I just got out of my "massage" from Palace Spa. I visited on a Sunday, around 4:15. I was told it was going to be a 15 minute wait. So I just chilled in the waiting room until it was my time. After around 17 minutes I was escorted into the room. As I was changing and preparing myself for the massage, the first thing I noticed was that the walls didn't connect to the ceiling! It was awkward hearing whispers all around me. So I proceeded to just wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for the massage therapist. After she finally arrived, she massages me over the blanket. It was alright. Then she proceeded to use the oil on my back. I have no idea what she was thinking but I was in a WORLD of pain! I was clenching my first, my eyes were tweaking etc. I have no idea what she was doing. I told her to use light pressure.... Barely any difference. I noticed she didn't use enough massage oil and holy s***. It's like she was trying to light a fire with my skin. She also did this horrible thing around the scapular area of my back where she kept popping the ligaments around. I was just trying to be a trooper but HOLY F***! Calm down with that. To make everything worse about 70% of the massage was centered in the back. After she put the SCALDING HOT TOWEL in my back I was thankful it was over. After that it was just a mediocre head massage. Now after all of this and I got dressed. As I was walking on my way out, the receptionist comes RUNNING from behind me telling me to fill out a survey for the massage. I am just exhausted from work and the beat down I got from a little Asian lady, I just wanted to go home. I said, "whatever" and just wrote, "good". I have no idea what I was thinking. The receptionist afterwards said, "if massage was good, you leave tip??" I replied by saying, "k". And I left a $5 tip. As I got home my girlfriend noticed what's wrong with my back?? She took a couple of pictures and HOLY S***! WTF HAPPENED WITH MY BACK??? I was covered with bruises and red marks! Now my "relaxing" massage left me battered and bruised. Also mind you, I DO NOT BRUISE EASILY. Now, if you guys want to experience the same as me, please go visit this establishment, but please communicate with the masseuse because she probably cannot see the obvious pain I was in. I have gone here a few times. The atmosphere and price are great. Yesterday I made a special request (to focus almost entirely on my legs). The woman at the front desk took a lot of time to make sure she understood and was able to communicate that to the massage therapist. Most people here seem to not speak English as their first language so communication can take a tad longer but well worth the extra energy. I got the massage I needed. I have been having a lot pain while walking and after she worked (really hard) on my quads and calfs, I feel a lot better!! I will keep going back to this place. Found this gem through a groupon offer. It's tucked in park 'n save plaza near Fry's Electronics. There's plenty of parking. I have been coming here for a few years now. They have very reasonable pricing for all their massages. They could get very busy so appointment is highly recommended. They also offer a yearly membership for $25. With this membership, you will get special member pricing. If you get massages as often as I do, after a couple of massages, the membership pretty much pays for itself. I ask for Michael or James because I like the extra pressure because I do kickboxing and I'm always sore. Be sure to tell the receptionist what you needs are so she can relate to the masseuse before you go in. Wendy at the front desk is very nice and helpful. Groupon brought me here. I was highly disappointed in this place. First of all, the price on Groupon is misleading, because a 30 min foot reflexology + 30 min full body massage is not actually $90, yet it said I was saving 57% by paying only $39. There are plenty of signs on the site and in the shop that say it's much cheaper. When I came in, the receptionist asked if I would like to upgrade my service to a 60 min full body massage for $15 extra. I agreed at first thinking it was going to be 30 min foot reflex + 1 hour full body. However, she meant that I was going to switch to just a 1 hour full body massage. So, I ended up paying $54 for a full body massage, when it says on the signs posted in the shop that a full body is already $55. So what did I save? Absolutely nothing. I was even more frustrated by my massage, which was probably the most uncomfortable massage I've ever received. I normally enjoy a good deep tissue massage, but this one had very painful, excessively repetitive motions that did not bring muscle relief. Even more, when I initially came onto their Yelp page, I received a notification from Yelp showing that this business offers discounts for writing a positive review. I checked their website and it's true. That's not honest practice, as I chose this place based on the favorable reviews, but was left very unhappy. My partner and I have been here twice for couples massages. The first time we went was a few months ago, and we had asked for specific masseuse on the recommendation of a friend. It was great! Customer service was good, we came out feeling relaxed, and we stayed feeling relaxed for days after. Had I written a review then, it would've been 4 stars. We went back again because we liked it so much the first time. We asked for the same people but they were unavailable, so instead we got Julie and James. Compared to the first people, Julie's movements were rushed, erratic, and hasty. It made the hour fly by, and not in a good way. She rarely applied enough pressure, but when she did, it was always in an uncomfortable place. My partner had James, who had the same issue: too much pressure in the wrong places. He also made small talk with my partner during the massage, which was a very weird experience. It's been a couple hours since we got the massages, and both our backs hurt. All in all I was really excited about this place but now I'm just disappointed that the quality between the workers is so inconsistent. I don't want to have to hope the person I want is available. I don't feel like I can get a massage at any time and feel confident that it'll be a good experience, and for that I give this place two stars. read more

