Very interesting location and pick up. Walk into a warehouse style location, check in via phone, locker opens up, and grab your food and go. Ordered the carnitas mixto bowls with cilantro green sauce and juicy pulled chicken with mole sauce. Also added avocado to the mixto bowl and I have to say it wasn't worth the cost; was given maybe 1/4 of an avocado for $1.95 (Safeway has it for $2 for a whole avocado). The flavor of the carnitas was ok but the chicken was very tasty! I was hoping for more mixed greens since it was supposed to be a salad not a rice bowl. Overall I think I would order it again but only a chicken Mixto bowl and see if I can ask for less rice. read more

pretty solid and healthy bowl! i got the chicken with half rice and half salad/greens. the accompanying sides like the salsa and beans. if you go in person to eat, the system/location is interesting. looks like a ghost kitchen?? there's a kiosk to order your food (among a ton of other restaurant choices). then you'll wait until the food is ready and put in a locker. once you get your order ready text OR see it ready on the TV screen, you scan your receipt to unlock the automated locker that has your bagged food. technically it's togo style. the taste of the creamy cilantro sauce was really bringing the dish together. i would applause them for their healthy and affordable options. really interesting order + pickup (?) experience tho! read more

This place just popped up on Doordash for our work weekly work lunches and we gave it a try, and I'll tell you it is a HIT. I've tried the Carnitas Mixto Bowl and Wagyu Barbacoa Mixto Bowl. To be honest I've gotten the rice bowl at first then switched to the mixto, and can't tell the difference. I now switched to just Mixto because it makes me feel more healthier lol. I tried the drink and it taste exactly how its described. It gives me that sweet satisfaction to check off my sweet tooth but also I'm digesting something my body will accept lmao. The wagyu bowl is a bit pricier but I mean, its Wagyu beef. Not exactly sure what kind and where its distributed from but I'm sure the slow-cooked part of it is where the costs are being compensated from. Everything about the food tastes fresh. I really like the mole and the cilantro green sauce. I usually pick mole for beef, but you do you. We've ordered here quite a few times and today was the first day I actually went there and it threw me off so heads up when you visit! This place is like a kitchen warehouse with a bunch of other restaurants. You order your food at a kiosk and wait. Seems like its card only and you input your number. Once you get the text update your food is ready, click the link to open the corresponding locker and grab your food! This is not a sit-down place to eat - at least the San Mateo location. But it is a great meal regardless if you're on the go! read more

Was off of work late and wanted to find something relatively healthy to eat, found this place and thought ok looks pretty good why not. Was a little hard to find at first because it is basically inside like a small warehouse, there's no seating btw it's literally a Togo place where your order on a touch pad, no big deal for me because I was planning to take it home anyways. It's pretty decent I think comparable to chipotle in a sense but a bit healthier chicken had good flavor as well. I think my only complaint would be that there wasn't enough chicken in the bowl there was a lot of everything else like cauliflower/rice/ cabbage but I think there was barely like 2 oz of chicken in the bowl. I'm glad I didn't order the wagyu barbacoa, which is more than twice the price of the chicken bowl, because if each bowl has as small a portion of protein as my bowl did I would be upset. I would've given it 4 stars if the protein felt proportionate to the rest of the bowl. read more

I tried Palmita for the first time this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I ordered the Tofu Ensalada, and it was absolutely delicious--the vegetables were incredibly fresh, and the firm tofu had great flavor. I also loved that the dish was gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, and completely plant-based. It's rare to find food that checks all those boxes while still being fresh, satisfying, and reasonably priced! Ordered Palmita for the first time and I am so pleased! I placed an order around 10 pm on a Friday night and food came rather quickly. I ordered the chicken mixto with beef barbacoa bowl plus additional topping of avocado and hot sauce. My friend got the barbacoa bowl with the same toppings. All I can say is YUM. So friggin flavorful, fresh, crispy greens, and tender meats. The way it was packaged was with care, the sauces in containers to prevent soggy salad and a kind, personalized note along with a postcard of their mission and thanks. On a rare sunny San Francisco day, we tried Palmita for the first time with a group of friends at the park! Between a dozen of us, we ordered almost every combination of protein + style of bowl + sauce. Our little family ordered a carnitas mixto bowl with green cilantro sauce, a chicken rice bowl with red sauce, side of tofu & green smoothies. My 18 month old is in a picky food phase, but gobbled up the tofu. My 3 year old loved the well seasoned chicken, especially because it was not dry. I loved the green & red sauces & recommend ordering both! We didn't have a chance to try the mole, but can't wait to. The carnitas mixto bowl was hearty with protein, veggies & carbs. There was enough food for a meal and a half (for me!). We can't wait for Palmita to arrive in SF! read more

Now this was an unusual restaurant. They're really not. They're in a warehouse building with other so-called restaurants that I suppose have a kitchen in there to prepare the food. You can't see them. You order & just pick it up in this locker typing thing. This was all surprising. Maybe it's the new way. I imagine it's a way for them to operate with way less overhead expenses. Well I wasn't expecting this. I thought it was a sit-down restaurant, which I prefer. The carnitas bowel was just ok. It was filled with rice & some veggies.
