My aunt and I stopped by this place for lunch on a Wednesday and boy, was it super crowded! The line got even longer when we were eating since it was around noon time and you can tell that all the people are employees from nearby businesses on their lunch break. I got a panini and my aunt got a salad and we were able to easily get a booth. The food didn't take long to make because all the employees were working hard. My panini was decent and nothing too spectacular, same quality as other Panera locations that I have eaten at. Besides local employees eating here, I also notice students were eating and studying here. It does get loud during peak hours so I wouldn't suggest studying here (they do have wifi) unless you don't mind the loud background noises. read more

The cashiers here have no sense of people's time. They take forever to ring in your order, mumble so bad that you can't even understand what they are asking you, when they repeat it back you have no clue whether they got it correct or not. The same two people are always working, and have been here for some time so should be much more efficient in performing basic tasks. The floor is a mess, like it hasn't been swept since the day before, the soda machine was out of syrup, and there were not any napkins at the station. Also any time you request to customize the order they get it wrong even though it is printed correctly on the receipt. This location really needs help! read more

I've never had a problem with panera, but tonight the quality just wasn't there and it was extremely disappointing. Cashier service was great, but I ordered soup and it was cold. I ate in the restaurant so that really shouldn't have been a problem. I overheard many other people go up to the counter with similar complaints. All Paneras are basically the same, right? Well I will say the frozen soups and cold-cut sandwiches are as good here as any other Panera. However this one handles the lunch crowd very well. We had a lunch catered today and it was awesome! The manager convinced us to order a pasta salad with our order and it was one of the most delicious pasta salads that I have had in a while. The catering was quick, fast, organized and yummy. The customer service was excellent and the prices were adorable for big groups. Great idea for a quick lunch option for large groups. read more

