There' a big city homeless shelter and apparently the residents have an alternate assembly point..this Panera.they caused no scene, paid for what they ordered..from panhandling across the parking lot,; but did camp out in the restrooms and slept sprawled in a booth or 2. Talked to manager on busy rainy thurs afternoon, she was apathetic to the situation.. food was typical Panera ( no complaints)..service slower, but hey..they were busy. But the chap saying logs in the booth beside us detracted from the tuna sandwich and half bowl of soup. read more

The first and last time I went here -- I asked the lady behind the counter for a cheese bagel-- She was busy picking up the garbage pail with her gloved hands. Worst experience! The music is so loud, you can't hear each other with masks on. Then our cashier took our order, never went over our order with us, and told us we could pick up our receipt with our food. We finally get our food after standing there for over 10 minutes. The order was wrong. They gave us an extra half sandwich and not a half salad we ordered. We explained that she never gave us a receipt to check over our order. They told us we would have to go back and reorder what was missing and take off the extra sandwich on the credit card. So, we go do that. Then as we are waiting even more time for them to get a half salad to us, the cashier comes up to let us know that she gave us back the sandwich on our credit card but never charged us for the salad. So, now we have to go back a third time to ring it all up. I was shocked. So incompetent there. The manager was standing right there too. And instead of saying sorry and we will give you a half salad free of charge because it was their fault, we have to go through that whole circus. And we are the ones in the end that have to pay for their mistake with cash and our extra time that we didn't have. My family won't be going back again and I won't recommend this Panera to anyone. I wouldn't have been so negative about the whole experience except they have issues with our order EVERY TIME we go. We've just had enough of it and I can't give them my business anymore. This place is so gross, we are never coming back. All the tables were dirty! Every customer that came, while we were seating down, had to wipe their own table.There are dirty napkins under our table and all over the floor. I'm sitting in the store while writing this review. Normally, I would love to give this place 5 stars. However... Panera stop selling their best sandwich! The chipotle sandwich was so amazing, because of health or preservative issues they gave it up? Why not find a better substitute then that taste the same? Oh well. My cashier, Albert, was fantastic he recommended the frontega chicken panini... Though it was no chipotle sandwich I could see some of the relativity between them. It was good. The first thing I notice about a restaurant is the customer service. I love Panera, but here, the customer service was poor. Firstly, as I was ordering, the cashier was not very friendly and cut me off a few times. As I waited for my food, I didn't hear my name. When I heard other names they were very faint. So your food could be sitting there cold with no one caring if you heard it or not. Once I walked up and grabbed my food, I got to my car to realize they didn't put a spoon in and gave me bread instead of the chips I order. This was a simple and careless mistake. But when I went back and asked for one, this blonde lady just grabbed the spoon and chips, dropped it in my bag, with no words or acknowledgement of their mistake. She just proceeded to the next customer. Like I said, Panera is great but this location needs to work on their customer service because it's not good at all. read more

This Panera is a spacious location and it is perfect for meeting for a study group or informal work meeting. I went there to read and get dinner and enjoyed the free wi-fi and quiet atmosphere. This Panera has one of the better set-ups I've seen. Panera's fountain machines and self-pour coffee makes it a superior study locale than a typical Starbucks. I tried a new sandwich today, the Chicken Bacon Dijon, and enjoyed it immensely. It seems that they use lemon and orange zest on this sandwich which makes it that much more unusually standout. From the time I ordered to the time I grabbed my meal I'd say a whole minute expired. For lovers of Corner Bakery, please explain to me why it takes them so much longer to serve your food to you? As I've said before, I think Panera offers a value that is difficult to match and it makes me literally dumbfounded to see how much more popular Cosi is in the area. read more

