I have a pet peeve about basil. For $24 I got a few strings, literally a few thin strings, of basil. That does not make it a Caprese. Breakfast for our first day of vacation! My husband found this cute little place! They say us outside on a covered patio, lovely weather so it was perfect! I loved the fresh roses on each table! They had so much to choose from on the menu! My husband and son got the traditional eggs, bacon, potatoes, and blueberry pancakes Orange juice that tasted like out was fresh squeezed there! Delicious My daughter got the asparagus soup of the day, and my older son and I got the tortilla soup! So the tortilla soup was freaking great! We both loved it! First of all the name does not necessarily reflect all the cuisine that is available. There are a number of gourmet Spanish and Mexican food choices here. We ordered the Spanish tortilla and the fish tacos. They were both delicious! The seating is comfortable and the place charming. The service was friendly and fairly prompt. The shop was pretty much empty as we strolled in at 1pm. The vibe was perfect, chill interior with nice art decorating the outside sheltered area I got a Greek egg with spinach and yoghurt. I didn't expect much but this was SO GOOD. Eggs were perfect over easy, and the yoghurt added a nice tang to the mouthful. Update: Originally my review was 5 stars but I soon realized afterwards that my decaf coffee was not decaf. I am very sensitive to caffeine. We ate here a couple times during COVID. The outdoor eating area was cute and well spaced. Food was pretty good with the usual breakfast items often with a Mexican twist. I quite enjoyed the carne asada plate and the huevos rancheros. Fresh OJ was good but costly. My wife enjoyed her burrata caprese omelet but I thought it needed a little more flavor. Came here on Monday, waited for about 10 minutes and got seated. The wait here isn't too and. It's super cute with the vine and flowers. The staffs were nice as well. The regular breakfast (4/5) Burrata caprese omelette (5/5) - so good! Coffee and cappuccino are just basic, I would skip it. My family and I cole to Santa Monica every summer and we always have breakfast at Cora's at least once. We've been going there for 5 years and we e never been disappointed. Today I ordered my usual espresso drink and asked for it to be made with nf milk. My drink was definitely not nonfat. I asked 3 times if it was and was told yes, but when you are an avid coffee drinker, your taste buds don't fail you. The not so good: Seating is limited about specially for large groups, 2-4 people is ok, but they have only about 8 tables. It's right next to the road in construction so from time to time you can get some loud noises and winds.
