Open late is how a friend and I ended up here. After being blown off at another restaurant, we wandered until we found this joint, dropped in had a bite and took the rest to go. It's in the Gaslamp so IYKYK about the parking. I'll just say good luck. I was there for Comic Con so my car was parking in a nearby garage and I was on foot the duration of the convention. So, I can't comment on how much parking is for a few hours or the day. Anyway, it's not a full service restaurant. Walk in. Order. Wait for your order. Eat in if you can find a spot. Or take it to go. Place is busy in the evening - probably because of the convention but also it's quick and easy. Had we just ordered slices of pizza, we probably would have been in and out in minutes. However, we ordered salad and pasta so that took a little while so we decided to eat some while it was hot and fresh and though not the best we've ever experienced, it hit the spot as we hadn't eaten all day and it was late. Even if you eat indoors, it's a little loud with the music and the sounds from the Gaslamp. Not sure if it's the right way to describe it but I say it's fast casual. Whatever the case - it wasn't bad. It was open and affordable. And I'd go back if ever I'm in the same situation - looking for quick and easy and something decent. read more

There are a few dining spaces to sit both inside and outside. We opted to take our food to go with their two slice plus drink for $10.99. The slices are big ( think Costco size!). At the time we arrived late on a Sunday evening, there were only four Pizza set out to select from. I dropped by Tony's after a night of going out with friends for drinks and had the munchies and was craving something that would fulfill my empty stomach. I walked in and there were a couple of customers coming through ordering as well. I went ahead and ordered the pepperoni jalapeño ranch Pizza by the slice. All the pizzas are on display and when you order they throw the slice into the hot oven again to reheat it but in my case they did not. He told me that the Pizza just came out of the oven and is already hot. In my head and eyes it wasnt hot he just wanted to get people in and out as fast as he could to prevent a crowd build up from all the crowds on a weekend night. As for the Pizza it was just okay and nothing spectacular. The Gaslamp has tons of pizza by the slice shops and I have never expierenced something like this before where service was not a priority. I love this New York City style pizza. The crust is fresh and crispy. The cheese is salty and creamy. I got the E Street special which has fresh tomato, mushrooms, and basil. You can't go wrong with that! My boyfriend got a slice of the Brewski which has pepperoni and sausage. Also a winner. He grew up in New York and confirmed that this is indeed New York City style pizza as it was easy to fold in half without the crust breaking...something I still don't understand but what I do understand is that these were delicious pies! Stromboli is on the me u for today. It was hard trying to figure out what to eat for lunch one day and if you're in downtown you know there are a bunch of different directions one could go especially if you don't know what you're in the mood for. At first I was torn between the special-two pizza and a drink combo or a sandwich... then I saw this stromboli calling out my name. Bada bing stromboli it was. The stromboli has huge and it comes re-heated or is it re-warmed from the oven. It was nice and crunchy and came with a marinara dipping sauce. The flavor of the day is the philly steak stromboli. We ordered from here because it was close and open late! We called and placed an order for a large pizza and garlic knots for delivery. We were told the total was $51. The person stated it would take an hour to deliver and that they would call us. The pizza was delivered hot but we weren't given a receipt. My friend realized the pizza was only $24 so we looked at the yelp prices to try to figure out why the bill was so high. The 3 topping large pizza is listed as $24 and the person who helped us stated the knots were $1/knot.. Not sure how much delivery is when you call in since we didn't get a receipt but yelp lists $2.99 and that brought the total to about $34. That's a $15 difference. We called back to request clarity on the price difference. They apologized and stated the total was $47 instead of $51 and referenced the receipt. We told them we didn't get one and they rushed us off the phone and said they'd talk to the person who delivered the pizza when he was back. They called us back after a while and stated the total was $36 and that the driver stated we game them $47. I explained I have them 2 twenty dollar bills, 2 fives, and 1 dollar bill so that I couldn't have given them $47. The owner stated the driver gave him exactly what was given and that they would send him with the difference.
