Food, service, everything was great! We were seated at the sushi bar and it was cool to get to watch the chefs make all the different rolls they offer! The restaurant is huge, and they have plenty of capacity to seat large and small parties. There's a giant automated parking structure behind the restaurant which you get three hours of validated parking. My drink was always full - and they seemed to ask as soon as it was empty if we wanted a new one! My wife jokingly said, "As a Chinese person I would come back here" rofl so seal of approval from her. We had a mixed chicken pork shrimp and lobster dish which was great and beef fried rice along with some pork potstickers. It was all very hot and fresh and tasty. All the meat was tender including the lobster - not chewy at all. Our oyster appetizer was probably the highlight of the night because the yuzu foam was just so nice and refreshing. I also really like that the fortune cookies are wrapped in this brightly colored wrappers and dipped in white chocolate. Nice touch. Even though we were at the sushi bar I felt like the service was great. The sushi bar staff were great service and they even helped us validate parking and box up our leftover fried rice. 5/5 will come again! The price was worth it.

Oh, what a gem of a place we stumbled upon in Pasadena! We came here specifically for the omakase menu, but we'll definitely be making another trip back to try some of the main menu items in the dining hall. The omakase was delicious. The fish was fresh, the flavors complemented each other and the presentation was lovely. For the quality and quantity of the omakase menu, the pricing is very reasonable. I forgot which item was which but some of the items I really enjoyed were the tofu w/ ikura, the berries, oyster, hirame, mushroom broth (this was a palate cleanser but I couldn't stop drinking it), toro, chawanmushi, toro hand roll, and katsuo. I uploaded some pictures, which may be blurry but I'm not a photographer so whatever... Chef Hide was kind, friendly, and served us some really wonderful dishes. Our server, Tony, was also amazing -- attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely great throughout the entire experience. Even the manager stopped by to check on us, which was such a nice touch. They were also incredibly thoughtful about my birthday. They surprised me with a red envelope with a personalized note and a bag of brightly colored house-made fortune cookies (which were so good), and even a candle on my dessert. This is exactly the kind of warmth and hospitality you want when dining at any restaurant -- feeling welcomed, appreciated, and genuinely taken care of. The restaurant itself is also quite spacious, making it a great option for larger groups. They also have a large outdoor space available. The dress code ranges from casual to trendy/upscale, and the ambiance fits it all. It was definitely a plus being able to enjoy an omakase experience without feeling like we had to get all dolled up. Can't wait to come back~ TIP: 3 hours free parking with validation.

It never crossed my mind to visit Panda Inn. The owners also brought you Panda Express. They are located in Pasadena. They serve a lot of Americanized Chinese food. One thing I learned to appreciate over the years is Americanized Chinese food. We were in a private room. We had our own waitstaff. It was very nice. We started off with the Chinese favorite of sushi (sarcasm intended). We had rolls, nigiri, and Seared A5 Wagyu tataki. We had their lobster noodles, upside down noodles and the Panda Inn Special. Sure, it wasn't the same kind of stuff that you get in Monterey Park, but it was good in that it was not the same stuff you always get. Dessert was their white chocolate fortune cookie. Everything that we had was good. It's a great place for a different type of Chinese meal.

I hadn't been here in at least 4 years. I know that it was pre-renovation. This past Friday we met some friends here for dinner and it was delicious! We ordered pot stickers in both pork and veggie as starters along with lychee martinis. For dinner we ordered orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, fried rice, kung pao chicken, green beans and noodles. Let's just say we ordered too much food...it was so good. We just had to splurge and order dessert too! The service was excellent and the ambiance is gorgeous! I am looking forward to my next visit and bringing other friends.

Finally made it to Panda Inn after their renovation. The space is very well designed. It has the very high end and elevated feel like Din Tai Fung. It's reflected in the price point now too. The food was excellent. It's a bit more authentic Chinese cuisine than Panda Express but still appeal to everyone. The ingredients are a bit higher quality and the cooking techniques are more refined. We ordered spicy Serrano pork, Mongolian beef and upside down noodles with chicken. We enjoyed all three dishes. The service is very attentive. But towards the end of our meal we were slowing down eating and just chatting, the waiter kept coming back and asking if we are done. This happened at least 3 times and we felt rushed although it was not super busy and there were some empty tables. Another thing to improve is the pages of the menu book are sticky and wrinkled. We didn't feel so comfortable touching it. Overall this is a higher end Chinese restaurant with good food and services. It's good for special occasions. There is a parking garage behind the restaurant now. Remember to get validation from Panda Inn for 3 hours of free parking.

