooked, and tough. Actually it was horrible, I tried one corner of a medallion and it was not edible. I sent it back for my wife. They did try to rectify it but we ended up with them not charging for her meal. Frankly it seemed like they just had everything prepared and just warmed up the meal. It hurts my heart a bit to give the Palace Arms a three star rating. I had been here twice before for restaurant week, when they used to participate, and each time the experience was phenomenal. I recall having a filet mignon that was possibly the best steak I've ever eaten, with a big chunk of foie gras on top... divine. I therefore had high hopes for my dinner reservation this past Saturday, which was my partner's and my Christmas present to each other. The amuse bouche was a chunk of cold, pickled carrot with micro greens. It tasted... good. Not great, and not an exciting intro into our meal, but it turned out to be an appropriate one. The seared diver scallop appetizer was also good, and definitely elevated by a generous topping of caviar. The lobster spring roll app was my favorite savory taste of the evening. It contained large, tender pieces of lobster, with foraged mushrooms and other fillings, with a beautiful balance of flavor and texture. My partner didn't like it, so I got to eat two out of the three pieces we were served - bonus! The brioche and french bread, and soft, salted butter, were perfect. We both had the 5280 beef entree. The beef itself was perfectly cooked, pretty flavorful and tender. The potato terrine tasted like... potatoes. I love potatoes, but I guess I expected something more. I'm actually not sure what part of the dish was the cauliflower "gratin" (quotes are from their menu), which was disappointing because I also love cauliflower. The green bits were nicely cooked, tender yet crisp. There were two sauces, one already on the plate and one which our server poured over the dish. The dark, thick one on the plate was delicious; the other one had a mild flavor. Too mild. The black forest cake, which was a perfect portion for two to share, was good but not outstanding. The highlights of the evening were the generous pieces of flourless chocolate cake with pistachio cream that came with our bill (YUM!!), and the two loaves of complimentary gingerbread to take home. Our waiter was also fantastic; attentive without hovering, professional but friendly. I dearly wish the Palace Arms would participate in restaurant week (maybe now that there will be a higher price point offering?) so I could visit without dropping $230. We made reservations at Palace Arms to celebrate a friend's big birthday on Christmas Eve. I spoke directly with the dining department when making my reservation. Once seated at our table we were surprised to learn that rather than having the entire menu to choose from, our only option was their prix fixe dinner, which included a small salad, beef wellington and a dessert, and there was no price quoted on the sheet they gave us describing the meal. These are details I would have expected to hear when I made the reservation, but were never mentioned. Sadly, the service was terrible - our salad was served before our dinner drinks arrived, and the entree was served right on top of that. We had to ask for the same things several times: a new fork, bread, etc. I can understand that in an average restaurant, but certainly not this one! The salad was surprisingly small and the dressing was undetectable. We were told our beef wellington would be served medium rare (which we preferred) yet it came out medium well and with undercooked vegetables. The best course of the three was dessert. So imagine our disgust when the bill arrived, and the price of JUST the meal was $175.00 per person, and no, that didn't include drinks! Normally their highest priced entree is in the $70 range so this was well more than twice what we were expecting! Should we have asked the price? In hindsight yes, but we never dreamed a restaurant held in such high esteem would stealthily and blatantly rep off its guests! I will never set foot in any Brown Palace restaurant again! read more

This was a perfect dining experience for an anniversary celebration. We purchased a TravelZoo deal for $149 that included Dinner for 2 people including 2 dishes from the first or second course menus; 2 entrees; 2 desserts; and 1 bottle of Esser wine. Every course was delectable and they also included an intermezzo between the first course and the main course, and an sour lemon sparking drink to cleanse the palate before dessert. The desserts, although delicious, we're not the highlight for us. The dishes were inventive and forward thinking and the decor and service were superb as well. Not entirely sure how to feel. I really enjoy the old world ambiance of the entire hotel, and especially the restaurant. The service provided is also wonderful. However, we were just a bit underwhelmed with the food. The portions really are tiny, so thankfully we weren't that hungry. But I also split my plate, so maybe it's just not for splitting. We ordered the wagyu tartare, which was quite nice, along with the surf and turf, which was moderately good. Anyways, I'm just not sure. I think there are way better options in Denver for some phenomenal food. It's a good option if you don't want to leave the hotel. read more

