I really get overly disappointed with Panda Express in general. As it turns out this location is no different. In all fairness to the person working the window, she was very nice and I would almost give an additional star for her service. But, not trying to mean, I'm not really looking for a friend, I'm looking for a quality fast food meal. The stuff, as pictured on the menu, looks so good! The problem is the execution. I was here about 3:00 on a Saturday, not the only person in the drive through, so they were still busy. I ordered the Beijing Beef Bowl. The order actually didn't look that bad when I opened it up. It actually didn't smell too bad either. The problem is that the Beijing beef had probably been sitting under a warming light for the better part of two hours. At this time it had the shape of normal Beijing beef, but the consistency was more that of leather....I really couldn't tell you what the meat product was .... but it certainly didn't taste anything like any beef I had ever had. Everything else was mediocre at best...really disappointed in what they are willing to put out as a meal. I think I'm going to be fixed of going to Panda Express for a really, really long time after this one. I'd rather spend $10 somewhere else (that doesn't include a drink). This place is an absolute JOKE!!!!!!! Out of fried rice, out of grilled chicken, out of string bean chicken, out of steak!!! Said it would be at least an hour before food was ready. I've been to ALOT of Panda Express and this one is by FAR the worst I've ever been to. The owners and management should be ashamed to even have the doors open. I'm really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt. It has become harder to do that. Today's lunch has become the normal here. Orange chicken was not crispy, meaning it wasn't fresh. It didn't taste fresh either. It was spongy and had waaaay too much garlic on it! The noodles, as they always are, were far greasier than they needed to be. And as I have noted before, this place stays filthy. From food not wiped off the sticky tables to trash on the floor it's harder and harder to justify spending money here. Also, why are little kids and anyone who wants to, allowed to fumble their fingers over opened loose plastic forks? How much would it really cost Panda Express to provide individually wrapped forks? Horrible. My wife loves these, so we usually hit them from time to time. This place is the worst Panda Express I've ever been too. It had all the reasons why I hate fast food. First, they had brown rice listed on the menu only to discover they were out. When I inquired a second time around (after I gave up on ordering altogether the first time), I was told they were "waiting on a truck." Second, the food was less than room temperature on my plate, our sons, and my wife's. Third, of all the things ~ they allowed a lady in carrying her dog. My only real experience with Panda Express before this company rolled into town was at the one in Six Flags over Georgia. There, prices are of amusement park rates, the selection of food is small, and the overall space of the restaurant is tiny. The one here in Gadsden, however, is immaculate. Plenty of seating, including a relaxed, coffee shop-esque area with outlets for charging electronics. They also provide outdoor dining, a drive through, and a tea bar. The food is excellent, and often fresh off of the grill. The cooks are comical, sometimes mimicking samurai and Chinese warlords and using Asian accents when addressing the needs of the servers. The servers are very friendly, often offering samples of any entree you'd like before you choose. On my most recent visit, I got the new chili shrimp, orange chicken, and kung pao chicken. The kung pao bowl was empty at the time of ordering, and the woman loading my plate said she would bring it out as soon as it was done. Not only did she deliver it steaming fresh, but she also gave me a size up of the order for my wait! Then, while eating, a girl came around giving out free samples of their raspberry tea, which was delicious. I have also tried their oolong tea with tapioca pearls before, and its quite an interesting drink. The kitchen is open, with views of the grill and the cold storage. They keep everything in their cold storage in sealed cambros and everything looks quite orderly. The bathrooms are very clean with a modern style look to them. Overall, very pleased with the food and service here. It has quickly become my mother and I's favorite place for asian food in Gadsden. read more

While traveling through, we placed an order in April for delivery online. 10-15 minutes later we got a call telling us they were canceling our order because they decided to close early (7pm). Also told us we'd have to cancel the order with grub hub. We didn't place our order through them, and there was and is no record of our order. To show that I'm consistent at least, we went back again against my better judgment to test out their tea bar since the huge signs are still there. I was told that the tea bar would not be up and running for at least 6-8 more weeks since they were short staffed- unbeknownst to them, I've been trying to order from their tea bar for literal Y E A R S now. I came to Panda Express in hope to try bubble tea from their tea bar which they advertise on the side of their building pretty openly. However going through the drive through they claim they no longer have their tea bar. And when I asked nicely once more if that meant they had no tea at all the drive through worker gave a bratty and rude response. If you no longer have tea bar it would be nice to advertise that before a customer pulls up in hopes of wanting tea. read more

I LOVE Panda Express. Their food is flavorful and fresh. When I visited to grab a to-go meal, they were currently cooking more fresh fried rice and noodles. When the food is fresh it's usually very tasty but 50% of the time it's been sitting for too long and it's dry. Very Bland. The store was out of over half of the menu items with more than a hour and a half until closing. The fried rice was basically white rice with peas and a beef dish that was purchased had been on the heat table so long the food had caramelized and hardened but still was sold. Definitely would give this place less stars if possible. Have tried this place multiple times because I like their tea bar. The problem is they usually are out of something or tea bar is closed. This has went on for 2 years now. And most of the staff is rude. Not all of them but most of them. But when you call over 2 hours ahead to confirm they have honey boba / tapioca pearls in stock and cooked before driving over 30 minutes to get 2 tea drinks and then they don't have it. This is after waiting 20 minutes there for the guy to make them. My suggestion if you have a Tea bar make everything every day. It is possible. Maybe contact Thirsty Tea off of 280 in Birmingham and ask them how they accomplish this task everyday. I assure you if we didn't need to go to Gadsden I would have went there. My family and I were so excited when Panda Express opened in our area. We love both the variety of food choices as most of our family is on a strict diet as well as the taste. Our first few visits were outstanding. The food was delicious and plentiful and the staff was very courteous, quick, and helpful. We have dined at this location at least once a month since it opened over a year ago. Sometimes even one to two times a week. However, the last 4 months or so have been nothing less than appalling, to the point that we swear we will never return. When we walk in to order, there are no less than 3 empty bowls which means a long wait time because it is always the food we wish to order. The staff has become quite proficient at giving the "eye roll" when you order something that they are out of. At three different visits, the trash cans are all overflowing to the point you have to step over it when you enter or leave the building and you can usually look over and see at least one employee eating their dinner and another 2-3 just standing there talking. At one visit about a month ago, I went to use the restroom and there was no toilet tissue. I went and stood at the counter to request some and for 7 minutes I stood waiting to catch the attention of the 4 people that walked past (one of them standing at the register a few feet from me and another that was sitting and eating their dinner a few feet behind me) and not one of them even acknowledged that I was standing there obviously in need of something while my food was getting cold so I went and ate my food in misery. We decided to stop dining in and try the drive thru much to no avail. Last night we ordered take out for 7 people and were told to park at the front of the building and while some of our food items were cooked (which we were told would take 7-9 minutes) which we expected to do since we were ordering a large order. 20 minutes later we thought we might want to check on it so my husband went in. There were no customers in the dining room or the drive through. When he went in, there were several employees standing in a group talking and laughing and when they saw him the jumped into action. Apparently they had cooked the food we had ordered but had not made the first plate so he had to stand there and wait for them to make 7 plates after already waiting for 20 minutes. This location clearly has a management problem and could probably benefit from a visit from the health department. It's really sad because it was once a great place to eat but not for my family.
