I love love love Panera Bread. There salads and sandwiches are very flavorful and delicious. I would always get their Asian chicken salad and the dijon mustard chicken bacon panini. It tastes perfect, just like the first time I ever had it. There bakery has an endless amount of pastries, but you have to get their chocolate chip cookies. Its perfect. I eat at Panera a lot. Maybe way too often. Food is always good. However this particular location just pissed me off. I order a breakfast sandwich "for here" and sit down to wait for it. 15 minutes go by and not a sandwich in sight. I finally get up to see what the hell is taking so long and there is my sandwich sitting there on the counter getting cold. The cook looks at me and says "sorry we don't have a runner", as in some one to bring it to me. Yet you have a bunch of people behind the register and bakery section not doing s*** and carrying on personal conversations? If you didn't have a runner then why not tell me that in the first place instead of giving me one if those locators and pretend like you were planning on serving me? I would have gotten up 10 minutes ago to get my own food had I known. That is NOT how you run a business. I left my dirty dish on the table for them to clean up since they obviously aren't busy. read more

love this place! ceasar sandwich YUM! they also hav free WIFI. the employees there are also great! if they mess up in anyway, as in your order they always give you something for free! today they charged me for a smoothie when it was supposed to be free from my panera rewards card but they cashier did not take it off, so I noticed and informed him and he basically gave me my refund, my free smoothie and I get another free smoothie next time. awesome! read more

I love the fact that Panera is conveniently located in my neck of the woods. The selection of baked goods, pasta, sandwiches and salads put Panera on the top 5 list of Go - To bakeries. I come here for the Muffies and the Soufflés. The staff at this location are a bit rude which is their only downfall. On every occasion that I have come service is slow, there is always just one cashier ringing and 6 more in the back lollygagging...Staff if never pleasant & seem like they don't enjoy interacting with customers...& I can't help but feel like they hoard the Bacon and Spinach Soufflés, on my last two visits I attempted to order Soufflés and one chick told me flat out "We're all out!" Without even looking, to top it off there was two whole pans smiling back at me from behind the counter...I Love this location and although the staff is rude the soufflé s keep drawing me in, hopefully they can push the friendly factor on their employees. read more

Very disappointed, I ordered toasted bagel with butter to stay. After 15 minutes had passed, I asked twice for my food and was advised that it was out to be delivered to my table. I looked up in their counter, and it was just sitting on top of the counter. I had to go and picked up my own food. It was cold and hard already. I asked the server why it was just sitting there, and she just said that she was doing something else. It was the only food on the counter, and they couldn't serve it on time. I told the manager about the incident, and she didn't even care. It's a very bad service! read more

I would give it 5 stars because the food always tastes great but I order the same salad every time and it is NEVER the same when they make it. It's missing something I ordered and then when I ask if they are out of the item they say no they just forgot it. I keep going back because it's the closest clean food place around my job but it's such a disappointment when they get the order wrong 9/10 times. And even more so because a co-worker usually picks up my rapid pick up order so I don't know it's wrong until it gets delivered to me and by that time I'm not going back to get it fixed. read more

