This particular Panda Express for some reason cannot get there Orange Chicken right (you'd think they would know how to make it considering it is Panda's most popular dish). I usually only go to the Panda on Scenic/Oakdale in Modesto which is always good. Maybe the cooks need to get some cross-training done with that location to figure out how to make this dish right. I recently went into Panda Express and I got the steak and shrimp combo it's new on the menu and it costs a little extra. I sampled the steak and was impressed so I got the dish! When I brought my food home i noticed that there was not even any shrimp and barely steak the whole plate was filled with the potatoes and veggies! If I'm paying more for the entree I expect to at least taste some more of it I'm my plate! Panda needs to work on their portions and stop ripping people off! I decided to treat the family with chinese night,and spent over $50. First let me tell you how dam disgusting there food is here. Food is usually fine, nothing too special besides a good or bad day. The reason it's rated so low is because they don't care about the like of customers in their store, even if it's looping around tables in the way of customers eating. They prioritize mobile orders, I can be at the front of the line and they will tell me to wait so they can package and send out 4 plates before mine. If your entree of choice gets used up just before you're turn because you had to wait for stupid mobile orders first I'm sorry because you also have to wait another 10 minutes. Now I wouldn't care that much if I wasn't doing anything but this is the only place I can eat near me due to dietary restrictions, I had to spend a little over half my lunch time in that store, 30+ minutes! I'm so disappointed in how I was treated and when I'm there all the time buying food on my lunch breaks and being late going back from lunch not being able to eat my lunch at all! I went and ordered online. And note I was going at least 2 times a week so I ordered online and when I get there I waited 30 minutes to an hour for my food after I ordered it and of course all the food I ordered wasn't there I ended up getting 2 pieces of orange chicken in a kids meal and they weren't big pieces of chicken they were little pieces and then when I asked why I only got two pieces of chicken. I went to this panda to do a $13 DoorDash order and when I got through the door they told me "we're working on it right now", I thought they would bring it out in a few minutes, I ended up sitting there for almost a whole HOUR! And 6 times in a row they walked up and asked me Who is the customer again? 6 TIMES! And then on the 6th time they call me over and had me show them the phone! The food always tastes good at this Panda Express I'm always satisfied! If something is out there usually isn't a long wait for it. Always long lines but the workers do a great job getting through it. The employees are always nice and clean (what is nice to see in a food establishment). I think in all the time I've been there the dining area was only dirty once, I love how clean it's kept all the time I almost always see a worker cleaning the tables and sweeping the floors. Normally, I would give Panda Express 4 stars because of the long lines and some of the employees are rude (because they're tired and have been there through both the lunch and dinner rush) but this particular experience sticks out. I was having a particularly good day and Alex, the girl working at the cash register, made it so much better. You could tell that even though she had been there for a while that she was giving her all and even cheering up her co-workers with her can-do attitude. When I came to the register to pick up my order, she politely told me it wasn't finished yet (unlike some other experiences I've had) and went on with other customers. Many of the customers preferred to speak in Spanish and she was obviously fluent in the language. It's Panda Express...Just like all the others. Consistent food quality, portions and service. The only down side is that sometimes the line is long, and you have to wait for them to cook things when they run out. Nothing earth shattering. I feel guilty eating here because I would rather support local business. Nevertheless, I keep coming back because the food is always fresh (since it's busy) and consistent (because they have specific recipes to follow.)
