Hadn't been to Dino's since the big move from their original establishment near Ironwood Dr to the new, bigger, and brighter location on Phelps Dr. So I asked myself, what took us soooo long to get back there? I didn't have a good answer, but I found is it's the same excellent service, the same great food prepared piping hot and delicious and the same good people who run the place and genuinely care about how your experience is going while you are there. I can't say enough. We are definitely going back because you can not argue about the quality of the food served, the portion size, and the impeccable service you receive when visiting. Don't EVER plan to use Dino's for catering...or even eat in! They were contracted to cater dinner for 300 folks at a breast cancer charitable event in Leisure World last night. According to the event organizer, she'd had no reason to worry when she spoke with a manager in the morning. However, when the food seemed "late", she called and was told that there was no dinner coming!!!!! Several other people from the event has submitted similar negative reviews....and there management hasn't responded to any of them. Shame on this business and its owners! read more

My significant other had posted her review of take-out-order of Italian beef, and she is very impressed. We ordered take-out again this past weekend, and she gives the Italian beef another A grade. I'm also originally from Chicago with long stops in NY and Philadelphia. I'm reviewing the mess I received by ordering a take-out Chicago Combo, along with the Italian Beef, and two orders of the french fries. My grade system is simple, A to F. The Italian Beef, grade A-, beef is excellent, bun is not whole grain, good size portion. The Chicago Combo, grade D-, beef was good...however the sausage had been overcooked, more likely precooked or a left over from another day or earlier that day, and grilled again. The sausage by itself, a solid F, and it was disposed of. Insides were chalky and dry, and it was, by far, the worst piece of prepared Italian sausage I have ever bit into. So, with tax, that was a complete waste of $15...right there and it pisses me off that a place could be so careless with what goes out the door. Next we have the French fries, grade D-. We each had one bite and tossed the remainder of two orders in the trash. They were unseasoned, tasteless, and quite frankly, reminded me if institutional bags of fries at 50 pounds each like you might pick up in Sam's Club. Absolutely terrible! Why is it that fast food locations serve superior fries? I generally do not give food locations second chances. I might come back for dine-in spaghetti and meat balls with two meat balls added. By NY, Chicago, and Philadelphia standards, the meat balls look of average size. For the time being..my review is "Yuk." read more

I heard about this place on a local Chicago Food group. The pizza is excellent - really good crust, and very similar to Chicago neighborhood style pizza. Also ordered order of spaghetti and meatballs, which came with bread and salad. Loved the meatballs, dressing and bread. I planned on having leftovers today, but found my teenager had gone back during the night to eat it. :) I saw a sign for a special for Chicken Grazie that looked really good too. Only thing that would have made it better would be if the staff were wearing masks. We stick with carry out because we have an at-risk family member, but it was a little nerve-racking to see no staff wearing masks. I get it's Pinal County and not required, but it's still good practice for public health in a pandemic. read more

The food is great and the owners are friendly but the wait staff needs to take a class in customer service. Our server was less than par. She seemed bothered to wait on us. No smile, no coming back to check on us and when we asked if we could get our beer her response was yeah when the bartender gives it to me. Than was about 10mins after ordering it. Called to report missing item, was transferred to Christy( I assume the manager) SUPER aggressive!!! 4 miles from the house and food was ice cold. We just wanted credit for missing item and she instead decided to challenge us instead of issuing us a credit. Went as far as requesting my name and exact spelling. She didn't realize she hadn't hung up the phone yet and she told staff to put us on the "do not order list". It's a breath of mustard-and-pickle-scented fresh air to have this Chicago-style deli in the middle of suburban Arizona. I grew up in Chicago and though I rarely eat beef anymore, a good Chicago-style hot dog is pure nostalgia. I make exceptions for both that and a really good patty melt. Dino's does it right, with all the toppings (including pickles AND cucumbers, thank you!) down to the snap of the dog and the way the poppy seed bun kind of Play-Dohs itself into a ball surrounding the dog by the end. If you can bite into a Chicago style hot dog without everything falling off, it's not right. Dino's toppings all landed in the paper on the first bite. No matter, pick them up and try again! I'd definitely recommend that over the Maxwell Street Polish, where the grilled onion topping has the unmistakeable flavor of French onion soup. read more

I wished they never relocated, their prices have skyrocketed in the past year. I understand we are in a period of inflation but the price increase at Dinos even seems to outpace inflation. $6.50 for a Chicago Style Hotdog, $12.50 for a Caprese Salad. I miss the family vibe with the Mom, Dad, and Daughter. Other shops in Mesa are $3 less for Vienna Beef Chicago Style Hotdogs, and Portillo's is $3.89. I wish Dinos the best of luck but these prices are steep. read more

This is a hometown, family-owned, local type of a restaurant, no muss, no fuss, good food and service.

Was so delicious! Pizza we ordered was spinach and ricotta and added onions, definitely was the best we've had, toppings perfect and crust was perfect. Also got an Alfredo fettuccine and spaghetti with meatballs. Their tomato sauce is homemade and is so fresh. Not a sugared or buttrered down typical sauce received at all other restaurants. Also got an antipasto salad which was all fresh ingredients. This was our first time at this place via their delivery and we will be ordering again as long as their doors are open. Garlic bread was on point by the way. In addition We ordered a cannelloni, and to our surprise they gave us an extra one as a thank you! ALSO....randomly we ordered a potato salad and that was AMAZING too!! Geez....this place is such a gem! Such top notch!! read more

This little Italian restaurant is awesome!! It is truly authentic and as good as a few of our Chicago favorites! The pizza, Italian beef, meatball sub and Italian sub sandwich are all so delicious!! None better! The portions are large and filling! The staff is kind and you can tell they have a huge following of regulars! We are new to this group, but continue to frequent the place. Overall, it was great. The food was delicious, and exceeded what I was expecting. My kids got a cheese pizza, and it was quite good. The crust was crisp, and my 6 year old and 3 year old ate several pieces each. I got the char grilled steak sandwich, and it was great - and huge. My SIL got a meatball sandwich, she said it was delicious. Brother got spaghetti, nephew got chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and they both said their food was excellent. My 1 year old liked the spaghetti and pizza, but not the fettuccine. Downside is that the water is disgusting - don't get it. The one and only thing we didn't like was the service. It was pretty busy at the time, and we can understand that, but the waitress was forgetful and seemed like she had no idea what she was doing the majority of the time. It was a weekday about noon & three of us stopped for lunch before setting out on our day. Our order was taken immediately & food arrived about 10 minutes later. Ambiance: not much. Don't know what was in that location before but it is a large open space with seating on one side & a small bar area across the room. Very bright, not like most restaurants with a darkened room. Can't even take an order correctly...hubby ordered, the woman spelled our name back to him...gets there a couple of minutes after it was supposed to be done. Someone asks if they can help, he says I have a to go order...she says you'll have to go see someone else. Okay Italian Beef sandwich for the price. Nice family running the place. The au jus made the sandwich. Without it, way too dry. A little hard to find, drive slowly so you don't miss the parking lot. Food I found was very good both Italian Beefs and Pizza. Service on the other hand was EXTREMELY SLOW and there were only myself and one other person in restaurant. Gave them a second chance and the pizza was good but again with the EXTREMELY SLOW service and because of that I cannot justify returning.
