    French toast with berries
    Michael B.

Had Sunday brunch with some friends. Had some nice outdoor seating on a beautiful May morning. The service was efficient. Menu has a good mix of traditional breakfast fare and other more traditional lunch items. One of the best pancakes I ever had. The breakfast burrito was good, with silky scrambled eggs. Not much bacon or potatoes in the burrito though. Everyone was fairly satisfied with the meal and the location.

Was initially concerned about a long wait coming here since every time I pass it at Ponce it looks packed, but luckily that was not the case at all. I came with a party of three at 10am on a Wednesday and there were only a handful of other people present. The server was friendly and the service was prompt. I ordered the Avocado Toast with a side of potatoes because I was worried the toast would not be filling enough. Contrary to my concern, the toast was quite filling and delicious. However, it was served on a piece of paper on a metal tray. There were over the course of the meal the toast got a little soggy from the toppings, and the paper kept getting stuck to the bottom. This resulted in shreds of paper sticking to the toast which was a little disgusting. Would be an easy adjustment for the restaurant to make though. The potatoes were crispy and complimented the toast nicely. The interior is cute, and the floor has a tile with little pancakes throughout which I found just adorable. The seating included counter space, outdoor seating, tables, and booths of many sizes to accommodate different parties. I do believe that you have to pay for the Ponce parking if you use one of their lots which is an added cost.

The star of the show and I give this a 7.2

It's all about location. Every time I visit Ponce city market this breakfast place is always packed. I'm talking line out the door, so I took a trip on Friday mid morning around 11:30am to check it out The service was decent. I feel the food was average. There's nothing that stands out on the menu to me. The pancakes taste average. The French toast was great. It actually was the star of the show while we tried pork and chicken sausage. It was just OK. The breakfast potatoes were normal potatoes. I will say that the bacon had a funny aftertaste (pork bacon) They have outdoor and indoor seating. The establishment is decorated fairly cute, but there are far better breakfast places in my opinion. However, if you're at Ponce it's easy to navigate yourself to this place . The location works for this establishment, my overall rating is a 7.2.

    Great

I had French toast sticks with a side of bacon . The butter was amazing!!!the bacon just melted in my mouth. Very well pleased with the results.Service was excellent. Ambiance was soft and warming. Will definitely be going back.

Had a breakfast date with my hubby. We walked in and were greeted with friendly hellos. Everything was clean and bright. Our server was helpful and friendly. My hubby ordered the pancake breakfast and loved it. I ordered the ricotta pancakes. They were huge - 3 plate filler pancakes! The ricotta is cooked into the pancake and a layer of lemon curd sauce is spread on the top pancake. It had a bright flavor. I do wish the lemon was on each pancake, but that's just me. I loved how the edges of the pancake were crisp. I could only eat almost half of the serving, so I brought home the remainder (which was enough to share with hubby ) for another meal. My only ding are the prices which are a little high, but honestly what isn't these days? We will definitely be back! Next time I want to try the French toast!

It speaks for itself! Very tasty and perfect proportions!

This is now my favorite brunch spot in the city. Surprisingly I've never had a problem with getting a table as soon as i arrive. I also suggest sitting outside if the weather is right. My waitress convinced us to get the craft mimosas which was a great decision lol. The food is large portions and every bite is great!

Hey y'all I am back. Let's get into it. Parking - have to pay for parking. It's located on the side of ponce city and they do not validate. Validate if you come to eat when they open very very early. Service - everyone was sweet to me. Tables were clean and the restaurant! Bathroom is located through the back doors into another small room by ponce if you are looking. The kitchen is open, so you can see your food coming out / them preparing it. Food- I def came for the pancakes because it's called pancake social. . I got the blueberry type. So yummy, fluffy and warm. My food came out relatively fast. I also got the eggs scrambled and the hash brown patties. The eggs nothing special. The hash browns were a little on the salty side but good color and crunch. I also had their fresh orange juice and it was good. Not too sweet. They have other juices I didn't try and was out of one at the time. Timing - I went after my run club so it was around 9/930. I was able to walk in and get a table immediately. When I was leaving the crowds started coming in. I would advise if possible to make a reservation if not early in the morning. They have seating inside , outside , and at the bar. I would definitely come back. I would say they don't have alternative meat options. Red meat , pork, and chicken but no turkey or vegan options in meat fyi. I would have loved a turkey patties or link with this meal.