My friend and I had a great meal here while staying at the Brown Palace, and it wasn't even in the restaurant! Due to state law my friend and I were not able to open any of the high end wines that he brought from california in the actual restaurant, but the people at Palace Arms were wonderful in delivering our meals in stages to the room so we could enjoy a Marcassin pinot with the meal. Our room service waiter Dante was truly professional and a joy. Our first course was the truffle risotto for me and the foie pate for my friend. Both were wonderful with my friend raving about the flavor in his dish. Next I had the bison with foie and Madera sauce- amazing and the best dish I have had all week (we have eaten in great restaurants every night since thanksgiving.) My friend had the suckling pig which was also a treat. Dessert was the chocolate soup- several items served in a generous portion of hot chocolate sauce delivered about an hour after the start of the meal.Very nice when accompanied by a hot cup of decaf coffee. Overall a wonderful in room dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone who has brought their own high end wine and would like to enjoy it with an appropriate meal read more

I have been dining at the Palace Arms for 30+ years until recently I never had less than a 5 star experience the server a stringy long haired girl brown hair brought out the Ceasar salad cart all the ingredients were already mixed except the croutons she poured the ingredients over the romaine lettuce added the croutons and swirled the bowl and ingredients that was it she served the salad I found a hair folicle in my salad I stopped eating the salad and suggested to my guest that she skip the salad course I ordered the trout my guest ordered salmon both dishes were very good I ordered a mid priced champagne served properly chilled and for dessert we had the rasberry flambe for 2 it was uneventfull I do not think there was a full shot of Chambard liquor on the flambe I ordered the coconut macaroons she stated they were out the melba toast was very good with butter all in all a complete dissapointment when Ruche was there this could never of happened I ran into Ruche in Georgia a few years back he made the room hop the pulse was so different now this is just another hotel restaurant in a downtown location very sad to see the slow death of civility at 1 of my favorite haunts . read more

What can one say about the Palace Arms? Venerable, elegant, comfortable. This is a main stay of the fine dining in the city of Denver. Our reservation was at 8:00 PM. We arrived but were told that the party ahead of us had not left but would be finished soon. We were escorted to bar and were treated to a cocktail as we waited. Five minutes later we were seated. I had the seared scallops and we shared the Caesar salad. It was prepared table side. It was followed by the filet and the caviar and shaved truffles. My dinner partner had the Coq Vin and Foie Gras. You can't live in Denver without hearing stories of the Brown Palace. I was sure it would be amazing, but thought it couldn't possibly live up to the hype. But guess what? It did. The atmosphere and service are remnisent of "the good old days," and I now know why my 85-year-old aunt laments that going out to dinner just isn't like it used to be. I discovered this before we even walked in, when the valet not only ran around to open my car door, but offered his hand to help me out. This is my first experience of this other than in the movies. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful, with excellent service from the bar and a 3-man band playing music in the background. They also give all females a long-stem rose at the end of the night-- possible the classiest thing ever-- but I'm getting ahead of myself. The restaurant itself is exquisite. Our needs were anticipated (my fiance's dad's drink was never less than 1/4 full)-- at one point we counted seven servers for the fifteen or so tables that were there. The wine list is literally a book, complete with a table of contents. Of course, the food was amazing. The amuse bouche was a lobster salad, and it only went uphill from there. The onion rolls were to die for, and I would have had more bread but I decided to save room for everything else. The mushroom soup, creamy while cream-less and topped with lump crab, was one of the most amazing soups I've ever had. My fiancé loved the chestnut soup as well. For my entree I had the fish, which was perfectly cooked: crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, topped with a delicious garnish I didn't recognize and a wonderful light sauce, served with crispy risotto. Apparently the Wagyu beef and filet were fantastic as well. If you somehow have room for dessert, they're excellent (we tried the chocolate souffle-like one as well as the gelato), plus you're given some truffles and cookies at the end of the night. It's definitely a huge splurge, but Palace Arms is definitely deserving of its five stars, and worth experiencing without a doubt. read more