I was handed a coffee mug with dried lettuce caked on the inside. I asked for a second mug and it had a rim of dried coffee on the inside. Asked for a third mug and it was finally clean. No apology. I used to frequent Panera Bread but was not overly impressed with the service provided by the staff. I enjoy their cappuccino but that's it. Prices are way too high and the service is poor. If you are looking for the freshness, this is not the place for you. They store breads from the day before when they say they donate their leftover breads to the local communities which I say is NOT true. They do store their breads for the next day as I always always never get fresh sandwiches *please note that I do come here on a weekly basis*... and unfortunately, I am closer to this instead of the one on Duke Street. I was SOOO hungry when I stopped in recently for a bite and a drink; since Panera (as a chain) has always been one of my fav's, I figured this would be a winner. NO GO!! For starters, NONE of the (seemingly) fresh items were in their properly labeled places - not evenly remotely. Since I know that muffins don't look like flat cookies, not much of an issue for me (just laziness on their part). But, things did get MUCH worse when I watched the server get ready to prepare a drink. The container that held the drink mixture was disgustingly cloudy and ratchet. I don't know if it was dirty; extremely old and 'scratchy' from repeated use; or WHAT. But it was repulsive enough to turn my stomach. The floor leading into the kitchen area wasn't particularly clean either so all things considered, I just nicely asked for a refund and left. I didn't want to hurt the server's feelings so pretended I changed my mind :) It changed alright... Panera takes in enough $$ to keep its materials in MUCH better condition. I go to this Panera at least a couple of times a week and I always have an awesome experience. Joe, the manager, runs a great and clean business and has wonderful employees. Everybody is always friendly, especially Albert, who always asks me about the book that I am currently reading. It is dumb to write a review complaining about how busy it is during lunchtime or the weekend. Well, duh, every food place that people like is going to be busy at a meal time! What sets this Panera apart is how they handle the rush. Even with a half hour break, I am always able to place my order and get my food in plenty of time to eat and enjoy my break. read more

It seems like in all the paneras the women are all happy and the men are all hungover. This one especially is true. Plus this one has sketchy men customers that hang around, leering at you. It's not in a bad area, so IDK why. I like to drink my tea and use my laptop and relax, and the outlet did not work. Sad. After drinking, I went to use the bathroom, and the smell made me want to rip my nose off. It was STRONG.I have use public bathrooms all over, and none nearly knocked me out. my co-workers and I went during lunch time, service was quick but the man who prepares the food (no name tag) i'm guessing from Morocco was very rude to us gave us dirty forks and we politely asked him to change it for us, he acted like he didn't hear us, we asked again and he gave us dirty looks, said something under his breath and threw the forks on the counter. we've had problems with him before but we just assumed he had a bad day but it looks like he's just rude and nasty. we hope management have a talk with him about customer service or don't put him during lunch hours. will get his name and report it to management, we will not go there again thank God for La Madeleine and Moe's. read more

I don't have a particular problem with this location, the parking isn't the best mostly because there is no crosswalk for the 4 lanes to a major road, but otherwise, no different than any other Panera Bread. My only complaint is with the service I recevied from the cashier today. Fatima was very unpleasant to the point it would bring someone's day down with hers. She does not present a smile or any welcoming into the store. She sat at the register and just looked at patrons. After she did not ask me to walk to her cash register, I just went myself to be faced with the same blank face. So gave her a kind smile and a good morning and ordered. She did not repeat my order, only asked me to repeat if it was here or to go. Then leaving, she did not say thank you for your order, good bye, or anything. She looked down and handed me my receipt and returned to her blank stare at patrons. Please retrain or release her. She obviously does not like to work with customers and a morning shift is not for her. I have never written a bad review about a particular person but this needs to be resolved. read more

This has to be one of the worst Panera Bread locations in the chain. I went in there a few weeks ago and the front door was so filthy, looks like it had not been cleaned in days. They guy who took my order was slow and acted like he was not happy being there - no smile, no hello, no enthusiasm at all. Then 3 of the coffee carafes were empty. I asked for dark roast and the guy looked at me with a blank stare and walked inthe back. Then a girl came out and I had to ask her also. I told her the counter where the coffee was was filthy - it had crumbs, coffee splashed all over, sugar and creamer. She got my coffee, then moved all the stuff to one side on the counter and wiped across it one time with a napkin, just smearing what was there. Then she walked away. This is bad CUSTOMER service. I don't blame the employees, I blame the management for throwing these people out there with out training them and teaching them about the Customer Service Experience.
