Okay this place is a bit overhyped. The membership is $25 and you gt discounted $40 massages if you pay cash. But go to either the nextdoor Far East Massage (equally good in my opinion) or Green Leaf Spa (far superior but further away) and it is $40 without requiring a membership. I just don't quite get why it gets such rave reviews. The massages are okay but they are exactly the same that you get at the 4-star Far East Massage place (which I actually prefer due to their hot stone massage deal). I've tried this place probably 4 times, Far East probably 7 times, and recently have settled into Green Leaf Spa - their masseuses are the strongest of the three spas and the most knowledgeable. read more

I got some man who gave me a ten minute foot rub then squeezed and pushed the rest of my body for 50 minutes. I complained and the woman up front giggled and said she'd give me a discount next time. Today was my first time visiting Palace Spa, and I was very happy with the experience (60 min foot massage and 60 min hot stones back massage). 1. I booked the appointment same day, no problem! 2. I arrived on time but they were running a little late. No big deal though: they set me up in a nice comfy chair and offered tea/water/etc. 3. First came the foot massage (reflexology). The lounge chair was very comfortable, the lights were dimmed/soft purple, and the music was soothing. The foot massage/body reflexology was great! The man (unfortunately didn't get his name) was very professional and checked to make sure the amount of pressure was fine (it was). 4. Next was the hot stones back massage. It was wonderful! The same man did the massage and everything was great: I was very comfortable and relaxed, the stones were the perfect temperature, and the pressure was just right as well. 5. After I finished getting dressed, I was provided with some tea. I headed back out into the front sitting room where I enjoyed cookies and a nice chat with the young woman at the front desk. When I can here 3 years ago, the service was incredible and I had the most amazing massage. Unfortunately, when I returned this time, it was nothing short of horrible. I booked my massage online for a one hour sports massage which highlights "trigger point" in the description. When I arrived, The lady at the front desk checked me in and gave me a paper and had me circle the parts of the body that I wanted massaged & asked about my pressure- I circled back side only, lower back and legs and feet, and light to medium pressure with working out my trigger points. The man that massaged me did a bit on my back, hardly any on my legs and didn't once touch my feet. Not to mention, did not work out a single trigger point. It almost felt like he was just squishing my skin together with his fingers- definitely did not feel like any other normal massage I've ever had. His pressure was incredibly hard, to the point where I had asked him multiple times to please do later pressure which is never a good sign if you're asking more than once! He then asked me to turn over onto my back and went on to massage my neck and arms which again, I did not ask for. I went out front and explained to the front desk lady how I will not be coming back. I was incredibly disappointed that I am paying money for service that I'm not getting, let alone, asking my requests on what I would like to get massaged and completely disregarding that; it's very disrespectful and makes me feel invaluable as a client. read more

Good experience with a few stumbles. (Warning: Review is pretty long. I'm covering all the bases.) Today was my first visit at Palace Spa. I was in desperate need of a massage. Yesterday I went to Waterworld for 6-8 hours going on every neck-jerking ride and then slept in an odd position, so my neck and back were KILLING me this morning and throughout the day. I went on their website to book an appointment. The process seemed easy enough. Apparently it doesn't work the way it should though. You first pick the service you would like. I chose the 30 minute foot massage + 30 minute full body for $35. This seemed like a great value to me. You then choose the person you'd like to give the massage. I chose Shelley. All of this seems great in theory. However, when I arrive the nice receptionist begins asking me for something. I cannot understand what she is asking for. Apparently she thought I paid online. I showed her my phone & explained that I just booked the appointment. We were both really confused for like 5 minutes. Anyway, after I paid (with card there is a $2 fee) she asked me if I preferred male or female. I said I booked my appointment with Shelley. She said Shelley is not there today........ Oookay... So why was I given the option to book with her? I just told her I would like a female then. Now, when you walk inside the massage area it is actually really relaxing. Before my foot massage they had me change into a pair of shorts they had there because my skinny jeans wouldn't roll up more than about 4 inches so wear loose, comfortable clothing. My foot & calf massage was great. I was very relaxed. It was definitely not rushed at all. The only thing is I think the foot portion was more like 40 minutes so it cut into the rest of my massage. I really enjoyed all of the massage but there is one thing that I think lessened my experience. My masseuse never instructed me to undress anywhere so I had my clothes on for my full body massage! I really didn't understand that. I would have liked to get as comfortable as possible (without my bra, ya know?). Anyway, I like this place enough to consider returning. The prices are good. I've come here 3 times and I haven't felt disappointed. It's a very relaxing atmosphere and the masseuse and masseurs know what they are doing. I get a lot of pain on my shoulders, lower back and calves and they really know how to undo every knot. I pay $115 for a couples massage, but if you pay with card there is a $2 fee. I made an appointment for a 90 minutes massage plus hot stone on Saturday night, the person at the front desk was very patient and passionate answering all the questions I had about their services, we discussed my back pain and she suggested me for a 90 minutes massage services, it proved that she was right as it really relieves my back pain. This was my first time and it was a last minute thing. I saw them on Groupon but didn't have enough time for an hour so I just walked in a got a 30 min one. It was easy to find with plenty of parking. Nice reception but wasn't too helpful being my first time. The language barrier might of been it. She walked me to back to my room which was a hall way with rooms on both sides. The lady finally came in and to massage. I asked for medium and during my 30 min she did ask a few times if I was okay which was nice. Honestly it was a mediocre message but still felt nice. There were a few times where it didn't feel too good and she was able to tell with my body language. I wish i could of asked for harder or to hit just certain areas but it was a generic massage and I wasn't sure if she would of understood me. I'm glad I went on yelp and found this place because it was amazing. I got the deep tissue massage for an hour and my entire body feels so much better now and so much less tense. It hasn't felt this good in awhile. With deep tissue, it's not really "relaxing" during the actual massage but it definitely gives you that "weight-off-the-shoulder" feeling afterwards. This massage is done in a public room (more than 1 bed) but fortunatly, no one was there while I was there so it ended up being a "private room." Overall, my experience was great. I had a male masseuse​. I was pleasantly suprised because I tend to like firmer massages. It was a solid massage. Palace Spa is fantastic. They are flexible: scheduling appointments ahead of time, or having therapists available with same day, sometimes same hour, availability. When I have called and left a message, they have always called me back within an hour. The therapists have been good with the right amount of pressure. Some incorporate leg, lower back, and arm stretches. One therapist recently introduced hot stones throughout the massage. All therapists have used warm towels. Palace Spa also has a shower available for before or after sessions. For the price ($40-45/hour), Concord location, and consistently high and professional level of service, I'd highly recommend Palace Spa.
