I just wanted to say how the salon has transformed. I have been coming to this location since before palm beach tan took over. It's always been the same, countless managers and associates whose time has come and gone. The Zoe arrived, just another face behind the counter at first Stepped up quickly and advanced to her current role. She has surrounded herself with a great bunch of ladies whom all seem to bought in to what she's selling, tan lotion and all. It's a welcoming place to come into and I love the vibe. I love this place!!! Berenice and Yoarely helped me set up my membership and explained to me the whole tanning process!! The few times I've gone and they're there the vibes feel homey and welcoming! It feels like I'm visiting friends! HOWEVER, I went once while Chasity was there and she made me uncomfortable. She's too quick and comes off as rude and pushy when in trying to speak. You can sense and hear the attitude in her voice and was treating one of the employees very rude and horrible in front of me and a few other customers that were waiting with me. Her vibes are very off and mean! To be honest I don't even feel comfortable tanning when she's there I feel like I'm bothering or something. Other than that, the other ladies are very sweet and friendly! Berenice directed me to my room and told me the steps on what to do in a patient and kind manner! 10/10 customer service and person! I just canceled my membership after almost three years. The employees are completely inept, and a couple of them are flat out rude. The "manager" Christopher has absolutely ZERO customer service skills and has absolutely no business being in charge. You keep changing your hours, which are virtually impossible to get to if you work until 6pm, and your weekend hours are absolutely ridiculous. I've had it. You're overly priced, your employees suck, and your hours are a joke. read more

This was my first time here and the front desk girl named Alex is amazing! They had a line and she made sure to greet everyone and had a smile on her face the entire time. I have been to other PBT locations and this is my fav by far! It stated with Ally who was totally amazing. I haven't seen her in a while but I have to commend the staff there now. I was stumped on my tanning process and 2 different products were suggested and I have to say I have THE most BEAUTIFUL tan now! I love all of the products and the staff (Shannon and Courtney) are always soo nice and welcoming. Even during a busy rush, he knows how to tend to everyone, get the rooms cleaned, all while staying organized and composed. Going here is throwing away $75. The mystic spray tan (with alllll the extra additives) I got was terrible. I ended up blotchy less than 2 days later. Upon calling they could offer only a new, (partial) spray tan but with no additives that I previously purchased and they only offered the basic spray for "light" - medium/dark costs more and so do bronzers, primers, accelerators and aromas. I don't want another (of lesser value) crappy spray tan. I would've appreciated a refund and just taken the loss of having to change my NYE dress last minute. Avoid this place is you want an even glow*** Note to owner - pls do not paste your script here asking me to further reach out. Ashton helped me and she was so nice. Explained everything and the room was clean. I think the sunless was a great deal because it's unlimited and it's the same price as if I were to do a single tan! Wow! AGAIN! This company has charged my account yet again once there were multiple conversations and I was assured that I would not be charged again. ( by the way, I was charged multiple times after this was canceled and they will still not refund my money back) I have no choice now to proceed legal action. A little disappointed with this place. I just moved to Newport from Scottsdale. I had a great experience at the salons I went to in Scottsdale and this has just been a joke. I've been in two beds and each bed literally had two burnt out bulbs. I don't think I would recommend palm beach tanning to anyone. It has really made me appreciate the salon I went to in Scottsdale - celebrity tanning. Also - the 24 hour minimum is an absolute joke. I've nerve heard of such a thing. In Scottsdale we did "once a day" and that was fine. But it is really inconvenient that I can't go to the salon until 24 hours has passed from last visit. read more

I went to my usual PBT location in Orange and their VersaSpa was broken (insert annoyed emoji here). They offered for me to use the Mystic Tanning booth, which I have never used in my life and felt was subpar in comparison to the Versa as it tans the back and front and not the sides as I assumed from how the process was described to me. The next closest PBT that had a VersaSpa was in Irvine. I dreaded the thought of driving there in rush hour traffic--and might I add, in the pouring rain where people use their brakes every 5 seconds d/t not being used to this weather. I get to PBT Irvine, go to pay for my tan and I'm being charged $5 more than what I usually pay. So now, I'm annoyed. I drive all the way to Irvine, in raining rush hour traffic only to be charged $5 more. Was it my fault the VersaSpa in Orange wasn't working? So, I explain to the manager Christian why that doesn't make sense. Long story short, he accommodated the price I was normally charged and kept his cool the entire time. Having worked in the ER dealing with lots of irate patients, I know first hand how much self-control it takes to stay calm and not lose your cool (me being the irate patient in this scenario). Kudos to Christian--it takes a very composed individual to put out fires with a very calm demeanor. Thank you, Christian. That's what great customer service should always look like. The 3 stars for non-functional equipment with no ETA as to when it will be fixed. Christian gets 5 stars. read more

They are very shady. Will not let you cancel your membership easily. Also try to keep you at a rate even if you don't use it by saying that all pricing is going up. Also, dealt with the Irvine Location. I see they have other complaints. Christian the manager specifically lied to me about the process to cancel. I am appalled and disappointed that companies treat their customers like this in todays world. I also used the Costa Mesa location and the machine is broken and it is a complete mess. Been coming here for at least 4 years. I have no complaints. I cant recall having a problem with any employee and as of this month, everyone is very friendly. I like the all the beds, but of course i have my favorite. I try to come in at obvi bisy times, like lunch hour and right after work. i think it is busier in the summer. read more

