I've been here off and on over the years. It's not my favorite but my wife loves it. I enjoyed the dishes I ordered except for the chow mein that had a weird aftertaste. The service was good but for me I have to pass.

went to panda express to claim the chinese new year coupons they had on the app! my god was it such a generous portion of food to last me nearly a week! service was really good- and ambiance is a walk through line cafeteria style and to go!

There's something about chow mein from Panda Express that always makes me crave it! I went to the Pinole location recently to grab some food before the dinner rush. Around 5pm there were only 3 parties in line, but a few minutes later, the line was out the door. The staff juggle the in-person orders as well as the online orders/ door dash orders, etc. so they're very busy at this time. The woman taking my order was extremely nice though and kept apologizing for the wait. She was so sweet. I noticed a sign at the beginning of the line that said there may be some food shortages, though at least when I was here, there weren't any empty pots. What caught my eye is the Panda Club meal, which is their version of a kids meal, and it had Disney's Turning Red characters on the board, but the kids meal does not come with a toy. The egg plant tofu and chow mein never disappoints, but I was actually surprised that the a la carte boxes were so much smaller than I remembered. I ordered a large sized chow mein, and I thought I was given a medium sized by accident. But no, the large sized box is just that small. On your receipt, you can also go on their website to answer a quick survey and you'll get a code for a free entree with your next 2-entree box purchase.

Teriyaki Chicken did not fill box like they advertised. See their photo.

I have not eaten at Panda Express in over 4 years since I left a negative review on Yelp for their continued stinginess of their portions (see review attached). Since it has been over 4 years, I though I would give them another chance hoping things have changed. I ordered a family meal for the first time. Panda Express certainly did not disappoint my expectations. They are as stingy as ever with their portions. Look at the picture Panda uses to advertise their family meal compared to what I was given. Panda Express pictures are misleading and grossly exaggerated. I thought false advertising is illegal. Cost + Portion = Value and Panda Express failed miserably. The Pinole location is by far the worse location we've been to. There's a reason why they are rated 2.7 out of 5 on Yelp.

I just think about you walk in to order plan on waiting along time. Call in orders take a priority. This place is very disorganized the weight is completely unexpected. One day you get great fast service the next day it's the worst service in town. That's really unfortunate because the food is really good here. Call in orders to take a priority and you wait in line behind them and they run out of food because of the big call and orders

This is a really good sit-down Chinese restaurant that's reminiscent of the ones my family would…read morereserve for big milestones such as wedding receptions, baptisms, and birthdays. I love that the restaurant is spacious and that there's an essence of coziness to the space. The service here is decent -- there have been multiple times where my party has had to ask for things because food or drinks were coming out too slow or were forgotten. There's definitely room for improvement in that arena. Food is delicious here, and I particularly love the sweet and sour pork! House fried rice and beef broccoli here is also amazing. Although I've had better honey walnut prawns, the ones here are still good (just pricey considering I prefer other places over it). Portion sizes are huge, even for sharing among 3-4 people. I recommend eating here with a fairly large group - you get your best deal when sharing the cost (and eating) together.

If you're in the mood for basic, good Chinese food, this is the spot. Especially good is the sizzling rice soup... if you eat it there, the rice has a very nice sizzle. You lose a bit when doing take out but the soup is still very tasty. Also the clay pot rock cod and the string beans are very good. They now have an online ordering system which is fantastic!!! If you're in the mood for Chinese, you can't go wrong here!

I think the "3-star" Yelp average is correct for this place…read more On a Saturday evening, I drove up to Pinole just to try the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup at China House. It was near 5pm, and the dining room was empty. They said most of the orders were for takeout and delivery. So I was seated right away, and they offered me hot tea. So I ordered the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup, and also "Salt 'n Pepper Prawns" as listed under House Specialties on their menu. For $15.95, it's a huge bowl of soup. It could be enough for 2-3 people. Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup is fried won ton in thicken egg drop soup. I added pepper and a splash of soy sauce, and it was perfect. Grade (4/5). However, the Salt 'n Pepper Prawns were not perfect. They were served deep fried, with jalapeño pepper slices. I asked for "in-shell." So they were deep fried with the shell still on. That usually means they'll have more flavor. These prawns were mushy and had a slightly fishy aftertaste. This suggests that they were frozen and not fresh. China House didn't season them enough to mask the off-taste. Other restaurants add a coarse salt and maybe a dipping sauce. The batter coating tasted fine, but the prawn itself wasn't good. Grade (2/5). Service was prompt and attentive. Restroom- 1 Women's restroom, and 1 All Gender. China House has a big screen TV, and they were showing a basketball game ( NY vs Houston). Free off-street parking lot

Not bad for a quick Chinese food fix reasonably priced. Location has ample parking and has a loyal…read morefrequent diners. Hot and Sour Soup is a good starter, but I prefer a bit more heat. The fried appetizer sampler is something I would skip. The BBQ Pork Chow Fun was full of flavor and the Salty Fish Fried Rice was fragrant. The clay pot was a miss. I was hoping they would actually cook the food in the clay pot for that taste, but it appears the food was cooked and served in a clay pot. The Iron Platter was just what you expect, burning hot served.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! It's a husband-and-wife team!

The people here are exceedingly nice but the food is not. For example, I had their chicken noodle…read moresoup yesterday for lunch. It had basically two tablespoons of chicken that looked boiled. The soup tasted like water which made me add too much chili paste. The noodles were nothing to write home about though homemade. There were not a lot of noodles and mostly a lot of water for 15 dollars. I think the soup was supposed to come with crunchy garlic but it did not come with anything but a little bit of cilantro. All in all, just a very sad dish for $15 which I could have made at home with nothing but boiled water and noodles from the supermarket. My husband had their massaman Curry beef. They were training someone to cook in the kitchen and this curry came out with the texture and flavor of water. They were very kind to refund us for the curry as it was completely tasteless. One of the kitchen staff tasted the curry themselves and said that it had no flavor and apologized profusely. The restaurant itself though clean has a strong unpleasant smell.

The owner was there when we entered, and we were able to chat about Thailand and the Lao culture. So friendly and welcoming! Service was quick, efficient, and portions were ample for the lunch specials. We ordered chicken satay to start (comes with a nice helping of peanut sauce and cucumber salad), a pad Thai for the table with tofu, and a few lunch plates including the yellow curry, pad krapow, and spicy eggplant. Everything was packed full of flavor, and they bring a spice/sauce tray out to the table if you need to bring your dish up a notch. The lunch special comes also with a 2-piece appetizer like potstickers, egg rolls, and curry puffs which I thought was a nice touch. Plenty of shopping center adjacent (and free) parking, and wallet friendly. They serve Thai/Laos beer, wine, and a nice dessert menu. Would love to come back and try the Lao's menu including the papaya salad and larb.