The Original Panda Inn is an institution. They remodeled the entire Inn and the bar is really a sight to behold. 1. Orange Chicken **** 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp ***** 3. Crab Ragu ***** 4. Beef Lo Mien The ambiance is nice and spacious. Portions are bigger. Parking is free with validation. The Crab wontons were a crowd pleaser, surprisingly tasty, and the sauce complimented the entire dish well.

I am not a fan of Panda Express, but I have been curious about Panda Inn since it reopened. First off, the restaurant looked beautiful and spacious. I was excited and couldn't wait to get seated lol Once we got seated, things kinda went downhill. There was a bug flying around and we felt itchy... We weren't that hungry. We just wanted to give the place a try. So we ordered a few items. The waitress was nice and helpful. We ordered the Hot & sour soup bowl. This was enough for 4-5 people. I felt like this was the best outta all the items we ordered. The honey walnut tempura shrimps rolls sounded nice, but there was nothing special about it. It looked plain and tasted plain... Tea smoked duck sounded lovely, but also nothing special. The duck itself was pretty salty and a bit dry. Tasted like smoked ham to me lol The toppings and baos to go with the duck was very simple. No wonder it was only $36. When the waitress informed us that it was a whole duck, I was wondering why only $36. It was a pretty small size lol so it made sense. The presentation for the Bok choy & mushrooms was pretty. However, it was pretty plain. Overall, the two items were fresh. Chow fun was pretty salty and oily. We had to eat it with rice... The fortune cookies were good. It was a nice finish for the meal. Would prob visit again if someone I know wanna try it.

Stopped by Panda Inn again for a birthday dinner and it was a whole different experience! My previous experience with their extremely salty takeout food was as if I went to another restaurant ~ We booked a room which has a $400 minimum. The service was absolutely spectacular and the food all came out in a timely manner. I loved everything we ordered from the mushroom salad to the walnut shrimp; everything was perfectly seasoned. Definitely be back! Parking is validated in the back parking structure for 3 hours I believe.

The ladies at the reception area were incredibly kind. Shoutout to Pilar, who took my call and extended my reservation past the 15 minute grace period because traffic was extremely congested due to road closures. She was so reassuring that it took the stress out of getting there. The parking structure adjacent to the restaurant is meant for the restaurant customers, and Panda Inn validates parking. The interior looks so elegant. It looks like a place fit for formal celebrations. High ceilings, lots of space between tables, a bar - it all screamed high-end. Which it was. Our Thai server was delightful. She offered her recommendations, most of which we took. The sweet and sour pork is usually the dish by which we gauge a Chinese restaurant's authenticity and competence, and theirs was sublime. Crispy but covered in that rich, tangy sauce. The beef fried rice was as expected and so were the lobster wontons (very small portion). We ordered the lobster with crispy noodles and found it overly salty so we had to send it back to the kitchen. Thankfully, they took it off our bill. The hot and sour soup was satisfying. We were stuffed! Would we go back? Hell yeah. I don't know how we can eat at Panda Express after having had such a great meal here.

The service here was amazing . I mean 5 stars . The wonton soup was delicious. This panda inn doesn't have family size but you can order double the serving to make it family size. Omg if you love ginger ale you just try theirs because they make an amazing ginger ale i love it. I didn't take too many pictures of the food because i forgot. We were able to get a table with a turn table so it made it easy for a family dinner and they allowed us to bring a cake for a birthday and they cut it and served it for us they even brought some candles for us. I mean service was outstanding great food good atmosphere what else can we ask for. I also love their fortune cookies dipped in white chocolate omg they are also amazing.