I know Panera is a chain and has a TON of locations around the Chicagoland area. But I really like this particular store. We usually hit this place after taking a walk at Fullersburg/Old Graue Mill along Salt Creek in Oak Brook on the weekends. The service has always been good, typical nice relaxing atmosphere Panera is known for and they always get our orders right. I've been here to eat with no problems, but trying to pick up a catering order turned into a mess! I arrived at 7:35am on a weekday, and the line was nearly out the door. I waited just under ten minutes, only to be told that I needed to pick up my catering order at another counter (that wasn't marked, "Catering"). Upon walking over, the woman at the counter walked away, and finally after another five minutes, she came over....only to say she didn't know where my order was. Sandwich: small heals of the expired loaf in back. A slider from White Castle was bigger. When asked the cashier to split a large Mac and cheese in two for my kids, he argued to buy two individual. If you think 1/2 a sandwich for $5 is a good deal, this is the place for you. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on sourdough for rapid pickup. Staff was helpful and friendly, food is delicious, I would have enjoyed the missing half of my sandwich though! It was literally one, embarrassingly thin piece of sourdough cut half, thus creating the top and bottom of the sandwich. The avocado was beyond sparse, too. I ordered the 2 item combo which ended up being $9.40. It was about $4.40 more than it was worth. I chose the chicken noodle soup and turkey flatbread with a side of chips. The chicken noodle soup had about 6 noodles and 1 piece of chicken, the broth was saltier than I would like and not at all satisfying. The turkey flatbread was disappointing, I should have gone to Penn Station for sandwiches instead. I snuck a piece of my friends wild blueberry scone which was decent albeit a little dry. The broccoli cheddar soup looked heavy on the cheddar and easy on the broccoli. The salads looked equally pitiful. The apple chicken salad came with apple chips. The management is absolutely HORRENDOUS and they do a very bad job at making sure their customers and employees are well taken care of. Compared to the other Panera Bread locations, they are just OK. Nothing more, nothing less. Excellent kale salad and cinnamon rolls. The bread that comes with the salad is hard as a rock! I would not recommend getting the bread if your teeth is weak or if you have dentures. They are stingy with the portions compare to the other locations, but my order is correct each and every time. I appreciate a correct order. It is rare these days, lol. The customer service is just ok. If you want to avoid the long lines and long wait, order online and do the rapid pick up. Whoever made that idea was a genius. But I must say be VERY CAREFUL with the online ordering. The last time I placed an order with them, they charged my debit card twice. I like Panera, they have good quality ingredients. The bread is fresh and the sandwiches are a welcome change from McDonald's or dunkin donuts. If your reading this Panera, a critic I have is that your beagles need to have the ingredients put within the beagles as well as a topping. I got a everything beagle, the top was great but the bottom was bland. I got the same beagle at another place and the flavor went all through the whole beagle. The only negative thing I can say about this location is that they really should pay more attention to cleanliness. I work across the street and order a salad or sandwich on a regular basis. I often order adjustments and they are always perfectly executed. The food is delicious. I love the pick up/pay in advance option and it is always ready for me when I arrive. The employees are incredibly friendly. When I eat in, the food arrives quickly. I just used their delivery service for the first time. It was great! The driver was so friendly and was quick getting here. After I ordered the manager calls, some of the bakery items I ordered they were out of. So was so apologetic. She offered me substitutes and was way beyond generous with what she gave me. My day, and possibly the day of many others was ruined explicitly because of this Panera. I went there and ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich and a cup of french onion soup, not the pick two, I was hungry. I got the order to go and they quickly made my items and I left. When I got back to job at at the exotic pet dealership I realized that they forgot to put bacon on my sandwich, despite it being IN THE NAME of the item. First, I collapsed with sadness, sprawled on the floor sobbing.... but soon my sadness became anger. I began to destroy everything in sight, including all the aquariums where we keep the dangerous snakes (cobras, boa constrictors, etc.). Though the snakes were initially very frightened, they soon saw their chance at freedom and escaped out the back door, hissing loudly. Now, frightened venomous snakes are very dangerous, so I ran out to try to collect them as quickly as possible, but many had already went into the forest behind our place of business or into the sewer where they will most likely continue to grow to enormous sizes. Because the snakes had already disappeared and I knew I could not catch them, I had to quickly find a way to remedy the situation.... Being the quick thinker that I am, I decided that I must release some of the alligators into the sewer to kill the snakes that I had accidentally released. So I walk back into the pet shop and, during my fit of rage, I unhinged the door to the big cat and ape cages. So there are 3 mountain lions running out from the front door onto butterfield road, dodging traffic while terrified orangutans (or what was left of them after the lions had their way with them) were running out the back after the snakes. Keep in mind that all of these animals are dangerous to humans, especially when frightened. So long story short, I lost about 30 venomous snakes in the sewer, 3 mountain lions are loose in the western suburbs, and a gang of orangutans is out there whipping feces at innocent passers by, all because I didn't get bacon on my Turkey BACON avocado sandwich. Thanks Panera, you made me lose thousands of dollars worth of exotic animals and endanger pretty much everyone in 10 mile radius of this store. I at least got about 12 alligators into the sewer so I think the snakes are going to be taken care of. But the orangutans and mountain lions? Lord know what happened to them..... read more

If the Hispanic staff ISN'T working the food area then you are pretty much screwed. They have a bunch of college age guys working there as well and they are SO slow. This one guy Alex took 15min to prepare my breakfast sandwich. They have no sense of urgency. They just talk and look around and seem dazed and confused. Average Panera in a strip mall. Busy, sometimes chaotic, but standard Panera fare (which is good, simple, and well-made). For a quick meeting, get-together, sit-down lunch, etc. this Panera is pretty good. because it's often busy, the floor usually looks unvacuumed, the tables aren't bussed as fast as they should be, and the staff isn't as attentive to things like making sure the coffee is full and fresh. Ordered a bagel to go twice here - first time I got the wrong cream cheese flavor but fine whatever, someone just grabbed the wrong one and threw it in the bag. The second time when I got home, I opened the bag and both halves of the bagel were burnt to a crisp. I always get chai tea lattes from Panera. This location does not know how to make any of their drinks or sandwiches, frankly. After spending 20 minutes of attempting to have the barista remake the horrible drinks, I had to leave. Drinks were still horrible. Attempted to escalate this to the manager, Bill, who insisted they were fine because they're made the "usual" way and stated he can't offer a refund.
