We ate here as a last resort as we were traveling through and didn't have a lot of options. Being in the middle between Wake Forest and Durham, options are scarce. We ordered our usual order at other restaurants and were quite disappointed by our food. The General Tso's didn't even have any broccoli in it. The noodles were very over cooked and the general taste of the food was quite bland. They asked if it was for here or to go, and we ate in the dining area. They essentially dropped the to-go containers on the table and walked away. No discussions, no asks for feedback, not even a smile. Seems like there is a complete disconnect. On a Sunday afternoon, there is a conundrum on Creedmoor when it comes to ordering Chinese takeout. There is only 1 decent takeout place in the Creedmoor/Butner area, and it was closed. So, I talked my buddy into ordering for his family and I ordered takeout for my bride and myself from Panda Garden. I decided to try something on the menu I had never had before, anywhere, the Singapore rice noodle. Decent dish, I really liked it. Not as spicy as I hoped it would be but I have a variety of hot sauces at the house that can really liven dishes up. The Crab Rangoon were also good. The order was up quickly and back up the road to Creedmoor we went. All in all, Creedmoor to here, ordering upon arrival, cooking/prepping and then back to Creedmoor was right at 1/2 hour. Quick service and better food than what was available in the immediate Creedmoor area. It seems it might be worth the drive to keep coming out here or to see if GrubHub will deliver. read more

This is one of those places that has the pictures of the food that you can order. Many people will say stay away but I'm here to tell you the food here is good! They have a big menu of all kinds of classic dishes to some that are for those of us who like to eat different type of Asian food and authentic food. The service here is fast and they are Asian, which is probably why all he dished we have had have been pretty dang good. My only complaint is that the breaded chicken in dishes like sweet and sour chicken is thick but they give you so much chicken, I can overlook the amount of breading. Ordered here to takeout and it was very meh to me. We got tofu schezuan, Four season, lo-mein, and wonton soup. The tofu wasn't cooked at all, to the point of it still be super soft and retaining no flavor at all. The four season was decent, besides the fact that the beef had a very off-putting flavor and there were 2 shrimp in the entire dish. Lo-mein was good, had great flavor, but the noodles were a bit thin and therefore got crunchy when fried. The wonton soup was good to me with more authentic noodles; more filling than noodle unlike other places, although the side of crunchy noodles they gave were very stale. I'm a repeat Panda Garden customer for a few years but this might be my last visit. Picked up Pork Lo Mein tonight. On about the third bite I chomped in something so hard I thought I damaged a tooth. After inspecting it appears bone, cartilage or hard gristle was served in my meal. The meat was loaded with this substance. I stopped looking after finding 8 pieces of it. Gross. At best, the attention to detail is lacking, at worst is an attempt to save a buck. It's disappointing I called the store but the preteen on the phone was apologetic but wasn't equipped to handle my complaint. Probably my last visit. read more

Having been here dozens of times in the last 8 years, I can say that I have never had a bad meal. The egg rolls are A+, always freshly made and just perfectly fried. All the soups are delicious, particularly the won ton. And I have had a dozen or so of the entrees and found them all excellent. The fried rice dishes are particularly good. Highly recommended. It has bee about 4 months since I ordered from Panda Garden. Today I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and the Triple Szechuan. I was surprisingly DISAPPOINTED. They must have changed chefs because both the soup and entree had very little taste. Hot and Sour soup was bland mostly sour and no heat. Szechuan had little taste. This place was a lot farther than I expected because it has a Wake Forest zip code. It is actually closer to Creedmore and North Raleigh! Don't let that deter you though. This is currently my favorite Chinese Restaurant, despite the distance from my house, and despite that there are at least 3 other Chinese Restaurants near me. My family and I usually order the Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, House Special Lo Mein, and Four Seasons. Each of the dishes that we've tried so far has been delicious. The flavors are well balanced, the meat and vegetables are well cooked, and most importantly taste just as good the next day. These four dishes give us leftovers for at least 2 more meals, with the rice that is included with each dish. It's a small establishment with a small dining area, so all of our orders have been takeout. This doesn't take away from the quality though and the prices are reasonable. Went on a hike at Falls Lake and saw this place on the way home and I am SO glad my husband and I stopped! We had the General Tso's chicken with white rice and sesame chicken with fried rice and both were fantastic. We ordered via phone in the parking lot and it was ready within 10 minutes. My husband went in to pick up our order and said that their sanitation measures are impressive and he felt really comfortable about their takeout process with customers. The lunch special value--price ($5.85) and how much food you get--is amazing and we both will have lunch tomorrow. It has been a journey to find decent Chinese food down here in North Carolina. We took for granted how many great Chinese places we had back in New England. Panda Garden's owners are originally from New York and the food here is authentic New York style American Chinese food. The chicken is all white meat, it isn't over breaded and the quality is much better than any other place we have found in Raleigh or the surrounding area. The crab rangoons are really good, the dumplings were above average and the egg rolls were delicious. All in all, a great experience. read more

A wonderful new Chinese place in wake forest! We ordered dinner to go, and were very pleased! The service was friendly and fast! The inside is very clean and bright. The dining area is not very big, but that's okay considering most people probably place "to-go" orders anyways. We ordered a small hot and sour soup, egg rolls, orange chicken, and moo shu vegetable. The food was packaged very thoughtfully so that it would make it back to the house without spilling, etc. The soup and egg rolls were good, about what I expected. I really liked the moo shu vegetable! It had really good flavor. The orange chicken was my favorite. It came with the perfect amount of sauce, and even contained small pieces of real orange peel! Finally! Good Chinese food! We just had our first order from Panda Garden and we will be calling them again. They have the best steamed dumplings I've had since we moved to NC, the shrimp in my shrimp and broccoli were nicely cooked. My husband enjoyed his pad thai and said the egg rolls were the "right kind" but that they could have used 30 seconds longer in the fryer. This place is my go-to Chinese take-out in the Triangle. I make the drive from Brier Creek to Wake Forest -- it's that good. I'm a born-and-raised New Yorker, and this place checks all the boxes for the Chinese food I had back up North (to be fair, it's Americanized, but that's what I'm after). General Tso chicken, Kung Pao, Singapore noodles and sweet and sour chicken is also really good. I ordered Vegetable Pad Thai and thought it was OK. I've had better Pad Thai so I might try something more Chinese inspired next time. My vegetable roll was good. My husband ordered Chicken Fried Rice and he liked it. Overall I'd say the food is slightly better than your typical inexpensive Chinese place, but it's still nothing to rave about.
