I was in Jax spending the week with my daughter and she took me to a cool Brazilian/Portuguese pizza spot. It was in a pretty deserted strip mall on Arlington Blvd. It was an out of the way spot but it was very nice inside. We shared: Heart of Palms pizza (Tomato sauce, mozzarella, heart of Palms, oregano, and Catupiry cheese) I had: Calabreza sausage and onion SFIHA Chicken and Catupiry cheese SFIHA To drink: I had a Strawberry Rossolini (strawberry puree with Pinot Grigio) with a glass of lemonade from scratch that wasn't crazy sweet. Wow, who thought Brazilian pizza could be so good.? If you think you've tried every pizza out there, guess again you've not tried.Chello's pizza toppings I have been eyeing this location for several months, but it is nowhere near my house, so I needed a good excuse to stop in. My wife was out of town, so we had a boys night (my son and son-in-law) for the Friday night all you can eat buffet. I can tell you we really enjoyed ourselves both the wonderful service and unique brand of pizzas that Chello's serves. We did make one rookie mistake, and that was we actually tried the buffet. Take my advice don't go near the buffet, but get the buffet dinner. Because with the buffet dinner, they bring around pizzas for you to try, almost as if you were a Brazilian steakhouse (which is what it felt like). I can tell you the pizzas they brought out, we're outstanding and if they didn't have a pizza for you to try, they were glad to go back and do one so that everybody got to try it. But enough about our mistakes what you really want to know, is about the food; Caprese salad - it was on the buffet, but it was really good. Caesar salad - it was also on the buffet, but it was also really good. Cheeseballs - exactly as it sounds, really good. Pizza balls - kind of like pigs in a blanket, not really my thing. Lasagna - my least favorite thing I tried. I thought it was oversalted and under sauced. Brazilian meat pizza - Brazilian sausages, sliced up on Brazilian pizza, fantastic. Bacon and turkey pizza - another really good pizza Chicken Alfredo pizza - OK it's not what it's called but that's what it taste like, small bites of chicken with a cream sauce was really delightful. Coconut pineapple pizza - one of the dessert pizzas in the coconut and pineapple were served on a cheesy crust of the offputting, but it was really good. Nutella and strawberry pizza - call me, Bessie, the cow, but this was pretty amazing. Luckily I filled up on the buffet so I couldn't eat 10 pieces of these only had one, but it was good enough to have 10. Churro pizza - to me, this tasted like cinnamon, cinnamon toast, but again served over cheese, which for me, took away from it a little bit but I'm sure that's the Brazilian way, and we were here to eat Brazilian pizza. The woman who brought out the pizzas to us, would bring out fresh pizza and then go from table to table to see if anybody wanted a slice she was phenomenal. What wasn't phenomenal is that we couldn't get refills on water, lemonade, soda, or anything even after asking two and three times, it didn't take away from the experience because we really love the food, but it would be nice to be able to have your beverages reasonably filled up every now and then. Each night has different special, call or go to their website to see. Sunday has a brunch special for $16.99, that they invited us back for. Really good experience, of some unusual in the pizza space . I cannot think of a reason not to try it. read more

Lots of seats,lots of parking. awesome pizza's and chicken balls m,empanadas,Salads were full and fresh. The trio meat meal was so delicious. I went with my family here today. We all really enjoyed it!! Definitely would recommend this place!! Personally I think you should try the buffet so you can try the different pizzas. They sell American pizzas too and if you like meat lovers, that was awesome!!! But those that are adventurous, the Brazilian pizzas were really good! Some were different but not bad. The staff were really nice. When we first got there they were starting to set up the buffet so service was slow. But once it got moving, it was cool. read more

All you can eat Brazilian pizza is a cool concept, but it is not delivered to the table in an 'all you can eat' format. Each table and maybe each person will get one slice so they can make rounds to each table. I found myself wanting more pizza quicker than they could deliver. There are a lot of fun toppings/combinations to experience. My recommendation is to choose 1-2 pizzas you'd like to eat and just order the entire pie individually. They're new, so there are still some kinks to work out. The food's taste was amazing. The pizza dough was perfect. Very like NYC. We ordered 2 pies, the mushroom add pepperoni, and the calabrese sausage minus the olives which are supposed to be on it. The Mushroom came out first and it was perfect. HUGE chunks of garlic under the cheese which was stringy (good stringy) and delicious. Now for the down side. The second came covered in olives. They hadn't kept them off. I sent it back and decided to cancel it because the pizza's aren't the 12" they promised, but closer to 14" and we couldn't finish the first one. They took it off the bill and offered to cook us a take home pie on the house, but we turned them down as we're headed to New Orleans on Monday and wouldn't have time to eat it. The last thing they need improvement on is response time, I absently looked at the clock as we ordered and it was 5:35. Our first pizza didn't arrive at the table until 6:10. 35 minutes for a pizza is a little crazy. You can usually get one delivered to your home in 35 minutes, getting one from 15' away should be quicker. It was explained as we ordered after a large delivery order. They kept the coke glass full the entire time, so we can't complain about the service/server, but it's got to be quicker. Food: 5/5, speed 2/5 thus the 4* review. I love their margarita pizza, the dough is great authentic rustic style. I discovered it on DoorDash for lunch! However I have been disappointed recently that they now only offer the pizzas in the evenings! It is one of my favorite pizzas in Jax and wish they'd bring pizza back for lunch. read more

Chello's Pizza serves Brazilian-style pizza. I really liked the pizza crust, but overall the pizza taste was average at best. The prices were pretty high and the service was poor. I went on a Saturday night and it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive and two hours+ for the food. I was overcharged, but management removed the extra pizza from my bill. The live music left me with a splitting head ache. The musician was talented and played popular Brazilian music, but the audio distortion and loud volume was painful to endure. I ordered over the phone and stopped by about 15 minutes later to pickup the order. Both pizzas were ready and the cashier was friendly. The Portuga pizza had a good mix of ingredients (ham, boiled eggs, onions, olives, peas, hearts of palms), but the crust was a little bit burned underneath. Omg so yummy!!! The crust is crunchy and fits all the heavy toppings so well. The Portuga is a traditional Brazilian pizza and so good. The Hawaiian was one of the bests and they use fresh pineapple. Expensive for pizza but you're paying for good ingredients. I'm excited to come back and try more pizzas. Also very family friendly and laid back environment. read more

This place used to be much better. My family has ordered take-out and eaten inside the restaurant several times since they opened. We haven't been there for a while and thought we'd order take-out. I placed the order ($75.00 worth) online because, if you go to their website, that is pushed as the preferred way to order. I ordered three pizzas at 3:08 for pickup at 4:00 pm. When I got there at 4:00, they claimed that they "just got the order." I think it was more like they just bothered to check. They told me it would be 15-20 minutes. 30 minutes later, I was still waiting. Once I got the pizza home, there were ingredients on Teo of the three pizzas that were not requested (peas, black olives, and zucchini on the vegetarian and black olives on the Hawaiian. It was an all-around bad experience. I will stick with the other pizza places around tiwn. read more
