If the line and wait was long and you have NEVER tried the place, it is uncalled for to leave a 1 star review. Food has been Excellent every time. Love the burritos. I've been here a few times but don't plan on going back. I went the first weekend they opened and had a burrito. It was really good and craved it again a couple days later. This time, again, I got a burrito. I brought it home started eating it and but into a piece of wood. It was about a 1/4 of an inch around. I figured it was maybe a piece of some type of skewer they cook the meat on, but I really have no idea. Finally, the 3rd time I went, I was pretty grossed out. The man that was making my food had on gloves. He put the tortilla on the warmer. After he did that, he pulled up a red plastic container, while he was speaking to someone that he knew. He stuck his hands (with the gloves still on) into the container with some liquid (maybe hot water?), squeezed a rag out then wiped down a knife and the top of the tortilla warmer. He didn't change his gloves and took my tortilla out of the warmer. Then made my burrito! I'm all set with going back. read more

I've been here several times since it opened and will continue to visit regularly. The food is tasty and they have a great variety on the menu. After being disappointed by the poor Mexican options in the area, I can happily say that Pancho's doesn't disappoint. Out of everything I've tried, the pork carnitas and their hot sauce both deserve a shout-out for being absolutely delicious. I'm knocking a star off my rating because they aren't always generous with portions. They charge extra for sour-cream, and provide only a tiny drizzle when you do order it. Sometimes the burritos are 60-70% rice with only a small amount of meat and beans. If they can deliver more consistent portions, and stop charging extra for sour cream, they'll be in great shape. read more

We were craving Mexican and this came up as a highly rated place. 4 of us went for lunch and all ordered different things (enchiladas, burrito, quesadilla, and salad). The food was pretty bland and no one was overly satisfied with their food. I had a chicken enchilada and the meat didn't taste great and the red chili sauce was bland as well. The place was so hot and it was only 50 degrees out, I can't imagine how warm it gets in the summer. The guacamole and salsa was good but other than that not great. I went here for lunch and had the carnitas tacos and everything was super fresh and tasty. I loved the marinated onions and freshly chopped cilantro as well as the authentic Mexican cheese. These weren't the typical tacos in crispy shells - instead they were soft corn tortillas, very similar to the ones I had on my last trip to Mexico. We've been waiting for Pancho's Taqueria to open up and while it's only been a few weeks, every time I drive by there's a line! This place has a grill in the service area, and steam table with meat products waiting be made into tacos, burritos and other items. It concerned me a bit because of everything that's been going on with the "big chain" burrito place. I was concerned especially because without corporate guidance, I am not sure there is a standard followed as to how long these foods can "wait" before being replaced. I had been waiting for Pancho's to open along with everyone else, so I decided to give it a try anyway. The biggest issue for me turned out to be high prices, small portions, and even more importantly hidden add on items. A taco (just larger than a drink coaster) starts at $3.35.and burrito starts at $5.45, I can't imagine how small that must be because I ordered the "Super Burrito" ($6.25) which was humble at best. (It was about the size of a large pickle, or less than 1/2 the size of most standard burritos I have had). You have to watch out here though because many items will add to the cost of your food. These add ons are not posted on the menu, and they don't tell you about them either. Before ordering I asked what comes in a burrito. The guy behind the counter said "whatever you want". It was not until I checked out and had my receipt in hand that I could see that my $6.25 burrito was on the receipt for $8.45. The receipt was the first indication that cashier had listened to me order and added $.95 for Guacamole, $.65 for cheese, $.60 for sour cream. That just seems shady to me. I guess they can charge as much as they want, but I think they have an obligation to be upfront about their pricing and add ons. Aside from being very salty, my food was adequate in taste, but if you are looking for a hearty Mexican dinner that is also a good value, this is NOT the place to go. read more

This is an much-needed addition to the restaurant options in Dedham Square. My husband and two kids (ages 5 and 10 months) ate here for dinner last night. We got a fish burrito, fish taco, carnitas taco, and a cheese quesadilla. The fish was cooked to order and the taco portions were generous. They even gave me a little extra pork on the side at no charge for my 10 month old since they don't have a kids' menu. Everything was tasty and satisfying. I don't have any real complaints except I would love for them to offer a few Mexican desserts and I'm not crazy about paying 60 cents extra just for sour cream. But those aren't deal breakers - we'll definitely eat here again! read more

I also ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla with vegetables and was surprised to see a burrito with vegetables and no grilled chicken.. also COLD.. I immediately called your establishment.. was met with a fairly rude employee and waited on the line till he hung up... My burrito was fatty......and I am not complaining due to poor service.. I have gone two times and had completely different experiences. The first time I had a larger guy wait on me and he was great. He worked quickly and tried to get the line through. He kept organized and made sure everyone got what they asked for. He did a great job and it was really busy. I went back tonight and there were two guys working. It was not even busy and it took me over 20 minutes to get my food. They were so slow and were taking peoples order out of order. The girl behind me in line ended up paying before me. They made my quesadilla way differently than the original man that I had. I was a bit confused when the cheese on my quesadilla was sliced American cheese, but it ended up being great. Food lacked salt and spices. I ordered the carnitas enchiladas with black beans (recommended by the guy behind the counter) and rice. I also got chips and queso and horchata. The pork inside the enchiladas was flavorless and the red chile sauce covering the enchiladas tasted like a reduced marinara rather than a sauce made with Mexican chilies. The ultra-light sprinkling of queso fresco was kind of a joke too. The rice was okay, again, kind of bland, but the beans were one of the bigger disappointments. They lacked salt and fat and spices... they tasted like I poured a can of black beans into a bowl and heated them up in my microwave. Price-wise, the enchilada meal was a fantastic deal. Which brings me to my next complaint: $3.50 for chips and queso when the chips are cold and greasy and the queso is 2 ounces in size. The queso was pretty good (could have been better), but the chips weren't that great and there were far more chips than there was queso. I ended up throwing away most of the chips. The horchata missed the mark too-- very thin and overly sweet. The thing is, you can tell this place makes the effort. The men behind the counter were pleasant and accommodating, the ambiance was nice... and maybe I just came on a really off night because this place has nothing but rave reviews.
