The food doesn't taste like authentic Chinese food(trust me, Im Chinese), and I would say it is too expensive for its quality of food. What bothers me is their service, they add tips without telling people, and their attitude was bad and rude. They will indirectly kick you out if you stay too long by taking your unfinished food away or stop giving you refills. But since there are only a few Chinese restaurant in town, I would give a mercy 2 star. It's just sad to see how stingy they are. read more

I came here because I saw photos of their hot pot dishes and wanted to give it a try since it had a decent rating on Yelp. So needless to say, I was pretty excited to check this place out since I'm new to the area. I'm from California and have been to many Asian/Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles/Orange County. I have to say the service was pretty bad, even for a Chinese restaurant. The place was not busy and the employees had an attitude when asking for menus/condiments. I ordered the sichuan spicy oil hot pot(no chili oil) and my wife ordered a seafood fire pot. What I received should not be labeled as hot pot, since it was just precooked vegetables/seafood/meat/tofu in a greasy/oily soup. And to top it all off, my wife had food poisoning that night. I tried this place for the first time yesterday evening. I was very taken by the vast selection of menu items. They have everything from chicken feet and pork ears to Peking Duck. I tried two items. First was the Pork Belly Hot Pot. I was sweating freakn' bullets of anticipation waiting for this to come out. It comes out, its container swaying back and forth in the hand of the waiter as if floating through a astral pig slaughter house of gastronomical joy. Gently, wantingly it comes to rest in front of me. Can I possibly ingest this wonderful pork angel? I take a piece of the pork with my chopsticks, which now have become a extension of myself, and place it in my mouth. Uh, what happened to the pork flavor? It taste like whatever bottle this brown sauce came out of. Damn, all of that buildup for the bitter pill of mediocrity. Should have had more pork flavor. I couldn't even taste pork except in a few bites. The garlic pieces were barely cooked and tasted bitter and the texture of the garllic was unquestionably raw. Could have been a fabulous dish. Next itme I'll try the roasted pork thats not bastardized with sauce. Saving grace was the Sweet Sichuan Noodles. They appeared to be hand made due to the difference and size/shape within the dish. The noodles were just sweet enough to blend fabulously with hot sauce that it was neatly bathed in. It is sold as a appetizer but stands up well on its own. The serving size of both dishes was large eough for two people. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. I noticed only one other American couple in the place. All of the others were Asian which leads me to believe that they are doing it right so I'll definately be back for seconds. read more

Left after the appetizers because all waiters decided to gather together and have dinner right in front of our table where we were left alone without service. Appetizers arrived missing an item and we thought it was going to bother them - interrupt their dinner - if we were to ask for them again. Restaurant closes at 10PM and I arrived 8:50 and left around 9:15PM. Finished our Chinese dinner at PF Chang's. Will never be back despite friends recommendations saying it's the best Chinese in town. Service needs to be at least acceptable as well. read more

Nice enough place, but a little on the pricey side for basic Chinese. The most important part - the food - was a huge let-down. Not a fan at all of the sesame chicken or chicken fried rice. The meat was a weird texture, the sauces were off, and the egg rolls basically nothing but pepper. read more

I have been here 5 times, the food is the most authentic Chinese cuisine you will find in the state of Kentucky. The service is spotty, sometimes it is great and other times it is super slow. The restaurant is clean, tho the bathrooms were kinda nasty. However, I am willing to look beyond the restrooms for the quality of the food. I look forward to going back sometime. We recently moved to Lexington from the Boston MA area. We had several good restaurants there. So far, we haven't found anything we like in the Lexington area. So based in the reviews, we gave Panda Cuisine a shot. We were almost the only non-Asian people in the restaurant. The specials board on the way in is written in Mandarin. Almost all of the customers were speaking Mandarin or Cantonese. That was a very good sign. The menu has LOTS of items that most average folks might not recognize. I've had many of the items when I lived back in Boston. I'm looking forward to trying them again. The description here on Yelp said that the restaurant had a full bar. That is incorrect. No "mixed drinks". Beer and wine only. My wife ordered a "Chardonnay" but what they brought was clearly NOT a Chardonnay. It was very sweet. I ended up drinking it. We started with some pan fried dumplings. Very nice. You can tell that they are made in-house. I had the hot-n-sour soup. It was a little more vinegar-y than what I was used to but it was very nice. The stuff in the soup was cut a little too small for my tastes. Everything was shredded VERY fine. Since this was our first visit, started with some simple sweet-n-sour pork and General Tso's chicken. The s&s pork was nice. The sauce on the top was not the bright red yucky stuff you see in other places. This one was very delicate. The chicken was nice but it wasn't spicy enough for me. I suspect I'll have to ask for spicy next time. Also, a few more pieces of broccoli would have been nice. The prices are very reasonable. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and will return. Plus, it is right next door to the new Trader Joe's store so you can shop and eat on the same trip. read more

