I really wanted to like this place! Two stars go out to the ambiance and our server who I believe his name is Frank not too sure.. I personally work at an upscale Mexican restaurant in Anaheim so trust me when I say I understand how a restaurant runs. It was a slow Saturday night, we made a reservation for 7pm and there were probably 8 tables occupied with maybe 3 people sitting at the bar. We made sure to mention we had a birthday that evening. We order our drinks and food, our food took 55 MINUTES! We had a reservation for 9pm somewhere else so we were short on time, our food took a ridiculous amount of time for the flow of the restaurant so we called our waiter over and he said "I just checked on your food the ticket time is at 38 minutes" so if you checked why didn't you let us know or check in? That had annoyed me a little but he was still kind and tried working with us the best he could, I understand it wasn't his fault. So we ask to box our food instead so we could go and he does. We notice him talking to his manager about the situation and they're looking at our table. NOT ONCE does the manager come to us and ask if everything is ok or apologizes for the long weight with our food, doesn't offer a birthday dessert NOTHING. But when a table is seated next to us the manager comes by and greets them right away, looks like it was a friend of his so he begins catering to them instead of checking in on us. No hospitality was offered to us which is unfortunate, this place was always on my list to visit but I wouldn't go back here. Food and drinks take WAY too long when it's not even busy, managers don't seem to care about guest experience. I can understand why it was slow for a Saturday night, you're better off going somewhere else where restaurants pride themselves in amazing hospitality. read more

So many good reviews and I wish I had a good one, that means that we didn't have a good afternoon at this place. First at all I didn't want to go out but, when I looked at the menu and saw the Birria, I definitely needed to try it. We get there and guess what? The bartender said they ran out of it! I really don't think they ran out of it. Running out of food in a prime day and time and the restaurant was pretty empty, this sounds more like poor management skills. Like I said, the place was almost empty so we ordered the food way before the people that came after, by that time the restaurant was packed inside but empty outside. Even though we ordered the food first than all these people, it took 45 minutes to get the appetizer along with the entree, and I'm not exaggerating, we timed it. The molotes were ok, since they didn't have the birria, I wanted something with a nice sauce so we ordered the green mole. I'm wondering what happened to the mole, because the dish we got, was just chicken and broccolini (see pic for reference). I'm definitely not coming back here. I know this place is new but I don't want to risk having another bad experience. At least for me, I usually stay home during the weekends, I guess I got used to the pandemic stay at home suggestions so when you take the effort to go out and then get such a bad experience, it's pretty disappointing and discouraging. read more

Husband and I dined here for our weekly dinner date and everything was good. Our server Travis was a delightful addition to our experience in this restaurant. Many photo ops here with their interior design. I came in with a plan to order tacos but was informed that while tacos are on their online menu, they are only served on Tuesdays and Fridays which is why I couldn't find them on the menu in the restaurant. I tried a couple of their drinks and they were as expected, refreshing. You have to try the molotes and their poblano salad (which would be easier to serve in an identical plate as the molotes are served in). Since I was not able to order tacos, I went with the green enchiladas but with real cheese and sour cream and added chicken. Personally, I would leave the cheese inside the enchiladas out and just serve the cheese on top. I may come back to try the tacos. They have condiments such as chili oil upon request if you like spicy. read more

It feels like you're stepping into an upscale Mexican themed nightclub, the decor is very modern and trendy, and the music is well curated, giving a great club vibe without deafening you. Came in to Palenque with my girlfriends the other night and the ambience automatically grabs your attention. The shrimp, albondigas, and birria were amazing. The drinks were also just as great. Two of us were vegetarian and asked for options and there weren't many but when we ordered the cheese enchiladas they added soyrizo. We didn't ask for soyrizo. We wanted to make best of the situation, so we decided to taste them anyway in case they thought adding the soyrizo made the enchiladas better or worth having. They asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We asked for regular still water and they charged us 10 dollars. The enchiladas were a bit dry. The best thing was the chips and salsa. The appetizer that was cheese with soyrizo was just ok. What was a bit confusing was that there weren't many people in the restaurant when we went and the food was lukewarm and not hot. We all have the same cocktail and it was quite tasty. It was called the Sandia Pepino. I would not return for a meal service, but perhaps a cocktail or two would make it worth the trip. I REALLY wanted to like this place. The ambiance was nice and all the workers were friendly. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. They charged for chips and salsa, which would be fine if the chips were not burnt and the salsa was not bland. The guacamole was good but a very small portion. The enfrijoladas were flavorless. The steak was too fatty. We were not checked on after receiving our food and had to ask three times for the check. Also, they were out of of toilet paper and soap in the women's bathroom. Keep in mind, it was not busy and they appeared to be fully staffed. I feel bad for writing this review. I just hope they use this review as constructive feedback. read more

To start this off, I do want to mention this experience occurred on the night of valentine's day. For the price of the food and the high standards of this place, I would assume they are organized and know how to handle their service. However, this was not the case. We waited close to an hour for our food after being seated. Our waitress was absolutely no where to be seen which made it hard to ask for anything if we needed. We were barely even hungry by the time we got our food. The DJ was also lost with the sound control and there would be random moments where the music was extremely loud and then would turn off. Towards the end, we just wanted to leave and still our waitress was nowhere to be seen and was most likely hiding out in a corner or something. We asked another waiter for the check and by surprise she finally shows up. She ended up getting mad at the waiter who checked us out and I found this to be very unprofessional considering she wasn't anywhere around us the entire time. Came here on Valentine's Day and to be honest the whole experience was terrible. First off, I had a reservation and they sat us right by the door. When we asked if we could move they said no, even though there were open tables all around us for the next hour and a half. Moving on, our food took so long to come out that when it did, we weren't even hungry anymore. The food itself was pretty decent, but nothing to write home about. After we got our food we didn't see our waitress for about an hour, so we never got anymore water or any refills of our drinks. The last straw came when I asked for the check. I asked a random waiter to check us out since we had been there for more than 2 hours. While I was paying, our waitress magically appeared and began yelling at the other waiter for checking us out. I would never come back! The service is horrible! Was dead no people and yet the drinks and food took long to come out! My server Mildred was so inattentive . I was over charged for my chilaquiles and pointed it out to her and even to get it corrected it took for ever! She went to take the order of another table before she addressed my over charge! When she came to drop off the corrected tab she made it seem like she was doing me a favor by correcting it listed it as a "discount" and didn't even apologize or acknowledge me after.
