It's all about location. Every time I visit Ponce city market this breakfast place is always packed. I'm talking line out the door, so I took a trip on Friday mid morning around 11:30am to check it out The service was decent. I feel the food was average. There's nothing that stands out on the menu to me. The pancakes taste average. The French toast was great. It actually was the star of the show while we tried pork and chicken sausage. It was just OK. The breakfast potatoes were normal potatoes. I will say that the bacon had a funny aftertaste (pork bacon) They have outdoor and indoor seating. The establishment is decorated fairly cute, but there are far better breakfast places in my opinion. However, if you're at Ponce it's easy to navigate yourself to this place . The ricotta is cooked into the pancake and a layer of lemon curd sauce is spread on the top pancake. It had a bright flavor. I do wish the lemon was on each pancake, but that's just me. I loved how the edges of the pancake were crisp. I could only eat almost half of the serving, so I brought home the remainder (which was enough to share with hubby ) for another meal. Service - everyone was sweet to me. Tables were clean and the restaurant! Bathroom is located through the back doors into another small room by ponce if you are looking. The kitchen is open, so you can see your food coming out / them preparing it. Food- I def came for the pancakes because it's called pancake social. . I got the blueberry type. So yummy, fluffy and warm. My food came out relatively fast. I also got the eggs scrambled and the hash brown patties. The eggs nothing special. The hash browns were a little on the salty side but good color and crunch. I also had their fresh orange juice and it was good. Not too sweet. They have other juices I didn't try and was out of one at the time. Timing - I went after my run club so it was around 9/930. I was able to walk in and get a table immediately. When I was leaving the crowds started coming in. I would advise if possible to make a reservation if not early in the morning. They have seating inside , outside , and at the bar. I walked in and I was given a seat right away....only downside was it was outside on the very edge of their patio and was directly in the sun so I was absolutely roasting for my entire visit. There were also a lot of bugs around my table, I had to constantly swat them away. The food was great, I had the chicken and pancakes and when I was done with my meal I was stuffed! Parking was easy, especially for a Friday around 10:30/11 a.m. They offer free parking right in front of the restaurant, and there's also a parking deck nearby, which is super convenient depending on the time of day. For food, I ordered: Single Buttermilk Pancake ($4.50) Savory Grits with Cheese ($4) Hot Honey Chicken Bites ($10) Tater Tots ($5.50) The flavors were great across the board--the pancake was light, fluffy, and delicious; the chicken bites had a nice kick; the grits were creamy and flavorful; and the tots were crispy and seasoned well. That said, while the food tasted great, most of it wasn't particularly warm when it arrived--the pancake was the only thing served hot. That was a little disappointing, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy. The pancake itself had no zest or brightness -- just a very minimal, lackluster effort. I also tried the chicken sausage, which had a strange aftertaste that I couldn't get past. On top of that, the service could use improvement. When I walked in, the cashier kept chatting and didn't acknowledge me. I had to wait for someone else to come from the back to take my order. Really enjoyed our meal here this morning. Our server was really friendly and fast. The coffee was hot and the orange juice tasted so fresh and delicious! My husband got the chicken and French toast and could not stop raving about it. The pancakes were so fluffy and light which I truly enjoyed and the chicken links were really tasty. The undercooked part was the part I wasn't ok with. Outside was brown but it wasn't cooked all the way through. There are so many breakfast places in Atlanta. It's only natural to compare places. I would normally try something else if I didn't like what I ordered but I'm afraid to come back and order an omelette because of the taste of the eggs. You can't miss Pancake Social when you visit Ponce City Market (PCM) be I enjoyed my meal & the service wasn't bad. There is outside seating and plenty of seats inside. As a local, it wouldn't be a place I would go back to often, however, if you're visiting, it is definitely worth trying for breakfast or brunch. PARKING: It cost to park at PCM, however, they validate your ticket at a kiosk inside! I'm not sure if there was something wrong with my parking validation because it didn't seem to work.
