My family does not eat beef due to our religious beliefs, and because the items were packed together, the meal was no longer acceptable for us. Instead of enjoying one of the biggest nights in U.S. soccer history, I had to drive another 30 minutes back to the restaurant. An employee immediately recognized the mistake and called the manager, **Jacob**. Unfortunately, that's where the experience became much worse. Rather than starting with a simple apology, Jacob kept me waiting and then said he needed to "understand the problem." He proceeded to argue about whether my order was a one-plate or two-plate meal, even though the restaurant had clearly made the mistake. Whether it was one plate or two was irrelevant--the issue was that my order was incorrect. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of accountability or empathy. Not once did Jacob apologize for the inconvenience or acknowledge that I had already wasted over an hour driving back and forth because of the restaurant's error. When I finally said that I wouldn't be returning because of how I was being treated, Jacob responded by questioning why he should refund me if I wasn't coming back. That response perfectly summed up the customer service I experienced. Mistakes happen. What defines a business is how those mistakes are handled. A manager's arrogance and unwillingness to take responsibility can be far more damaging to a restaurant chain than an occasional order mistake. Food can be replaced; lost trust is much harder to earn back. After nearly a decade of being a loyal customer, this single interaction completely changed my opinion of this location. I sincerely hope Panda Express leadership addresses this because customer loyalty is built on respect, accountability, and professionalism--not arguments with customers. The only bright spot that evening was that the U.S. Men's National Team won and advanced to the World Cup Round of 16. I have stopped here many times in the past to get the family meal deal which is a really good value. It's an easy location to find right next to a Starbucks in the shopping plaza . When I stopped, there was a small line of people ordering their food, which goes fairly quickly. The food is always prepared fresh and well presented within their cases. . The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and willing to answer any questions you may have on any of the selections you are considering . Inside has always been very clean when we have stopped, and there is plenty of seating for those that want to dine in . I have gone too many panda express establishment but this one off of Buckeystown Pike has a server by the name of Gabriella that was very rude. She took customers that came after us and I have never been to a panda where they don't allow you to sample something you might potentially want to purchase. I have always sampled new items from panda before I buy..... so disappointed I will never be returning back to this one... some people should not represent Customer Service when that's the last thing they want to do.... My sister ordered panda express for my younger siblings and they had found a worm in their food from what it looks like I think its a millipede. It was so disgusting no one wanted to eat any more of the food so I went back to go get my money back. The manager was very unprofessional yelling across the store and did not apologize once about it. He had the audacity to ask me "are you sure the worm was actually already in the food" like why would I want to come back here after already picking up the food for my younger siblings to eat. He finally gave the refund but the way he did it was not professional customer service at all he gave me an attitude for no reason I just wanted my money back since we didn't eat the rest of the food as soon as we saw that we went back. Do not order food from here ahead of time for pick up or delivery. Apparently you can order an hour ahead and when you get there your food still is not ready. But if you walk in you will save your self allot of time and have your food with in 2 minutes. They care more about the people walking in then the people who pay for their food way ahead of time. I do deliveries and it's the same every time. This is the ONLY place that does things like this. When robots replace them at least there's a good reason. read more

I went to the Panda Express in Frederick, Maryland and the female cashier or store manager was rude and dismissive. My order was incorrect instead of helping me, she got an attitude and went to get who I believe was her manager. Her manager was very polite and helpful. She heard my issue and quickly gave me the correct food, I appreciated that. The advice I would give this store is to hire people with better customer service skills. Panda Express is the best Chinese place in Maryland. The orange chicken is the best part because, there is not orange slices in it compared to other Chinese places. I always get the "Bigger Plate" I always get the Chow Mein, with double orange chicken and Honey Walnut shrimp. It is the BEST. The service is always fast. If they are out of a dish they would replace it right away. The business is always clean. Also the bathrooms are massive and very clean. They don't mess around with a dirty Restaurant. But the only bad thing is the parking because, a Starbucks is next to it so during the Starbucks rush the parking lot is busy. But when the Rush goes down the parking lot has enough room. I don't have one by me in Hagerstown, but I work in Frederick so I wanted to try it their food. My kids love it and said I need to try it. I went there, super busy Friday night so I downloaded the app placed my order and it was done on time, it was placed on a rack in the