This place used to be the berries! USED to be. I stop by several times a week on my way to work and was excited to see the drive through. But in recent months the slide has been noticeable. There are a few people who work the drive through and inside, which knock it out of the park, cheers to them... but their inept or uninterested counterparts leave a lasting impression and detract from the others hard efforts. Incorrectly filled orders, not want to check if you have certain breads, bagels or soufflés available, giving wrong items. Two bottoms come out when you order one bagel (this happens often with the asiago and cinnamon ones - the best parts never come out?!). I've had enough; you get my opinion, a sad faced review and a promise to spend my money elsewhere. I hate sharing sad opinions but I accounted for the fact that we all have bad days. Here, the bad days have become the norm. Listen - I like this place, I like that its in my neighborhood, I like the food. I want it to be here. It can be better. I bought a loaf a white bread and the store didn't put a twist tie on the bread, it fell out of the bag and when I called the store manager, she said we are NOT required to put one on and had a SNOTTY attitude, didn't offer to replace it either. I stopped in at 6:40 am before work. I order 2 1/2 dozen bagel with tubs of cream cheese The lady took my order and was working on my order. Meanwhile one lady leaned against the counter and watched, two others (one appeared to be a manager) talked abouT Christmas presents. Not once did anyone offer to help as she ran for cream cheese because the frig was emptied. She did ask for someone to get a specific bagel and they brought back the wrong one. The lack of customer service. I spoke to the lady who was dressed like a manger. All she could say was she never asked for help, if you have a customer standing there waiting why would she have to ask. I won't be back I drive past a Panera in the way to work. Dealing with this particular location requires the patience of a Saint. The management here is crazy awful. The place is generally littered, generally dirty, and always out of items. It's been 6 months or so since my last bad experience here so I thought I'd swing by for the most basic, least likely to disappoint of all Panera items; BAGELS. They had TWO! Ok, I'll get a loaf of bread I thought -- sold out. But the real shocker was the attitude of the manager. Annoyed, apathetic and completely disinterested in displaying anything resembling customer care. She said they were out of items because of the weather (42 degrees and rainy), what did I want her to do she said, she had no bread to bake. I have not been to this location in several months. This morning I stopped in for breakfast. At the register I see several sign that they are out of cream cheese. How is a bagel place out of cream cheese??? So I settle on a soufflé. I stand at the register for several minutes. There are several employees behind the register that seem to be filling catering orders. Someone finally takes my order. When I get my soufflé it it cold. Had to ask them to warm it up. I really like Panera but his one operates differently. First of all they offer no discounts for safety personnel while others I have visited do. Secondly, I was encouraged to use the kiosk although I found out I had a 5 dollar certificate for "online" orders only. I said well the use of the kiosk is online but the lady server disagreed. I already wrote off the Tinley Park Panera do to their inconsistency with ingredients, salad sizes and extremely slow service. It should not take 20+ minutes to make a salad on a not so business time period and than still mess it up by not providing correct ingredients. Use to love Panera but they are just really bad now. I confirmed today the Frankfort IL location is just as bad as the Tinley Park IL location. Will never visit another Panera stored since it seems to be an issue with Panera in general, not just poor management at one specific store. This is the worst Panera around! We go here all the time and up until probably 6 months ago or so it was a good Panera. BUT, I don't know what they changed but it has gone downhill big time. I usually love panera bread as it's always been my favorite place to eat. The last two times I've gone there they were out of bread bowls and my favorite soup, broccoli cheddar. Today I came to get soup and they were out of almost EVERY soup except some squash soup and tomato. Clearly management cannot keep up with inventory or just has no clue how to run a store because such a popular place which is known for their soup should not have customers walking out. By far the worst one I've been to. I mostly order the same set of items. You pick 2 tomato soup and turkey artichoke sandwich plus hot tea. To start things off the guy who took my order seemed to either that've trouble operating the register, didn't know what a sandwich is, or is just unfit to be employed. It took a whole 5 minutes to ring up my order and him asking me 3 different times what I wanted to get it right. Then for some crazy reason I was still standing there with no ticket. After the whole debacle, I head over to pick up my order only to find that both he an I had forgotten my tea. To make matters worse i ended up with 2 soups and no sandwich. Honestly, come on, who on earth orders 2 small soups to pay more than ordering 1 regular size soup for less. Get it together. When I alerted the staff of the mistake, they were equally unhelpful. No apology, just snide remarks. When I did finally get my sandwich, it looks nothing like the same sandwich I've been eating for the past 4 years. Okay my review on Panera Bread is stuck between an "A-Okay" and a "Yay I'm a fan". Some visits and items are "A-Okay" and then other visits and items are "Yay I'm a fan." Today I will go with "Yay I'm a fan." I ordered the Mac n Cheese, which is normally out of this world good. The noodles and cheese are sooo thick and creamy and this dish is always so filling. It quenches my Mac n Cheese craving. But the extremely friendly and helpful server Denise said it was too early and not ready yet. So I tried for the Black Bean soup dish. Another strong item at this Panera Bread location. It usually quenches my Cuban craving. But again the very sweet and courteous Denise said that the Black Bean soup was also not ready yet. So I decided on a sandwich instead. I ordered the Tuna Salad with lettuce, tomato, light mayo on Honey Wheat bread that came with chips. This is a light tasting sandwich that does not leave you with that heavy tummy feeling. The mayo is light without the tuna being dry. The chips seemed baked instead of fried. For my drink I ordered the low fat Mango smoothie. I do love my smoothies, especially the mango flavor. My wife ordered a Bacon, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich. We both thought this was just "A-Okay". It was a bit on the greasy side with only two strips (I know only two) of bacon on the sandwich. Maria also ordered a Grande tea, which she finished in Panera and had a refill of Coffee on the way out. Our total bill came to roughly $16 dollars. Again the service was very friendly. The place is also very clean, well stocked and maintained. When I went in to pick up my order they were out of the pastry I wanted but the manager substituted it with a Cherry, Apple & Cheese Pastry Ring and a bag of small scones for no additional cost. Food is consistent and average. Problem seems to be the same continuously and is referenced in others reviews as well. Services are lacking and almost always understaffed. As I stand in line with 3 or 5 or more people behind me waiting I look at the 5 registers sitting idle and only 1 in use and 3 people walking around useless doing nothing. Last time I stood in line I watched 2 other couples walk out because it was so slow. It was ridiculously expensive and for all of this, we got a soggy sandwich, an extremely salty sandwich, an overdone grilled cheese, a skimpy salad with very little dressing and watered down tea.
