Coral tree Cafe is a gorgeous restaurant. I love to come here and grab a small bite to eat, an espresso drink, and just relax and read in the gorgeous interior. Every time I've stopped by the staff have been very friendly and helpful. Their lattes are good and they have a delightful assortment of pastries. I've tried their avacado toast however and I don't think it's quite worth the price and some of their items do seem to cost more than they are worth. Their drinks however are always delightful. While the price might not make this a regular place I visit I know if I'm in the mood for a quaint place to relax Coral Tree is definitely on my list of places to stop by. read more

The Brentwood location serves the best food and matcha. This location on Ventura in Encino has consistently been inconsistent with flavor across the board. It's okay some days and bad other days. I enjoyed the food I received, but I would not say most of it stood out to me in any particular way. The breakfast potatoes were definitely my favorite part, and probably the main item I would come back for. However, the avocado toast, I thought, was WAY too lemony. That being said, the staff here is very nice and helpful, especially the bus boys. The ambiance here was nice as well. It was very laid back and calm with only a moderate noise level. I was looking for a cafe for a quick and satisfying lunch in the SFV and came across Coral Tree Cafe. They have several locations throughout the Los Angeles area and I remembered being in one decades ago. It was late in the day on a Friday afternoon so it was relatively quiet with a nice "woodsy" ambience at this Encino location. You order at the counter from an extensive menu. I decided on their Turkey Melt Panini which came with a mixed green salad. Their iced tea flavors were passion fruit or hibiscus with free refills. Overall, the food was well prepared and service was good. I suspect they do a busy brunch service on the weekend which can get hectic. Parking is limited as they share the lot largely with a Persian grocery store and other small businesses. For a quick delicious lunch during the week, though, Coral Tree Cafe doesn't disappoint. read more

Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs; we ordered the steak panini, tuna melt, arriabata penne pasta with chicken and a slice of chocolate cake. The steak panini was good but could've had more filling to be honest. Whether a little more steak or maybe some veggies like arugula or something. The tuna melt was good but also felt like it was missing something. Their fries were super crispy and fluffy on the inside but lacked salt. Easy fix but kind of wished they'd been salted/seasoned. The pasta was absolutely delicious! The chicken is shredded so mixed well in to the dish. Met up with some friends for breakfast for our annual gift exchange. It was our first time at Coral Tree. The other patrons were mostly elderly or families with kids. We were sat in the back room even though there was plenty of seating in the front room. I found that interesting. The food, in general, was mediocre. My son ordered the Montecristo and didn't like it so he didn't finish it. He said it was lacking flavor. My husband and I ordered the protein power sandwich (egg whites, spinach, turkey bacon, etc). There was potential there, but we also weren't big fans. The coffee was also mid but at least they were great with refilling the tiny mug they serve it in. The service was ok. Whether it's my usual side salad or my Avocado toast everything is delicious and made to order. Cute little spot, nice and intimate. Yaretzi always takes my order and makes sure everything is promptly out and correct. She's always smiling no matter how busy it is Brenda is awesome, even with just a simple order she's always back there checking to make sure it's up and being prepared quickly as I work across the street. Ricky is the absolute best! Always helpful, always saying hello, makes sure I have utensils, dressing or anything extra I need. Always nothing but A+ service! I also respect Ricky for speaking up to customers who don't follow the rules and bring in their dogs! I have been seeing this place on my Seed Oil Scout app where it has a green star - which indicates that there are no seed oils on the premises. My husband and I finally went last night and we were both sorely disappointed. Upon getting our food I asked the server what oils they used she said that they use all avocado oil except in the fryer - where they use canola oil. My sandwich was probably the worst sandwich I have ever had. I didn't even bother trying the salad after hearing her response - the lettuce was clearly from a bag, that generic garden greens mix. They love to use the words organic and claim they source the "freshest, highest quality produce" in their menu but after seeing and taking bites of their food that can't be and isn't possible. The bread my sandwich was on was clearly frozen, the turkey was mushy, and the prices are outrageous for what you get. Maybe their breakfast is better, I don't know. But, I certainly will never ever go there again. Save your money. Side note: the Seed Oil Scout app is a complete joke. It was my first time going and I wasn't familiar with the menu or if they bring the food, etc. and they were able to assist. The inside of the restaurant has a forest feel to it and I love it. I ordered the Mediterranean toast and the Staples drink with oranges. It was delicious and I would recommend it 10/10. The serving size is just enough to not feel too heavy after breakfast. So I have been here a few times now because I absolutely love the inside of this place. The high ceiling, the decor, the vibe of the separate rooms to sit. It's just absolutely lovely in here and the first time I walked in, I knew I would be back. However, there are issues. The avocado toast was just bad. No seasoning but somehow drowning in lemon? It was very odd tasting and mind you extremely expensive. I'm actually on the hunt for the best avocado toast in the valley and it ranked last place. The pastries are great; I loved the tart and thought it looked lovely. The coffee is pretty decent as well. The place is unfortunately kind of sweaty? I think a colder temperature would be amazing here. Going here while it's been boiling outside, you do not walk in and go "ahhhh yes" you go "hmmm why is it warm in here?" I do wonder if something was wrong with the ac the few times I went. The staff is super nice. I wish I knew the name of the older possibly Latina woman because she was extremely kind and welcoming and left an amazing impression the first time I came. So yeah. It was my first and likely last visit to this location. We are regular customers of the Coral Tree Café in Brentwood, where we always enjoy the great atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently good food. Unfortunately, this Encino location did not meet the same standard. The café felt damp, the cashier seemed overwhelmed when taking our order, and Ricky, the staff member who brought our food, informed us that our dog couldn't be inside, but did so in a discourteous and unprofessional way. He did not ask whether the dog is a service animal. The interaction felt very unfriendly and hostile. Additionally, the coffee was cold and the steak inside the panini had almost no flavor and was served lukewarm. A Corona ordered and the beer served was a Modelo. When we brought it up, they gave us a Corona. See picture attached. I really love Coral Tree Café. They have a quite substantial offering of coffees, teas, smoothies, etc., and everything I've tried has always been great. Everyone working at Coral Tree is also very nice and helpful whenever you need anything. My biggest problem is always deciding what I wanna eat there, since I'm a huge fan of the breakfast burrito, their scrambles, and several of the Panini's. Bottom line is you can't go wrong because the food is fresh and tasty. They also have a nice selection of pastries and desserts, which makes up for the fact it can get a bit warm inside. This is also a great place for meetings with friends, family, or business since there are plenty of tables. read more

Very generic vibe inside of the place, not a bad thing but something to note. Doesn't feel like an "experience" (can you tell I'm a millennial?) but rather a place to catch up with a friend. Drinks were solid. Only complaint I have is their ordering system or kept radiating an obnoxious, repeating sound (like they have an online order to accept/confirm) and it was extremely difficult to focus or maintain calmness -- It didn't help that the staff took 3-5 minutes to turn it off every time. If you're neurodivergent it will overstimulate you very quickly. 4 stars because I don't think a minuscule detail like that should take away from the friendly service, vast menu, and decent prices. read more