back, so easy to find and go. The food smelled amazing! I was on the way home and wanted to pick up a quick dinner for two. I came in, ordered two plates (1 plate has 2 entrees + side). I ordered Honey Walnut shrimp and Beef & Broccoli. Karla, the server, put 6 small pieces of shrimp. I thought it was very little as to what others would normally serve but I did not say anything. When it came to the beef and broccoli, she put broccoli with 3 tiny pieces of beef...ridiculous!!! I asked her for more beef and USING THE SERVING SPOON, she DUG at the box with entree to try to show me that there was beef. (She did not show me, rather messed up the entree & HOW SANITARY IS THAT???). She then took out a weighing scale to weigh the food, but did not weigh it, and then said she would charge me extra. I was frustrated and grossed out, I just wanted to get out of there. I paid the cashier, got in the car, took a fork out, dissected the food to inspect 3 pieces of beef (like I was trying to tell her!). I went back in and the cashier spoke to me, added beef, and took my plate outside to explain that they have been given strict instructions about portions and hoped the added beef would suffice as an apology for a bad experience. He did not hear the part where she PUT THE SERVING SPOON in my plate as she moved food around with it. OK, here it goes. I've lived in Frederick for 12 years and have probably eaten here 30-40 times. I've never had a bad dish and have never experienced slow service. The people who work there are very attentive and friendly. They offer samples if you are considering an item. All of the chicken and beef dishes have been fine. I mean this place put Orange Chicken on our national hit parade, didn't it? Even the few vegetable dishes tasted good. I'm mainly writing this because of the few reviews that make it sound like this place has problems. They don't. I can't imagine that anybody really got sick because they ate here. And slow service? I mean you walk through a line, point at what you want and they put it on a plate, right in front of you. How slow could that be? I've never waited more than a couple of minutes, tops. Panda Express is great for what it is, and what it claims to be. Fast food, Chinese style, that is tasty and spicy and well worth the price. The server behind the counter was courteous and accommodating. The cashier was friendly too. The restrooms are clean and so is the main seating area. I very seldom write reviews, but I find it necessary to warn the world about how disappointing this location has become. I used to work in Frederick and would eat there on a regular basis with my coworkers. I no longer work in Frederick but when I travel there I look forward to stopping by and picking up meals to bring home to my family. The last three times that I was there, I was disappointed. The first two times, they had no chicken at all. I was happy to see that the last time I was there, they had chicken, so I picked up three double orders of teriyaki chicken to bring home for my family. All three meals were bad with fatty and grisly chicken. It is possible that they had to change chicken suppliers because they had trouble getting chicken, but this was pretty bad. I contacted Panda Express with my concerns and was sent a computer generated emailing stating they received my complaint. I have since replied to them seven times now just looking for a response to my complaint but nobody will respond. That is terrible customer service. When there is a complaint, the company receiving the complaint has the opportunity to reach out and fix the problem and retain a customer and also create a true fan by acknowledging the problem. I've been here on many occasions and never had any complains. This time around was just the same. Usually there is a line around lunch time and today was no different. The staff moves people through the line very quickly so you may wait 5-8 minutes tops to the cashier. Today, I ordered the pork dish and orange chicken with the fried rice. All dishes were very good and the pork was just freshly made. Spent only $7.50 on a lunch meal that will hold any person over until dinner time. They told about 30 people- that were in line at 8:55-9:20 that they refused to make any fresh food (they were out of rice, pasta, vegetables) and started chopping meat in half and refused to make any fresh ingredients for the 30 people waiting in line from 8:55-9:20- a good 10-35 minutes before they closed. Telling everyone to only accept what they had left and pay full price for no actual food and chopped up leftover meat. If i could give this 0 stars, I would. Panda Express has always been my guilty pleasure. It's one of the few American Chinese food that I won't broadcast outloud I like them, but it definitely serves a positive purpose once every few months. This Frederick location though seems to be in turmoil. I had placed two online orders within two weeks, and each time there was some sort of an issue. Both times they were not ready for pickup so what's the point of online ordering (and fully paid) if I still have to wait with the walk-ins? There's also that Panda un-Express pet peeve of running out of essential food items. How do you not cook lo mein or teriyaki chicken when they are nearly empty? There were at least 5-6 people waiting with me each time I went, so inefficiency is very obvious. A quick 5 min trip turns into a 15 min time waster. The silver lining is that the employees seem to be trying very hard to please customers. But whether it's inexperience or a lack of execution, the Frederick location is a model of what NOT to do. And the crazy part is it's fixable, because several locations in Montgomery county and DC don't have this issue. read more
