Panera Bread is pretty generic when it comes to their food, but that's not what gave them the low score. It was their customer service. I pride myself on good customer service, if you work in any industry where you have to interact with customers you need to have a good personality. I am something of a Panera addict. I have been known to go for breakfast and stay through lunch. Why, you might ask, would I want to spend hours at a bagel place? They have free wi-fi, so I bring my laptop and get lots of work done. For some reason, the level of background noise actually helps me concentrate. Not only that, but they have free refills on soft drinks. Interesting trivia about Panera is Atlanta: Panera has a national fountain drink contract with Pepsi. However, the locations in Atlanta have Coke and Diet Coke on the fountain with all of the Pepsi products. Yet another reason to love Atlanta! When it's time for food, you can't go wrong with a bagel. But then again, I might not be the best person to ask because I will eat any bagel any time. But these are particularly good. I would also suggest the soups. My favorite is the Vegetable soup, loaded with vegetables and barley. read more

The whole order flow is confusing. They have separate lunch and breakfast menu in different counters. The menu in the wall doesn't match the to go menu. The menu looks confusing anyway. Customer service sucks. They didn't even ask if I wanted a drink. The food is just like typically American frozen stuff that you can buy from Walmart. Not worth it. read more

I cannot attest to their sandwiches or hot food but their pastries and scones were good. I got 2 blueberry scones, one cinnamon roll and a pecan twist as takeout to bring back to our hotel room after I had a good cup of fresh dark roast. Staff was very business like and would not take to my playful silly questions and statements. .like.."What happens if I dont like the scone?" I was on vacation so I like messing with the counter help. Anyway the scones were big, fresh, triangular and full of blueberries. I was not offered Devonshire but maybe I had to ask? Maybe they were scared to cuz I was being animated..maybe they don't have it. Cinnamon roll was the flat one coiled type (is there a name for that style?) With lots of cinnamon and no raisins. The pecan twist was true pastry dough, flaky with a toasted egg wash glaze. All very good. I love Panera but this location needs oversight. I waited for rapid pick up of an order I placed on line. The young woman filling orders never acknowledged that I was there. When I finally asked, I was told that since I ordered a half dozen bagels along with hot food my order was in bakery. Then the bakery young lady said they had zero, zero, of the three types of bagels I ordered. I ordered plain, sesame, and everything. They had zero of any of the three. Went to Panera for lunch during the week and waited over 30 minutes for my to-go order of cranberry and turkey flatbread and ancient grains salad. I understand it was a busy time, but my flatbread was not made well and only had a dot of cranberry on it. If the quality of the food was better, I would have be okay with the wait. Nice way to spend a Sunday morning. I had a steak,cheese and egg on a poppyseed bagel. It was tasty. I am not a fan of poppyseeds because I got a bunch stuck in my teeth but that's the beauty of life, gotta take the bad with the good.:) The placeis huge and you can stay all day long. Free wifi and fill and refill your drink as many times as you want. I got a lot of work done! I would have given 5 stars but I had mixed feelings watching Carlos who was attending the dining area clearing plates and wiping down tables, sneaking eating food he kept in a cabinet underneath the soda dispenser. I can't help but love Panera, however, the wait time to order your food is sometimes ridiculous. I went in around 3:30 one afternoon, and there was only one person taking orders, with about 12 people waiting in line. There were 6 people working behind the counter and only one helping customers. Very irritating, especially when you have to be somewhere. But! I will continue to come back because I can't resist my broccoli cheddar soup! read more