I have come here about once a week for the past year and have always been accommodated on the same day for an appointment. My husband and I do couples massages with Shelley and Joanne (update: Joanne is no longer here). We only pay $95 for BOTH of us (with our $20 annual membership) plus $20 tip for each session. I highly recommend doing the regular private massage, as opposed to the clothed communal massage because it is not that much more in regards to cost. I personally do not think the communal massage is worth it, so just upgrade your Groupon. Also, let the front desk staff know what pressure you prefer and the area you want to focus on so that they can relay it to the masseuse. In regards to ambiance, you get what you pay for. The client rooms have thin walls with no ceiling in between client rooms, so you can hear if clients are talking when they come in. We tend to go late in the evening before they close, as it is less crowded and therefore less noise. I recommend bringing ear plugs if you prefer it to be completely quiet. I had been looking for another massage spot to try.. I've found two good masseuses from other massage spots, but it's nice to have a couple more favorites on hand for when the others aren't available or for when you're in a different area! I came across Palace Spa through reviews on Yelp and then looked up their current deals. I had Monday off, to drop my car off at the shop, and saw a "Stress Release Monday" deal.. $30 for one hour of foot reflexology with hot stones.. sounded perfect! Walked-in and was pleasantly greeted by Wendy. Said I was a walk-in and showed her a print out of the deal, she read it and I offered to make an appointment and come back if they didn't have anyone that minute.. but she asked if I could wait five minutes, went back to talk to someone and then escorted me to the massage area. Given that it was a foot reflexology/massage, it was in an open area with four massage loungers (with face whole for the back massage portion). I paid at 4:11pm and my masseuse Kevin came in at 4:15pm. He placed a towel on me, followed by a light comforter-like blankie, and then brought out the plastic-lined bucket with warmish hot water.. a pleasant temperature especially it was rainy. Then the massage began... Kevin started with a lavender scented lotion for my 10 minute head massage.. hair, temples, forehead.. my only gripe was that I could smell a faint cigarette scent on his hands, luckily it wasn't enough to set off my asthma. Then onto 5 minutes on my shoulder blades from the head of the lounger, could've used more pressure but this was a foot reflexology so I didn't say anything. Then onto my feet. This was much needed and if done decent enough I catch myself waking up from my snores, hehe. Kevin spent 30 minutes on the foot reflexology portion, took me a minute to adjust to the pressure but he adjusted accordingly if it was too much based on my cues. I'm pretty sure I snoozed out for a minute, but light sleeper-like as he went off to get the hot stones. Personally, I wasn't too impressed with his use of hot stones, but the warmth did loosen some muscles up. After hot towel wiping and drying off, he asked me to sit up and he prepared a cotton towel around the face hole and asked me to turn over.. still keeping the towel on my back but removing the mini-comforter. I got about a 15 minute head and back massage, which I thoroughly enjoyed.. and an hour later (5:15pm), my massage had sadly ended. I will most likely come back for a more focused massage on my shoulders, neck and back. I'd say Kevin is probably in my top 10, however I plan on scheduling with another person next time to see if they can match my sore spots a little better. The ladies at the front and the women who answer the phones are very nice. They are the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of just one. The massage therapists seem to have been doing this for some time, but the person who massaged me made me feel a little uncomfortable. I learned in Massage Therapy school that any undergarments were an outline to the client's comfort zone/level, but my therapist lowered my panties while working on my lower back, and when working on the back of my legs put the sheet beyond the bottom of said panties and it was borderline upsetting. The hole for the face in the table is AWFUL!!! My jaw is so tight and painful that it hurts tremendously to eat and/or drink. Plus, I had a small headache and lots of dizziness, not to mention that my shoulder doesn't feel worked on enough. I am still having problems lifting my arm without practically screaming/crying out. My boyfriend saw Tina and absolutely loved her. We've both had a lot of massages before and both said those were two of the best massages we've ever had. Sam was able to do a nice firm pressure in all the right places, he seemed to know exactly where my pain was, and it was very relaxing. Michael has a lot of pain in his back, neck, and shoulders and unfortunately does not always get much relief from massages but he said Tina was the first person that was really able release the tightness and work out all the knots. This was THE WORST massage I've ever had. I got the 90 minute massage and I would even consider it a massage. He very lightly ran his hands over my back when I had asked a few times for deep pressure, hummed his thumbs into my hands and