Another big family dinner and the grandkids again requested Panda. We ordered on line - about $90 for some of their favorites a la carte. We got an email telling us the order was ready so I went over to pick it up. When I got there maybe 10 minutes after the email, they they told me I had already picked it up. REALLY??? I had to show them the email they sent me to prove that it was my order and that I had not been there earlier. The person in charge told me they would get a new order ready in 5 minutes. About 15 minutes of standing around and they had the order ready for me. It was pretty close to being right (at least one of the items was an unidentifiable dish that we did not order). The grandkids loved the food and didn't mind waiting a bit for the meal, so I guess it was a no harm no foul. Do not drive here after 9. Although it says on maps that they close at 10, they actually close at 9 sadly. They definitely need to fix that as I wasted a ton of gas driving here from the other side of the valley to get here before they closed. The broccoli beef and orange chicken is generally old and soggy. The rest of the menu items were sitting out for hours and dried up. Now get this - they have new menu item drinks. They filled the ice all the way to the top of the cup and we asked for them to put less ice, and they said less ice costs one extra dollar. . As I relaxed outside the unnatural cool breeze created a gently refreshing break in the normally insufferable Tarzana summer heat. I was lucky enough in choosing the patio as a place to enjoy my heaping plate of freshly cooked and rapidly served Panda Express favorites. As it's tucked in the middle of a casually upscale shopping district. As fantastic as the food and service was. This is not the reason I am compelled to sit at a bus bench on the way back to my car I parked up the block to write about my experience while it's still fresh I'm my mind. I just had the most uplifting experience. I really hope this gets noticed because It made me want to be a better person and I'm not exaggerating. I quietly observed the serious and absolute care in which a young manager of this location took the time and effort of an Eldest sister to test, teach and encourage one of her staff it was clearly her offering community effort it was I could only guess was an important event, If I didn't know better I would seriously guessed it was a younger sister. The Sharp pressed manager did not break the seriousness of her very intentional process as she carried out her mentorship. The young manager showed me the undeniable leadership quality she possessed beyond her years. And here I thought It was going to be a typical eat and run afternoon. Until today, our experience with Panda Express, at any level, has always been nothing but exemplary. We are only accustomed to respect and integrity from Panda personnel, so this evening's experience was quite shocking. Please allow me to explain. My family and I went to the Encino store (#3272) for dinner and ordered 4 items, 3 plates and 1 bowl. It was not until we got home and opened the food that we noticed there was a problem. My youngest son had an allergy to egg, therefore, I ordered him a bowl with white rice and teriyaki chicken. When we opened the food at home we discovered they had given us fried rice instead of white rice. Due to my son's extreme food allergy we returned to the store to replace the item, here's where the problem began. When I arrived at the store, I met with Nicole. To begin with, Nicole has an extremely hostile attitude towards customers and acts as if she is bothered by filling orders. As I approached the counter, Nicole immediately tells me "I know you, you have replaced food before." Well yes, on two other occasions I have returned/replaced food because the order was wrong. I explained the problem to Nicole and indicated I needed the bowl replaced, and also requested my plate be remade as it was now at home getting cold because I had to return to get the correct food. Nicole impolitely told me, "we are not replacing the plate because it was made correctly, and it is not our fault you had to return to the store." Umm excuse me, it is your fault because fried rice was placed in the bowl when we always request white rice. I asked to speak to the manager, at this time Nicole disappeared behind the corner to speak with Raphael. It is important to note that the area in which they were speaking is just next to where I was standing and I could hear their entire conversation. After their very inappropriate discussion, Raphael emerges from around the corner, and with hostility asks me "what's the problem?" I explained to Raphael the entire problem, with my request to also replace my plate as it was home getting cold while I'm back here replacing my son's food. Raphael's response was equally as shocking as Nicole's attitude. Raphael stated: "There's nothing I'm willing to do for you, we did not cause you to return to the store." It is also important to note that Raphael did not have a name tag on, so at this point I asked him for his name, to which he responded "my name is Raphael and I do not care if you contact corporate." My total order consisted of 4 items, I was only requesting two to be replaced, and for overwhelmingly obvious reasons. There was a lot wrong with this experience, a lot. If I was to explain everything this would end up as a 10 page essay. Rather than doing that, I'd like a district or regional level manager to contact me. The level of disrespect I've witnessed at this location to customers is dreadful, and based on recent Yelp reviews, it is getting worse. When this location opened, the managers who were in position, Hector & Stephanie, were absolutely amazing. Those two managers were focused on customer service and understood how to treat people. At the end of the day, Panda Express is a service oriented business. It's shameful that with all the hard work and dedication of all the Panda team members put forward on a daily basis, these two (Nicole and Raphael) can ruin and tarnish that reputation. More specifically, we live in Encino, less than 5 minutes from the Encino store. After tonight's experience I'd rather drive 30 minutes to the next location before I step foot in the Encino store with Nicole and Raphael there. read more

Generally Panda Express is hit or miss but this location is the best I've ever had. They'll make anything you want fresh and their staff doesn't groan about it. They seem very busy and their turnover on food is very fast and that makes the food legit fresh. Definitely the Panda Express you want to go visit. read more

I love how this panda always has fresh made food out every time I'm there ordering & customer service is great, but unfortunately I had to deal with lipstick stains on my ala carte chow mein box twice now . The first time was about a month ago when my coworker went to go pick up my food, at opening the box we noticed stains on the inside of the box. Kinda grossed me out only because the manager/supervisor there is always wearing that color lipstick so I knew where that stain came from. I made a review about it on the survey online just so they can be aware. Now today my coworker went to go pick up food from here again & he even jokingly commented about the lipstick stains, and guess what ? There it was again . It just makes you think if they are picking the food and not cleaning their hands properly. Panda Express 02/08/2020 Saturday I was in the mood for Chinese food I search around and found this place recently open in the plaza next to where I work. It was a short walking distance. Upon arrival it was relatively packed with customers eating in. But there was no line for ordering my food. I haven't eat at a Panda Express for over a few years now. I got the 3 items plate. Chow main; kung pao chicken, beef with broccoli, and string bean with breast chicken. My order came out to be $10.73, I gave them $11 and one of the worker ask if I wanted to donated the rest of the change so I went with it since I didn't want to carry so much change on me. The place is very clean and organized. The employees are very helpful and nice, they even offer sample if I needed. After I walked back I did enjoyed my lunch. I love their chow main, it was not greasy like other Chinese restaurant. I'm very happy that they open Panda Express near me and I will be back again for my next future lunch. read more

Had an absolutely horrible meal from this Panda Express last night. Went in to pickup and they are following good COVID safe practices but the food was a simple order and virtually not edible. Something simple too so I was very disappointed. Fried shrimp seemed like overcooked leftovers, tough chewy and no flavor at all. Placed on top of fried rice that tasted so dry it should have been tossed out yesterday. Been to many Panda Express in the past but don't see ever going to this location again. I just hope it is not a reflection of the entire chain, but it does make me want to reevaluate my future choices. read more

During the shutdown, this Panda has a VERY organized and contact-free pickup system: Orders are arranged alphabetically and waiting on a table with the receipt attached. Match order name/number and you're out. Very fast and efficient and clever during this shutdown. Food is still excellent, too. Online ordering if fast and easy. I was particularly blown away by Ara's patience when dealing with the absolutely irritating and indecisive customer in front of me. Ara kept her cool and could not have been more professional, kind and patient. Having worked in a restaurant, I know how frustrating it can be to deal with complete clowns.
