I went to this location again and wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is clean, parking outside is a big lot. I got the double char with cheese and onion rings, with a refreshing pink lemonade with limeade. The quality is good! My onion rings were fresh, made to perfection, the burger was so delicious. One thing to note is the has self order kiosk machines, couldn't figure out how to modify my order and the young gal at the front was very courteous. She helped me place my order, just the way I like it. If you're ever in the area, you gotta try the habit. It's the best! read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience at The Habit in Encino. I ordered two Santa Barbara Cobb salads, which I normally love, but unfortunately both salads had rotten/bad lettuce. To make matters worse, the kids' Charburger was served extremely rare, which was very concerning, especially since it was for a child. This is not something I would expect from a restaurant. I've ordered these salads at other Habit locations many times and have never had this happen before. These salads are not cheap, so I expect the ingredients to be fresh and the food to be prepared properly. Very disappointed with this Encino location. This place used to be great, and it has gone downhill so much that the last 3 times we went, we decided we were done. Maybe they have new management. I don't know what their problem is, but I think 3 bad meals is enough and all the chances they should be getting. I ordered a burger rare. It came medium rare, which is fine, but it was not at all good. The bun was stale and not even heated much at all. Our fries were okay, but for the price should have been better. I would have been better off getting them in the frozen section of any market. The meat is not juicy and the buns are just bad. The customer service used to be great, but that is even now bad and I think the female manager at this place has set a bad tone. I heard her being quite rude to another customer. I usually go to The Habit locations in the South Bay Beach Cities (SBBC) of El Segundo, Hermosa or Redondo Beach/Torrance, and this one in The Valley of Encino is equal in most aspects, 'tho the side dishes of the Tempura Green Beans and especially the Onion Rings felt like truncated smaller portions almost kid's meal sampler tiny bites sized, so that's the one aspect I'd knock this location or maybe this visit on. I am very sorry to have to post this review, but I was so disappointed with my experience this evening at the Habit that I felt I had to update my review. For years, I have enjoyed eating at the Habit whenever I had the opportunity. However, tonight's experience was so poor that I've decided I will never return. Let me break it down. To begin with, the value is just not there. I know everyone has raised their prices recently, but I found the value of what I received to be lacking. I ordered the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. As you can see from the photo I provided the sweet potato fries volume is at least a quarter of what it used to be. Spreading out the fries does not fool me one bit. In addition, they did not taste fresh, almost as though they had been sitting there for some time. They weren't even hot. This convinced me that I was most likely eating something that had been sitting there for a while . There was no crowd so I don't see why french fries of any sort would not be hot if they had just been made. The burger was not the burger I remember from the past. They no longer have sprouts, and there was only one slice of cucumber. The burger just fell apart on me and when I tried to get extra sauce, they tried to charge over $.60 for it. I don't understand why that has never happened in the past. The bottom line is we have a lot of choices. In the past, the Habit was always fantastic. Reasonably priced, absolutely delicious and I always felt like I was getting my moneys worth. Tonight, the opposite was true. I would like to think that this was a one off, but I left feeling as though this is the new norm . Sorry to say I will not be returning. The food is still good, they only have one cashier behind the counter for a busy restaurant. She has to handle all of the to go orders, interact with the delivery drivers, and take orders and ring up sales. Absolutely crazy, you need 2 to 3 people behind the counter to provide excellent service. Sometimes their short cooks, then the Manager has to go into to the kitchen to cook. They are way understaffed! They have no senior discount, also if you want extra dipping sauce the size of a quarter,, you are charged for it! At the Habit they nickel and dime you! I gave this location a second chance... I ordered at the counter with employee. When food arrived my burgers had wrong toppings on them. The fries were mushy and undercooked with no salt. I also ordered a Strawberry Limeade drink, and was charged for it, when I asked them to refill the drink dispenser they responded that the machine needed cleaned and they said they're too lazy to clean it the past 2 days. Went here you have to order everything yourself in a kiosk. There's barely any employees working. They basically have them cooking only and giving the food out. And they need to multi task since there's like no one basically working here. Looks like they are making it robotic. Food was just ok not as good as I remember it. On 8-20-25 I went to the Habit in Encino, CA to order their special Chicken Sandwich, side and drink for $6. I approached the front desk of the restaurant and asked for the item. The rude clerk said to go to the computer at the front of the restaurant. There were 2 computers there. There was a line with 3 people and the other one was vacant. The vacant one was out of order. I advised the clerk at the order counter and she said I would have to wait. She was doing absolutely nothing at the time and could have taken the order. I almost left in disgust at her laziness. I went to the line and waited until the patrons were done and asked him for help as I was not used to the device. The embarrassed clerk came over and attempted to help me. I told her I wanted the chicken sandwich combo. She asked me which side I wanted, I said "fries". After waiting ten minutes I wondered what happened to my order. The lazy clerk said it was ready. Well, I said but that order had green beans, not fries. She was the one who placed the order and asked me twice which side I wanted and she still got it wrong. She then took the green beans aside and placed the order for fries. When I got the order the chicken sandwich was a measly half sandwich with a slight piece of chicken and a slice of lettuce. The taste was ok but I asked for a side of Thousand Island Dressing. She said that would be $1.25 extra. I told her to skip it because the price for a tablespoon of dressing was exorbitant! I finished my lunch and left. I will never return to this Habit in Encino again, after the rude and lazy treatment of this female employee. There are only 2 burgers that I crave and the Habit Burger is one of them. I love the charburger with bacon and avocado. Fries are a must for the side. They now have self serve screens where you can order and pay. It is a bit flawed though, because they give you a pager and ask to provide your cell number so they can text when your order is ready. Well the pager never went off and the text went through after one of the workers came to our table to tell us our food was ready. By then it was a bit cold. Update to my prior review. Food is generally fine at this location, especially the burgers and variants of their burgers. Their phone app now sort of works at least but is inconsistent and doesn't work as often it does, and doesn't offer options that are available in the store (I.e., switching bread type for the bun). The staff doesn't really seem to care much about the customers, and seem to be improperly trained. I was there today, and ordered cheeseburger, fries and said that I'd like a cup for water. The woman at the counter, who told me that she was the manager on duty, said that they were out of water cups and so she couldn't offer water. I pointed out that she had cups for soft drinks, and asked what she could do for me. She told me she couldn't give me one, but if I paid for a soft drink, I could use the cup for water. Or, they had bottled waters for sale. I pointed out that this wasn't just bad service, it was illegal. She wouldn't budge. Two strikes. I won't be going to Habit nearly as often.
