Was in a pinch for delivering lunch to a client's office and forgot to order ahead of time. Tried several other places in the area and couldn't even get the catering departments to pick up the phone. Even though the website says 24 hour notice the people at Panera not only picked up the phone, but they also were kind, gracious, attentive, and most importantly, were able to do a catering order with a half-hour notice. This Panera is beyond fantastic!!! It doesn't matter what time of day I come, or what day I come. I can always count on very friendly, kind, attentive servers and management. They go out of their way to stop by nicely, without being intrusive or pushy and check in that everything is okay. For anyone looking for a great non-office environment to do their work or study, you know how important this is - they never make you feel like you are taking up a table, they don't hover or make you uncomfortable even if you've been working for hours.This place has become my go-to place to do work when trying to get away from my home or office. And yes, the Wi-Fi is free and does not have time limits (like other places). The environment has a good white noise level / expected amount of restaurant noise, but I wouldn't call it noisy. While I am unable to eat much of the menu (due to my own ridiculous allergies), they are super-accommodating to my admittedly complicated food requests with lots of substitutions, I do enjoy what I can order, and again, they are extremely gracious about making any needed changes. When there has been any problems with my food or order they take care of it quickly and with a smile. For those of you who are gluten free - they do have good breakfast, soup and salad choices, so even though it's a bakery, you'll do fine. I am absolutely impressed at the quality management and people at this location. I've been coming for many months now, and initially I assumed their great customer service was just a fluke of it being a new store, but they have maintained a great commitment to customer service (in all aspects - service of course it the best, but also their attention to making the food, the cleanliness of the store is still great). Oh, and I particularly love that they generally take notice if the order line is getting long and immediately someone steps in at another cash register to help out (including managers) - so in general, the wait to place an order, even when busy, is never really long. This is unusual for me to take time and comment about a chain restaurant, but, as they just took care of a small food issue with grace, speed and politeness, I just had to take a break from my work to say something. And no, I have zero affiliation with Panera, I am just someone who needs a place to work that isn't an office, and I hate fighting for a spot at coffee bean with their limited-time wifi, I find starbucks too noisy, I don't enjoy working out of mcdonalds, and this has been the best place I've found yet - oh, did I mention that there are a fair number of tables that have outlets? read more

Worse Panera I've been too. Ordered the Lentil Quinoa Chicken Bowl. When it got to me there was three tiny pieces of chicken. Paid $8.99 for it and was practically nothing in the bowl. Not a fan of Panera to begin with and that sealed the deal. Will never eat there again. read more

