The tables were so close that I could have reached over and grabbed something off their plates if I wanted to. It made the experience feel cramped and lacking in privacy. The service was decent and our food was just okay. I ordered the French toast, which I enjoyed and thought was pretty good. My boys both ordered pancakes and complained that they were dry and needed a lot of syrup--we actually had to ask for extra syrup to make them more enjoyable. My husband's hash browns were overcooked, while mine were undercooked, so consistency seemed to be an issue. That said, we made the best of it and still enjoyed spending time together. While this wasn't a place that wowed us enough to return, I'm glad we took the chance and tried somewhere new. Sometimes that's part of the fun of exploring local restaurants.

I ordered my long time staple, the American breakfast, and added a side of avocado because my grandson lives for eggs, bacon, and avocado. I knew I would be able to share my meal with him. The reality is my heart was set on the bread basket which is why I adore this meal so much. I also ordered a cappuccino with oat milk sprinkled with cinnamon and it was delightful. We dined inside because it was a bit warm out and I wasn't sure how he was going to respond to al fresco dining. From start to finish, we had a fantastic experience. Though the place was busy, we were seated immediately and Jennifer was our server. Our orders (Big Country Hash and a Chicken Caesar Salad by special request) were on our table in no time. Our food was made fresh, delicious and served in oversized portions; all at a very reasonable price. Jennifer was extremely friendly, pleasant, attentive and accommodating, even with tending to larger groups in her area. She pointed out the restaurant automatically adds 18% to the check for the tip, which I'm glad she did. This is a favorite "diner"-type restaurant in our local market area.