Such a cute brunch place and food was yum! Had a good breakfast debrief here with my friends. The service was amazing - I felt terrible because I accidentally knocked over my glass of ice and the waitress was so sweet about it. Definitely would come again!

Cute little pancake house Great for breakfast/brunch /lunch. Clean white industrial vibe. Solid menu-great options. The server was accommodating when our daughter came in after we ordered. The food was fresh and hot. I got the pancake plate. -the pancakes were light and fluffy and filled the entire plate, eggs OM were crispy on the edges like gramma used to make - yum!. I did have to wait several minutes for syrup and butter to arrive. And 2 omelets- The portions are generous here. Prepare to eat!

Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Reviews I'd seen online mentioned parking is a bit limited and that the restaurant is frequently busy. So we were prepared for that even though we were going on a Thursday mid morning. I think there was an influx of people celebrating graduations because it was in fact very busy. However we got very lucky with parking and happened to come in right as someone was leaving. I was sure we would have a wait for a table, which of course would have been fine, but actually we were seated immediately! Which was super nice and unexpected. The atmosphere is bustling but not in a bad way. The restaurant itself is adorable and has a lot of character. It feels like you're having breakfast at an old friend's house. The service was great and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered a specialty coffee, I believe it was the almond joy cold brew, and it was delicious. Strong, which is how I like it and not overly sweet. I ordered the chicken biscuit on the waiter's recommendation and it was absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Juicy and crispy. My husband ordered the pimento cheese omelette and was very happy with it, the bacon was thick cut and smoky and flavorful. The pimento cheese grits that came on the side for me were also a stand out, such great flavor. The biscuits are fantastic and the blueberry basil jam that came with my husband's meal was such a nice touch. We will absolutely make a point to come back to Buttermilk Kitchen next time we visit the Atlanta area.

First things first: the Chicken Biscuit. Buttermilk Kitchen's biscuit is on the crunchy, honey-flavored side. I personally prefer fluffier, more buttery biscuits, so this one wasn't my favorite. That aside, the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned and paired well with the cheese grits. If you ever wanted a dry, crunchy version of Homegrown's Comfy Chicken Biscuit, come give this a shot. I also tried the Hash Bowl, which was a bit underwhelming. It was a *lot* of potatoes compared to the eggs and bacon bits, and there wasn't a lot of seasoning other than the bacon. Would rather recommend one of the other options if you end up visiting. The drinks are good as well, would recommend the matcha latte (not too sweet!) and the French Press coffee.

The dining room isn't very large and has a cozy, homey feel. We ordered the chocolate pancakes and the brisket melt. Both were good, but the pancakes were definitely the standout. The brisket melt was enjoyable, but it was a little one-note. Adding the pickles that came on the side helped brighten it up, but it wasn't anything particularly memorable. I'd definitely order the pancakes again. My cinnamon latte was also really good, and the biscuit was solid. The service was a little slow, despite the restaurant not being very busy. That said, it was still a relaxed and enjoyable experience overall. Ratings: Chocolate Pancakes: 8.5/10 Brisket Melt: 6.5/10 Cinnamon Latte: 8/10 Biscuit: 8/10

We arrived sometime after 9 and many people were waiting outside for a table. They don't take reservations. Not very big inside the restaurant but they do have a somewhat large outside patio covered and with fans everywhere. It wasn't too bad with the extreme heat and humidity outside. Our server was attentive to us and our needs. We enjoyed our meals completely. The breakfast chicken sausage was delicious as were our pancakes. The latte with lavender was something my daughter had read during her research and people said it was delicious as it is not on the menu. I'd would have given 5*, but my husband did find a fairly large roach in the bathroom on the wall. Now mind you, it's a very old building in a very old part of town. Would I come again knowing this, yes as the food was very good as well as the service. Beware parking is tight and not a lot of it in the very small lot. Not sure if there is parking down the street or not.

One thing I really loved was the photo booth outside in the parking garage--it was such a fun touch and made the visit even more memorable. The only downside was the parking. SUPER unimpressed with my visit here…read more Based on the decor, especially the photo area in the parking deck and the fake flower arch outside, my first impression was that this was going to be a "TikTok trap": a restaurant focused more on aesthetics than food or service. Unfortunately, that impression ended up being accurate. It took forever for our food to come out. The parties around us were clearly frustrated as well. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Oh, and that other party that was visibly irritated with the wait had to wait even longer because there was a hair in their food.
