Green Goddess Caprese "sandwich" gets the Taco Bell effect spreading to Panera. Where are the ingredients?
    Kobe G.

Service is nice, people are kind. Never been inside so unsure about the ambiance and how it feels ordering inside. Issues mainly with the food. Don't get bagels sliced there if you want to toast yourself. Double check if you ask for unsliced, they may do the slicing for you. The slicing is really poorly done and you have to butcher your bagel to get it to fit properly in the toaster. First time ordering a dinner sandwich from this new location. Didn't feel like meat, so I ordered the green goddess caprese as I thought that would be great. However, the Taco Bell effect was strong. My sandwich barely had any cheese, greens, tomatoes. You know, the ingredients? This is happening at so many places and the food prices only go up. When are we going to stop buying?

Omg so many thoughts on this experience…read more I'm so glad i didn't immediately know it was a restaurant located in a hotel. This prob would have deterred me, even a little bit. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! I went on a Sunday morning and lo and behold there was a hole farmers market or pop up set up all through haymarket! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! We sat down and enjoyed plenty of conversation and a really nice environment. Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town. It was the perfect brunch spot for a low-key, but delicious meal. Just a hair out of the way without being too far. I came out with a really good friend of mine to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with her and it was the perfect possible location. Shout out to the staff for being so welcoming and kind, and even taking a picture of us when we asked to commemorate the occasion. I'm sure they are used to people walking in to the hotel lobby looking as confused as I was looking for red House Tavern.

Not the best experience for brunch. The waitress was unenthusiastic and came back to the table…read moremultiple times to let us know they were out of items including: the juice that came with the mimosa flight after we ordered it, another bottle of champagne for anyone else who wanted mimosas, (so mimosas overall, lol), the avocado toast, the poutine and another key ingredient in a cocktail we ordered. The food was average at best when it came out. Super disappointed. We came here for my mom's 5 year beating cancer anniversary and it wasn't much of a celebration.

Had a Reuben, with deviled egg flight, an Eggenberger, followed by an Alchemy Focal Banger. Nice place to sit at the bar or a table. Good free music play lists on tap too.

I don't usually write reviews the same day, but this was something unique. Let me first say there…read moreare not any fun and well done gastropubs in Gainesville, and this restaurant certainly stands to prove that point. Stereotypical decor and menu, Grains and Grog stood painfully empty on a Saturday afternoon playing music nostalgic to anyone who graduated high school before 2010. I ordered a Manhattan. Hallway through, looking down at the bottom of the glass, I saw two tiny flies floating at the bottom. As disgusted as one can reasonably be, I asked for another one to be made (why I bothered, I can't say. Maybe it was because I had already drank half). I found another small fly in the second before the server left the table. Another fly in the third as well. We didn't finish our meals for obvious reasons. They brought us the check, discounted the manhattans and 50% the check, though I didn't feel I should have paid anything. After paying the check, they said it was a mistake. They brought us the wrong one and would void the sale. The "correct" check they brought us was the full meal sans the 3 botched manhattans. We won't be going back

The wife and I went into this place on a whim, and the service and the food blew us away…read more Hamid was extremely courteous and even suggested that I don't order the burger along with my plate because it'll be too much food. And he was right, I couldn't even finish my plate. The portions are huge, the food is delicious, and the staff is great. They offer outdoor seating as well, which creates a really nice atmosphere for eating such great food. Hamid was so kind to us when he heard we were fasting that he brought a selection of vegetables and peta bread with some dips while we waited for our food. Then, he also gave us free saffron vanilla twist ice cream which tasted unique and very fulfilling. Overall the experience was way better than we'd expect to get from anywhere in Northern Virginia.

I've been to Chelo Kitchen twice now…read more.. They market themselves as "Mediterranean," so what did I do? The first time visiting - I ordered non-Mediterranean menu items: A double Char Cheese Burger and fries - to go. I got the food home - the burger was enormous. However, the burger meat was in dire need of seasoning - at least some salt and pepper would have been nice. And the French fries were not as crisp as I would have liked. If I was basing this review solely on the first visit - it would have been a 3 star review. However, I waited to go back and experience the menu items in their "wheelhouse." I ordered the Falafel, an order of the Red Lentil Soup, a Ground Beef and Chicken Kabob plate, and a Steak Shish Kabob plate - all to go. The food came up in about 15 minutes. All of the food was very good. The Falafel was crispy and tasty; the Red Lentil soup was comforting, and the Kabobs were tender and delicious. You get a whole roasted Jalapeño and tomato with the Kabob dishes - along with Saffron rice. I also got some dipping sides, included a Mango-based sauce, a cucumber-yogurt sauce, and a spicy red sauce. I enjoyed the cucumber-yogurt and spicy red sauces to dip in - was not a fan of the Mango. There are several tables to eat in, During my first visit they had the front door propped open - and it was so hot inside as to be disgusting. It was like a sauna in there. No way I was eating in - in those temps. Not sure if their AC was not working or what. The second time I visited - door was once again propped open and it was more bearable temp-wise inside. Paid with Apple Pay. #CheloKitchen
