We were leary of trying so soon after they just opened but were pleasantly surprised. The drive-thru line was super long but they were fast and it was super fresh. The only drawback I noticed is how they designed their parking lot. Someone did not think the layout through. There is only one entrance and if the drive-thru line is really long then cars block the entrance. The only other opening into the lot is an exit only. this review is based on several visits to the panda express that I 20 and Highway 69 and Tyler Texas. It starts with going to the drive-through to place an order. home and realized there is very little actual main course but a lot of rice in my Styrofoam container. So I quit going through the drive-through and started going inside. It improves slightly, but there were several occasions when it was subpar as far as the quantity of food that I ordered. Keep in mind that certain entrées are $1.50 extra because of that very reason why I'm writing this for you this evening. I went into the one located at I 20 and state Highway 69 north Tyler Texas and ordered a double order of the pepper steak entrée I was charged the full price for the plate plus the $1.50 extra per order of the pepper steak. (that makes three dollars extra.) I'll also order two orders of Rangoon. And a bottle drink, when I got to the house there was barely one portion of the pepper steak in my Styrofoam container. Love the food here, okay service and good ambience. Restaurant is clean, order in person is fast. Problems: ordering in app means they will make it when you get there 1/2 the time. I got food poisoning from this location last night, I've been violently sick for over 12 hours. I ordered orange chicken, lo mein noodles, rice and beef which I didn't eat. I was incredibly sick within 1 hour of eating and the sickness won't stop. I'm having to book another hotel night because I'm still that sick. I would not ever recommend this location or Panda Express in general. My co-worker had the identical issue about a month ago and was sick for 2 days. My wife and I drove 32 miles because this was the closest panda express and that's what she wanted for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. At 2:15 on a Saturday afternoon they were out of fried rice and chow mein. I don't understand Management not being able to predict a late lunch or early dinner and be out of food. We went through the drive-through and they told us to pull around front. It would be 10 minutes. After 25 minutes I went inside. The manager was standing behind the counter chopping vegetables, and they were still cooking both fried rice, and chow mein there were several cars waiting in the drive-through besides us. After a long day of work, I Ordered and paid for 2 dinners from drive through. Was told Kung Po would take 6 minutes (I'm used to that) and they would bring me my food out front. Waited 20 minutes after that and had to go inside. Nobody knew where my order was and they started it then. So I waited another 6 minutes for Kung Po to cook THEN after filling the containers, he said I'd have to wait another 5-7 minutes for the noodles. Why the heck were they doing this whole time? Obviously my order got lost or something. I had to tell 3 different people my problem and what I ordered. They had 6 employees behind the counter but Nobody working there looked over 16 years old. Sooo frustrating when all I wanted was to order through the drive through, get home and relax. What should have been a 5-7 minute stop ended up being over 30 minutes AND I had to go inside anyway and wait some more. Never again. read more
