Beef Lasagna - excellent, might be best I ever had, would like to see them try an italian sausage lasagna. Chicken Marsala - the wife says excellent, nothing left so I can't taste it. Veal Picatta - good. House salad - loved it. Grilled vegetables - very good. Spaghetti and Meatballs - excellent. Vino's Pizza - very good. And their bread at the table is outstanding. This is a quaint little Italian restaurant tucked away behind BB's and House of Pies. The breadsticks are absolutely amazing and the reason why my friend an I found this restaurant. The staff is extremely accommodating and was able to basically create a dish I wanted. Also, they know their food and wines. We got into a 5-minute-long conversation about each different wine we were interested in and what part if Italy it came from, what sort of flavors were associated with it, and tried several types until deciding on one. My husband and I came here for dinner tonight...it was our first time dining here. It is just off of Westheimer in a little strip center that does not look like anything special. Many good places have this appearance and this is no exception. I had the Southwest Chicken Lasagna and my husband had the Penne Stefano. Both dishes were delicious as were the breadsticks they serve to accompany your meal. The prices are very reasonable, eslecially for Italian food. Our waiter, Carlos was amazing...very attentive and made some great suggestions about what to order...simply one of the best waiters I have had in a very long time. I purchased a couple of living social vouchers. The one in River Oaks was ok. Service was very slow. It was a while back so I don't really remember the food (which in and of itself is a bad sign). I went to the one Briar Ridge and boy was I disappointed. I called to ask about closing time and directions. They said 10pm. We sat down at 9pm and the waiter immediately said "we close at 9:15." I offered to leave but he said it was ok. The bread sticks were good. The artichoke dip was also good. We ordered the veal piccata and shrimp scampi and they were both terrible. The pasta was tasteless, watery, and cold. Both dishes were tasteless and it seemed they were made in a hurry. The service was average, I had to ask for water without ice several times. They were literally waiting for us to leave because you can feel that energy and it made dinner very uncomfortable. They did not offer dessert or coffee!! I left a good tip despite my girlfriend's protests. But she was right, they did not earn it. read more

Al the pasta dishes we have tried have been outstanding - my favorite being the Pasta Stefano. Came here for the first time and am so glad I did. I ordered the Chicken Marsala - it came with a side of spaghetti marinara. Both were really good. Monica was my server who had a wealth of knowledge about the menu, ingredients, wine , etc. The staff was very welcoming and warm. To top off the meal I had the bread pudding which was TRUE bread pudding, not some fluffed up mush. I was intrigued by the lemon sage sauce on the menu and the manager was kind enough to bring me a small bowl - I DIPPED MY BREAD IN IT. Mic Drop!! read more

It might be good for eating in or take out, but their catering is terrible. This is the third time I've found rotten produce in the spring mix. It's delivered without dressing so when I noticed brown water drops when I went to put some in my plate, I know something was off. I picked through the clump and found rotting pieces of lettuce. The quality control is terrible, if something's going bad, throw it out, don't sell it as part of a large scale order just because you think you have a higher chance of not getting complaints. read more

Great place for a weeknight, or any night dinner. Tucked away in a strip off Westheimer, it is truly a find! Casual feel, but five-star entrees. Breadsticks are like no other...don't eat too many, so you can enjoy your entree! We had the Chicken Cannanoli and the Veal Picatta. Both dishes arrived steaming hot and were delish! Side salads were a surprise as they were more Greek than Italian with red onion and feta cheese. We especially loved the attentive service! Wait staff are very accommodating and eager to please. Meatball tasted like funky Texas beef. Red sauce was bland and had no kick to it. Noodles were cooked soft American style. Salad was good but had to add the salad dressing (had a weird brownish grey look to it but tasted pretty good) which I normally don't do because the red sauce was so bland. Garlic bread sticks had some flavor and tasted better than the sauce. Price was too high for boring bland American style spaghetti. Place is an old people hang out. Maybe that is why the sauce is bland. The review would have been lower if the salad and the bread was just as bland as the entre. read more

The chicken and veggies were cooked perfectly and wonderful flavor! I found this place as I was out running errands, needed to grab lunch and did a quick Yelp search. This is tucked away and not something I would have visited as one could easily miss it. I will definitely be back....and with my Sweetie since they also offer gluten-free. For those that drink, they also offer BYOB with a $7.50 fee. And no blazing obnoxious television! Just laid back music. Nice. I like being able to see into the kitchen and how all the servers helped out therefore got great service and attention. My drink was always filled and the food was delicious. I love the location in the Galleria but this location does not compare. It's not well keep. The floors did not seem to be sweep and it has an old moth ball smell. We were the only ones dining in so the staff should have been trying to clean up the place while they were slow. The food does not compare to the Galleria location. I write this with great regret. Palazzo's has long been a solid standard in my restaurant rotation. My wife and I have had endless date nights here, my son has come to love it and we have brought many friends. However, that is over. The service and quality of the restaurant have evaporated. Waiters are rude and inattentive. The food is haphazardly prepared. And to add insult to injury, you have to wait forever to get your order taken and to have the food brought out. It was so bad tonight that my wife and I walked out of the restaurant when it took OVER AN HOUR and our food still hadn't arrived!!! Then I had to wait for the check as they debated whether I should be charged for the appetizer. Despite all of this, the manager never once came by to apologize or even ask what was going on even though she walked by several times. I realized that she just didn't care. And that is the root of the problem at Palazzo's. They just don't care anymore. And it shows. read more

We came early to the Briarridge location with our 2 children (2.5 & 1) who they made welcome. They seemed to separate the 2 rooms b/t child friendly & adults only. (which I love bc it takes pressure off parents but if we came back sans kids, we could enjoy a kid free room). The food was good. Kids pizza was way above average, chicken Marsala was good. The only disappointment was my steak which was not that great re: the cut & was over cooked (well instead of medium). However, after looking at price, the cut was fair but I would recommend something different. Wine was reasonablely priced - below the usual 100% markup (though I don't follow well enough to give more precise mark up) --- however they are byob & we saw several tables bringing in their own bottles. We also learned they delivered. We will be back,particularly bc we can walk from our Biargrove home. Meal for 2 adults + 2 kids, 1 bottle of wine & 1 beer w/ shared dessert = about $90 wo tip. read more

They used to be my absolute favorite place for pizza (well when I had the cash to splurge a bit on a meal & happened to be in the area, anyway) but the last 2 times I ordered my pizza with extra sauce (because they tend to be very stingy with their sauce), it STILL barely had any sauce on it!