I came for dinner on a weekday and we were seated right away. Service was great! I ordered a king salmon carpaccio, sweet and sour pork, hot and sour soup, upside down crispy noodles, and bok choy & mushrooms. The king salmon carpaccio was fresh and delicious. My favorite dishes of the night were the upside down crispy noodles and the sweet and sour pork. The upside crispy noodles were delicious but doesn't stay crispy for long because of the sauce that it sits in so if you like it crispy you might want to eat it fast. I love sweet and sour pork and it definitely hit the spot. The hot and sour soup was my sister's favorite. It wasn't too sour. The bok choy and mushroom were more on the bland side.

I love Panda Express so naturally I had to try the original, and more upscale, Panda Inn. What a treat! This location has its own parking structure and it seems newly renovated. It's huge! And beautifully decorated. 5/5 for ambiance We ordered a smattering since it's all family style, starting with the Mu shu pork. That plum sauce is delicious! And the staff were so sweet to wrap them for us. We also got the egg drop soup (this was good but nothing to write home about) and the wontons. For our mains we shared the orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, honey walnut shrimp and a side of green beans. Everything was fresh and delicious but my favorite was the honey walnut shrimp. This is one of my favorite Panda dishes and I appreciated that they were actually able to accommodate our walnut allergy so my husband could enjoy. He loved it! Overall, this was a great spot for a family dinner.

Celebrated a birthday here recently. Food and service were good but when I got the check all they gave me was a Total with space to add Gratuity. When I asked for the itemized check it included a Gratuity. I showed it to Manager and got no response. Called Corporate, no response, called the restaurant and spoke to manager and she denied it but when I told her I had both receipts she back peddled. No further action was taken by anyone at Panda. So enjoy yourself but be careful when it's time to pay. read more

Ronnie took great care of us for our daughter's 5th birthday! Orange chicken is her favorite food, so this was the perfect occasion. We were given half our order one plate at a time and the second half never came until we had to find our waiter and tell him we were missing plates. They spared no detail with the remodel! Modern, spacious, and beautiful restaurant. We started off by pulling into their new and free parking structure right behind the venue. The entrance to the restaurant also made a statement with its grand doors and welcoming adjacent patio. We loved the interior and the variety of seating that accommodates both small and large groups, as well as open and private seating. The sushi and alcoholic bars also look cool, and there was a nice selection of spirits. We ordered a variety of dishes and they tasted as delicious as before. The service was impeccable. My husband and I went to Panda Inn for lunch on a Wednesday. I read on their website that they had a lunch special which included a soup and appetizers with the entree you choose. Our hostess said that they don't do the lunch special only certain locations. They really should be accurate on their website and specify that it is only at certain locations. Our server, Kyle, was terrible. No personality, terrible attitude and not attentive, and it was not busy. The food was good, but dining out is half about service. It was not a pleasant all around dining experience. Panda needs to do better if you want people to spend $100 for lunch!!! read more

Long overdue. 30 years as a customer. 30 years. Used to go in 6 times a month. They shut down during the Pandemic and it took several years for them to renovate and reopen. My health nowadays limits my mobility. So after the reopening I was excited to have them back and utilized food delivery. CONTINUOUS AND ONGOING ISSUES. EVERY single time I order on uber eats, postmates, or even grub hub I order the dish and under their condiments section ask for 2 chili in oil condiments like they served at the restautant. This is given as an option. In about 20 food delivery orders they included the chili in oil twice. I finally called about a month ago and told the woman handling the takout/delivery of my unsatisfaction. She assured me it would be remedied. Ordered again. SAME PROBLEM. The straw that broke the camel's back was last 2 orders today and last week. Last week Kung Pao shrimp. NO FORTUNE COOKIES AND NO CHILI SAUCE. Then today Hone Walnut shrimp and get this NO WALNUTS INCLUDED and NO CHILI SAUCE. I'm flabbergasted and am finally done. Also food quality has gone wayyyyyy down since the reopening. So after over 30 years (been going since late teens and am 55 yrs old now) I will stop giving them business. If you cannot handle your quality control in terms of packing your delivery orders PROPERLY, and it is a REPEATED ongoing issue, then you have zero business being in business. Hope people stay as far away from you as possible UNTIL you get things fixed. read more

