    5. Six Pieces Crab Wonton
    Dana K.

Ordered food to go and picked it up. Disappointed when I got home and my lettuce was on top of hot food and wilted. Then when I opened mixture for lettuce wrap it did not look or taste like chicken, it went into the trash quickly. The crab Rangoon were good and worth ordering. Wonton soup was so salty it also went into the trash with the wontons mushy and falling apart. Hunan chicken with white rice was good and I saved the leftovers. With half of the food in the trash I can't give this place more than 2 stars which is sad as it's only a few miles from home. Do better.

Broccoli beef, hot and sour soup and egg rolls- all quite tasty

The Hunan Chicken is probably the best Chinese dish I have eaten in 20 years. Outstanding.

I love this palce. Trying new things is good there. But some things have to much oil and I thought it was kinda gross that way.

She's beginning to make a turn, and when I said, "Let's eat something different," she responded with.." How about Chinese?" I live in California and hay no clue which one to pick and I waited a little late to ask her, I had to research quickly. I landed on the top 3 using chat gbt, and then I used Yelp to research them individually. I added additional instructions on each item I ordered in hopes that I covered my bases. After placing my order with various selections (Mom's super picky) for alternate options, the restaurant called me and asked a couple of questions for additional clarity and even made recommendations. She was beyond kind and warm spirited. I ordered at least one option from all menu categories. My total was a little over $100 for just the 2 of us, and delivery tip, etc. Note: My mother's residence is very challenging with parking and delivery when it's the first time. The grub hub driver was confused, but we communicated well The packaging was better than most. I stopped using delivery due to the drivers ability to get into the fix and sample items. They packed it so well that I could tell nothing was tampered. The food was DELICIOUS!!! The freshest Chinese food I've had in at least 15 years. Especially with delivery. We were beyond pleased. Every single item from the two types of egg rolls, pot stickers, wonton soup, beef and broccoli, shrimp fried rice, and the kung pao chicken/beef/shrimp chef's combination was fantastic. We didn't taste too much sodium (Mom's fear), and the homemade mustard was good but didn't give us the extra kick we're used to. The homemade red pepper sauce was well made. We love spicy. We're not into fortune cookies, but I decided to try one. I could tell they were not old at all. They reminded me of a very thin vanilla wafer.

Sesame chicken was crunchy outside, moist inside -- perfectly executed. Fried rice and crab rangoons held their own alongside it. Dinner portion with fried rice and crab rangoons on the side. $27.06 before tip for food that punches well above that price point. I'll be honest -- I'm picky about Chinese food. Fortune House earned it anyway. SAS Verdict: Approved. One of the better lunch finds in Irving. Don't sleep on it.

There was significantly more onion than beef, and the beef itself was not tender. The overall flavor was also lacking and not what we expected. - Salt & Pepper Pork was also not very tender and lacked the flavorful seasoning we were hoping for. - Eggplant (lunch portion) was the highlight of the meal. The eggplant had a good flavor and was enjoyable. However, the egg roll that came with the lunch was soggy rather than crispy. Overall, the eggplant was good, but the Mongolian beef and salt & pepper pork were disappointing, especially considering the dinner portion and quality of the meat.

As we were waiting, we noticed that 4-5 tables were done eating and paid their bills. All got up and left, the staff quickly cleaned the tables. The cleaned tables were empty for another 15 minutes. The lady that took our names down took a while to call the next customers. Seems like we were waiting just to wait...she sat one party down and waited another 10 minute to sit the next group... anyways, after we waited for a good 40 minutes, we were finally called to be seated. Sat down and was immediately served with water and took our order down. Time for the food review: Chicken popcorn - nice crisp and texture, but lacking flavor. Felt like it needed a dipping sauce. Pork lard rice - disappointing, bland Pork intestine with green mustard - this dish was okay.. Crispy garlic salted fish - fish was nicely fried and flavor was good. Probably the best dish so far Crispy pork chop - this is the reason why we came here.. we wanted to find a dish like May Ice cream. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. The pork chop was extremely salted. From the skin to the pork itself. Walnut shrimp - this dish was foul. Who puts sprinkles on the side?! Tasted like I was eating an ice cream shop. The shrimp was also dry. Overall, not worth going and waiting. Food was lacking.

Came during the soft opening in September 2025 with excited expectations based on what we've heard, hoping to find a new go to Taiwanese spot. Unfortunately we didn't find what we were looking for. I admit this was the soft opening and things may improve, and for their sake I hope they do. Biggest issues for us were lack of flavor in the meat and multiple proteins being overcooked. The sauces they used had the flavor but it seems like the meat just wasn't given the time to marinate because the meat itself was bland. That coupled with proteins being a bit dry from being overcooked and you don't have a good combo. If they can tweak their prep process to let the meat marinate then it would solve most of the problems though. The best dish was the fried pork chop rice by far. A bit on the sweeter side so it just depends on how you like it. The bok choy it came with was basically raw though had more crunch than the pork chop. Service was also a mixed bag. The server was super nice and helped give us recs but it just seemed like they were still getting the hang of working in a restaurant. A glass of water got some food in it so the server took it away but they never brought us a new one. Again, soft opening so I give that some grace, but food has to be more on point for a new restaurant to make it. So all in all, there are definitely some kinks to work through for them. Normally I wouldn't write a review for soft opening but given that there are old reviews here plus food quality missed the mark more than I think it should've, I think people on Yelp should get a heads up.
