Stopped by Pacific Palisades Cafe for lunch and tried a little bit of everything - a savory breakfast burrito, a pastry, and a smoothie. I ordered the breakfast burrito with beef bulgogi, and it was impressively hearty. It was packed with a generous amount of egg and tender beef, making it a filling, protein-packed meal. The bulgogi added a delicious balance of savory and subtle sweetness, while the potatoes gave the burrito even more substance. The ingredients complemented one another well, and this is something I would absolutely order again. While waiting for the burrito, I had the pain au chocolat warmed up. It was flaky, buttery, and chocolatey without being overly sweet. Heating it brought out the richness of the pastry and melted the chocolate just enough. Of all the baked goods I have tried here so far, this has easily been my favorite. I also ordered the strawberry coconut smoothie. The coconut base tasted fairly mild on its own, with very little sweetness at first. Once I thoroughly mixed in the strawberry purée, however, the smoothie became much more flavorful and had the sweetness it needed. My only suggestion would be to drizzle the strawberry purée along the sides or layer through the middle of the cup rather than placing it on top. That would make it much easier to mix evenly and enjoy the intended strawberry flavor. Overall, everything was satisfying, and each item brought something different to the meal. The beef bulgogi breakfast burrito was hearty and flavorful, the pain au chocolat was a standout, and the smoothie became delicious once properly mixed. One of the few places like this open in the Palisades.... You order at the counter and retrieve your food when your name is called... bus own trays... The tipping prompts on the point of sale were outrageous for a place of this type 25-30%?? Food was all very good: BLT, Chinese chicken salad, Caesar salad with chicken added, zucchini, sticks, and fries.... Palisades Garden Cafe is an absolute local gem. As one of the few remaining legacy brick-and-mortar restaurants in the area, they are truly holding it down for the Pacific Palisades community. Given the affluent neighborhood, I fully expected "Palisades pricing", but I was incredibly pleased with how reasonable and fair the prices are. They really do right by the community here. Props to them! On the staff's recommendation, I grabbed the bacon breakfast burrito ($11.99). Let me tell you: this is a LEGIT breakfast burrito. I was honestly blown away by the quality. The bacon was perfectly crispy and generously portioned, but the real star of the show was the eggs. The chef deserves a serious raise because these scrambled eggs were like fluffy, yellow clouds of goodness. While it's not a massive, oversized burrito, the ingredient ratio is absolutely spot-on. I like how expansive the menu is, you can go multiple times in a week and feel like you got a different meal. They are pretty quick in there considering the amount of people during the lunch time rush. There is seating both inside and outside and they'll call your name when your food is ready. I ate so fast the veggie burger. It was really good. Right proportion of lettuce and tomatoes and buns to patty. Good sauce inside that I didn't need to add more. Curly fries were good, too. Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Right about of spice. Hits the spot after a hike. read more

Glad I got to check this spot out, apparently it's really popular and a long standing eatery here in Pacific Palisades. Their menu is extensive and definitely easy to find something you're going to like. I really like the space, really modern and found a table to sit at. Definitely enjoyed all of my food! What I got: Cheese fries (nacho cheese): golden crispy fries topped with nacho cheese goodness, nostalgic from childhood days eating cheese fries back after my little league baseball game days, it just feels comforting. Tater tots: the ultimate comfort side food, little potato goodness with a crispy outer layer. Chicken pesto Sandwich: love me some good pesto and with chicken, it was so delicious and had to finish eating it Turkey Burger: it was actually juicy, full of flavor and worth every bite Mango green tea, light and refreshing, great little pick me up. Last week was my first time back since the palisades fire, and it was amazing to see the cafe still standing strong, serving as a beacon for the community. The first time I stumbled across this uber-local cafe, I had just completed a hike at point dume. And I still remember the palisades garden cafe being a highlight of our day, as portions are hearty and delicious. This visit, what we ordered for the table: 1. Onion rings, accompanied by a house ranch - fresh and crispy...everything onion rings should be! 2. Wagyu burger - new on the menu, and so gourmet! Genuinely a great, juicy burger. 3. Chicken pesto ciabatta - healthy and satisfying. 4. Cajun fries with cheese dip - loved the seasoning for the Cajun dip, but preferred dipping in ranch over using the cheese sauce. 5. Everything was excellent. Loved the breading on the zucchini sticks...not too heavy. The breakfast burrito was delish. Perfect scrambled eggs, crisp bacon and potatoes inside and they give you both a red sauce and green . The burger was yummy...burger patty was flavored well and had a nice toast to the bun. Pastries were yummy. The only thing we didn't enjoy too much was the wings...they were still good...but a little too sweet for our taste. Absolute staple for the palisades, especially after the fires since lots of places are closed. If you're not a student and are in a rush don't go from 3-4 on weekdays it gets packed with students. They have tacos, salads, sandwiches, and smoothies that all taste great. Plenty of seating available but it can be hard to find seating when students come. Really nice space, but can feel crowded at times. read more

