Pizza here was trill af. Thin crust like my girl likes but not too thin to be that cracker with tomato bunk you get from the P hut. Toppings was fresh, homie. And well distributed. Distribution is key, fam. The coca-cola Classic (I don't mess with that new coke garbage) from the fountain was on point. You get a lot of imitators fizzing out extra syrup or carbonated water but Palio was holding it down. I'd give Palio and the broads behind the counter 5 stars and a hunnit emoji but the soap in the bathroom was the liquid kind not the foam kind. Just too much work to wash my hands, playa. To the point that the delivery guys pointed out how often they come to our house and the girls who answer the phone laugh at the fact that we order the same thing every time. That being said, Palio's is really yummy. I realize this is the third Yelp review in which I've stated I'm not really a salad person, only to rave about the salad, but here goes. Their Greek salad is really good, as is their Nutty Hawaiian. You can even get penne in your salad, and carbs in my salad always makes me a happier person. The best thing is their pizza crust - garlicky and seasoned to perfection. My only complaint is that when I load up a pizza with veggies, it tends to arrive soggy. Soggy is not a word most people want used to describe their pizza. Back to the pros - get an order of their kids serving of fettuccine alfredo. It's the perfect size and you get some cheese bread on the side to make sure you still feel overly full, all for a cheaper price. Perfection! Also, the hubs gets the dry rub chicken wings on the regular and loves them. Every time we have stepped outside the norm and ordered something new, it's been good. The delivery service has made a mistake on our order a grand total of once out of three hundred billion orders AND you can order online so you never have to talk to a human if you don't want to. This is a neat place for some thin crust pizza. I usually like pizza with Coke or Dr. Pepper, but something about this pizza makes me really enjoy it with coffee. Maybe this was because it was cold outside, or it could be because this pizza is not as loaded down with cheese as the offerings from some other pizza establishments. Funnily, there is a Starbucks in the same strip center, so I may have to combine a tall drip with one of their specialties. First thing you need to know about me and my experience: I work in downtown Grapevine, just a little more than maybe a couple blocks west of Palio's. Basically, there's 1 light in between where I work and Palio's...and I tell you that to make sure you understand how CLOSE we are to them. We as an office get lunch somewhere locally every Friday and this day we decided on Palio's delivery to satisfy our cravings for pizza. We knew we could call Domino's or Pizza Hut (again, both less than a block from where I work) and get pizza here quick, but we wanted some QUALITY in our pizza and so we chose the more boutique Palio's. Our order was called in and placed at 11:15am (granted, a mere 15 minutes AFTER they opened) and it was for 6 of us: 3 medium pizzas, 2 orders of wings, and 1 pasta dish. We called it in early knowing that it would take a little while since it was fresh and a lot of food. But we figured since we called so early that we could get ahead of the lunch crowd rush and maybe get our order delivered to our office by noon. BOY WERE WE WRONG!! We were told that it would be 45min-to-an-hour for delivery which is normal for pizza delivery (though a little odd at lunch time on a weekday when an order was placed a mere 15 minutes after the store opened), so we all counted on eating right around noon-ish which is our designated lunch time at the office. Around 12:30, an hour and 5 minutes AFTER we placed our order, I decided to call and check on the status of the order because at this point the office is getting angry and our lunch time is diminishing quickly. Whoever I talked to, after being put on hold for 10 minutes, told me that their delivery was "backed up" and that they would TRY to get my order out in 20 minutes....that's TWENTY MINUTES! Which would put our food/order completing at around 1pm, an hour and 45 minutes after we placed our order and an hour after our lunch time is over! I was offered nothing but empty "I'm sorry's" and offered no discount or even anything to compensate for the very delayed order...an order, mind you, that's netting them almost $100. Speaking of which, I told the guy on the phone to remind the driver to bring change because all we have is a $100 bill and he ensures me that he will. We wait until 1pm and just as I was about to pick up the phone and cancel our order and give our money to Domino's, the delivery driver shows up (and we put ZERO blame on the delivery driver. I used to be a driver and I know how it feels to be punished for something the manager or store employees did) WITHOUT ANY CHANGE because no one at the store told him anything about us only having $100 bill. So, he gives us our food and his personal information and takes the $100 bill back to the store to get change and bring it back to us. He was handsomely tipped because none of this was his fault. The FOOD: it was all piping hot because I'm thinking they either didn't put the order in when I called or it's so fresh that it took them the almost 2 hours to prepare it all. BUT, if the freshness of their food and ingredients and preparation takes them nearly 2 hours to complete an order, they should have the common courtesy to call us and let us know ahead of time. We love to eat and support local restaurants and want nothing but the best for all of the small businesses around: but service like that with ZERO compensation or genuine remorse won't be tolerated in this city. If you like pizza then this is a good place to go, but if you like quality service, please keep going down the road. This is not the place for you. read more

