Trying to understand why we waited 15-20 mins for a to-go order for 3 salads? And then the salads weren't the same portions. At first, I was upset thinking we paid the same price for all three til I looked at the website and saw they were priced differently. I also couldn't help but wonder if we were put on the back burner (pun intended) bc we did not tip? We walked in. We ordered a Cesar, Hawaiian, and Southwest salad to-go. We paid. We waited. We picked up the food from the counter. We brought it home. If I have to tip for self service to-go food then I might as well tip the self service registers at Walmart, too. Tipping is an over abused expectation anymore and I am becoming rebellious with it. I'm not saying they expected it here, although the jar was prominently placed and the line was clearly drawn on the receipt. But our food had been ready for a hot minute when I came to inquire about it. We were ready to ask for a refund and call it a mistake coming in at all. That being said, the southwest salad was really good. I do wish we had known the portions would be different on the other salads tho. Incredible service right as soon as we entered the building. Instantly had our order taken, and before we could get our drinks, our salads were sitting on the table. Additionally, the two calzones we ordered were very filled with toppings and tasty, and those arrived very shortly after we were finished eating the salads. In and out of the restaurant within 20 minutes. Everything was very quick and fresh, very clean overall inside, and the western building style is very fitting for its location. Much like subway, the sandwich on the menu photo is NOTHING like the one you get. The meat on the hot italian was so thin, it only had 1 side. Half way home, they called me, because they accidentally put extra sandwiches in my bag. Luckily I was outside of the distance they were comfortable asking me to return them, and they did not want to send delivery driver to pick them up. I would not want a sandwich that soemone else had possession of. The salads were ok, again, not well represented on the menu photo. This establishment has really diminished in service and quality over the past few years. Formerly, the service and speed of food presentation was fantastic. The food was superb quality and always hot and fresh. My last visit revealed somewhat of a different story. I know that in a post-pandemic era that good staff can be hard to find, but even on a weekday evening, with only two tables sat in the whole restaurant, the service was not what I'd expect. We had a large party (and that was factored into this review) but we had small children and they didn't even put the pizzas on table racks or being enough plates. The pizza quality was junk. I also ordered the pasta Florentine. The sauce was far too bland and runny. It was barely tolerable for $12 dish. I do t thing we'll be returning until I see someone give a better review. Sad to say too because this was a frequent place for us until now. read more

Ok so second time eating here . Friendly service but the food is not the best . I got mozzarella sticks and the cheese inside is hard . Nothing worse then a crappy mozzarella stick . When I arrived for pickup the salad was NOT in a bag and I had NO to-go eating utensils! WTH????? Plus, I paid almost $10 for the salad! This Palio's has stolen my heart. I previously went to the one on Loop 288 because it was closer, but the ambiance and overall feel of the Cross Roads location most definitely wins, hands down. They're under different owners, apparently, so there are a few minor differences between the branches. Palio's is the perfect place for an informal date. It's BYOB, so you can keep the cost down by bringing your own booze. The lighting is just the right kind of dim to allow for casual conversation with a precious little fireplace in the center of it all... AND they choose good music. Normally some sort of old school jazz lounge or swing tunes, which fits so well. The restaurants interior is well-decorated and overall, pretty damn cozy. There is also outdoor seating on the screened-in patio, which I've not yet taken advantage of, but look forward to in the cooler coming months. The pizza is just divine. I haven't had a thing I didn't like... even when I got ballsy with pizzas like "The Scorcher" or "The Nutty Chicken." My ideal order starts off with a greek salad followed by "The Ralphie," add spinach on whole wheat crust, with a side of ranch. The salads are plenty big to split between two (which they'll do for you even without asking) and a large pizza will send you home STUFFED for around 20 bones (or with leftovers if you actually have restraint, unlike me.) I worked with the owner's wife, Sarah, most recently to cater custom pizzas for my wedding. She was FANTASTIC. If I was able to give them over 5 stars, I most definitely would. We did a detail meeting a couple of months in advance to secure the menu and finalize the quote and she spoiled us with tastings of all sorts of pizzas on the house. She was very enthusiastic about helping and was a real pleasure to work with. She even was willing to come by our rehearsal to ensure we had the correct set up to accommodate 45 pizzas (yum!) and ended up transforming our boring pizza line into a true masterpiece. She brought decorations from home and really took it to the next level- I couldn't have been happier!! I have to say Palio's has always been a favorite of mine, but I'm even more impressed now. We all have been snowed in and dealing with rolling blackouts. I had the worst experience with Palio's. Second and last chance. I am, 3 days later still waiting on a managers call back. I ordered my meal at 6:30pm, called at 7:40pm to check on the status since I was told delivery of 30 minutes and was told it was on its way - I called again at 8:10pm to check if it is still on its way and how much longer since I had a meeting at 8:30pm and again was told it's on its way. My food arrived at 8:25pm. I was unable to eat due to my meeting. At 9pm I open my meal and dig in just to realize I was given the WRONG meal. I don't know what it was, but it was definitely not baked ziti. The salad had the wrong dressing. When I called at 8:10pm I asked to speak with a manager and was informed that they were not in for the night. Worst experience EVER! I will never be going back to Palio's or recommend them. read more

Typically before writing reviews on Yelp I try a location a couple times. I do this to make sure bad experiences are isolated events and good experiences aren't a fluke! So here's a little Pizza background on me...grew up in NYC and Northern NJ. Yeah, I know my pizza. For Texas pizza it's better than your 'fast food' pizza places, that's for sure. Is it better than some other north Dallas pizza, not by a mile. I've found that both locations are the same, so this review could stand for both locations. If you like to chew your food and enjoy it don't order appetizers! They have absolutely no idea how to time your food so that you can enjoy an appetizer before your pizza comes out. I guess that is good for take out services, to get your food fast that is, but when dinning in I personally don't like to feel rushed and like to enjoy my food with my family. This happened on multiple occasions, even after talking to the person taking my order at the front counter. Not sure if it's built up soap or mold but the bathroom sink fixtures look like they are alive... Hope this doesn't represent the cleanliness in the back where food is stored or prepared. If you can drive to Frisco Town Square for pizza (and can wait on some lines on a Friday or weekend night) then do that for sure! The Pizza, calzones and cesar salads are the best in town! My husband and I eat here about once a week and love it! It is byob which is awesome and helps save some money. The pizza is made on fresh dough that you can see resting in the kitchen, the ingredients are fresh and the pizza is always hot! The bad food- to start, we should not have ordered greek food in an italian restaurant but my husband wanted to try the gyro. The gyro was not good at all! It was cold and the meat did not even resemble real gyro meat (kinda of looked like bologna) and it had zero flavor (in their defense, we moved from Florida where there was always fresh greek food with real gyro meat so we were a little spoiled). Service is fast and the atmosphere is great, always sports playing on the TV in a good amount of people in the reataurant at any given time. The food here is awesome, but they refused to deliver my order totaling $14.59 because of their strict $15.00 minimum policy. I asked the person who answered the phone if an exception would be made and I was told no exception would be made. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was too busy making a sandwich. I was then told my total was $14.98 and they still wanted me to add something to my order. Then all of a sudden I was told my order was $16.09 and I was asked for payment. When I asked for clarification, I was put on hold. A minute later I was hung up on. I give kudos to the kitchen staff for great food but the customer service has lost me as a customer. I probably cost them more than the $.41 they wouldn't budge on with the amount of time wasted on the phone and the delivery driver missed out on a tip. read more