Amongst a burned down town, you'll find the famous palisades garden cafe. There are so few places up and running for lunch and it's so fortunate they stayed standing! My go-to is the chicken pesto sandwich it is so amazing! You can get anything in a sandwich or wrap and they just do it so well here! Sooo sad they don't sell brownies anymore it was my favorite! (Pls bring it back!) I highly recommend whether you're eating in or taking to go, you support local and try this cafe it's fantastic! this quaint Café near the beach is perfect for brunch and so popular with locals, and for good reason. The handcrafted drinks were amazing (the Matcha was very good quality), and the Café staples were elevated in a way that made them unique to other café food. For instance, instead of a regular turkey sandwich, I chose the turkey sandwich with pesto and cranberry, a delicious combination. I also really enjoyed the Nashville fries which were seasoned and mildly spicy, and perfect to dunk into their cheese sauce. We went to Palisades Garden on a Thursday afternoon last week after visiting the Getty Villa. It was a 10-15 minute drive and the cafe was pretty small but well run.. We all had burgers, breakfast burritos, and a pesto chicken wrap. Our party of 5 was very happy with the food, and prices were super reasonable. Much better than going to the Getty cafe for our teens, as the food was too overpriced to risk them not eating much of the food. Order took about 10 minutes to come out. we were there on the late lunch side and they seemed to be steadily busy but still pretty fast. Happy we went this route. Also the paid parking is temporary no charge. There is no pay kiosk per the cafe staff. We had no issues parking there for an hour. read more

I came here one afternoon with a few friends after a hike in Temescal. We were very hungry and boy did this place fill our stomachs!! I was at a point of being so hungry I couldn't make up my mind on food, but the employees behind the counter will very patient with me as I stood and stared blankly at their expansive menu trying to make up my mind on my order. I ended up getting the breakfast quesadilla with steak (treated myself ) and I was so surprised by the quantity of food I was met with! This quesadilla was huge (and normally my appetite is pretty huge after a hike but dang I couldn't finish). Immediate points there for incredible portion sizes. The rest of my friends really enjoyed their food as well! We ended up sitting outside to eat and there was plenty of seating wherever we wanted when we stopped in for lunch. We had just visited the Getty Villa and didn't want to go home hungry and didn't want to pay $23 for a wrap at the Getty. Yelp to the rescue. Palisades Garden Club had my attention at savory fries. We ordered the Nashville Chicken Sando (aka sandwich), Double Smashed Burger, and Chili Cheese Fries. I would recommend even if not starving. I typically could take or leave chili fries, but it was tasty and had a crunchy texture!! I ordered the mango green tea - pass on this next time and maybe try a different drink. I would go again. Ambiance is casual and chill. Cute decorations. Clean bathroom. I did have to wipe down our table a little when we seated ourselves, no biggie, though. Parking lot was next to the place but divided into a restricted area just for the car wash that was there and paid public parking (currently free).