My absolute favourite restaurant! The food is delicious. The tables and dinnerware are always clean. Staff are reserved, but professional. Exceptional place for business lunches. They have tables accommodating for large parties. VEGAN FRIENDLY. Now, on to the food... I will be the first to say that I hate Chinese food. I am not very cultured at all, but my god have they turned me. It's my go to now. It can be pricey, of course I'm a student so spending more than $5 on a meal is hard to justify. I have heard this is the most authentic Chinese food in all of Lexington, so there is that. I am vegan and I have never had an issue finding things to eat here. I recommend the Kung Pao Tofu, white rice and I always make sure to get an order of the (bean curd) Sesame (seed) balls. My god. They are to die for. They're sweet. Like a donut. I know they may sound gross, but they're awesome. Portions are great as well. You can't order a lunch portion for the Kung Pao Tofu, no idea why. Went here the other day, and its probably some of the most authentic Chinese food in Kentucky. Each other the dishes grows on you and makes you want more. After ordering, I realized that each dish is enough to serve two people, so the price tag isn't as much as you imagine when looking at the menu. We had the red hot wonton soup to start- delicious, garlicky, spicy but not painful, with a bit of a vinegar taste. The veggie egg roll was tasty but greasy, it had split open while cooking. We ordered steamed buns, but they never got delivered to the table, though they appeared on our bill. We were told they take 50 minutes to steam AFTER we had finished the rest of our food. The mongolian beef was not good. The beef tasted spoiled. The chestnut chicken was very bland. Panda cuisine defintely gets the "meh." We won't be going back. read more

You would never guess this place is a cut above your average Chinese buffet, but it's pretty darn good. The original chef is back, from what I gather, and they do have a pretty nice authentic menu and dim sum options. I wanted to try the roasted pork belly, but the waitress scared me away from it. I've eaten fried belly before and was an instant fan. But she described it as fatty and chewey. So I demured and ordered the Pork with Pot herbs. (No, not that kind of pot. But if it was ... it sure tasted good sauteed with pork cucumber and spices.) the prtion was big enough to take half home. my brother got a fried peppered pork dish that was very good, but could have used some vegetables to break up the large quantity of meat on the plate. My sister got some "lions head" Large meatballs with veggies. neat concept but plain taste. My mom got a spicy tofu dish that had a good spice level for me but was almost too hot for her. we all shared some pork fried wontons and a soup that were good. apparently this place has a weekend lunch buffet and I would love to come here for that. Big menu, good vegetarian offerings. The spicy garlic eggplant is always excellent. If you worship garlic or need to ward of vampires try garlic green beans - they are very, very garlicky. For me panda is only a four star because service can be a bit slow. read more

Great food! Drove past it and decided to give it a shot. Considering the size of Lexington, this place is definitely pretty decent. HOWEVER, if you do the buffet, please leave at least 10% tip. My husband and I love panda cuisine! The Sunday buffet and dim sum is pretty fantastic. If you're going to go, go on a Sunday. They have a fantastic and unique selection of Chinese dishes that you won't find anywhere else in Lexington. My husband has traveled a lot and is open to trying anything, but I'm a lot more picky. Great authentic Szechuan cuisine! Came here for dinner for my uncle's big XX birthday. The spicy dishes definitely have a kick to them.