In the last month they have 'ran out' of three separate items. Tonight was the worst, out of regular size cups and they only had the really small size. Did they charge me less for it? Nope! The sandwiches and salads are good but the pasta and some other items are gross!! I understand most of their stuff is pre made and come frozen so you can't expect the food to be fresh and tasty. When I done it most of the time it is sooooo cold!! AC on blast. My coworkers and I ordered online ($90 of food) and I went to pick up the order and brought it back to work. All the sandwiches were wrong, such as the ones requested with no mayonnaise had mayonnaise (TONS) and the ones requested with mayo and mustard didn't have anything on them? As three of us started to eat our broth bowls we were surprised to hit something hard with our spoons in the bottom of the bowls...?! It was a plastic lid in each of our soups?? So weird and definitely a mistake. The salad that we ordered to have chicken had no chicken...I mean everything was bad! I had to take it all back and the manager remade it but asked for us to bring the uneaten food back so she could see it herself...ok, no problem! They gave us a 10% discount for everything and remade the order but still frustrating. Not to mention the order was supposed to be ready at 12:30pm and it actually wasn't ready until 1:10pm. Then by the time we brought the lunch back and had it remade it was 2pm. So much for eating lunch on our lunch time! I only go to this Panera if all my other study places are closed. Things I like: -I've gotten a few freebies with the MyPanera card. Unfortunately most of these freebies expire after a certain time, so you have to use them or lose them. -Some of their booths have plugs for my laptop -The room in the back is a little quieter than the front of the restaurant, perfect for studying. -The lighting for reading is pretty decent. -There are usually 1-2 other students studying, so I usually don't feel awkward with all my books. -Most of their servers and people who take the orders at the front are nice. Things I dislike: -One of their managers is SUPER RUDE!!! The last time I was there studying late, I wasn't sure when they closed. They had locked the front doors, but there were still people in the restaurant. NO ONE said anything to me, so I kept studying. Then around 8:45pm this manager comes up to me and says with a MAJOR ATTITUDE "JUST REMINDING YOU THAT WE CLOSED AT 8PM"...Um, can you please say it any nicer? And actually NO I WAS NOT AWARE THAT YOU CLOSED AT 8PM BECAUSE NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME, SO NO YOU ARE NOT REMINDING ME BECAUSE I NEVER KNEW YOUR CLOSING TIME TO BEGIN WITH. Maybe something like "I'm sorry, we're closing up now" or even "I'm sorry, we are closing now, but we will open again at ____ am". What a jerk. -Some of their booths are super tiny. -Some of their tables are super tiny. -Another time a staff member came up to me and said "THIS AREA IS CLOSING IN 5 MINUTES DUE TO A STAFF MEETING, SO YOU NEED TO MOVE". Can I make a suggestion? MAYBE YOU SHOULD PUT A SIGN UP SAYING THAT THE SEATING AREA WOULD BE CLOSED SO DON'T SIT DOWN AND GET SETTLED BECAUSE WE'RE JUST GOING TO MAKE YOU MOVE AGAIN. That was super annoying because I have a lot of stuff to move whenever I study (like I had to unpack and pack up and unpack all my books, notes, laptop, charger, pencil case, and food). read more