feet to hi pressure points but went WAY too hard, rubbed lymph nodes in my neck which really really hurt and I pulled away and he still kept doing it. Heard very loud moaning and panting coming from the next room over which was unsettling and gross. My moms masseur fell asleep a few times while giving her her massage. My bf didn't like how hot it was... but it's really up to what you prefer. The only downside to it was my massage was a bit painful. Next time I'll probably ask for light pressure. I probably should have wrote this review a lot sooner considering I have been here 3 times! This place was recommended to me by a friend who raved at how good the service was here. She surprised me and got me a free massage for my birthday and I became hooked since. From the beginning of reserving my session, I knew this place was good. They had me reserve my session via phone, and the cool thing there was no wait on the phone. Came in at my appointment time, asked for my preferences (hard, medium, light pressure/ male or female massager,etc). After they checked me in, they had me in a room. The three different employees I have had that performed the massage were alll good and really helped get the knots out my back. They used techniques I have had at other places but they really knew my trouble areas as they worked me well during my sessions. To cap each session they give you some green tea or black tea to drink to really relax you as you leave. And I leave each session feeling relaxed and limber. I haven't tried their other massage specials but they do offer couple sessions and membership specials for those that really get a massage often. Massage for 2 please! Called and spoken with Wendy and we were booked. Upon entering Palace Spa, I instantly had that Zen feeling, greeted by a lady name Alice who had confirmed our appointments. Led back into a dim lit room with 2 massage tables and we were told to undress and relax. Little did I know Alice was going to be my therapist, she asked me how would I like the pressure, I said medium please. I have to commend both her and Vivian who massaged my man friend because we both knocked out and enjoyed every aspect of it! I'm writing this on his behalf: He said since I didn't mention if he wanted a female or male for his massage then he was assigned to whoever was available. When I made the appointment, I wasn't asked that so I had no idea. I thought you could just decide when you're there. His massage was at 11, but had to wait an extra 15 minutes for a woman masseuse to show up. At first he wanted to reschedule because the lady kept insisting he gets an massage from a male, but he wasn't feeling that. Around 1140 was when he finally got his massage. Her name was Alice. First thing Alice asked when she walked in the room was how did he want his massage: Hard, Medium or soft? He chose hard and to his surprise, she was really good and was stronger than expected. My husband likes Jenny and Shirley. I loooove Michael! He does an excellent job and listens to my needs. It's recommended that you make a reservation at least a day in advance to ensure that they can fit you in their schedule and that you can get the masseuse requested. Groupon review. I found Palace Spa - Concord through Groupon. I bought two "30-minute foot massage and 30-minute full-body massage." I bought one for me and one for my partner for $25 each. Groupon price of $35 minus a coupon code of $10 off. On Groupon Palace Spa reports their original price is "$90." However, once you arrive, you'll quickly notice signs posted with the supposedly "$90" price but advertised as "$39." It almost seems like Palace Spa instead of correcting the Groupon price the just posted these signs up. Hm? This showed truth to the multiple reviewers who reported the facility purposely inflated the Groupon price to make it seem like the $32 Groupon price was a $58 discount when in truth it is only a negligible $7. Had I not had the code for $10 off, I would have felt slightly "played" as I'm walking in thinking I got a "good deal" to discover I didn't. Very disingenuous. Anyways. Called in to schedule the appointment and they stated they only had early morning or late evening available. Upon arriving, when she asked for my Groupon voucher she stated "next time just pay here" to which I responded "how much is your Groupon price" and she stated "$39." I've used Groupon countless times and never had this experience before. That showed truth to the many reviewers who reported they were told to just pay at the facility. The establishment's waiting area was neat and organized. The rooms appeared clean. The restroom was clean. There was no obvious malodor throughout the facility. However, I noticed they had signs posted everywhere about "feeling uncomfortable" which seemed odd. The massage itself felt like an average 5/10. Started at 6:19PM & ended at 7:25PM. This includes the 10+minutes of just laying down waiting for the masseuse to walk in. Although advertised as "full body massage" the massage was indeed done fully clothed. Really? The massage was your basic "rub down." A rather unexpected thing about it was the fact that the masseuse (James) massaged my feet with his nails. Yes. He clawed his nails in my soles and ran them up/down. What? Yes, I know. Another thing, which was extremely agonizing. He repeatedly massaged along the medial aspect of my knees, while applying increased pressure along the insertion of the gracilis muscle (attempt with cautious: place your thumb on your right knee, slide left 2-3 inches, apply full pressure, proceed to slide down then back up while maintaining pressure) it was torturous to say the least. He did this repeatedly.. on each leg. Ouch. So many places to apply pressure and by unanimous vote, it was decided there. Why? This shows truth to the multiple reviews about clenched fist, eyes tweaking, hands sweating.. I was all the above. Lastly, we were followed out the door for additional tip. We left the additional tip by card and were also charged a $2 fee for using the card. However, I feel if customers had the desire to leave additional tips they'd do so on their own without having to be chased after. The customer is left in an uncomfortable situation and you feels forced to do as they ask. Would I recommend Palace Spa? No. I feel there are other establishments who are able to offer, not only a better service, but also an HONEST one. I'm basing this on the average quality of the massage and the intentionally defrauding promotion they have on Groupon. read more