Absolutely beautiful restaurant!! Reopened November 2024. Tasteful interior. Posh. Wonderful service by Ronnie who had delicious recommendations. Garage parking was free, maybe temporary as construction in the area seems to still be ongoing. Street parking available. Private rooms available with advance booking. Have always loved this place. They did remodel recently, and the building does look nice. The food really doesn't taste any different than it did before. The menu seems smaller. Some of the fav. items that we've ordered previously, they said they no longer carry. They have a robot serving your meals now which is impressive at first sight, but service in general seem less personal now. With the high ceilings, the atmosphere seems more 'industrial' now (like a warehouse) adding a little echo feedback with everybody in the restaurant talking all at the same time. So in general, the atmosphere doesn't seem quite as intimate as before. I'm sure we will go back to P.I. , but it's just not as high on our list as it was before. read more

I'm so happy Panda Inn is finally open again. Came here opening day and was taken back by the beautiful decor and atmosphere. Although it looked very different from the original, the service and food were just as I remembered. Our server, Elaine, was so sweet and attentive. We ordered our usuals: hot and sour soup, mango duck salad, fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, and orange chicken. It all tasted better than I remember! Let's just say... this was less "fast casual mall food court" and more "date night with a button-up shirt required." First off--parking in Pasadena can be chaotic, but Panda Inn makes it easy with a large structure right behind the restaurant. Already a win. We were extremely disappointed with our recent experience at Panda Inn. We had brought family from out of town and were excited for our first visit to the newly remodeled location after hearing so many great things. We made a 6:15 reservation and specifically requested outdoor seating since we were dining with a baby and toddler and needed more space. We were also trying to be considerate of other guests, knowing that toddlers can sometimes be loud and the indoor tables are very close together. When we arrived, we were seated inside despite the patio being almost entirely empty. When we explained that we had specifically requested outdoor seating, we were told that "sometimes people request outside seating but don't actually want to sit outside," which was frustrating and dismissive. We explained again that we truly did want to sit outside because of the kids, but were told they could not accommodate us because a large party was arriving in 30 minutes and needed the patio tables. What made the situation even more upsetting was that we tried to offer solutions and were simply shut down. The entire interaction made us feel as though the larger party mattered more because they would obviously be spending more money. We asked to speak with a manager hoping there would be some flexibility or at least an effort to make us feel valued as customers, but nothing was done to accommodate us. If specific dining requests are not actually considered, they should not be part of the reservation process. The most disappointing part wasn't even that they couldn't honor the request -- it was the lack of hospitality, empathy, and willingness to help in any way. We ended up leaving completely frustrated and disappointed. We've always loved Panda Inn, which makes this experience even more upsetting, but the way we were treated was unacceptable and unfortunately not somewhere we will return to. read more

