I received my order and opened the box to see that there were no noodles and it was soaked it what appeared to be water. The chicken was undercooked and not even edible. There was absolutely no flavor and everything was soggy. I spent a lot of money to receive something that I can't even eat. A good, solid Americanized Chinese place. A little bland, but definitely edible (and definitely better than King Fong, which is a story for another day). Affordable, too! The wonton soup broth is literally... chicken broth. No depth of flavor to it. The wonton is mostly noodle, almost no filling. But the egg roll was spot-on! Husband's orange chicken was also great... I ordered the Amazing Shrimp, which turned out to be decent, but not "amazing". The service was really wonderful, and it's a beautiful location. So many windows, so much natural light! I just ordered for the first time a delivery from this place. I wanted shrimp chow mein. What they gave me was shrimp in cabbage and that was it. I called back and said i think you gave me the wrong order. The man on the phone said no it comes with fried noodles. I said the thick fried noodles for my wonton soup yes but it's suppose to have thin crispy angel hair type noodle and there is none. He begins to argue with me that I'm thinking of lo mein! Overall, Panda House is a decent pass for a neighborhood Chinese place. Since it's walking distance for me, I'll probably frequent it a bit, but wouldn't recommend driving downtown just for the joint. I dined in at around 8 PM on a Saturday, and was the only person in the restaurant (I guess with the downtown work-week, it might do more in-restaurant business during the weekday lunch crowd). an empty restaurant isn't a good sign, but the phone was ringing off the hook with takeout orders while I was in there, so demand was high atleast (all asking for chicken-fried rice though - there was plenty of better stuff on the menu). the owner didn't seem overly hospitable, but since I'm not a big customer service critic, it didn't bother me one way or the other. I ordered the hot and spicy soup ($1.50) [my usual barometer for a chinese place], the two flavors lamb ($12.95), and a Tsingtao. The beer came with a crystal chalice for a glass, which is not preferable to a lager or pint glass (course, the locals drink Tsingtao from plastic bags, so who am I to judge, really). The soup came out quickly and warm, though could have used more vinegar to add more of the sour flavor - I was glad, though, that it wasn't the tomato-based version of the soup I've suffered through at other Chinese places that failed to earn my repeat business. My main course quickly followed, piping-hot and well spiced/flavored, with scallions and onions bringing a lot of flavor to both sides of the dish. Presentation was pretty good too - a line of orange slices separated the two different lamb dishes, which were pretty tasty to eat after they soaked up the dishes's sauce. I plan to head back, though wouldn't consider this more than a mid-week, "I don't feel like cooking" and/or need a pre-drinking meal spot. I'd concur with the other reviewers too on the "steer clear of the cocktails" line. read more

A group of coworkers and I decided to order food through Panda House this evening. Terrible experience. After taking the time to get everyones orders put together and calling a 3rd party, after being advised they wouldn't directly deliver even though the website said they did, the delivery driver literally dropped the food and ran. Perhaps the fluid leaking from the bags from not being properly sealed was his reason? All of the orders were messed up and, when calling the restaurant to advise them of such, had a horrible attitude and not so much as an apology. I absolutely love Panda House! It was on the list of my must haves when coming back to Nebraska for a visit. I can't even explain how scrumptious the food is and just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. I always order dinner here and order the Lover's Nest with a side of crab rangoons! The presentation of the Lover's Nest is spot on and I recommend it to anyone trying Panda House for the first time. The Lover's Nest as the menu states is a combination of shredded chicken, beef, and vegetables bathed in delicious brown sauce with a sweet, spicy zing....then tossed into a crunchy basket shell with fried noodles! Oh and can't forget the rice! Such a scrumptious dish and cannot seem to part from this to try other things on the menu! It's just so spot on and fulfills my every taste bud and desire for amazing Chinese food! The service is also good. The waiters and waitresses are always so kind. Overall, I believe this place is a must have. Oh and enough food to eat the next day....even better! read more

Me and PH go back a few years, since my first meal here upon arriving in 2012 to my latest one a couple weeks ago...Seems a few months back there was a change in ownership, and it really has been reflected in the food, the service and for me, the overall dining experience...Is this place perfect? No, but for me it get's the job done and done well...the new owners recognize me now from coming in a lot recently and I like that...Since I started coming here regularly again, I've yet to have a bad meal, or bad service...It's unfortunate others recently seem to have nothing nice to say about PH since they really are trying to fix the mistakes the previous owners made and I for one will continue coming here... read more

My husband and I were famished late Labor Day evening, and took to Yelp to find out what was open. Panda House it is! We walked in to this adorable downtown location and the staff cordially welcomed us in and took our orders immediately. I can't say enough about how charming their location is - large windows that look onto downtown, bright lighting, tall ceilings, and clean. My husband had the chicken lo mein and I had the tangerine chicken. The tangerine chicken was succulent dark meat with a sauce that was simultaneously sweet, citrusy, with just enough spice. My husband usually does not like dark meat, but he really liked my dish. I had a bit of his lo mein and it was quite wonderful - just the right amount of salt. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we're ordering delivery from them tonight for dinner. Charming locale, diverse menu, polite staff, long hours, and solidly good food. I finally tried Panda House but only pick up and did not eat in the restaurant (which would have been odd because not a single person was in there!). We got Mongolian Beef, Egg Drop Soup, Egg roll and crab rangoon. Everything was pretty good except for the main dish-Mongolian Beef. There were SO many onions and barely any beef! The flavor was good but you just can't take that many onions with one meal. I will consider going back but would never order that meal again. The Curry Shrimp was fantastic! I also recommend the Pan Fried Dumplings. The fried rice is a bit different then the norm. It's light in color from not using as much soy sauce. Just had the WORST dining experience of my life! Not only was my order wrong,I was given one price on the phone and charged 5 dollars MORE on my credit card when I received my receipt! My ribs were inedible(had a rancid flavor!),couldn't eat the crab rangoon either,as the 'Fishy" taste OVER POWERED the cream cheese! They do delivery, yet clearly they don't want to do delivery. It doesn't make any sense to me. I called the guy gave him my order at the end of it he tried talking me out of doing delivery I asked him if he could deliver and you said yes it would take 55 minutes. I'm only 8 blocks away, and yet he tells me it will be 15 minutes if I come pick it up. He spent most of the conversation trying to persuade me to come pick it up and I finally just did. I ordered twice from this place and was disappointed each time. Combination fried rice was ok but the shrimp and chicken entree we got each time were both bad to say the least. It comes with white/ fried rice which has almost no flavor. The entree itself is a decent portion but it js mostly soggy Vegetables and flavorless sauce.
