Easy parking out front. Fast and polite service. Delicious food. Highly recommend the 3 option entrée.

Happy Cinco! When it comes to the Mexican food scene in Anchorage, some specialize in food, while some specialize in margaritas/tequila only. That leaves us with a small handful of places that do both Mexican food and drinks decently. Panchos Villa executes both well, in my humble opinion. Panchos Villa does a great job at handling their lunch rush. Waitresses are always welcoming and efficient. Food is consistently cooked to order, hot and flavorful. This visit, we had a serious language barrier when trying to inquire about available brews on tap. Even brew that we were told by the bartender, was on tap, was still brought to us in bottle form. Other than that small hiccup, still recommend Panchos Villa.

Service was poor and inattentive. Food quality is bad. It's on the side of tex-mex done poorly but not as bad as prison food. Definitely not authentic. Strong cumin tastes in everything accompanied by dry rice and sad refried beans. If you want decent tacos, taquitos or chiles rellenos this is not place.

Love this place, I've never had a bad experience. Staff is friendly food is good and drinks are strong and plentiful. This is a good place for a quick bite, dinner date, or even a date! With good company and the friendly staff the old building and windowless atmosphere make the experience all that more authentic and enjoyable! Favorite place for Mexican food in the state for sure!

Came across this spot while walking back to my rental house. I wanted a michelada and decided to try it here. The restaurant is very clean with a friendly atmosphere. I sat at the bar and even tho the bartender was not available to make my michelada the lady that greeted us was super nice. I did try a spicy Michelada different that what am used to but will try it again and maybe with some food.

I had the fried halibut on the appetizer menu, it was great. My husband had a combo plate, he was dissatisfied. He likes his Colorado green chili on his Mexican food. Have not been able to find green chili in Alaska. Lol! Service was good. Rating based on my husbands disappointment.

I was born and raised on the south side and had never heard of this place. I recently came back home to visit from moving away 6 years ago and decided to check Yelp because my old favorite, La Mex had closed and I wasn't craving the capitalized Gallos/Taco King (even though they are very delicious too) This place popped up and we went last night! SOOOOO GOOD. Not sure why more people don't talk about this place although they might be and I just don't live here or hang on this side of town much. However, it's definitely worth the trip! Anchorage people if you haven't tried this place, run don't walk! Great atmosphere, great chips and salsa, great margaritas, great service, and most importantly incredible food!

The room has a high-energy, lively vibe without ever feeling overwhelmingly loud, and you can tell why the chef earned a James Beard nomination. You definitely need a reservation; they have a few walk-in spots, but they go very fast, so you will want to get there right when doors open if you do not have one booked. The beverage menu is very well done, with great cocktails and thoughtful mocktails that felt just as crafted. For food, our starters set a high bar; the pork buns, pickles, and octopus were all flavorful and well prepared. The ramen itself was delicious and hits the spot in the Alaska weather, with deep, tasty broths and bold flavors throughout. The Dark Horse was especially good. We did not have room left for dessert, but the savory side of the menu more than delivered.

Wow Anchorage, what a great spot you have in Whisky and Ramen. My husband and I went on a Saturday…read more They state on their website they do seat equal parts walk ins and reservations so we gave it a go even though we didn't have reservations. We came a little after opening at 5:15 and were seated at a table immediately. Larger groups may have trouble without a reservation. Everything was phenomenal. My husband had a couple cocktails and I had a couple NA cocktails. I was really impressed with the NA cocktails -- they were complex in flavor and not overly sweet. Husband was also impressed with his drinks. For appetizers we got the pickles, pork buns and takoyaki. In my opinion the pork buns are the way to go. I also enjoyed the pickles and there were a good garnish with other dishes. For ramens we got the dark horse and Tokyo rich tsukemen. Wow wow wow, they were simply excellent. The broths had so much flavor. The tsukemen was a fun dish with having to assemble it yourself and dip food into the broth. Pork belly serving was very generous. Some of the best ramen I have ever had. If you are in anchorage you need to eat here!