Our first time eating here and we wasted 48.00 for 1 pizza, 1 gyro, a tiny dish of ziti and some chicken wings. The pizza crust was hard, the sausage was black, box soaked with grease; the gyro was so disgusting and cold that it was inedible, it was so bad that I almost threw up after taking a bite, it was very greasy and bland, and the lettuce was brown. The wings were very very soggy and fatty, just flappy fatty skin attached to bone, we threw away both the wings and the gyro, the ziti tasted good, but the portion was child's size, 10 dollars is not a fair price for such a portion of pasta, tomato sauce and cheese, no meat; the "garlic bread" was not garlic bread, it was 2 buns with a slice of cold mozzarella cheese slapped on. We called and complained to the manager because not only was the food gross, but we waited 30 minutes in addition to the 30 minutes estimated originally. She promised partial refund, this happened 18 days ago, no refund has been made to my husband's card. Total rip off. Me and my boys were still hungry afterwards. ***update 5 months passed by and still no refund, they not only have no regard for food quality, customer's time, or customer service, but they lie about refunding customers for their errors. read more

I live pretty close to Palio's and decided to check it out today since it's conveniently nearby and I was craving pasta. Overall, the food was mediocre, but I wasn't really surprised. I ordered the Chicken il Palio pasta for $9.99 which came out to $10.81 with tax. It was pretty speedy in my opinion, taking exactly 20 minutes even though I expected it to take a bit longer. There wasn't a ton of flavor, just tasted like your typical Alfredo sauce pasta with chicken, mushrooms, and artichokes. I will say that the artichokes were a really weird texture. They were cut up into small pieces, but it felt like I was trying to chew through thin slices of cardboard. Also, the portion was pretty tiny for what I'm used to. The dish came with a side of garlic cheese bread, which was also underwhelming. The garlic flavor was pretty light for something that's advertised as garlic bread, and the cheese wasn't fully melted on top. I wouldn't say that it was bad enough where I would never come back, but it'll just remain a restaurant I'll only go to if I'm looking for a quick, meh Italian fix. Maybe I'll try one of the pizzas next time. Overall, can't say that I'd recommend this place, not because anything was necessarily bad, but because I'd rather spend $10 on a better meal elsewhere. read more

One of my all-time favorite pizzas. The crust is super thin and crispy. All of the ingredients are super fresh and they always have specials and groupons that definitely make it worth it! My favorite pizza is the Grace's Alfredo. It has Alfredo, spinach, mushrooms, roasted chicken, and a mix of cheeses. I like to add pineapple for a sweet bite! You can create your own or edit any of the gourmet pizzas they already offer to fit your taste. They have deals where you can order one size pizza and get the second (same size) for a lower price. Their Cheese bread is also delllliicciioouusss! It's brushed with garlic and Italian seasonings. Super cheesy with a soft bread! They have delicious garlic butter dipping sauce as well as marinara. The orders never take more than 20 minutes and satisfy every time. I visit this location at least once a week! read more

First time ordering Palios as we stayed at Great Wolf Lodge. I place my order knowing my family is coming up from the pool within the hour. Rep tells me my order will be delivered within 30-45 min. Sounds good. Well, not so good. I call to check on the status after 1 hour and 10 minutes. I am told that they ran out of dough and it's going to be another 20 Minutes. No call to let our party know after taking all my contact info. This is unacceptable customer service and my last use of this business and I will ensure to share my experience with others. I placed an online order for carryout and paid for it in advance. When I arrived, I checked in with the server and was told my order would be ready in a few minutes. Twenty minutes later (and still no order), I inquired as to how I will know my order is ready, to which the cashier responded, "we'll call your name." One of the order preparers happen to hear our conversation and asked my name...only to discover my order was ready (for several minutes) and they just failed to call my name. However, all was forgiven as the cashier apologized several times. We went on Yelp and saw that Palio's had great reviews so we visited last night, excited to see what this place had to offer. The choices for specialty pizza all sounded great, and we decided to buy two large pizzas, one vegetarian and one margarita. Our ordering experience was just okay: the cashier was a really sweet young man who was new. The man helping him was very rude and did not even smile or say hi to us when we asked for help on ordering. The new guy though was the complete opposite. I wish I could remember his name! After ordering, we waited for a long time for our dinner to arrive. The restaurant was not that busy and our entire party of 10 was suprised to see how long it was taking for our food to arrive. We must have waited a good 30 minutes before anything came to our table. But, that is not the reason why this place gets a one star review. When our pizzas arrived, my mom and dad were shocked at the quality of both pizzas. On both of our orders, the crust on the pizza was EXTREMELY thin.... and I mean so thin that we could not even hold a slice of plain cheese pizza up without all the cheese and sauce sliding straight off the crust. Our vegetarian pizza had a good amount of toppings but no one could eat it without a fork. I rolled my slice like a burrito in order to be able to eat it! When we gave our order, no one asked us what kind of crust we wanted. We did not even see an option for crust thickness on the menus. All we said was, "we want these speciality pizzas" and the guy put it into the computer. If this is the "normal" crust option or the only option, then I am completely horrified. I would never recommend this place to anyone until they fix their crust issues. My relatives are still laughing at the quality of pizza here. My uncle even said Pizza Hut is better! First off, I've been here several times, and I generally find we have a much better experience during the week rather than weekends. The food isn't different but the service can be slower during weekends or when it's crowded. We usually have a large pizza and a salad. The salads are large enough to split, the Sedona Salad is a nice southwestern salad but he Ceasar is also a good choice. We had the Scorcher which was a nice spicy pizza with jalapenos and chicken. We've had several of the pizzas here and the best part is the crust...thin, crunchy, and tasty. All in all one of our favorite spots. I must add the service is always great, but like I said we always go during the week, when we can get some nice individual attention. Tonight was especially good and thanks to the employees working tonight for a great experience! read more