Edited to add that all of this ended with me having food poisoning, so go here at your own risk! Has been good in the past, but don't call in an order. My husband can in and they assured him that he was picking up the right order that was under my name. Instead of a you pick two, we ended up with bagels for 10 people. When I came back to clear it up, no apology from the manager. She did refund the money for the bagels (how generous!) She had an attitude and gave me my order that was now an hour and a half old! She said it still felt warm to her. This was all after we had spent over half an hour driving back and forth to fix their mistake (bc believe me, my husband knew I didn't order bagels for lunch and had told them it was the wrong order. I'm a big fan of panera and would love to give this particular store higher marks. BUT the mistakes are adding up. I'm usually in the happy hour or late Sunday afternoon crowd where they're busier than the staff seems to be able to comfortably handle. The quality is always there, but the small errors are getting to be annoying. I can't remember the last time they got my apple/chips/baguette order correct. I've spent too many times back at the pick up counter asking for the dressing or shrimp that should have come with my salad or a fork. This is NOT a review of the food, but of the experience. I placed an order 4 HOURS IN ADVANCE for my family for Valentine's Day to ensure that they were able to get what they wanted because the store's running out of something has happened to us multiple times in the past. Guess what? They didn't. I received the phone call that the order was inaccurate AS THEY WERE PICKING IT UP!!!  Had they not already been there to pick it up when I received the call that the store ran out of bread bowls, I would have cancelled the whole order! I told the guy on the phone that I placed this order 4 hours in advance and he was like "Oh well. It happens." I told him I wanted to cancel the order and go somewhere that has what they want. He told me they were already there picking it up. Why didn't I get notified prior so I had another option? How can you be Panera BREAD, when you run out of BREAD?! When my family picked it up and spoke to the staff about it, they said the people behind the counter acted like they couldn't care less. I went yesterday for dinner and was very pleased with my experience. The lady taking my order was training, but there was a staff memeber standing right beside her to help so I didn't feel like anything was dragging or being done incorrectly. The only thing I would criticise about the ordering process was where they took my order. After 11 they should take my order at the station by the lunch menu, but instead they took my order by the bakery so I couldn't really see the menu. I ordered the "pick two" and a large salad (I was getting a to do order for me and my bf). I did not order avocado on my salad because I didn't want to pay extra, but when I was waiting for my meal I was having a nice converstation with the great employees behind the counter and they offered me a few pieces of avocado on my salad! They should take your order in front of the menu. Not at the pastry shelf that I'm not interested nor where I can see the menu clearly. Ordered Sierra turkey and broccoli cheddar u pick 2. Sierra turkey came on the wrong bread. Only reason I get the sandwich is for that bread honestly. Broccoli cheddar soup came luke warm and with a roll, not a french baguette. They failed to mention that they were out of baguettes as well. On the way out I hear two employees companion about how they hate when customers order something and then say they didn't order that and on and on until the door shut. 2 stars is nice for 10 dollars of unenjoyable food. lack of communication and then openly talking about employees is just not a professional work environment. Visited this location after placing my order over the phone, BIG MISTAKE! I was given the wrong order and the lady beyond the counter gave me attitude about changing it. Unfortunately, the service at this location has declined dramatically over the past few years. I recently made an order online "rapid pickup" and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I waited for over 30 minutes for my order and when I finally received it, I took it him and the soup was cold and I got the wrong sandwich. I ordered soup and mac-n-cheese. It was around 6:00 PM. They were out of the bread they usually include with such orders. I was not offered a substitute for the missing bread. How can a place have bread in the name and not have bread? I would give this place one star, but the next time I came in and ordered two pastries, they only charged me for one. Although this was accidental on their part, it made up for the missing bread on the previous visit. Also, I have ordered takeout online to pick up and both times I had to stand in line to report that the order in the bag at the pick-up was wrong. I am definitely a fan on Panera. I love their bagels...Cinnamon Crunch is my fav. I eat there for lunch mostly, and love their Pick Two option, although sometimes I just go for a bowl of soup. The Broccoli Cheddar and Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice are great comfort foods. The Chicken Noodle is a tasty lighter option. The paninis are filling and you can order any of their sandwiches hot--even those in the cold sandwich category. The salads are good, too. You can't go wrong at this Panera location. read more

I always love their Chocolate Chipper Cookie especially with a large sweet tea. I tend to get the Choose Two because I always want a little bit of everything. I love Panera, and I am a big fan of rapid pick-up. However, I have not had good experiences at this location. On two different occasions, my order was not ready at the specified pick-up time. The first time they gave no explanation and just asked me to wait. The most recent time, I waited patiently when I didn't see my bag on the shelf. After ten minutes, I went to the register (there was no one in line). The employee asked my name and then handed me a bag that had been sitting next to the register the whole time. I asked why it wasn't on the shelf, and he said because "They have to check it first and then put it on the shelf." When I said I had been waiting for ten minutes, he said I should have come to the register and asked for my order. NO - you should have put it on the shelf marked "Rapid Pick-up." Don't blame a customer for someone not doing their job. I got home to find my son's yogurt was missing from the order. So, I guess they had not checked the bag. read more

I usually order from this Panera location online using the "Rapid Order" function and I'm always disappointed. Yesterday, 12/14/2016, I ordered a spinach and cheese souffle and a yogurt parfait at 9:35 am. I waited twenty minutes to leave my office to pick up my food because I know that despite what the online guarantee says (all items ordered for rapid order will be ready in 10 minutes), it's usually never ready for me on time at this location. Buy the time I got to the restaurant to pick up my order (at 9:55 am) I was informed that it would take another 15 minutes for my souffle to be ready. WHAT? So that would total my full wait time to 35 minutes for a souffle and a parfait. I was so disgusted and even though everyone profusely apologized i explained to them I don't have time to wait 15 additional minutes for my RAPID order and I told them I wanted an egg and cheese on ciabatta as a substitute. I'm so disappointed with the service at this location. And to top it off, the store isn't the cleanest. The bathrooms are disgusting and the tables are never cleaned. Do better Panera. read more