Let me start by saying I was questioning calling the police or a lawyer after this incident. I booked a 60 minute massage with Tina, she was all of 87 lbs so it couldn't have been too much pressure which I was happy about because I've had back tightness and was in a good amount of pain. She does the normal stretching and soft loosening of the muscles but then starts digging her elbow into my spine. Really hard and with a lot of force. I didn't say anything because I assumed she was an older professional and maybe she knew what she was doing. Then she did the same thing to my neck and I was in so much pain I politely asked her to go lighter and that it kind of hurt. That's when her coworkers started laughing and telling jokes in mandarin, she began to laugh and not apologize. I immediately got up and asked to speak to the owner. This type of service should not be allowed. I'm going to set a doctor appointment to see if anything was ruptured on my back or my neck. It was good, not the best. The place was clean and well decorated. I walked it to get a one hour foot massage. I asked if their would be a wait at all (if so I would have gone next door to get a pedicure) She said no, asked if I wanted the table instead. (I only wanted the hour foot so I could sit and soak my feet and have my feet rubbed. I wanted my feet taken care of.) So cool 1 hr foot! She then asked if I wanted medium or hard. I said hard. She said of course you seem like it. She then tried to get one of the massage therapist, she started yelling and such. You could tell she was annoyed. Then told me it would be 10 minutes. Uhhhggg I didn't want to wait. I already paid, okay... I'll Chill relax breathe and learn to be patient. 10 mins go by, these two ladies come running in, you could tell they were shopping and late for work or something. 15 minute mark I get called to go back to sit. I then sit for 10 minutes before this guy comes over. So 25 minutes before my massage actually started. Not a good start. My massage was fairly good/average. He stopped often to touch his face or something. My least favorite is when they walk away with the water bucket for 5 minutes and come back. The loud ass phone rang up front, you would think you would have it in quiet at a massage place. He also had to walk away to yell at two people talking in the hall loudly. If I could give half a star, I would. I got a groupon for a 30 min foot massage and a 30 minute full body massage. When I went to redeem it, I was told the "full body massage" was in fact a fully clothed pressure session, in a communal room with other people. If I wanted a traditional full body oil massage in a room, it would be an additional $15. When I said it was not in the description, or fine details, she told me to look at the picture. The picture looks like a stock photo of someone getting a foot soak, and a video of people getting a traditional private oil massage, and private spa services. I asked if she herself made decisions on services she's paying for by looking at ambiguous stock type looking photos, which was accompanied by a video of people getting private traditional services? No response. I stated this was a bait and switch as I paid for a foot massage and a traditional full body massage, as advertised. Another customer who was waiting to check in overheard and was dismayed and stated it was not noted that a traditional massage was not included, and their wording was for a traditional massage. I tried to make the best of it. I should have just left. They don't change the blankets on the beds in the communal area. I had a man, I can't call him a masseuse, you'll read why shortly. He pressed on ONE spot on my neck, pressed my toes, and just rubbed the top of shin. They put a scratchy towel on you before they do the body pressing. It makes you hot. He did not know what he was doing, he pressed on my back, mainly on my kidney area, which I had to tell him was very uncomfortable. My shoulders were never touched, my arms weren't touched, my hands weren't touched, my calves weren't touched, the back of my thighs weren't touched, and my head wasn't touched. Not even a full body pressing. This was a waste of time, and a waste of money. This was not a massage, I can't even call the foot part reflexology or a massage. It was all repetitive pressing/rubbing. This was not relaxing by any stretch of the imagination. They did a bait and switch with Groupon. That alone is horrible, then the experience itself was bad. I will continue going to my go to day spa, Far East Massage. I will NOT be going back to Palace Spa, ever. read more

Absolutely love everyone here! Tom gives the best massage I've ever gotten and is an expert at targeting spots where I have chronic pain and branching from there. Everyone is so kind and service is amazing. Cant recommend this place enough! read more

This place is ok! They cut my time short by 5-10 min 2x. Parking is easy, being located right next to Fry's. Make sure you set yourself an timer. They also go in and out of the room quite often, which takes away the experience. If you make sure you are extra cautious, it's not a too bad of a massage!