Most cafeterias do a better job. They basically run the pizza on a conveyor belt like Burger King. It is awful. There are lots of pizza choices in the area. This review is for the Grapevine location which we tried because we had a groupon. We ordered the Greek salad to share and a large "The King" pizza. The Greek salad was OK. Feta, olives, cucumbers, sun dried tomatoes. Nothing spectacular. Very heavy on the dressing, so ask for it on the side. The pizza looked absolutely wonderful. Loaded with red and yellow bell peppers, mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni. And it was huge. The only problem was that it was wet. As in the crust was wet. Just completely soggy. You couldn't even pick up a piece of pizza and get it into your mouth, It just flopped over. Oh, yuck yuck yuck. We proceeded to eat the top off of the pizza, and that part was OK. Not alot of cheese or sauce tho. Not sure why the crust was wet. Haven't read this in other reviews so maybe it was a one-time fluke. Palios is always good and consistent. It's a great laid back restaurant and is byob. They even have wine glasses and corkscrews for you to use. The ingredients always seem fresh and the crust is thin and crispy. They have a lot of pizzas to choose from or can build your own. First if all I don't know if these are franchised or what the deal is because my experience in the Highland Village location was awesome as well as better tasting. I'm frustrated and hate to complain, but I don't understand why it's so hard to keep up with cleanliness... Sweep the damn floors and maybe that would be a good start. The ripped seating and stained booths are gross and need some cleaning and at least a little attention! A pleasant surprise. My friends take our kids here every year when we stay at Great Wolf Lodge. I found the pizza very good. It's got similar qualities as i'Fratelli and Campisi's--thin crispy crust and good tasting ingredients. We had both cheese pizza and meat lovers. The meat lovers was outstanding. I couldn't eat enough. Dined in on a Saturday evening and the crowd was very sparse. Comfortable inside with counter ordering and self-service tea and fountain drinks. Dallas is known for BBQ, not Pizza. But after nearly a dozen years of searching I've finally found my favorite pizza in Dallas! High quality ingredients in the pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. I haven't found a menu item yet that i don't like. Fans of Chicago style pizza may be very disappointed. You won't find deep dish on the menu, only a thin crispy crust. I also highly recommend the cheese bread as a starter. My favorite pizza is the Maria, a light BBQ chicken pizza. GREAT lunch special for about 8 bucks you get a personal pizza, salad, and drink. All Palio's are independently owned and operated so consistency from location to location can vary. But the Grapevine location has quality product and service. My other favorite spots are Valley Ranch (Irving) and Plano. The Colleyville location is good, but they tend to run their oven hot and the crust is EXTRA crisp and brown, nearing black. They have a great gluten free crust that is as crunchy as it is tasty! And, I don't need to go gluten free, it's just a really good crust. I've never had a bad pizza here and I like the unique combinations you can get. I've been to Palio's hundreds of times over the years and never had one issue. Yesterday's issue has caused me to never go back to the restaurant. My girlfriend and I came to eat some pizza with our puppy. I sat outside with the pup while she went into order and get drinks. While sitting outside our food that was ordered for-here was brought to us in to-go boxes, obviously asking us to leave although it was only 5:35pm... nowhere near closing, nor were we violating any federal protection laws by sitting Alone and quietly outside. About half way through the meal the same woman who served our food walked out to hand us empty to-go cups without saying a word. We continued to eat as we were almost done and getting ready to head home. As my girlfriend went to go through our trash away inside the store manager (Erin Brooks, W/F) walked outside and started screaming/yelling and causing a very large scene saying we are not allowed to eat at palios and that "you should know why,". I didn't say much and stayed quiet throughout the yelling and asked her why I was not allowed to eat their and what law I broke to cause refusal of service. She obviously had no answer for me and stormed off inside. She proceeded to threaten us with the police and damage to our property if we didn't "comply with her". As I was paying I noticed the girl making the food had her phone on the cutting board and was alternating between reaching in the produce bins and texting with the same gloves on. The pizza options are really unique and a welcome change from your traditional pepperoni and cheese pizzas. My boyfriend and I purchased a Groupon and were able to get more food than we might have typically chosen had we not used the Groupon. We both had salads - cesar and garden - and thought they were tasty. We chose the Noah's and Hawaiian Sunrise pizzas. My boyfriend was partial to the Noah's, while I was partial to the Hawaiian Sunrise. Both were delicious though! Service was quick and the staff was friendly. Food was supposed to be delivered, they had it for pick up. When we didn't show they called, and we discussed it. It was agreed to be cooked fresh and delivered. It came within ten minutes so obviously not fresh. Calzone was soggy as was the gyro pita. Gyro meat my husband said was good but the soggy calzone was flat both in shape and flavor.
