I definitely recommend speaking with each other before communicating with a future tenant because…read morethe lack of communication within their leasing department is HORRIBLE. I was told about a larger unit, and I understand that circumstances arose that led the current tenant to decide to stay. But do not CALL ME after I visit the day before and tell me it's not available after visiting twice that same week. I was not informed about the situation at all until the day after, and, worst of all, it was over the phone when it should've been brought to my attention the day I visited in person. The phone call was infuriating as well. The woman who spoke to me, Ana, needed to talk with all parties first to see what they told me before speaking with me on the phone because she was clearly uninformed about the whole situation. There's also an email that backs up what I was talking about, and she still didn't know anything about it. It's not one person's fault; it's the whole department's fault for not communicating the circumstances among themselves. It was very unprofessional, and I hope they learn for any future tenants who consider this complex. As this was my second time going through this with this complex, I will not be returning ever again.

My husband and I have lived here for 4 years. We recently moved out since my husband got a new job…read more& we needed an additional parking space, but we really loved moving here. (The manager told me that there will be 2 available parking spots right after we move out lol what a timing) Here are pros and cons from our experience: Pros: 1) Monthly rent here has always been inexpensive. They did increase the rent 2 or 3 times while we lived, but it was a small amount and the rent was always below market price. 2) The environment inside the community is always clean and beautiful. It even smells good lol. It is also a gated community so you feel safe here. And since it's always kept clean, you don't get to see bugs here! This was a HUGE plus for me! 3) Good neighbors. People who live here are very quiet and sweet. + The windows are newly installed, and they block out the noise very well. 4) Last but not least, Xio the apartment manager is super sweet. She is always willing to help and very responsive. Having such a professional on-site manager felt great. Cons: 1) As I mentioned, parking spots were a major issue for us. We started living here when we had one car, but the problem started once we bought another car. The area has lots of apartments, so it's very hard to find street parking. If you're going to park multiple cars, you will have to check if they have extra parking spots available. If they do, there will be absolutely no problem. 2) In summer, the apartment gets very hot. It doesn't have a central AC system, and there's only one wall mounted AC in the living room. Since we lived upstairs, it was extra hot in the afternoon. It's also not an easy option to open windows, because you'll see your neighbors pass right next to you. Both of us are sensitive to heat, so it wasn't easy for us especially in summer time. Overall I truly enjoyed living here, and would definitely recommend renting this apartment to anyone, especially to someone who wants to save more but still wants a nice apartment.

Now at 17 years of service in the military, I have relocated numerous times and have experience with multiple property management teams. Good and bad. In my experience this is the best in service satisfaction thus far. Proactive, responsive, professional, and approachable. The outcome of their hard work is shown daily through the well-maintained grounds led by Miguel, the timely fixes done by Juan, and the genuine concern of the overall well-being of its inhabitants provided by Yesenia and Erika. Don't be deterred by the tourism brought in by Knotts Berry Farm and neighboring attractions. I have yet to see it interrupt or prevent me from having a pleasant stay. Cantabria apartments a place I'm proud to call home.

When I applied for my apartment, I was approved in a few days. Karina, the manager at the time, was amazing -- she explained everything and really fought for me when they tried to give my apartment to someone else that applied using section 8. She got it fixed, but that was just the start of the problems. After I moved in, I left my son's bike outside so we could play together. A few days later, I got an email saying nothing is allowed outside -- no bikes, no toys -- even though most people here have kids. They also send constant emails saying kids can't be outside without an adult right there, even if you're watching from the window. Even if you're outside with them they don't want them using scooters or playing with balls. Security is another joke. They have Ring cameras, but the quality is terrible and you have to pay extra. I asked Karina if I could put up my own cameras -- she said yes and even defended me when higher-ups complained. But once Karina left, management made me take them down. Their community cameras are slow and pointless. When my brother-in-law's car got looked into and his kid's bike was stolen, management didn't even bother to give him the footage. They also approved me to wash my cars behind my apartment -- then new management took that back and sent me a violation notice for something they had already said was fine. Parking is a nightmare if you have more than one car, especially with people parking from Knotts. No patio, no dog park, no gym, no Amazon hub for packages -- and if you have kids, get ready for constant complaints about toys and bikes. The only good thing here is the maintenance team and how Karina used to fight for us. I understand the new manager wants to look good for higher-ups, but they need to care about residents too. For what you pay, you can find a place with more freedom, better parking, and a family-friendly vibe. I'll definitely be looking for a new place once my lease is up. Consider this your warning.

Vehicle break-ins and property vandalism are also frequent concerns here, and the community amenities are often out of service or poorly maintained. Also, the laundry app is unreliable and frequently causes frustration. If you value your sleep whatsoever, be aware that maintenance often begins to use loud power tools in the morning (leaf-blowers/pressure washers), well before 9:00 a.m. Management is also now charging tenants for "dirty" carports. If your vehicle has even a minor oil leak or leaves any type of fluid stain, don't be surprised if you're billed for it. You'll also be required to carry renters insurance, but it feels more like an additional charge than a benefit, as there doesn't seem to be any meaningful value. For a 2 bed 1 bath it's almost 3K!!! Such a joke for the location where you'll be living with tenants that bring over criminals/drug users and they couldn't care less about that and more about how they can charge you extra. STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
