I had been craving some clam chowder all week so I came to Panera to get some for dinner after work. I walked in, ordered, and everything was cool. I was told that they would call my name when my order was ready (I had ordered to go) so I went and sat down with my ears open for my name. I had been sitting not too long when I heard someone call out something but I figured that it wasn't for me since it was not my name and another couple had been in front of me so I thought it was for them. A few seconds go by and I hear that same voice say "what was your order?" in a very stern way. Again, I didn't know if that question was addressed to me or not. Suddenly I hear the voice rudely say "mam", so I peek around the corner of where I was sitting (there's a bit of a wall there so the line of sight from the waiting area to the food counter is a bit blocked) and the lady goes "what was your order?", in an annoyed tone. I tell her I ordered clam chowder in a bread bowl and she gives the bag on the counter a little shove and basically is like "well here it is". I picked it up and left without a word. Usually I say thank you but I really didn't feel like thanking her for that "customer service". The icing on the cake was that when I got home (a 10 minute drive at most), the soup was cold. I placed the order on line and drove about 15 minutes to reach the location to find out that they are out. I placed the order on line hoping that I wouldn't be disappointed again. Gotta agree with the other reviews that I read after my experience here today. The service was ok, but the quality of the food was pretty bad, especially compared to other Paneras. Mixed veg soup was cold and tasted like it was from a can. The accompanying piece of baguette was a little stale (aren't the made fresh daily?). Tried the new steak-arugula sandwich- not much steak and the onion relish overpowered any other taste. Wonder if it's made any better at another location. Took the coward's route after that and stopped answering the phone. I will never order or visit again. Very poor customer service. The customer service here is pathetic! Worst of the group is the person who handles orders in the morning at the drive thru. She's consistently rude, sarcastic, loud and obnoxious. She hems and haws, sighs, over-talks you and cuts you off. Other friends have said they have encountered the same. I realize restaurants are short staffed and the anxiety in these establishments are rather high, but that's absolutely no excuse to take it out on the customer. I did refer this to the manager after experiencing this for months, however, I have no idea if anything is being done about it. As for the food, the sandwiches are pretty good but the soups and pizza are never that hot and are pretty bland. We went through the drive-through, and first they didn't have a bread bowl. Next they didn't have a dressing, and we had to repeat our order multiple times. The food here is pretty good. Exactly what I expect. I do like the pastry options they have to offer. My biggest gripe is that the price is outside of normal. I can get a steak dinner at some places for what it cost me to have lunch here. All I had was a pick-2. Half a sandwich and salad and a drink and it was over $15. Another reviewer mentioned this already, but like her, I miss the Atlanta Bread Company that used to be in Fayetteville Pavilion. ABC has a better menu with more variety than Panera, and the food is consistently better at ABC. Nonetheless, as mentioned by others, there are not a lot of healthy alternatives to fast food in Fayetteville, when you are tired and just want to go home, so, Panera caters to people like me who are sick of greasy fast-food. The menu is pretty much the same-old same old. Occasionally, a new seasonal item is introduced, but it does not stay around for long, so there is not a lot of new and exciting options here.The food itself is inconsistent. For the most part, it is good and hearty, but sometimes you get a "where are the goods" soup or a skimpy sandwich. Worse though is the service. The cashiers are rarely friendly, and if they are coming out from the back, they take their sweet time getting to the register. Occasionally, a nice, helpful cashier is hired, but he or she does not last long. And last, let's talk about the drive-thru. It is very convenient for the customer that this Panera location offers a drive-thru; nevertheless, though the drive-thru workers are typically friendlier than the cashiers working the restaurant side of the operation, the drive-thru crew will always screw up the order. Does not matter if it is prime dinner time or during a slow period. They will neglect to give you part of the order or mess something up. I don't know if they just need a better speaker so they can hear the customer, or if it is the kitchen at fault, or if the person on the drive-thru is putting in the wrong order. You have to wait a long time to get through the drive-thru process. The least the drive-thru crew can do to make the experience more pleasant for the customers, is to get the order right. I go here quite often but I honestly go because I am desperate and tired on the way home and don't want fried food or fast food. I was really bummed Atlanta Bread Company closed in the Fayette Pavilion because I really think their recipes and sandwiches have better combinations and flavor. Something is always just a little off with Panera Bread. The only things I tolerate and actually like are the Salads, some of the soups, and a good old chocolate chip cookie. With that being said this place is easy to get to but the parking lot is small and it can get pretty crowded. Outside of the menu just being okay and only having a few excellent combinations, my 3 stars are because of the service and food quality. The salads and sandwiches can be very inconsistent and do not always come out the same. I have received wilted lettuce and I have had to wait in the drive through over ten minutes on several occasions. The staff is nice and friendly and is willing to help with anything. Unfortunately, Panera Bread is a desperate stop for me due to lack of health fast food in suburbia. If there were other options as easy, I would be there. read more

First time at this location. Time-2:11 pm so rush cannot be used as an excuse. Cashier did not give me my pastry for starters. While waiting for my order, the two young men preparing the food were side tracked chatting with the young woman that also worked there. So while I waited, I asked the cashier that had to get my pastry for my green tea. Then my order was ready=ticket says Creamy Tomato soup, but I have Broccoli Cheddar Cheese, SMH. So I show my receipt to the lady, she apologizes and brings the correct soup. She even gives me a coupon for all the errors. I admire young workers, however, the management must be more involved with training and managing. The workplace is no place for flirting and lolly gagging. The customer service and accuracy of this location has really gone downhill. Unfortunately my order is usually incorrect no matter how I order (drive through, delivery, in-store). I hate to leave a negative review because I know everyone is short staffed, but this has gone of for several months. If I had never been to a Panera I think they would all suck! Every time I go here something is wrong or is not good. I've only been through the drive thru. Probably won't ever go inside. My last three visits went something like this. Visit #1. Clam chowder was watery, how does that happen? Did the person making it never had clam chowder before? I also ordered a bread bowl and that wasn't included. Visit #2. Coffee was over brewed. I would have been better off going to a gas station. Visit 3. Was completely the wrong order. Went back around the drive thru and they let me keep the wrong order (Bag of bagels and cream cheese) and gave me my order. My actual order was not impressive at all. Smells like poop in the restaurant, most intensely in the front ordering area. The floors are very sticky so nobody has attempted to clean whatever smells like poop.
