My friend and I had dinner at Panda Inn last night and were happy with everything from beginning to end. This restaurant opened in 1973 and is the 'original Panda Express'. In 1983, the owners of the high end Chinese restaurant Panda Inn were asked to make a quick service version of their restaurant in the Glendale Galleria mall and this is what we know now as Panda Express. Service was perfect throughout, friendly enough and checked in the perfect amount on us. Not too much, not too little - just like Goldilocks. We started with the crab rangoon which was mad expensive at $13 for 4 pieces. However, holy filling! I have had a billion zillion crab rangoons and these were filled more than I've ever had. Real crab, not the imitation stuff, and filled to the brim with the cream cheese filling. Crisp on the outside. The price is steep, but I highly recommend them. We had to try the orange chicken and it is better than the fast food version at Panda Express. Insanely crisp to perfection. Perfect flavor plus you can alter the level of spice. Huge portion for $19 with cute little baby corns throughout. We also had the sweet and sour pork, another large portion for $19. We absolutely loved the taste of their sauce on this, again quite crisp, just a near perfect dish. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal. Yes, the prices are expensive but the portions are huge. We had tons of leftovers. I would absolutely go back to Panda Inn for their delicious eats. read more

Food is really good! But wait times are horrible!! They told us about an hour wait, After a whole hour of waiting, Then they told us 20 more minutes, then after asking again. They told us sorry to wait another 20 min.... In total we ended up waiting 2hrs just to be seated. I understand restaurants get full especially on weekends, but they need to be more accurate with their waiting times. If I knew I'd be waiting longer than the hour I was originally told...I would have preferred to go somewhere else. read more

The newly opened panda inn restaurant did not live up the the hype as expected. We came on a Friday at 12 and was met with the slowest service I've ever experienced, we had to request a server 15 minutes after sitting down for anyone to take our order. They were extremely short staffed, and we were ignored for 50 minutes after getting first dish, the second dish still hadn't came yet as I'm writing this review. The wonton nachos had too few chips to the toppings and we were left with more than half of the ingredients after the chips were finished. I have to say that I'm very disappointed with Panda Inn's food. We have been coming here for years when it was the old Panda Inn and seems like ever since they remodeled, not only are the prices high but the food quality doesn't seem up to par. My biggest complaint is ordering the kung pao shrimp. $25 for a small tray of this. It looked like something I ordered from Panda Express! Taste was bland. Quality was poor. Just overall bad. It's too bad...but we won't be coming back and spending ridiculous money on food we can get for cheaper from a hole in the wall! read more

We went to panda inn for my birthday dinner (reserved one the private rooms) and we were soooo excited to see Elaine as our server. She was one of the main servers before the remodel and we always loved seeing her. After the remodel we didn't see her the couple times we went in and just assumed she wasn't with the company anymore. We were excited to see her back! She is so personable and always takes the time to connect with us. As always, the food was amazing and the service was even better! Overall I thought everything was just okay, nothing special. Everything was pretty salty. They do offer white or brown rice with your dish which is nice. Lo mien - this dish was very saucy and in my option too salty. There were a decent amount of vegetables but not too much. I prefer the regular chow mien at Panda Express Phoenix chicken - this was the best dish we got. It had a lot of flavor. I wouldn't get this to go though since it will probably be soggy. It was a little soggy and not crunchy towards the end of our meal Shrimp in garlic sauce - this was just okay. Lots of sauce and flavor but nothing special. It did have a lot of vegetables which we didn't finish String beans - pretty mediocre too. Nothing special and wasn't as crisp as I would like. Ronnie took great care of us for our daughter's 5th birthday! Orange chicken is her favorite food, so this was the perfect occasion. Grandma brought cake and ice cream and the staff was super patient and accommodating with these special requests and came cutting. Everything was super delicious. The place is nicely renovated and looks very high-end now! The mushu wrap was the best thing we had, very flavorful veggies with hoisin sauce. The upside down noodles were bland and I wish the sauce came out hotter temperature wise. The mapo tofu had something in it I didn't like, a little over powering. Celebrated a birthday here recently. Food and service were good but when I got the check all they gave me was a Total with space to add Gratuity. When I asked for the itemized check it included a Gratuity. I showed it to Manager and got no response. Called Corporate, no response, called the restaurant and spoke to manager and she denied it but when I told her I had both receipts she back peddled. No further action was taken by anyone at Panda. They spared no detail with the remodel! Modern, spacious, and beautiful restaurant. We started off by pulling into their new and free parking structure right behind the venue. The entrance to the restaurant also made a statement with its grand doors and welcoming adjacent patio. We loved the interior and the variety of seating that accommodates both small and large groups, as well as open and private seating. The sushi and alcoholic bars also look cool, and there was a nice selection of spirits. We ordered a variety of dishes and they tasted as delicious as before. The service was impeccable. The food was amazing! But we were seated outside and we were not served our food altogether. We were given half our order one plate at a time and the second half never came until we had to find our waiter and tell him we were missing plates. Have always loved this place. They did remodel recently, and the building does look nice. The food really doesn't taste any different than it did before. The menu seems smaller. Some of the fav. items that we've ordered previously, they said they no longer carry. They have a robot serving your meals now which is impressive at first sight, but service in general seem less personal now. With the high ceilings, the atmosphere seems more 'industrial' now (like a warehouse) adding a little echo feedback with everybody in the restaurant talking all at the same time. So in general, the atmosphere doesn't seem quite as intimate as before. I'm sure we will go back to P.I. , but it's just not as high on our list as it was before. read more
