+ SAP Center Review + Oh my goodness... I absolutely scarfed this down. The arepas here are incredible! Stuffed with so much stuff. I got the Sifrina, which I highly recommend! They add so much shredded chicken and avocado, it wS OVERFLOWING! Incredients were fresh and the arepa itself was sooo decadent. The corn flavor was present and fragrant. Delicious!!! Great for gluten-free friends too :)

Yo no regreso. Muy elevado el precio, casi $30 USD por todo y ni bebida ordené. Le falta mucho todavía. No hay atención al cliente. Mucha suerte.

One of the best arepas I have ever had! The meat is beyond flavorful, portion of it is amazing as well! The sauces are absolutely delicious! The spicy one is the perfect touch of spice. Inside seating and indoor is clean and quiet. The staff are really helpful with any questions I had during the order process. This location is perfect for anybody going around downtown SJ and want quick, delicious food! 10/10.

First time trying Venezuelan arepas today, and Pana definitely made it a great intro to it! What great service also. German was incredibly helpful walking me through the menu, and I ended up going with his recommendation. the popular arepa loaded with shredded beef, sweet plantains, cheese, and black beans. It was delicious and super filling. The garlic and avocado sauces took the flavors to another level, and the beef was so tender and flavorful. The spot is tucked inside a food-hall style setup alongside a few other businesses, making it an easy stop for a quick, satisfying meal. I'm definitely coming back with friends and trying the dessert with extra plantain on the side!

I have been customers for at least 5 years in Santa Cruz location, I'm from San Jose and travel all the way from here just because this arepas worthy. Now they opened this location in my town and I'm very happy, yesterday I ordered and is the same great flavor, quality and service. Highly recommend

Wahoo! Finally in SJ from Santa Cruz in the downtown food hall. (Without going to SAP to get it). Authentic delicious Venezuelan food. We had the Arepa Pabellon which was big enough to share and the tastes of home flood through. Don't forget to try the Guasacaca (avocado sauce). Owner was here and it was great to see him. The food hall is neat and clean, keeps costs down with kiosks which are easy to navigate.

Delicious! Very large stuffed arepa! Flavors are authentic. The person who brought the food out was very nice. I ate too fast for a picture :(

Come inside to order at kiosk. May sit down and eat ! Food is 10/10. To ordene la Sifrina y estuvo increíble !

Amazing service and super tasty arepas! Ingredients taste so fresh, stuffed with tender meat, flavorful beans and sweet plantains, I was a big fan of this combination. I recommend this restaurant for a filling bite, not to mention the awesome hospitality of the owner German, definitely coming back and getting more soon :)

Its in a nice area and the plaza its in is pretty empty so parking is super easy. When you walk in theres a hostess stand and you need to wait so you can be seated. Its a cute restaurant. Has a large TV. Super casual. The server my husband and I had was super nice. We ordered: -Blackberry juice -Colombiana -Pacfico -Morcilla con papas -1 beef empanada -1 chicken empanada -Bandeja paisa The food and drinks all came out in like 5min. Super quick! The empanadas were really good, well seasoned. Morcilla was delicious! The potatos are not seasoned but you can salt them yourself. They come with 2 sauces one thats guacamole and the other was tapatio based, which was disappointing because it should come with aji. The bandeja paisa was okay. The only thing I didnt like about it was the ground beef. I will be back to try other dishes.

Came here on a weeknight and in the middle of our meal they set up speakers and there was a comedy show in Spanish. Just not what we were expecting as we were looking for a place to eat where we could have a conversation. The food had nice flavors, but the quality of the meat was hit or miss. One plate had nice tender beef while the other one was very tough.

    * Who: friend, partner, & I * What: late lunch…read more* When: SF Pride / Thursday around 3pm * Why: needed to eat after checking in to the hotel * Space/Decor: kind of big, but also kind of not. It was pretty busy but partially due to them playing a World Cup match. Decor was average via it was a standard restaurant with not too much styling. Place was decently clean. * Service: was pretty good. We were seated fairly quickly, they checked on us a decent amount, & the waitress was ok-knowledgeable (there may have been a slight language barrier) as she tried to explain some items. * Food: menu was pretty extensive as there were more things we wanted but didn't get. I personally enjoyed it though my friend & partner said the rice was a little dry. Liked the trio meat plate, while the other 2 liked their empanadas, & we lol thought the calamari while big was too breaded. They also had a new lumpia of queso/cheese which was interesting! * Final Thoughts: secret-ish fusion restaurant with decent service, both plenty of regular & unique food options at a price that won't break the bank. Food quality may be hit or miss, depending on the individual person. Would recommend & would return, though not necessarily running back to it. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10

HEADS UP- this is NOT a restaurant‼there is one chef who sets up a "pop-up" in various locations…read more We were not aware of this at first so we walked to two different locations before finding the right one, which was at Mayes Oyster House on Polk St. Finally came across the correct location on his Instagram story at @arepasenbici. Now we know to also check his website at arepasenbici.com *WAIT TIME- our party of 3 arrived right around 7 pm. We were a bit confused upon arrival since there were no other customers, only a bartender on FaceTime and a DJ jamming out by himself in the corner. We were worried that we went to the wrong place again, but it turns out that majority of the chef's customers just orders ahead online then picks up to-go. After asking the bartender if this was the right place to find arepas, she told us to walk towards the back and meet the chef in the kitchen. Then the chef handed us barcodes to scan and we did not have to wait extremely long for our orders but it also wasn't super fast since he had other orders to take care of. *AMBIANCE- fun, loud, "going-out" type of vibes at this specific location since it is also karaoke night on Wednesdays starting at 7 pm. *QUALITY- great! This was our first time trying our Venezuelan food and definitely won't be our last. Although we have no other arepas to compare it to, we can confidently say that it was prepped with great care and skill. Love how there's also a vegan option, which is the Dom arepa! *CUSTOMER SERVICE- great! The chef is friendly and highly personable, which definitely plays a role in us wanting to support him even more! He even surprised our friend with 2 pastellitos after finding out she didn't order some when both my fiancé and I did, which was very nice and inclusive of him. *RESTROOM- bathroom available inside at this specific location. *OUTDOOR SEATING- available, but no outdoor heaters. *PARKING- no private lot available, best bet would be metered street parking on streets surrounding Polk like Bush St which is free after 6 pm!