What a waste of money (and time). With a reservation we were seated. eventually a drink order was taken. 20 minutes later my martini arrived 1/2 spilled from the glass. The waiter was very uninterested in our 2 top. After two hours waiting for our $70 apiece filet wellingtons they finally arrive. I asked the manager if he was aware of our wait. Yes. "let me pour you a glass of B.V. Cab". I think BV Cab is about $13 bucks a bottle. No apology - no nothing. I'll never go back to this place again! I'll cut right to the chase: the price you're going to pay isn't worth the food you're going to eat. In fact, the price was literally more than my last three Valentine Day meals COMBINED...it was totally ridiculous. The service was good and the atmosphere was cool (in a French Revolution kind of way), but the price was way too rich for my blood. To make myself feel better, I kept thinking, "Well, maybe John, Paul, George or Ringo sat here...", which I knew was bullshit since we had the corner booth by the entrance and no one wants to sit there. I have been dreaming of going back to the Palace Arms for about two years because the last few times I had gone, my meal was so dreamy. In fact the whole experience was dreamy. I love love love the historic, quiet atmosphere and the service is wonderful. So when our friends asked if we wanted to go for restaurant week, we said HECK YEAH!!! But our meal, tonight, has cured me of dreaming about the Palace Arms. For $45 a person, we started with one oyster with bacon marmalade. It tasted so nasty, we all had to gulp down a glass of water just to get the taste out of our mouth. No wonder they gave us just one - more would have done us in. Out next "course" was a beet salad. it had golden and red beets with a small amount of goat cheese and walnuts. You would have to love beets which my husband does not. The two options for a main entree were salmon and steak. We ordered one of each. The salmon was probably some of the worst fishy tasting salmon I have ever had. It also tasted more like smoked salmon (lox style) than fresh salmon. Also it was so salty, I could hardly eat it. With this very small piece of salmon came.....ONE brussel sprout and MORE beets! OY VEY!! My husband ordered the steak which was the equivalent of about three bites and ONE small potato....He felt so sorry for me about hating the salmon that he sacrificed himself and ate my food and gave me most of his steak - 1.5 bites. The dessert was probably the best part of our $45 meal. It was an orange something with an ice cream bar the size of my pinky finger. The service is still superb and the atmosphere is wonderful, but we actually had better food at the golden corral. Save your money and forgo the Palace Arms. However....maybe their regular menu items are better. read more

Yes, it's old school and a little stuffy, but what an amazing experience for a special occasion. Don't go in expecting to have a cheap or quick meal. If you go in expecting top-notch service and delicious food, you'll be happy. Honestly, I am so used to be rushed in and out of restaurants it did seem like there was a lot of time in between everything, but I kept having to remember.. this is a special occassion. I am enjoying my husband's company. What a nice date we are on for our 5th wedding anniversary. Deep breath and I stopped with the impatience! We splurged and got the 8-course tasting menu. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, and it's not because of the price ($130 actually is reasonable for what you get) but because it's an inordinate amount of food to try to eat in one sitting. And it's not the kid of place where you ask for a doggy bag. Highlights of the meal were the fois gras - pairing it with cherries is brilliant, the Basque seafood soup (my personal favorite course), tableside caesar salad (I am a sucker for anything prepared tableside) and the bananas foster, also prepared tableside. The bison that is part of the Rossini was melt in your mouth delicious as well. As I mentioned the service was top-notch. Really, service should be like this everywhere. Lots of people always there to bring you whatver you need, refill your water, answer questions. I probably won't go back anytime soon but it's a must try for any special occasion! read more

This is a rating that includes service and food quality, but not value. The service is excellent. They really make you feel special. I ordered the four-course menu: crab appetizer, bouillabaisse, ribeye with potato cake, and brownie dessert. The crab and ribeye were excellent. I could have done without the sauce on the ribeye, but it wasn't bad. The soup and brownie were fine, but not outstanding. The ability of the chef was excellent and presentation was impressive as well. The problem is I don't think the food is worth the price. The four-course menu is $85. I've had much better steak + soup dinners for about $50 or $60. So I wouldn't come back. But I had a gift certificate. And it was an enjoyable time. read more

To die for. I dined alone, but they made me feel like a queen. I had the best foie gras of my life, which i can only describe as grilled warm mouse with a glass of sherry. For dinner, the bison filet mignon. I couldn't finish everything. The food was intoxicating. The clientele stuffy and conservative. Wonderful ambience, service, food, and experience! Read from a lot of haters about portion-size and saltiness, but found our visit to be worthy of praise! Harrison took great care of us as we quietly celebrated a birthday. The Birthday Girl ordered a spinach salad along with the ivory salmon (adding a lobster tail and caviar) and was very pleased with her selection! I opted for the 5-course tasting menu and had the chef decide. I enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad, tartare, lamb, halibut, ribeye, and terrine. The neapolitan dessert was exquisite. I would highly recommend the Palace Arms from our experience there. We usually celebrate at The Palm, but this is quickly becoming my new favorite downtown Denver restaurant! A+ read more