Someone finally decided to open up Panera Bread in the bay area...I know they opened up their first few cafes over in the south bay first, and ain't I ecstatic that they finally opened one over in Millbrae and Hayward!!!!! I was first introduced to Panera Bread in Greensboro, NC, and then in Denver, Colorado, and then L.A..... every single one of their soups are DEEELLLIIICCIIOOUuuSSS......, and sandwich wise, I esp. love the turkey bacon bravo sandwich, as well as their paninis......YUM. Making myself hungry just thinking about it......I know from the outside, the cafe itself might look like just another soup and sandwich place, BUT NOOOOOOOO, don't let that fool you........ Other than their soup and sandwiches, their bagels are very tasty (love their asiago cheese bagel)as well, and you DEFINITELY need to try their EGG SOUFFLE (Bacon, spinach, egg and 2 other kinds). OMG, it's the BEST, esp. when you eat it fresh out of the oven. Anyway, I can keep on raving about this place, but give it a try. This is the place when you get Fresh baked bread and other baked goodies.They also make good freshly brewed coffee and as much as you can drink. I came here today, 10/7/2015 at around 9:00 in the morning and I have never been here. I went in and I was greeted by one of their servers. What was before me was a price board on their wall with the different types of bread prices. I ordered one of their pecan bread + a cup of coffee totaled around $4.78 tax included and the saleslady told me that I can heat up my pecan bread by the microwave on the bottom of the table on where the coffees are at. I thought to myself of how convenient this place is! So i got my pecan bread and the lady asked me "Would you like a ceramic mug or a To-Go cup for your coffee!?" And I said the ceramic mug on which she handed me one. i took my coffee from the urns and sat down, took my Chromebook laptop and wouldn't you know it!? they have FREE Wi-Fi. I sat there, ate my bread, drank my coffee and used my laptop for about 3 good hours emailing surfing and commenting on the net. I have now found my NEW same old hangout and it's this place! I will no longer go to McDonald's for breakfast for this place is much better, more friendlier and more quiet + Less ghetto. You can stay here, drink all the coffee all you want and surf the net with Free WiFi signal...what could be better than that!? Plus their menus has MORE selections than McDonald's or any other breakfast restaurants. I always go to this particular Panera, because it's close to my house. I love the food, it's pricy but worth it. I don't know how the other Panera places but in this particular one THEY ARE ALWAYS RUNNING OUT OF SOMETHING... ! it's crazy.. every time I been there 99% of the times they are missing, guess what? BREAD!!!!! the name it self implies that they specialize in BREAD so how can you always be missing BREAD!!! I understand if they are missing a soup, or a meat , or soda but BREAD don't this people bake their bread in this place. it looks like it so why don't they make so more! Anyways unfortunately for me I have to go to this one because it's convenient , Close to my house .. so if you ever plan to go this panera always be open to switch to whatever they have available or stay away from here, specially around 6:00 - to they close. I will call management or whoever keep this people on check. in the mean time I guess I will have to keep switching between whatever they have available. I'm choosing to write this review because I feel the customer service at this Panera location was poor. I requested a cup with water, ice and lemon. The associates would not provide me with a cup for water. It's very unfortunate as all other restaurants I've ever frequented will offer their patrons water cups. Also, there was no butter in the To Go bag to accompany my baguette. Every other Panera I've been to adds butter in the bag. Then upon actually consuming my food, I found the croutons to be stale!! I like the food but it is hard to find a table since some people stay for a long time to study. The internet is not to fast. One big complaint I have is that the floors are always dirty and that makes me wonder what the back area of the restaurant is like. Also, a couple times I have been their and they run out lots of the breads. Last time I was their they were out of Coke syrup and I told someone. She said she would tell someone and I waited by the soda machine for 10 minutes and nothing. I could see her chatting it up with her coworker so I walked over and asked her about the Coke and she said they were out of Coke. She didn't even bother to come over to me and tell me, I had to go to her. It would have been nice if she would have told me since she could see me at the soda machine waiting. That was the last time I went to Panera and I don't think I'll be back even though I like the food. read more

The food is good, but the big problem is they skimp more and more on portions, while increasing prices.

The great thing about Panera is, that it serves all the sandwiches that you've always wanted to prepare at home, but you are simply too lazy to get and prepare the ingredients for. The food is simple and good, and that's how it should be. The place has a fast food approach (stand up ordering), but once you wait for your food (usually no longer then 5 minutes) it definitely doesn't have a fast food feel. The dining room is carpeted and has many different seating options. It also has a fireplace you can sit near. The free Wi-Fi also makes for a nice addition and most days you will find people sitting at their table on their laptops long after they finish their meals. I enjoy the mellow and cozy feel to the place. The prices are a little steep (just under $10 for half a sandwich, cup of soup, side of bread and soda) but you are getting a pretty quality meal in less then five minutes. Although i am not sure how many of their ingredients are prepared in store, they seem very fresh. Overall one of my favorite chain restaurants. read more

Panera's food is awesome. All their sandwiches are tasty and the service is super fast. Even when in the middle of the lunch hour rush they can usually get you your food to you in less than 5 minutes! Although everything is good, my favorites are the Turkey Bacon Sando and the Turkey Artichoke Panini. Great service, great price and it's the healthiest sandwich place around. I like Panera, but I don't think I like this Panera. My smoked turkey sandwich was simply sliced lunch meat with lettuce and tomato on white bread - dry and uninteresting. My soup spoon's surface was worn off and my booth seat was cracked. The place appeared worn. The outside trash can overflowed. Compared to other places, this meal is relatively higher priced.
