I was in the area visiting my bff and we wanted to get some Panera hazelnut coffee in us. We have a very wintry snow day and traffic was at a standstill. It however did not prevent us from making the trip which we're glad we did because we found that the place was practically empty. I guess very few were daring enough to brave the snow. "Okay Melanie, stop digressing". Ok, ok. The place was clean. The coffee had the 8:20 time stamp which was perfect for us, we were there at 8:30. The service was very friendly. I just went for a refill and the coffee station has been updated to 9:15 which is good since that they were refilling despite not many people being in there. Good experience here. read more

I could not have been more disappointed! I ordered an early morning bagels, coffee and juice breakfast for my daughters 10 bridesmaids on her wedding day and was just so disappointed! I paid for and confirmed cream cheese, butter, cream and sugar along with the bagels. I even asked if they were in the box when we picked up the order at 6:30am. I love Panera and this was my first time at this location. Got bagels, they were fresh and light, not heavy like other places. I do need to say that they should have a dedicated urn for tea water. I found hair in my salad that was clearly one of the guy's making the food. I nicely told the manager that was handing food out to people and he asked them to make me a new salad. I went back to my table and came back a few minutes later. The manager had disappeared. I waited several minutes but he never came back out. I never got an apology from the manager. Not that I excepted to get anything free or been offered a future discount due to my now ruined appetite, I would have expected to be acknowledged. I travel a lot for work, so I eat out a lot, and Panera Bread is probably the place I eat at the most frequently. I've been to Panera Bread all over the country, but this one, unfortunately, is the one that's closest to my house. The employees are all friendly and the food is good and relatively healthy, but.... Another disappointing visit to this Panera...three strikes, you are now out. My daughter's grilled cheese was burnt on one side, uncooked on another. My Bacon Turkey sandwich had only a whisper of bacon on it. Husband said the Napa Chicken Salad sandwich was marginal...nothing spectacular. There is too much bread with these sandwiches. We all had a half sandwich and soup. Soup was okay but nothing I couldn't make at home. We have frequented this Panera at least a dozen times, and we were there again last night. The food is very good for fast food, and the nutritional info is easily accessible. I have never had any problems with eat-in or to-go orders. The restaurant is clean and there is always a table available. Now and then a soda will be out, but that's no big deal. I usually get the you-pick-two, with a salad and a soup, and a side of chips. Last night I had chicken cobb salad and french onion soup, which were both good. Prior to my experience today, i was pro-panera all the way. Food really is delicious and portions are good. On this particular evening I was out running errands and my mother called me and asked me to pick her up dinner from panera, and she would order me salad along with her meal. I specifically asked for the steak and blue cheese salad with balsamic dressing on the side. My mother called the order in and I swung by Panera to pick it up. Upon my arrival, the manager (I inferred his position from his dress shirt, pants, and age- different from the other employees) read the order on the receipt, and it was wrong. My salad was not on there. They rung up a different kind of salad. I expressed this to the gentleman and even called my mother in front of him to confirm what the order should've been. Panera rang it up wrong. My mother did not order the wrong thing. I got a whole lot of huffing and puffing and the conveying of strong annoyance from the manager rather than an apology for the mix-up. You would've thought the place was packed and I was holding him up from something so important. Major 'tude for such a little mix-up that wasn't even my fault.... No thanks. The customer service is actually really exceptional and even though I'm a pretty picky and overly specific customer, they have never gotten my order wrong over the many many times I have been there in just the past two years or so. Driving up to Panera today it looked packed. There were barely any parking spots near it and the inside was filled. That being said the staff was friendly and quick moving while taking orders. After ordering the food was ready extremely quickly as well. I ordered the pick 2 and got a cup of new England clam chowder and a bacon turkey bro a sandwich. The soup was very good no complaints there. The sandwich was thick and the sauce that was put on it made the bread get soggy and fall apart. Its a chain, right? So why have I bothered to review it? Because the food, which while not great is slightly better than Taco Bell (we needed a quick breakfast) but definitely not when you are in a rush. Why? Not because it takes that long to make breakfast sandwiches. But because the cook staff will screw up your order, then argue with the cashier in front of the customer about whose fault it is. Rather than just apologizing and correcting the order. Then they will try to correct it by removing the bacon from your egg and cheese sandwiches, rather than make new sandwiches as they should, and get caught because they failed to remove all of the bacon from one of the sandwiches. Causing you to go back and stand there to watch them make it so that they do it right and fresh. (No apologies, by the way). Three strikes. read more

There are tons of Panera Breads to choose from. But this particular location should be avoided at all costs. The store seems very disheveled and unorganized compared to others I have visited. The coffee pots each had TONS of grinds in them. The staff is very young and immature. I had to tolerate their screaming and throwing items behind the counter throughout my entire meal. And my interaction with one older employee was very unpleasant - she was rude and standoffish. The floors are filthy with crumbs and spilled food under almost every table and the condiments never restocked. And it is very inconvenient because there are approximately two outlets in the entire restaurant - so if you came to work on a laptop you'll be out of luck if you need to charge anything. I have been to countless Panera Bread locations and this was by far the worst one. My last experience here was very unpleasant, and it will definitely be my last. The West Chester location is a bit further from my work but to gain a better meal and atmosphere, it is worth the longer drive. read more

I generally like the food I have gotten from this Panera Bread. What i do not like is the snotty manager. Both times I went to this Panera, me or my coworkers were inconveniencing him. My coworker told the cashier the food was to go, but somehow, this got lost in translation, and this is apparently, the worst thing you could possibly do. He literally sneered at her, when she said it was actually to go. And god forbid, THEY pronounce your name wrong when calling your items, because you should know that they meant you, even if 10 other people are waiting for food- and they weren't even close to saying your name right. I didn't know this place was a "Dick's Last Resort" type place. The manager is the older gentleman, you can tell who he is because you can just feel the hate pouring out of him. Another chain with crappy food and service. It amazes me to see the droves of humans standing in line to eat this overpriced, poor quality food. I have tried this place three times now to see what all the talk was about and give it a fair review. Unfortunately I still can't comprehend why people eat at these type of places and wait in line for so long. We as Americans have forgotten what good food and service is but we are willing to pay more for this sloppy food and service. No different then Wawa food. For the price I paid for macaroni and cheese and a turkey sandwich, I could have been waited on in a local restaurant and paid the same or less for better service and food. This Panera Bread has been our go-to spot when the Holiday Inn across the street screws up the schedule for our weekly networking group. Most the time we are welcome here by the Panera Bread team but not by the other patrons for most are business people trying to conduct some sort of little meeting or individuals feverishly typing on their laptop so they do not appreciate the disturbance a large group of business owners creates. The food is always good and fresh, the Power Breakfast sandwich is a favorite of mine. Coffee, when they have it, is how and fresh as well but it seems that keeping the caraffs "full" is a difficult task for some of the Panera team. I recommend this place for business meetings (small) for our company has used it numerous times to gather our employees for Health Care meetings. You can typically find a little alcove or corner to gather in with little distraction where on the larger scale, like our networking group (18-20) can be a little more difficult to handle. The space is comfortable and well lit so computer work is easy as well as their Wifi connectability. Check them out when your local Starbucks is too crowded! read more