I must give a shout-out to Ali, Destiny, and Shannon at the Palm Beach Tan Irvine location. They truly go above and beyond in customer service, creating a friendly, professional, and personalized experience for their guests. They are so knowledgeable about the equipment, and have spent so much time helping me get just the right tan I am looking for in advance of my vacation, as I wanted to get some base color so I would not burn. They recommended a few products, but did not make me feel pressured to buy anything. Every time I go in, I am greeted with a warm smile, and they always ask about my last session to help guide my next one. Hi turnover. Long waits. Incorrect information in checking in. The customer is always wrong when a situation arises. Some Millennials staff members have the social skills and problems solving skills of that of a box or rocks and have no business being in this job or any that deals with people. 50% of the time I walkout due to staff shortage and long wait lines. Poorly run store. Up selling takes priority over customer service. Their customer priorities are all screwed up. Over all just a poorly run business, lots of excuses, and bad execution to service the customer. read more

Spray tan machines are consistently not working. I have reported problems with the spray not coming out at face/neck level on several occasions yet nothing has been done to correct the intermittent issues. The machine is old, the salon is in poor condition. Brissy was not at all concerned and refused to assist, only telling me to come back tomorrow for a comp spray (which is greatly inconvenient!). I asked for a manager and/or info to contact the corporate office and she refused. read more

I showed up at my tanning salon & realized the location recently switched to a PBT, I'm SOOOO HAPPY ABOUT THE CHANGE! I had a spray tan today and had booked with previous ownership so I was nervous upon showing up & realizing it was all new girls, new ownership, new machine (no hand air brushing). The spray tan i got is for my engagement shoot in two days so the change freaked me out! However, the ladies working were beyond amazing. So informative, welcoming, friendly & eased my nerves quickly. Kim the manager went above and beyond helping me select a color and teaching me the spray tan system. I honestly wasn't completely happy with the previous ownership & employees anyway it was just a convenient location. BUT now I love it! The change to PBT is such an improvement :) read more

Had to canceled my monthly membership by canceling credit card this week. They need to train their new staff better on billing and customer service. Ive been a monthly unlimited member for over 2 years, paid monthly unlimited membership fees and I hardly would make but 2 visits per month. I came in yesterday and I confirmed I was charged for this current month's membership fee, however the new girl at the front desk refused to let me tan unless I paid $150 for the past 2 months in which I never made a single visit nor was I contacted to correct any billing info. After she caught an attitude and started being disrespectful, I asked to cancel my monthly membership and I'd just pay for the single visit since I took the time out of my day to already drive down there. She refused to allow me to tan unless I paid for 2 past months they didn't charge me for and which I never used. Ridiculous! Why would I pay $150 for 2 months I never used or visited? I was already charged for this current month and refused to allow me to use it, cancel membership, or pay for the single visit. That's definitely how to lose a monthly membership by treating a loyal customer like that. read more

I was a member of Palm beach tan for over a year... not only was i member but had the most expensive package of 80 dollars a month. Recently my card got stolen and since I was recovering for my car accident I hadn't been going in to get tanned. Today was my first day back the girl at the front desk was looking me up and found that my card information was no longer working... I tell her that I have a new card and that I wanted to update the info.. she then takes my new card and says just so you know we will charge u a ten dollar fee for the late payment... I ask if she can wave and she says no she can't which I understand as not everyone there may have the authority to do that. So I then ask for the manager so I can speak to her about it... she says well she's not in right now and it doesn't matter because she will tell you the same thing. So I tell her I would still like to speak to the manager and she says will I know what my manager is going to say she's going to say no. I start to get frustrated because I don't understand why it's such a big deal for me to speak to the manager I'm a paying customer and a long term member.. so I then tell her please don't keep repeating that its pointless to speak to your manager just take my information down and tell her to follow up with me. What does she do ? She says again well "I'm sorry that you feel I keep repeating myself but my manager isn't going to do anything that I can't do I've been here for 3 years and I know the policy well." So I say ok then I will call your manager myself and let her know about how unprofessional this is what is your name, she says I can't give you my name. What is the point of not telling me her first name ? I'm not asking for her address her phone number her last name... I'm simply asking for her first name so I can reference to who I had the conversation with when I speak to her manager. Ughhh it's like dealing with a second grader at this point. In walks the manager, at this point I don't even care about the ten dollar late fee I'm just so annoyed with how I have been treated with this issue so I begin to tell the manager about the conversation... mind you I'm not cursing I'm not yelling I'm not even speaking in an aggressive Tone I'm simply just repeating what happened and why I'm not happy with the customer service and the manager goes don't speak to my girl this way... all because I'm making a complaint about an employee unprofessional behavior. Why are you a manager if you can't handle something as simple as a compliant from a customer? Here's the kicker it the girl had just taken down my information and passed down to her manager and the manager tried to wave it and was unable to then I would have just paid it and stayed a member for they at least have tried. But obviously that was to much to ask for there for it's too much to ask me to be a member here. I don't recommend this tanning salon once so ever ! read more