I feel like they have tried a tiny bit to be more vegan friendly (they are very vegetarian friendly), as they added a vegan bowl at some point since their menu was posted online, but I think they could do more. Like have tofu as a protein option-I dont think thats difficult. I can go to several other restaurants nearby, and for cheaper, get an item with a tofu option. It's disheartening to feel like its difficult to order from their menu. Sure, I can remove the chicken, but then I'm still paying $20+. I cant eat much avocado so thats not a replacement option for me, if thats even a choice. The prices generally are too high for me at this restaurant. Idk, maybe it's bc everything says organic, but that doesn't sway me. But like my friend complained that the diet coke was $5....wow! I will say that the location interior is nice, large. The parking is horrible though and many ppl are sitting there working on their laptops for hrs with just a drink, like it's a starbucks. Its unfortunate if thats why parking is hard to find. Finally, I think their chairs could use some cushioning. I had to bring a cushion with me bc I have back issues and cant sit on their chairs or benches. We used to live in the Valley and Coral Tree was on our regular rotation of brunch spots. So we were delighted to have the chance to go again and remind ourselves why we loved it so much. Everything we've had is good and slightly indulgent. From their coffee drinks (my wife had a Matcha Latte which was beautiful and delicious) to their food (just a side of breakfast potatoes and muffin for me this time around. Both good.) My wife also enjoyed her Farmers Market Vegetable and Eggs. Everything was fresh and tasty and the portion size was perfect. They've got a lot of great options here for vegetarians, indulgent bread-based delights. (nothing for gluten-free folks in that department.) We really like the rustic cavernous atmosphere of the space. Glad to have re-met Coral Tree after a long absence. Maybe they can open up one in the Santa Clarita Valley. :) read more

I went to the Coral Tree Cafe for lunch today for the first time. I went to the counter where menus were placed and asked the Cashier about a table. She replied that this restaurant was "Cafe" style and you must come to the cashier to order, pay and seat yourself. She gave me a number and asked for my order. I gave her my order and paid for the meal at the register. She then gave me a number to place on my table. When the food was ready, she gave me the food with one napkin which had a fork and butter knife inside. I ordered the steak panini which was very tasty and a salad with Balsamic vinegar. The steak was very good and the salad tasty but the lettuce was 4 inches long and difficult to eat. The butter knife was not sharp enough to cut the lettuce. Also, the steak had cheese, tomato and avocado in it. The tomato and avocado would have been much better in the salad instead of the panini. The steak was warm which melted the cheese but I do not like warm avocado or warm tomatoes in it. Also, the chairs were as hard as a rock and very uncomfortable to sit on. If I ever return to this restaurant I would order the food to go. The lousy table and chairs they had for patrons was a real turn off! Also, I felt the workers were lazy and only did the bare minimum. So much for "Cafe" style. For the price of the food it was too expensive for literally NO Service.! JB read more

The steak panini had maybe 3 oz of steak. The chicken bowl had so little chicken that my partner had to ask for an extra portion after it was served. The salad looked like about 2 oz of shredded chicken spread out to look like more. Fries were an extra $3. The food itself was just fine, but the value was not there. Decided to give this place another try since we only got an iced latter and pastry on our last visit. We came here for brunch to celebrate Mother's Day this past Sunday. We got lucky and found parking right up front. The parking spots are tiny and it's already a small parking lot so we were VERY lucky! We walked in and there was quite a line. Maybe about 6 people ahead of us. You get in line to order and then find a table. It was busy but we managed to grab a table while the other orders so it was convenient because it got pretty packed later on! Not sure how often they have the menu stand by the entrance but it was a special that had French Toast (which my mom ordered) and Chilaquiles (which I ordered) that wasn't on the regular menu otherwise. Once we got to the front and ordered, the nice lady who took our order gave a rose to my mom for Mother's Day. Super nice! They gave it out to all Mothers that day. It was a bit hard to communicate due to the loud blender in the background and chatter from the tables but we managed. We walked to our table and it actually took a very long time for our food. Maybe a good half hour but it was also very busy so it was understandable. Food was great! Chilaquiles was way too spicy for my taste but it had a great flavor and I enjoyed it nonetheless. My bf loved his grilled chicken panini and Arnold Palmer. He said the panini was toasted just right. My mom ate half of her French toast and I took a few bites which we both enjoyed. Loved the iced vanilla latte! My go to is usually hazelnut but they didn't have it but I really liked the vanilla. Looking forward to coming back and trying their other items!