I came across an article highlighting Panda's founders and they talked about having a 5 year plan to become recognized as the world leader in people development. What an incredible vision and this prompted me to dine at Panda Inn. I've eaten at Panda Express but wasn't aware that there was a sit-down restaurant! There's always a stigma that Panda's menu is not authentic Chinese food and let me tell you, it is authentically Chinese but with an American twist - what a win-win situation! Sometimes, I think it's important to leave our comfort zone and to really experience innovative kitchens such as Panda's. To my surprise and complete opposite to what I've been hearing, the dishes here were delicious. I highly recommend ordering the wok-fried jumbo scallops with sauteed spinach in wine sauce. That was my favorite dish. The sweet and aromatic shrimp was also really good (looked exactly like the menu's picture)! I was inspired to get a little creative and enjoyed the shrimps with my chicken lettuce wraps! The ingredients were fresh and the portions were also very generous. Friends who advise us that if we want to experience "authentic" Chinese food, we need to go to A, B or C restaurant instead. However, if you want great service, comfort and ambiance, Panda Inn is where you need to take your family to. It's a festive and elegant restaurant to host holiday parties (great for both family and company events!). Another reason to support the Panda family of restaurants is that instead of focusing on prosperity, they are heavily focused on developing people to become the best version of themselves. My family and I were looking for a family-friendly place since my baby nephew was joining us. We decided on Panda Inn for a family night out to celebrate my sister's birthday. We made a reservation for a Saturday night at 7:30 PM, it was super busy, so we didn't get seated until about 7:45 PM, which was totally understandable. The restaurant has a nice, open layout, which made it easy to fit our stroller comfortably without feeling crowded. Our server, PK, was absolutely amazing. One of the friendliest and most attentive servers we've ever had! She greeted us with such warmth and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire meal. It is always a good sign when my shy baby nephew gives someone a big smile, and he instantly liked her! We ordered the short ribs, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, filet mignon chow fun, string beans, and the sushi platter. Everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Even though PK was clearly busy with other tables, she still made time to check in on us often, refill our waters without us having to ask, and make sure our food came out perfectly. I think the food is ok for fast food Chinese. Fortune cookies and egg rolls are what I often order and those fortunes are always so corny. Panda Inn is like an antiquated Panda Express. But what I don't understand is how a billionaire like Michelle can be Christian, go to our church and not give us, Epicentre more money. Look Cherngs, pastor John Lo pays himself a measly six digit figure salary and he definitely wants more of your finances. We know you're billionaires so donate more of your money to God by donating to us. We can hear what God is telling us. Andrew, take the Lord's word for it, it is difficult for the rich to enter heaven. Don't be heartless and rob God. It is all His anyway. I mean, Panda Inn's boba is fine but it's not inexpensive. We visited this restaurant during its grand opening and had a wonderful experience with the chicken. However, we had to wait a long time for the service and for our food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn't even the correct order. On our subsequent visits, we encountered several challenges with the service. There were significant delays in receiving our food, and unfortunately, half of our order was forgotten. Additionally, the appetizers and drinks did not arrive before the main courses, which was quite disappointing. When the food finally arrived, we noticed that the chicken and beef had very little meat and consisted mainly of batter. We also found it a bit too sweet and not what we expected, especially after waiting 45 minutes. I finally got to check out the newly remodeled Panda Inn in Pasadena and I was really excited to experience the OG spot. This is the original location from 1973, and it just reopened after being closed in 2023 for a full refresh. The new look is clean and modern, but still feels like it honors the original vibe. It was fun being back. I've always known Panda Inn as the fancier, sit-down version of Panda Express, and this place definitely still feels more upscale. As for the food... it was okay. Honestly, nothing super memorable. The walnut shrimp was good. I'd definitely order that again. But the fried rice was incredibly salty, and I wouldn't get that next time. Instead of a server stopping by to say something like, "Just a heads up, you have about 20 minutes left if you'd like to place any final orders," we've had the payment terminal brought to our table while we were still eating, with no explanation except "Your 90 min are up" . It feels abrupt and honestly disrespectful. A simple reminder ahead of time would make the experience feel much more hospitable while still enforcing the restaurant's policy. I hope management sees this as constructive feedback because I genuinely want this restaurant to succeed. The food is some of the best around, and that's why I continue recommending it. I just believe the level of customer service should match the quality of the food. I stopped by here around 7PM on a Sunday and thankfully was able to find street parking quickly (bonus--parking was free on Sundays). The menu is pretty simple but has all of the Thai standards like noodles, curry, and rice dishes. I opted for the Pad Thai, which was delicious. It came with chicken as well as two pieces of shrimp, and the portion was very generous. The food also came out in around 10 minutes, which I was very grateful for as I was pretty hungry when I ordered. The cafe is fairly casual and there were several people picking up takeout orders. Most dishes were under $20 which I think is very fair in this day and age. Definitely looking to return and trying some of their other dishes (fried rice looked good, maybe I'll try that next).

Their daily lunch special (11am -3pm) is one of the best deals around for only $14. It comes with your preferred protein entree, a side salad, white rice and your choice of 2 egg rolls or chicken potstickers. My favorite is their cashew nut chicken, extra spicy. The beef and broccoli is great too. The food is always flavorful, fresh and the portions are generous. They have a great menu with a lot of appetizers, soups, noodles and your favorite Thai dishes. They have a nice list of dessert options including mango sticky rice and homemade coconut Ice cream. Online ordering is available too but service is always fast and friendly. Street parking is no longer free in Pasadena as of 2026. Lots of paid parking in nearby lots. This is a must try spot for authentic and affordable Thai food in Pasadena's playhouse district.