What a great experience we had last night. My husband and I went 20 minutes before they closed. Most places would be very irritated that you came while trying to close up. Not here. Alandra was at the register was very fun made our experience great and took her order without any hesitation. Even though they were out of a lot of items which is probably a good at the end of the night. manager Tiffany came over and gave us other options, and told us some of her favorite it's on the menu. Luis who made the sandwiches was great also. Always had a smile on and was ready to help in anyway possible. The gentleman who delivered out food was also great. It's Panera, so the fare is pretty standard. I really didn't appreciate watching 5 employees do everything but take orders, looking at me standing at the register, at 7:30 am on a Friday. And! When I asked if I could place my order because why was no one at the register (was I in the wrong?) I was told to wait because they were making espresso. It's not the worst thing in the world, but c'mon, not a single person could handle the register while he rest was going on? This Panera does this all the time! Paneras is a good and convenient spot to eat. But this particular location takes away from the enjoyment of a feel good meal. I've been here a few times and the place has been dirty every single time. Can't understand why. I come to eat at this panera a lot seeing as I work across the street Manny usually greets me and makes my experience awesome by telling me what I should order or what he likes he got me addicted to the turkey blt. Tonight I didn't get greeted by manny but by another cashier wasn't impressed with her, my dad had gotten an email saying he got a rewards so I asked her and she said it probably wasn't valid yet instead of taking a couple seconds to check. Well while trying to check my dads email and having no luck I see manny sitting enjoying his lunch, I ask him if there's any way to check if we have a reward without hesitation he gets up and checks for me. BY FAR THE WORST PANERA IVE EVER BEEN TOO. I wouldn't give them even one star if I could. I've gone to this location many times and they ALWAYS get my order wrong. The manager Tiffany is so rude and I'm confused that a large company like PANERA would ever hire someone like that. I've even heard her be rude to her staff which probably explains why orders always come out wrong. I also dealt with another manager names Travis who had a rude sarcasm to him. I will never go to this PANERA again unless they aren't the ones managing it. I've been eating at Panera Bread for about 3 years now. The food is pretty decent. Nothing to write home about. What I don't like is that they change their pastas too often and you can't get the one that you used to like. Now about this location in Encino, the people that work there are very unpfofessional and un-friendly at times. They don't say much at all. Sometimes they seem like zombies. I met a friend here for breakfast a few days ago. Very quiet at 9:30 am on a Friday. After waiting 20 mins, had to hunt down our coffee order. Rather than trash on the horrible attitude and customer service displayed by the manager, I'll just say the quiche is good. I'm sure the manager's days are numbered. I guess this has more to do with Panera as a company and not just one location. I'm disappointed in some choices they made. I'm from Michigan now in LA almost 4 years. In Michigan I could buy a regular pound loaf of French bread. Where I now go in Encino, CA they only sell 2 lb loaves of French bread that cost $8. Or baguette. I like it for sandwiches so prefer the regular loaf. Yeah you can freeze the remainder, but why can't they offer a regular size? Am also disappointed that when I get soup as a carry out they only have a "cup" size and not a bowl. They sell "group soup" in a larger container. Right. It would feed a group of maybe 1 1/2. Why can't I but a bowl size to take home? And half the time the cup size they give you they don't completely fill. Last but not least, why in Gods name did they change the chicken soup recipe they had - with those great German egg noodles. The one they have now is so lame it coulda come out of a can. And their other soups are so great. And anyway, I learned how to make their potato soup- which is the best in the planet. So now I don't need their puny container. So there. read more

Really nice staff and the place is very clean. The portion sizes for salad are slightly smaller than other Paneras. Great parking in the back and the rest of the menu is generally very good. Free wifi and the super staff are the reasons I often return. So much nicer than a loud coffe shop and the coffee is excellent. read more

This place is great. We go there at least two times a week. The pastries are amazing and their soufflés are wonderful and so yummy. The bagels are great as well and very fresh. I have to say my experience was great and we are consistent customers. My husband and I, and my girlfriend and I go to this place a lot. Sometimes the line is a little long in the mornings, but that is to be expected. People have to be patient because everyone is trying to get to work. I like the atmosphere. You can do your own thing and you have free Wi-Fi. It is not as crowded as Stabucks or other coffee places and you can sit and read without interruptions. I am very glad they opened this location. Never again! Unprofessional, slow. I placed two orders on line for pick up. Bottom line - they didn't get the order, couldn't figure out the computer issues and said they couldn't help me and didn't make any effort to pull together food. Their capacity is limited and their efforts towards customer service even less so. I drove away after having paid for orders that were never filled looking for a place to get dinner. I still have not been issued a credit for the charges for food that was never received. read more

By God, let me tell you, I have walked into some Paneras in my day, but this one, by far takes the cake. I mean there were smiles, there was joy, there was even laughter LAUGHTER! At 9:30 in the morning. Shoot I wasn't sure whether or not I was in a Panera or one of them comedian places. They made me feel as if I've been goin there since before I knew what goin there meant. I was waiting in line, and this one girl (I think her name was Rose, or Rosa...I don't know. She was Mexican) anyway, she gave me a smile so big and cute I almost made my wife wait in the car so I can introduce myself (but I didn't, cause I'm a Christian man and that's downright sinful). So we get up to the counter and this pleasant woman by the name of Ann Marie takes our order and she is just all smiles and I look around and what do you know, the whole staff is all smiles. Hell it looked so nice to work there I almost picked up an application myself. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much my wife and I appreciated their hospitality and I hope you corporate folk treat them right cause they deserve it.
