Now to the açaí bowls themselves Texture: Thick which is how I love my açaí bowls and covered in all the right fruit and granola that gave it a good crunch. Hubby and I were in the area because I wanted to go to Pressed to grab some juices. I told him I'll get him food and he wanted to get Acai bowls. There is only street parking, so it's a bit hard trying to find parking on the weekend in the area. We did loop around once and was able to find parking just around the block. Staff was super kind and I love the interior of the place. Hubby ordered the Palma bowl and I had the Hunter bowl. We both got just their original size but it was more than enough. Oh goodness, the bowls were just delicious! Everything just mixed so well together. We will honestly be back to try the other flavors they have. They also offer equator coffee, cold brews, horchata matcha ice lattes, iced tea, etc. But wait, there's more! They also have toast such as an avocado toast, almond butter, and Pb& J. I ended up ordering a regular amazonian bowl without the crushed cashews and coconut. The presentation was gorgeous, picture worthy and delicious. The fruit on top of my acai bowl was fresh and I loved that the mangos were soft and not hard like they weren't ripe. They are closed Mondays and hours vary on weekdays and weekends (see more info on Yelp page). I especially like to come after a run or working out because it's a great pick me up and tastes so refreshing and filling. I get the gatherer bowl because I don't like the coconut shavings in the original one and can't sub it. The almond butter works well. I've also tried the greenery and my friend's tropical - an alternative if you don't want an acaí bowl! You'll have to look for street parking. Not gonna lie... I've been lightweight dreaming about this place ever since I dove into their Hunter Bowl about a month ago. So, why haven't I returned since then? Because I'm kind of a lazy ass. HOWEVER... when I DO return, I plan on murdering another one of those acai bowls. Not sure if I'll be able to completely deviate from the Hunter Bowl just yet because I kinda sorta fell in love with it, but I do plan on diving head first into another one of these delicious acai bowls. Head FIRST ladies and gents! Ya know... I'm not really one for healthy foods. It's not that I don't like them because I do. It's honestly because I'm a carboholic, sugar fiend, fried food addict, and a lover of most things that are really bad for you (probably like most people?!). Had I known that a place like Palm Acai existed a while back, I definitely would have been frequenting this place more and replacing one of my "bad" meals with an acai bowl from Palm Acai. Yep... baby steps. Deliciously healthy baby steps. I've had a few acai bowls in the past, but none of them have been as fresh and as tasty as the one that I've had here. That Hunter Bowl is addictive. If you like peanut butter and chocolate alongside fresh fruit and granola... well then, be my guest! This bowl was so hearty and filling too! The prices may strike you as high when you first see them, but my "small bowl" fed me... twice. Granted that my appetite is small in the mornings, but their bowls are still nicely sized. The presentation was perf! They also make smoothies and I am dying to try one of those soon. If their bowls are any indication of how delicious their smoothies will be, then your girl is about to be HOOKED! I love the chill atmosphere of this spot too. It's pretty quiet and reserved. Small inside but they do have a few counter seats. It's located in the Elmwood district, so there are lots of places to sit outside and enjoy your bowl in and around the neighborhood. Glad that I discovered this little gem and I'll be happy to work them into my local rotation soon once I get off my lazy you know what to make my return. Only come here if you're ready to find every other acai place in the bay to be mediocre.. this place is THAT good. I was super excited when they opened in 2018, and in 2022, I'm still a huge fan! The consistency of their bowls is one of the better ones in the bay--it's neither too watery nor too thick. They also give a generous amounts of toppings (i.e. fruit, granola, etc). My personal favorite bowl here is the dragon bowl, because it is super light and refreshing. I've also tried the gatherer and hunter bowls, and they are also really good, especially if you like nut butter. If you haven't been here, please give it a visit! Tip: the large bowl is super worth--it is double the size of the regular but only a few dollars more! (They did get new bowls though, so I'm not sure how relevant this is anymore) read more

So, essential you are required to pick one of their options. We ordered the Palmar Açaí without the banana and nuts for $13 (M). The price is decent, the texture is pretty good but a little on the water-y side. Because they don't allow complimentary substitutions like all the açaí places I know, our bowl ended consisting of only açaí, strawberries & granola. Overall, I would not recommend this location if you like to customize your açaí bowls. read more

They do allow substitutions for allergies but I just wanted to be extra safe, especially since it was my first time trying it. The regular size is a good amount, and they definitely have a good ratio of acai base to granola to fruit toppings. The pitaya base itself wasn't actually that flavorful -- at least less than what I would've hoped for. However, the granola and fresh fruit on top were delicious and definitely made the bowl complete. I'm so happy to have found a good açaí place in the Bay Area!! I ordered the hunter bowl (little bear size) which was $11 and the perfect portion size. It comes with granola, honey, peanut butter, cacao nibs but they have many options if that isn't your preference for toppings! The açaí is smooth and delicious. Everything tasted very fresh and light but filling. There aren't a lot of seats inside and parking can be hard (I usually part at rhe Elmwood lot) but walking around the street to discover bookstores and such around is really enjoyable. Being originally from LA and having always had açaí bowls at the beaches, I can tell you right now that Palm's açaí bowls are DIVINE. I love everything they stand for (all their to-go containers and utensils are compostable) and their açaí actually tastes like açaí. I've been to some places where they taste bland, but NOT HERE. My go to is the gatherer bowl and I just love everything in it. The goji berries are sweet and chewy, and the honey and almond butter make the bowl feel so hearty and warm. Not to mention the fruit they use is ALWAYS FRESH, which is hard to come by because fruits are seasonal. Although some people may think the price is high, I think that it's worth it, especially because one regular sized bowl is a meal for me.
